Hi Assuming one somehow removes the GRUB bootloader from the installed WIN XP (Primary) hard disk (with WIN Recovery Console, fixmbr etc.), how then does one get the presumably newly installed NT Bootloader to recognize the installed Linux OS on the second hard disk? I guess some change must be made to the boot.Ini file? I'm not unhappy with GRUB, but I don't like the idea of having a LINUX boot loader "commingled" with a WIN OS disk. I'd rather have the primary HDD (with WIN installed), have it's own bootloader, with a boot option to boot LINUX on the second HDD. Thanks George (wombat53)

Avi to DVD....The simple way!3 In 1 Dvd TutorialThanks so much for your info although in my opinion, there is a much easier way. I use the latest version of "ConvertXtoDVD". This allows you to simply add your avi files, I regularly add 4 x 700mb files. Add a menu if you want to. Click on convert which takes around 1 hour, after which time it's automatically burned to a 4.5g DVD5 disc! Absolutely NO LOSS of quality guaranteed! All in around an hour!! I've just finished Series 1,2,3 & 4 of Doctor Who (48 episodes) all on 12 DVD's!! Take my word for it and try it! My "ConvertXtoDVD" has paid for itself numerous times! Information to one company (such as Shutterfly), it is still illegal for a completely different business entity to obtain that same information without getting it directly from you. Both companies are performing illegal operations involving the sharing of your c.C. Information. The fine print on Reservation Rewards is moot. They broke the law.

Painfull but SuURE solution to ipod skipping songs, stuttering songsMy Ipod Is Randomly Skipping Songs, Losing Data,Hello everyone, This problem started with my ipod about 6 months ago and I tried everything to rectify it, reformatted my hard disk, re installed itunes, used the old one used the latest version... Everything! Stumbled on the solution by accident yesterday: it is a virus (trojan) that causes the skipping by invading mp3 files and leaving in a marker that forces iexplorer to go to a certain website that wants you to download a codec to play the file. Bad idea! Use Soundforge or any sound editting software to open any of these files and delete the marker that shows up. This is painful I know, but it works; and if you're like me and value the music accumulated equally painstakingly, you'll want to try this out on your favourite collections at least. In the hope that someone that will require similar hope and stumble across your question I will tell you how I scored 90th percentile/5.5 on the analytical writing section. I purchased two used Kaplan GRE books, and brought them to Panera Bread. I can't read at Panera Bread, but I can definitely write there. I sat down and followed the GRE preparation directions for the analytical writing section. Their thing was to basically have you go through the experience twice. I had to write two essays: one as a protagonist and one as an antagonist, each in 30 minutes I think. I hand wrote them, and followed the directions. I did not go back and make any corrections, and then I went home and copied them verbatim to my computer. I emailed the essays to my high school english IV teacher and asked her how I would do. She told me, "fine." She was right. I basically followed her teachings for writing, and ignored what all the idiotic college professors didn't teach me. High school English teachers are far more knowledgeable about writing skills than college professors. Go back to your roots, and you'll write just fine. Try and fill it with fluff as college professors do and you'll bomb. -reply by Jeff

I have been an avid laptop user for about 8 years now. I started out with an HP Pavillion laptop; didnt like it. I ended up selling it. Then, in 2005, I decided to try Dell. I had heard great stories about Dell laptops. My wife had decided to buy me one for my Christmas and birthday present, since my birthday falls about 3 weeks after Christmas. She bought me a Dell Xps M140, which I still have. And although Dell told me that the laptop would be compatible with Windows Vista, which was coming out the following year, the fact is that it was not very compatible with Vista at all. And Dell had refused to take it back for an exchange. Dell didn't really lie to me, as it would work with Vista, but just would work with Vista Basic, not the other versions. So, a few months later, we decided that I could get another Dell that was compatible with Vista. So I got a Dell Inspiron E1505, which to this day is a top-notch laptop. Just a few months after that, I decided to get the new Dell Inspiron 1520 in an attempt to get a laptop that was compatible with Vista 64 Bit version. I sold the E1505 not long after I got the 1520. The only thing that wasn't compatible with 64 bit Vista on my 1520 is the graphics driver. Dell said that for that particular graphics card, an NVIDIA GeForce 8600M, the 64 bit OS wasn't supported. It has beena never-ending journey in attemting to get a laptop that supports Vista or XP 64 bit. I have yet to manage to get one. Anyway, aside from that, Dell laptops have been extremely great laptops. I love them and also love the way Dell will send out replacement parts providing the laptops/ destops are still under warranty. In that area, no computer manufacturer has even gotten close to being in the same class as Dell. I love my Dell laptops and desktop. My newest laptop, a Fujitsu Lifebook T1010 tablet, is also just as top-notch. I have yet to need to request any parts from Fujitsu. I heard through Consumer Reports that Fujitsu rates right up there in second place for pc manufacturers, falling second only to Mac laptops. On a 1 to 10, lowest to highest scale, Mac laptops ranked 9.2 and 9.4 while Fujitsu laptops ranked 8.4 and 8.6. Just recently, I reasd where Fujitsu laptops have even climbed in the Number 1 spot, ranking at 9.2 and 9.7. Mac laptops have just recently fallen to second place, just behind Fujitsu. Well, to sum this up, the best laptops for me are a definite tie between Dell and Fujitsu. I love these laptops much more than I even care for HP's. Sony would have had a high score ranking with me, but I found out the hard way, that Sony does Not honor their warranties on their products, namely their computers. I also found out that Sony in fact teaches their tech support staff to give false reports on laptops and computers that have been sent back to them for repair or replacement, and they have been trained to give false statements that it is in fact the owners' faults allways that the computers have quit working or have become defective, which violates their warranty. I have also witnessed this firsthand with a Sony Vaio laptop that I own and still own even to this day. It is because of their refusal to honor their warranty Twice with my Sony Vaio laptop, that I have boycotted my house and my family from buying another Sony product. And I also share mys tory with all of my friends and other family members, who also, based on my story and bad experience with Sony, as well as my research on how Sony trains its tech staff to give false reports, that all of my friends and family members have also boycotted Sony, and also refuse to buy Sony products again. And I will share this story about Sony anytime and every chance I get, until they contact me and honor their warranty and get me up to speed with my Sony Vaio. I also plan to do public speaking on thisw against Sony, and have scheduled some times and places of where I will speak on this. I used to be a very faithful Sony product buyer, and it was always Sony stereos, etc... That I would purchase. But now Sony and their fraudulent ways have turned me into a pure Sony Corp. Hater. With all of this said, Sony computers rate the lowest of low in my opinion. So buying a Sony computer is definately Notm recommended. Thanks for listening, and for reading my report on laptops. If you are considering or even planning yur first-time laptop purchase or even your next laptop purchase, I very strongly and highly recommend either Dell or Fujitsu. Not only do they provide you with the highest quality laptops and computer systems, but with these companies, you definatel get the best deal for your money; the best that your money can buy. And in this day and time of recession and need to hold onto any and every dollar that we can make, it is only very smart that you buy the high quality for less, rather than paying for a brand name and receiving the lowest quality. (the spread sheet is just a rectangle with lines and numbers filled in) On my mac, safari prints most of it but not the last half of my spreadsheet. I get 2 pages with everything on it but the third page is blank safe for the "copyright my_company's_name 2009" at the end. I have tried loading this on a linux machine at my school and it does not print the Java at all, I get the form buttons and logos and such but no java. I have noticed some slight differences between my code and the code seen here so I will also mention that this is a Perl file printing out CGI HTML, and linking to Java classes. Any ideas? Had a similiar experience with Dish and AT& T. You call AT&T and they make all sorts of promises on Dish Network's behalf and then when you get your bill-NOTHING is what they said it would. We were promised a bill of $116/mo...HA! Got the bill and it was $179! So much for customer service, we had reps from AT&T and DN on the phone at the same time blaming each other and they still DID NOTHING! And threatend us with extra fees if we cancel. Which brings me to my next point. They signed us up for a 2 year agreement without our knowledge. They never tell you that over the phone. They have you sign some electronic pad when they install-NEVER mentioning that you are agreeing to a 2 yr. Deal by signing, in fact, the tech LIES and says you are just signing to state that they were there and installed the equipment and they don't leave any paperwork with you. It's total FRAUD! I smell a class action lawsuit!

Actually - look at CSS3 specifications and you'll find scrollbar changes supported. However I hope Firefox will do the sensible thing and get fully CSS2 compliant before they go on to CSS3. The greater control over text in some of the CSS2 specifications is important to get out of the way before we add things like scrollbar changes. In fact there's other stuff in CSS3 which is way more interesting than scrollbar changes so - much as I like the idea - I'd rather that stuff was done before we start changing scrollbars.
