  1. Thanks for your kind words! :D

  2. How about the name 'Peepz' taken from moodsey211's reply? lol Peepz means people, and people use it.Peep also means to view something, so it could mean peeping at various aspects or parts of the world through the web browser.
  3. 100% agree with Saint Michael that you are a moron. You sound as though you're treating this like a laugh.Which normal woman would like to hear that her boyfriend has been on better terms with his ex? If your girlfriend suddenly told you that she's been contacting her bf more often, would you 'share her joy'? Sure she knew about your situation, but did you tell her what to expect? Did you tell her that she should expect that you'd be interacting more with your ex because of your daughter? Did you tell her you'd have to sacrifice time together with her because you need to look out for your family? If you didn't make sure that she understood what is expected of her before you both started a relationship, then you have absolutely no right to call her 'screwed up'. Judging that you are someone who generalizes issues, like calling the rest of the woman population screwed up when you don't even know us, you deserve what she did to you, which is far less of what you deserve.I really hope your new ex-girlfriend has a better life in her new town. She deserves a far better person than you.
  4. I have to agree that software with beautiful interfaces do look more credible and professional. If I see screenshots of 2 software with similar features I usually choose the one that looks more visually appealing.
  5. I suppose the bloggers who apply for the free domains will be asked to placed advertisements on their blogs? This would be a good reason for people to donate to this project. I agree that it's quite a good idea. A lot of young bloggers are unable to buy domains because they don't have credit cards or just don't have the spare cash for it. And it's easy for anyone to say 'Ask your parents to pay for you' when they don't know what parents actually think. I've been through the same phase where I couldn't get a domain and it's frustrating when people give me useless solutions for it. I think your website will be a good solution to these bloggers. Many young bloggers actually do write well and it's a pity when they give up because they aren't getting a lot of traffic or interest. So good luck with your project!
  6. Congrats! I always wanted to be a model, but later I got more interested in helping people becoming models through make-up and beauty expertise. Anyway, your link leads to a page that requires registration.
  7. I absolutely agree with you. It irks me when I dream of having achieved something impossible, which is something I really wanted, but when I wake up, I realized that it was just a dream and I feel a huge pang of disappointment.
  8. Medical Qigong is a form of non-surgical, non-machine holistic healing that boosts little-known or no side-effects. Its origins can be traced back to the Han Dynasty (206BC to 220BC). Renowned universities like Tsinghua, Beijing and Zhongshan have reported their scientific findings of qi, or oxygen, to alleviate and cure common medical conditions such as cardiovascular diseases, cancer, kidney or liver failure, stroke and diabetes. According to medical qigong practitioners, most illnesses arise due to a re-alignment of the spine. When the cervical vertebrae body is compressed or realigned, it exerts pressure on the nervous system that in turn, presses on the meridians. Each meridian along the spine corresponds to a major organ, such as the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys etc. When there is pressure on the meridian, the major organ that is connected to it malfunctions. Modern lifestyle causes the spine to be in the wrong posture over time. Wearing heels, sitting in the incorrect posture for prolonged periods, consuming excessive drugs, sitting on sofas and using gym equipment incorrectly are the most common culprits of developing the wrong posture. In medical qigong, patients are typically made to sit in a unique position to dispel toxins and replenish qi. When done correctly, the palms will start radiating heat in a few minutes. The effect will be more obvious if you usually have cold, clammy palms, or during cold weather. When a patient performs qigong methods or 'gongfas' under the close supervision of a certified medical qigong instructor, he is embarking on a journey of self-healing. Medical qigong comprises gongfa, Chinese massage methods and external qi emitted by qigong instructors. The muscles, ligaments and tendons around the spine are loosened and this releases the pressure built up in the spine. The body will automatically align the spine back to the correct posture, re-activating the body to heal itself naturally of the existing medical condition. The major organs are able to resume normal functions. Qi and blood will also flow more smoothly, rejuvenating the person. Thus, when a person practices gongfas, he tends to feel more mentally alert. In more severe cases, the qigong instructor will emit external qi to further enhance the functionality of major organs. However, medical qigong is not suitable for patients who have undergone major operations or those who have their bones fused together. When people have injured their backs and choose to ignore the constant back pains and aches, the obstruction of smooth flow of qi and blood will cause dampness at the injured spot. After a prolonged period, the bones will contract and fuse. --- Information derived by a talk conducted by Orient Qigong.
  9. Of course it's possible, because salads, wraps and apple dippers without the caramel sauce are healthy. If he had eaten the regular meals offered by Macs, this wouldn't be the result. Choice of food also determines your health condition. That's why I never put the blame on fast food chains like Macs of KFC. Sure they weaken us with temptations, but the greatest responsibility still lies in parents teaching their kids to choose the right types of food to eat when they are young. It's a good thing that Macs is offering healthier food now, though if I wanted to eat healthy food, Macs wouldn't be my first choice.
  10. When one is too stressed or can't sleep, one of the most common solutions one turns to is sleeping pills, which promise the seduction of restful sleep. However, sleeping pills do not really deliver what they promise. How sleeping pills work Sleeping pills require a doctor's prescription (at least in my country, that's the case, so you can see how careful one must be when using sleeping pills). Sleeping pills suppress the potential activity of brain cells, sedating both the central nervous system and the brain, leading to a decreased heart and breathing rate. Drowsiness is induced and the user eventually falls asleep. However, it affects the user's thinking, feeling and physical movements. The user may also experience a slower reaction time and his memory and performance can be impaired. When consumed in large amounts or mixed with alcohol (think Heath Ledger), the results can be fatal. Why are sleeping pills addictive? The human body usually develops a tolerance that leads to a need to increase the dosage amount. This problem is often associated with long-term users of sleeping pills. Sleeping pills can cause serious withdrawal symptoms such as shakiness, panic attacks, nervousness and anxiety when stopped abruptly. Problems with sleeping pills Most of the sleeping pills have residual effect, with at least half the efficacy remaining in the blood during the day. Only a few brands of sleeping pills leave the blood fast enough to be almost gone in the morning. Suppressing the activity of our brain cells, sleeping pills make us sleepy, less alert and react slower by suppressing the activity of our brain cells. People usually pop one of these pills to help them sleep so that they can function better the next day. Ironically, these pills often do the exact opposite. Users tend to wake up groggy and disoriented, have impaired thinking and performance, and may even become depressed in severe cases. So if you want to score for an important presentation the next morning, avoid popping these pills even if you have difficulty sleeping the night before. Bizarre happenings have also been reported as disastrous effects of sleeping pills. These mighty pills can make people do strange things such as sleep walking. Some may sleepwalk to the refrigerator and gorge themselves with huge amounts of food. In other tragic cases, victims intoxicated with sleeping pills were found to be sleep driving and ended up in fatal accidents. Recognizing sleeping pill addiction If you find yourself identifying with three or more of the following, it is highly probably that you are suffering from sleeping pills addiction and you need to seek professional help from a doctor. 1. You are suffering from depression or anxiety. 2. You need to take a sleeping pill before falling asleep. 3. You feel uneasy if you stop taking sleeping pills. 4. You continue to take sleeping pills even when you don't need them. 5. You find that you are unable to fall asleep if you don't take sleeping pills. 6. You have been increasing the dosage of sleeping pills. Research materials: The Dark Side of Sleeping Pills By Daniel F. Kripke A Woman's Guide to Sleep Disorders by Meir H. 12. Heh the point of this forum is to share recipes with people who love cooking. If you aren't really adept at cooking yet, you could start off with some simple recipes, preferably the kind of food that you usually eat. I've seen some easy ones here and on other food blogs.
  13. As people always say, the first impressions count, so your website should look nice or at least presentable in order to attract visitors to browse around your website. However, to truly appeal to visitors, it should be unique and have good content that people care to read.

  16. Mustard leaves are salty as they are generally seasoned with natural preservatives
  17. I like Asience. I rebonded my hair recently and it was really dry and brittle, but after using it, it feels very smooth to the touch, and my split ends are not so horrible now.
  18. LOL she started this thread more than 2 years ago!

  20. I don't know any invalids personally but i injured my leg once and had to walk around with a heavy plaster and a crutch. It was very inconvenient and difficult for me to walk. Every step took me a lot of effort. At home, I even find it inconvenient to get up and go to the toilet. I get very frustrated sometimes. Fortunately, I have a supportive family, and enough money to take a taxi everywhere I go. The 3 months I spent in plaster felt like forever to me. I can imagine that life must be much harder on people who are invalid for life. Somehow, they always seem stronger than us normal people who have our organs and limbs intact. I think we should all be understanding towards invalids and learn to treasure our body.
  21. I still play PC games only. I'm not having sour grapes, but I think too much finger work on your consoles can hurt your finger joints and muscles (Ok pc games are not much better but the effect with handheld consoles is more pronounced)! Don't forget to exercise and massage them after playing and don't spend TOO much time playing or you won't get to play your games when you get old!
  22. You could leave your website url for us and we can see if it's just you who is unable to view your website
  23. I would like to watch movies if the book is a little too heavy for me. I thought the Lord of the Rings movies are a great adaptation of the book. They not only helped me to visualize the story better but I also thought they were relevant to the book, and were everything that I pictured, or a better version of what I pictured. The only grouse I had was the extra romance scenes and some characters that were cut out, but I understand how romance is so important to hollywood *rollseyes* and that it's difficult to squeeze such a heavy book into 3 movies, so overall, I still think its great. There are some movie adaptations that really irritate me. The Narnia movies were disappointing to me. The 2nd one was even more boring and darker. If a movie is found to be less interesting and fun than a book, then the movie production team needs to do some serious reflection. The Memoirs of a Geisha movie just became a horrible sappy romance story and all the costumes were wrong, wrong, wrong! They believe they left out the most important theme/message of the book, so that's one of the most appalling crimes in a book to movie adaptation.Basically for me, if the adaptation is good, I will like it. If it removes/alters plots and characters for no apparent reason, I'll be upset and extremely irritated. If directors want to do a book adaptation, jolly well stick to the book. If they want to be 'creative' about it, they should get a brand new script.
  24. Um I disagree with your rent! You are expecting too much! She gave you a larger sundae at the cost of the small one you ordered and at no fuss. Can't you see that she is using her actions to apologize to you? Perhaps she was unsettled by her mistake and forgot to apologize about it, but at least she made up for it. I believe she offered to upsize the sundae for free because she felt bad about wasting your time. So that already shows that she is apologetic, isn't it? Yes it would be perfect if she said 'sorry' because that's what everyone should do when they are in the wrong, but I've met imbeciles who only apologize profusely but won't do anything to help you solve the mess they themselves put you in. I suppose you experience very good customer service at the place you come from. Maybe that's why you are so critical. If this happened to me where I come from, the person will probably insist 'But you ordered the shake!' or give me the blank look and go 'What?!' or slam a new sundae down on the counter, or say 'sorry but I already keyed it into the register so I can't change it for you'. I wonder what you'd do in my position. lol
  25. someone who's sexually attracted to oneself must have an extremely high self esteem! I wish I did! lol I wouldn't think so though. You could be sexually attracted to yourself only and not other people who are the same sex as you. In my humble opinion, I think it just means that you are narcissistic. Does this somewhat reflect your impression of being sexually attracted to one's self?
