Well I have two options to celebrate my New Years...1. Well, this would be no fun...work. I work in a downtown city restaraunt next to a central park which is having a city-wide gathering to celebrate the coming of 2006...and just wait until after midnight...those folks are going to come running...hopefully I don't have to be there (I'm on call)2. If I don't work, then it's off to Pittsburgh for some party time. I've made this trip for the last two years and hope to make it three. Wow, some good times...To all who celebrate, take it easy and don't get into too much trouble :DHappy New Year everyone!

Everything can't be perfect, even our knowledge of time. This is exactly why there's an extra day every four years in February...Blah, I don't find this a big deal, what's an extra second going to do in my life?P.S. Why can't the extra day every four years be in like June or July, instead of Febraury...I hate an extra day of Winter...why not give me an extra day to golf or go swimming...

Wow I could care less about the tooth, jeez...125 years old!!! There's too many odd things happening in the world today, and that's why the sprouting tooth doesn't surprise me, but what does is the disgusting age of that woman! I mean, honestly, I've seen old folks in their 90's, and the saggage, my friends, is brutal...who can imagine the appearance she brings to the table...Congrats on the excellent surprise old woman...your body has been falling apart now for over 70 years, it's nice to see something growing... :D :(By the way, any chance someone could link the proof of this occurance for all to read, it's definitely interesting...

I think I qualify for good poster recognition. First of all, I've only ever been modded once, once in almost 300 posts. The problem was that I included a referral link for IPBGaming.com, and unfortunately, no referral links are allowed, even for our neighboring site. Actually I was warned for doing it, which surprised me since that was the first time, and in this case, unintentionally, I had a post edited. I think moderators can be a little strict at times, but hey, all the more power to them. This place has to be kept nice and tidy, so when discipline is necessary, it should be exectuted. I do agree, somewhat, that moderators should be just a tad bit less strict. Now I'm not one to ever disagree with a moderator or admin's decision making, but sometimes things are elevated past what they should be. I was, not highly, but surely, upset at the fact that my first-time TOS offense got me a warning penalty. There are also ways members should conduct themselves when dealing with discipline that's handed out by moderators. Too many times I read about members crying to the community that a moderator did this and a moderator did that...wow am I tired of those. Please, respect the decisions made by the staff, and if you disagree with something, keep it between you and the staff, don't go wasting everyone's time posting another encounter that went sour. In my situation I PM'ed the staff member who had warned me, and I explained the situation. It was evident that for my first time offense, 8 months and 275 posts into membership, that my warning was unnecessary. Unlike many upset members who whine about their punishment, the incident between me and the staff member is the proper way to address points. It's very easy to follow the rules, trust me. I've been doing it for almost 9 months now and I've only ever made one minor error in almost 300 posts. I live a busy, complicated life like everyone else on here so don't give me that excuse that that's why you can't follow TOS correctly. It's a simple thing to do. You got to believe .

If you want a moderating position here the first thing you NEVER do is ASK to be a moderator. If you want to potentially be a moderator, things come into play...how old are you? How long have you been with Xisto? Are you active enough? What's your reputation as a member?Those are just a few of many things that should be taken into consideration when selecting moderators. So, if you ever want to be of higher rank here, work to have a good reputation. Be consistent in following our TOS when posting and be courteous and helpful with others. If you do so, moderators and admins will surely see this and down the road take you into consideration.

Cerb,One good way to manage your time well is to choose topics you are interested in responding to and concentrating on making a solid, lengthy post. From looking over your post history it seems that you like to write a sentence or two and move on. I have found that it is easier and better to respond to posts that you are interested in and expanding your thoughts on it. Be creative and put your brain to work. I've found that making quality long posts consumes less of my precious time, eliminating the need to post "alot". Rarely will I pop in a conversation with a single sentence...So it seems you need to have a safe amount of credits to prevent having your account suspended...try doing what I do and maybe you won't have to spend so much time looking for posts to reply to and earning minimal credits for every little post you make...

I totally agree wild20. The moon has already been explored and please, move on...what is there for China to see? Does China want to go to the moon for the sake of reaching it? I think it'd be a waste of their money. Get some assistance from anyone they can get some help from, dont waste millions of dollars on something for self pride...do something that's breakthrough...

AOL is slowly realizing that competitors have a much bigger edge. Honestly, who wants to pay AOL's price for dial up internet when for the same price they can get hi speed internet??? It's a no brainer, and AOL realizes they're being outdone. There's no real way for AOL to up the ante on their competitors. Dial up internet is outdated and is fizzling out. Netzero only stands a chance at surviving because of cheaper rates. AOL is way overpriced, and despite nice features, it's no premier ISP.

Most 1.3 mods will work for 1.2, so there's no worries there I think. If Gyad wants to install it for you, then by all means let Gyad do it, but always remember its better for you to continue to search for your problem before giving up, if you can find what mistakes you make, you'll become much better at doing things like this, trust me. I've done a ton of modifications to my own forum, although IBShop hasn't been one, yet...I am always here for any assistance with 1.2 IPB's, PM if you need to.

I do have some questions though.Firstly, I am looking to purchase one of the cheaper plans, one that runs for $29 a year. The question is is it possible to upgrade your plan, and in addition, can you upgrade your plan on mulitple occassions? I don't want to buy space and bandwidth I'll never use, and my forum is young and growing. How fast will my website grow after I switch to Xisto - Web Hosting?, I don't know, but I want to buy what I need now, and if I need more, which might be the case, upgrade to suit my needs.Secondly, can a Xisto account be automatically transferred to my new Xisto - Web Hosting account? For me, I was able to handle the situation quite easily, and I'll tell you how to make your life easier as well...back up your files and database!!! I was lucky enough to backup everything early Monday morning. When the server went bonkers last night (right before my eyes too, I was on my forum when it went back in time) I was worried a tad until I remembered I had done a database backup for the forum. So I say to you all, backup your database every so often! It's not that hard either and takes a couple seconds. When something like this happens, and you've prepared for such instances, you won't lose any sweat, trust me

I am quite the traveler as I commute to college and work 4 days a week. Along the way I've seen the most frustrating of drivers. It gets quite emotional when drivers fail to drive anywhere near the speed limit, choosing to travel at their slowest pace possible. I've seen drivers drive over 20 mph under the limit, no joke.Whats even more frustrating is people who don't use their turning signals. I was traveling to college this summer and was behind a slow poke driver. As the road straightened the double yellow line turned into a single dashed line. As I went to pass this driver, he turned right into me as he was trying to turn onto an off-street. Although he had driven into me, without his turning signal on, legally it was my fault since the dashed line has the tagged phrase "pass with caution". Evidently I didn't do so, which I feel is a load of bunk.There are fundamentals to driving. People should be aware of them. When you're turning, put on your turning signal. If you choose to drive 10-20 miles under the limit, pull off to the side of the road and let the 20 cars behind you pass. It's just courtesy...

I looked at skins to import, but none look good in relation to the team's colors, so I had to do a skin myself.Thanks for the compliment on the banner, Biscuitrat took the time to make it for me .I can re-order the modules, in due time I'll find what's best, I'm still reorganizing things everyday.I added in an arcade with around 50 games and my own "army system" game and modified it to be a hockey "army system". Yes, in your cpanel access the ftp/web stats and click on awstats, personally my favorite of the three choices. After accessing the stats page, update the statistics. A few scrolls down you'll see daily visits, pages, and bandwidth used. From that you can know what your bandwidth usage is at all times

My first computer was a Gateway 2000, only it wasn't from the year 2000, it ran Windows 95 with 2gb of space, even though that computer was HUGE! It was $1,700 too! It was top of the line back when it was bought in I believe 1997, but wow, look at computers now, unbelievable. The price has gone down so much. I actually still have that computer because we've yet to transfer documents from it to the new one, but its taking up a lot of space!

I also play pokerroom.com only for play though, I have no real money invested. It also is a nice poker site but I don't like the setup as much as pokerstars.com. I'm not a big fan of "people" as the user's image, pokerstars lets you choose an avatar, which makes the table a little less complicated and smaller so-to-say.

Well firstly, you have to be good to win money! Secondly, I play the pokerstars.com game, and yes, these poker sites are totally legitmate, the money you make can make its way into your pocket. What you need to mention, though, is what you need to do in order to be able to transfer it to your home. I have a neteller account, something that is very easy to setup and use.I personally rate Pokerstars the best poker online gaming community out of the whole pack. Although a few months back I was kind of unhappy at their game selection, i.e., not as many buy-in choices as other poker sites, but they have recently heard the community's cries and have added additional buy-ins, especially a lot for the low-stakes players, which seem to be around more than the higher-stakes players.

Be glad you don't get your education in America. Here, for a state-owned college, you can expect to spend anywhere from 10-20,000 per year in expenses. Currently I attend a college where my cost per year is around 12,000. But as stated earlier there are colleges with tuition rates that are unbelievable (those that are private schools), some rates top 30-40,000, including colleges that are unheard of! I know of a university that charges over 30,000 a year and has roughly 2,000 total students. Most of America has never heard of this school, yet it is extremely expensive to go there.It's unfortunate your universities are changing things, but that's just the way things are. Everyone adjusts to changes. Tuition rates in Pennsylvania, in particular, state-owned schools, rates climb around 5-10% a year (in my estimation). As each year passes it become more rediculous, the cost of an education is climbing rapidly, yet minimum wage remains the same. Congress is debating the issue on whether to cut funds for organizations handing out loans and grants to those who are qualified. It gets worse and worse every year.

How about the price tag for someone looking to build their own computer? I know it would vary, but what about the essentials? How much would the descent essential parts cost?I've thought in passing the idea of building my own computer, but I've always overlooked the fact that I can buy one already assembelled, requiring limited effort from me . But if the price is right, and the savings are substantial, I would definitely try to build my own. I just don't know the cost differential and never tried to figure it out (for one I don't know the quality difference between brands)...

No no, I'd never do a click link for "rookies", this version doesn't have that capability to the best of my knowledge. The only way to gain an advantage is by posting in the forums. For every 2 posts you gain a rookie. Because the rookie gain is slower than usual (once per week, based on member activity), I made the 2 posts=1 rookie in order to be able to gain an advantage on other players. Furthermore, the forum posting isn't up to par and my hope are to stir conversation with this setting. The nice thing about the settings I have is because the rankings are based on how many players/fans you have, not necessarily the skill of the players. That means even if you join late, you can still be competitive. - elevenmil
