I have heard of this and at one time I did precipitate in something like this. My computer was at that time a very outdated for the time model so it kind slowed it down. The current computer I have now has a lot of problems and needs a upgrade badly. I think that if and when update my computer I would not mind participating. I would of course do some research on the company first before I commit to anything. It always pays to know more about a company and see if there are any complaints on it. Sometiimes what sounds really good may actually be a load of bull. Plus well if someone has a problem with the company its good to find out what that problem is just in case its security or privacy issue. Especially if it makes your computer vulnerble. Anyway thats my two cents.

I think that the idea behind having a car that can also be a boat or a submersable is a very good one. Its a fun idea. Then family road trips could be alot more fun. Hey kids lets go to the local lake and drive around on it. Families could learn more about under water creatures etc. There would have to be more regulations and stuff but I digress. What I would rather see is even more fuel efficient cars and cars that run on alternate fuel sources. I am worried about the environment and the earth. The resources are dwindling.

So I was reading all your comments to this thread. One of you suggested to bring the temp down to work with your case open. Well what about dust? Dust is not so good for yoru computer you know. Plus if you have fuzzy pets even if you keep them out of your room with the computer the fur has a tendency to go whereever it pleases. You are far better off making sure you have a good cpu fan and a good power supply fan. Its also a good idea to make sure that none of the dust or dust bunnies have started to ubstruct your fan vents every couple of weeks or so. Overheating will kill your computer and will cause alot of errors. I will cause a blue screen too. Its important to keep your computer cool. Also it helps to turn off your computer occationally to allow it to cool down. If you are not using your computer anyway why leave it on.

I was just reading an article on Yahoo News calledWay-Out Weather: Cold Fronts in Space It is about how scientists are trying to find ways to predict and give warning about plasma storms. It also explains what a plama storm is. A plasma storm is caused by solar winds. The sun sends off plasma and wind and it flys toward the earth. When the solar winds hit the earth's upper atmosphere it causes magnetic disturbances in the atmosphere which in turn causes disturbances in radio waves and other terestrial communcations. I believe most people have heard of times when the news has warned us that communications might go a little haywire. Well this is the reason why. I realize my explaination is not the most technical but you can read the article by clicking the above link. I just thought it was very interesting and wanted to share.

I want to explain first things first.... I actually have used Hewlett Packard products in the past. In fact I had a used printer from someone else that I was able to use for 4 years before it died. I have always felt that HP products were well built and have liked the results I got from their products.Okay about 7 months ago my roommate saw an advertisement for the above printer for Best Buy. It was a very good price for the printer. She asked me to go along to look at the printer and help her decide if she would buy it. Since I had had such good luck with HP products in the past I looked at the printer and it appeared to be a good buy so I recommended it to her. And it was great too for 3 months it worked beautifully. It did everything that is said it did. We did have some problems with the scanning abilities but we thought maybe that was a software problem. She only really needed it for printing and making copies anyway and so was not too concerned about it. I did recommend to her to talk to HP about it but she figured she could wait on it for now. It was summer time after all and she was busy. Well three months in the power supply died. This in itself is not really a big deal these things happen. It could have been any number of things that caused it. A power surge or the power supply was just bad. Since the computer seemed to be okay we figured the power supply just died. It happens occationally with electronics so we thought nothing of it. So we went to the store on the off hand chance that we might be able to buy the power supply seperately. No such luck.So she called up HP customer service and they said they would send her a new power supply as soon as possible. I was about two weeks because the power supply cords were not in stock. (take note of this) Anyway two weeks later she got the new power supply. Apparently it was a new and improved design of the power supply. She plugged it in and not only did it fry the printer but it melted the power supply as well. Not to mention almost frying her too. Keep reading this is only the beginning.Okay so she gave them the benefit of the doubt and called them up and told them what happened. They said they would send her a new printer right away. A few days later the printer arrived without a power supply. You would think that if you tell them that your printer and your power supply were fried they would send you a new power supply too. Apparently not. So she called them up again and asked for a new power supply. Well they said it would take a month possibly longer because the power supply was not in stock. ( do we see a pattern forming here? ) Okay so she waited a week or two and called again to make sure that the power supply was still not in stock. The last person had recommended that she do this so she was following up as recommended. Again the customer service said a month or longer. She waited another two weeks and two power supplies came. They were both the new and improved versions. Because I was not sure if she plugged everything in properly I decided I would do the setting up this time. I very carefully plugged the printer into the power supply and then the surge protecter. I then turned the printer on. It worked! Great right. HA HA. I then tried to plug in the USB cord. That is when the sparks flew and the printer and the power supply both fried. So I got on the phone with HP customer service and explained the situation to them. The offered to send yet another printer and power supply. I esplained to them that obviously the new and improved version of the power supply was not working for this model and that they needed to send me the old version of the power supply that came with the printer originally. The customer service person assured me that they were going to be sending me the old version.She got the new printer and the new power supply and well the power supply was the new and improved version. Since we have almost been fried twice by this version of the power supply do you think we are stupid enough to try again. Heck no!! So she is going to send back all three printers and all 5 power supplies and tell them what she thinks of their product. Unless you feel like becoming (insert name here) fried on a stick do not buy this product!

I have to agree with you they are just like livejournal because they use the same engine as livejournal. They also have private messaging between users in greatestjournal. I like it but since I have a livejournal account and a lot of my entries are already there I choost to stick around livejournal more. I do like greatest journal don't get me wrong. It is indeed a nice service and has alot of the other great services that you have to pay for on livejournal. However I do have a lot of friends on livejournal. I could make friends on greatest journal I am sure. However I am firmly set in livejournal. Anywy if you have not found a journaling place yet I recommend greatest journal too.

The technology for video calling has been around for a while. Many companies use video conferancing to consult with business partners in a differant country or differant part of their country. Most of the time it is on a computer through high speed internet. There are a few video phones out there now. But its really not a great investment because not that many people have a video phone. I think that someday it will become a thing that most people will have. But the option will still remain to hide your face and make it voice only. There is so much that is still needed before it becomes a reality that everyone will see.

I have to disagree the picture was not that bad. I have seen way worse. I think that the life of a star is a very facinating thing to learn and watch in a computer simulated film. I think how planets, stars, even solar systems are formed is very facinating. The whole space and science thing is extremely facinating to me. I would love to go to the moon and help build a space station there. I think it would be fabulous if they could put a telescope on there. There is so much that we still do not know and so much more to learn about space and our own planet. We should learn more about the other planets too because our world will not support us forever. Trips to space by everyday people are quickly becoming a reality. When I say that I mean that within the space of time in millions to billions of year. A few hundred to a few thousand really is the blink of an eye. Recently the X-Prize was awarded to a private space plane that made it to space with a pilot and one passenger. Many private companies are out there trying to make space planes and ships. With them working toward this goal it would not surprise me at all if there are private companies trying to find a way to learn more about space and the stars above us. Looking at other people's sigs is one way to get inspiration. Another way is to look at other graphic designs too. At least that is one way that I get inspired when created graphics for sigs and my websites. I think that many people learn alot from experimentation and trial and error. You have to work at graphics and using graphic programs to do well at it. Then again I do know that there are a few of those uber talented people out there that can just do it without thinking. Those are the people that I envy.

Ah Love a many splendid thing and the source of millions of people's anxiety and frustration. Its the source of many communication problems between men and women. When I got my first degree in college I had to take a interpersonal communications class. One of the things that we learned about was love. There are several types of love and I outlined them from a book on one of my websites. If you do not know someone very well and have feelings for them then more than likely it is purely attraction and infactuation. When two people spend time getting to know each other and as they grow closer they will somtimes learn from each other deep inner thoughts and feelings. They share their hopes and dreams. Often times this is also when they share their secrets that they have not told other people. The greatest thing about two people growing close like this is communication. If two people can talk about everything and share many of the same hopes and dreams that creates a bond and also creates intimacy. You see intimacy is not just a physical thing. It is also in how close we allow people into our lives and ourselves. Every person has something to hide. However the closer you become to another individual the more readily you are willing to reveal what is inside of you. Its also a matter of trust. Without trust true intimacy and love are difficult to acheive. As many of the above people have mentioned even with what I have said love is definately differant for each person. However, it is possible to fall in love more than once. Each time you fall in love will be differant. You do not really fall out of love with someone you just change your perspective of them and the feelings wax and wane. In a relationship that lasts there will be lulls. That is something that many people do not understand. Love in a relationship is not always exciting. It has cycles just like life. I hope that this gives you some more ideas to think about at least.

Its sounds really nice. Its nice to know how the people who don't know how to build websites from scratch do it. Then again most of what I learned was by using those web builders and then reading and tweeking the code. I am proud of my knowledge. Its interesting how we as human beings are so very interested in any kind of trasure hunt. In a way treasure is also alot like archilogical digs. Its trully amazing the things you can learn from archology and treasures. Things like that really do interest me. Thanks for sharing this link and story.

Well that is an interesting thing to learn. Its amazing the differant words that are in the english language. On My Yahoo you can add a little thing that has a new word of the day each day. I have learned alot of words that way.

It is very often easy to find tribal and other cutures practices cruel, disgusting or even weird because of our own modern tastes and lives. But you have to realize that often times when people see what we are like they think we are weird and disgusting. Often times our ancestors did far worse things than current tribal people's do. Its all a matter of what we grow up with and what we were taught to believe. Our society was built on our own types of traditions. Just as their society is built on thier types of traditions. If you had grown up in their society you would not think it so unusual or gross because you would know no differant.

Well most sites just put the copyright symbol up on their site. In fact if I own my website domain and I put up content written by me then I own the copyright to that material. Also when you are on a site that you can share work with other people you also own the copyright to that material. I don't think the creative commons thing really does much good.

Slightly off topic but since you seem to like spudguns you should look into trebucets. They are kind of interesting.

Actually what you said about spiders not surviving if they loose a leg. One leg loss really won't be much of a problem. Since arthropods which spiders are, have a exoskelaton which means that their outsides are a hard shell to protect the soft insides. When they grow they have to molt or shed their outer exoskelaton and then make a new one. Basically they form the new exosketaton and while its still soft they expand themselves creating a crack in the current hard exoskelaton. This is of course after they have formed the new soft on and detached themselves from it. Then once they crack the exoskelaton open they pull themselves out of it. If they lost a leg after their last molt they will have a new leg when they come out of this molt. Once the insect or in this case the spider is out of the old exoskelaton they then hang there and let the new exoskelaton dry and harden. Thus a spider can get its leg back.

All spiders are poisonous in some form or another. Most are harmless to humans. Take into consideration though that even the most harmless spiders and poisons can be hazardous to some people. It depends on the person and their make up. It is very possible that a person could be allergic to a poison that is harmless to most people. Plus if you are exposed enough to something that you are mildly allergic to the allergy can become worse. Daddy Long Legs are also known as Harvestmen so if you are looking them up you can look them up under that name too. Insects are an interesting group of Arthropods. Its probably the largest and most diverse group of animals in existance.

Alot of these natural disasters have always been happening but because of the recent big ones its in the news alot. Its actually pretty normal too for the earth to get noisy again after a quiet period. Usually there are alot of little earthquakes that never make it to the news and once in a while a really big one. When a big one hits then there should be a lull for a while because the tension between the plates has been relieved. Once the tension starts again then the normal small earthquakes you hardly ever hear about start again. Most of the time you don't even feel them. The plates are always moving. As far as the weather goes well the ozone layer is getting depleated and so the weather will just grow steadily worse. Every year the hurricanes seem to get worse. This year the hurricane season seems to be more difficult because of all the other disasters and well the levies broke and that really made a mess.

As far as myspace goes for the most part I think its a decent website. Its only been around for a couple of years. When a website is always in development as it grows it tends to sometimes go down alot. I joined the site when it was still pretty new. So much has changed since then. Because the growth of members and people on the site was so great in such a short time there are alot of growing pains. I like the fact that you have a site wide email/messaging as well as a website that is customizable and you can have a blog. There is also the bullitens. Those are a very nice feature. This way you can send a message to everyone on your friends list without having to send them individually. It would be nice to be able to send more than one message to more than one friend instead of the bullitens. But give them time and that will improve too. I also would love to see instant messaging improve. It would be nice to be able to instant message with more than one person at once on the site. You can on other sites. But I am willing to be patient on that. For the most part I actually like the site alot.

I have noticed that occationally when a script has been run for a while it will corrupt over time. That is why it is a good idea to follow the above advice and check the script. Sometimes you have to make some adjustments. All websites have to be maintained at some level. Especially when a script is being used pretty regularly.

When it comes to websites with privacy and passwords and stuff a good site will tell you right off the bat that none of their staff will ask you for your password. Some will ask for your username just to help you with your account but never the password. If they are a costomer service rep and its in your account record they would get it from that anyway. There really should be a handbook that all new internet users should get with both the jargon that all internet users use and all the things to watch out for. LOL

If you have a spectacular design or you have a competitor that is trying to steel your business encrypting your code is good business practice. Trust me I know this because it happened to a company I worked for alot. They were trying to steal our business so they stole our code and made their websites look like ours. They were cheap immitations that just lead to crappier websites but still the fact was still there that they were stealing our code so we had to find a way to hide the code from them.
