I use SMF for one of my forum. and i find it very easy to use and it has most of the MODS that i need. Only thing is sometimes i have to find the update options or have to try web install. This time i also want to upgrade but didn't find any option in admin panel so i'm going with forum help for asking how to update. I'll update to new public version soon. Other than SMF, i tried punBB and MyBB and i think both of them are good. PhpBB is hands down as it gets very hard to keep up with regular security patches. If i had money to buy IPB or VB then i can purchase anyone from it. But as of now, SMF is doing the job for me.

Turbo C++ 3.0 which is promoted by universities and colleges is ancient compiler and it is not supposed to be used. The standard for C/C++ is changed and new compilers atleast should confirm to c99 standard. Old compilers don't have features from these standards. Newer turbo c++ explorer version like 6.0 and above are good and confirm to current standards. Only thing is that they require CD/ISO installation. They are not of short file or portable like earlier Turbo C++ version. GCC is regularly developed/maintained and it confirms with the standard. It is fast and simple. Also it can be used in console or command prompt mode. Or you can use it with IDE like codeblocks/codelite or devc++. C# is completely different as it used VM and it has features from both C++ & Java. C# is from microsoft and unlike c++ it has it's own garbage collection like java. And have c++ features like overloading operators which is not in java. So such small differences while combining and making new language is done for C#. My download speed is : 14.6 KByte/sec (=117 kbps). And upload speed is :8.8 KByte/sec (=70 kbps).Connection speed 51.0 Conn/min. Results are from speedtest.nl website. I also checked it from network tools and results are almost identical.

Well that much they have to do as Antivirus. But in many times when you open word files then also it takes a lot of time and sometimes it gets hang as well. this is what is bad about norton. i mean they use resources such high that it gets problem for other application to function properly.

I don't think so when it comes to lightweight image viewer then irfanview and xnview are good image viewers. So it's no that all softwares are way behind. it's just that picasa is not for limited use but it takes more resources than irfanview and xnview.

They didn't used it but it is possible to create OS using java and C#. Search google for term "operating system using java" and you'll get results like JOS. So it is quite possible to have operating system using java or c sharp. It's just that we are unaware of possibilities. You're right that microsoft didn't used it for their own OS development.

Nice site TDH. Which CMS you're using ? and which theme you're using for it. I liked the design but i suggest making theme white as dark themes are hardly attractive unless content is worthy. Initially come up with simple/minimalistic design like makeuseof.com. This design is good as well. And you came up with good site after this much waiting period for mycents. Keep it up.

I just want to pop-up this thread as i have a query. I want to know how to upgrde smf . i mean there is no web install for SMF 2.0 current public beta. If there is let me know. i want to know how to update it as admin panel is not showing link for SMF upgrade. So what are the available options for me to upgrade SMF to current public release ?

@Okara, that's nice story and really good to see that it worked out for you. There are many forums which are like ghost town these days. That include my own forum. I do get hits from google search engine but i don't get new members. Good to see that word of mouth and youtube promotion worked out for you.I think those who want to get more topics and members to site should check out services like forum-promotion and promotion-source sites. I'm using them and trying to kill ghost town effect of my forum. Let's see what i need to do more to get members.

Most of today's modern operating systems use C/C++. As far as i know operating system like linux/unix uses C/C++ heavily. There are some projects which uses C#/Java to build the operating system. You can find such operating system by googling.And to talk about Microsoft then they use C/C++. They have their own compiler/debugger and other things made on their own you can say in house. To get the exact answer, you can ask this question on MSDN. You'll likely to get the answer in detail than pointers from here. It's high chances that the software (compiler/debugger/interpreter) are closed source software. You should ask this question to MSDN, stackoverflow or other Microsoft related forums. You'll likely to get answer depending upon the expert contribution people on those forums.

Yes, norton eats a lot of resource. and i never seen it personally detecting any viruses. perhaps, norton is eating so many services and not letting viruses to be seen,who knows.

Both the panels have similar features and cpanel is much easier to use in my opnion. Both these panels support equal number operating systems so you can use any when choosing for VPS/Dedicated option.For major features,which i doubt you'll be using unless moving to vps/dedicated are almost equal in my opinion. Yes, you can buy domain from cz.cc or co.cc or another registrar and can use add-on domain feature to setup domain+hosting.You just have to give xisto nameserver details on co.cc domain setting panel.

are you using adonion for CPC or CPV/CPM ? I think with CPC ads result is same as google adsense. I don't think they do any different than google adsense. So adonion or adbrite both are on similar lines when it comes for CPC.

Now i'm confused. If we buy domain via Xisto - Domains with extension .in,.de or .jp then in that case isn't the content in regional language allowed ? I mean they can verify the content no doubt. But i'm unsure about this now cause as far i know xisto team verify content from india quickly. I'm not sure about other regional content. I think we need Xisto - Support input here.

I just checked again today. My custom period of earning for kontera is disabled after 24th of may. I can't select date earlier than this. So i think there is something wrong with kontera. It is not suitable CPC/CPV whatever it is now. I think it's high time to pull this ad out of Xisto. Instead if they need alternate they can put infolinks or similar solution instead of kontera. I don't know how to contact opaque/or other admin to notify about this. But i think they need to do this before losing more loading time in site with such no-paying ads.

That's right contactskn, they are giving this report based on some cities which are having larger population and are known world wide like mumbai,delhi,Calcutta or Bangalore. The reason we are not able to digest this survey is because of gross generalization. Why i can't see poor and starving in my city but instead i see other disable or blind people ? I do agree that there is lot of poor people in country but report is suspicious for stats.

Some of my friends in college ordered it. There is not much for review. As you get professional version for free from them. They just check your student ID and other things to verify that you're student. They give professional software for free if you're student or using it for academic purpose. The crew which was for promotion, literally gave boxes to teachers and lab staff members. After all they have to survive against free software/gnu thing. Besides student who get this product owns it and get support till the life-cycle of this product. Nice way of promoting VS & other products to students.

Now this is the problem. When you say "we need mens", why so ? can't we start from ourselves ? I'm supporting one such organization and it is still beginning phase,i don't want to talk about it as i don't want self-promotion for such things. Problem is when there comes issue of money all those who talk take some backseat. They have money to give to politicians,religious issue and some other stuff but when it comes to help blind and disable people, everyone take back seat. I have mixed experience of religious organization, some did good work(hindu & christian charities) but they were not promoted instead charities which was involved in conversion was promoted more. So many people started to ask corporate people for help,so to some extent this helped. But the problem is we have billion people here talking and flaunting there financial position and knowledge and when it comes to helping others they simply refuse or make excuse. Beside that greenpeace, i hate people who just blame it on others and don't do their part. We are only worthy in that position if we ourselves do something for others instead of talks. Study your niche first before choosing CPC ads. You've to make genuine comments on other blogs. You've to be active on respective niche blogs and you've to promote your site in earlier stages a lot. YOu've to reward your visitors and readers in some way. You've to be good at content. Some people managed it while some give up easily without trying much harder. So if you are opting for PPC readers then you've to work harder for long time. With CPM all you have to do is give good content and promote the site. So getting visitors question varies from the way you intend to monetize the site. For CPM you need to run a campaign for traffic as you earn from traffic. While for CPC, you need loyal readers who visit and click your ads. So choose which way you want to go and decide strategy based on that. Also don't sign up for programs which scam you with tagline that says they can increase your CPC ration by some percentage.

If your site is having it's own domain name(TLD) then i don't think that this rule applies. In that case, if your content is having some issue then respective issue will be notified to xisto by others. And then it will be taken care of. So for TLD+hosting have no issue of language in my opinion. But if you are taking subdomain then i think this rule could be applied and for that you need to ask Xisto - Support. Now we have problem here. If copyrighted music files without license are hosted in xisto server. Then you'll be taken down from this server. You can't host illegal files on Xisto and on xisto. Sorry to disappoint you but if xisto allows that then this hosting service will be shut down with just 2-3 cases of copyright infringement. So if you want to host your files better try onebox,ifileit,mihd.net sites they're much better than rapidshare and have no limits. And for this you already quoted and got answer for yourself.

They mean money or food ? I don't know about this cause here people are not that starving for food. I think they didn't surveyed any other city than mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi etc. There are many other cities and there is no issue of hunger over there. UNICEF is kidding. They forgot to see overweight people in india. And how they made this stats ? I kinda doubt this report now. Yes, in india people know the problem and solution. The trouble is with implementation. Like with every help they do to others they hold something back. They want something back in return. Be it money or religion conversion or get some work done for free etc. It's habit of people here that give less and take more from the person they recruit them. If they were not selfish like this then there was no hunger/malnutrition at first place. Politicians eating money in the name of building country and helping poor. Individual effort are going down because of this and they hardly make sense in the country with billion population.

After you typed this it made sure that i'm not alone in this. This happen to me as well. As i wanted to host one directory with them, i tried to sign up and no success still account pending. I found gofreeserve and novahost responding asap in such cases. Also support of those two are good in comparison to 000webhost.
