yeah thank you Xisto! I don't think I'd be able to find another FREE webhost out there that offers great features. I would have cut a relatively big portion from my school allowance if this hosting isn't free and I have to pay in dollars since the webhosts here in the Philippines are awful and they don't even offer as much as what's offered here in trap. Does anyone know how ridiculous the Dollar-Philippine Peso exchange rate right now?! I don't even have a credit card and PayPal doesn't work in the Philippines! So thank you Xisto

I'm getting the exact same error in my site too. I have been inactive for a few days here at the forums and I only got to open my computer yesterday. I had negative credits and I kept on posting to have my site back online. I reached 4+ credits yesterday already so I was hoping today I would have been cleared from suspension but instead I get the error same as the ones you get. I don't remember changing any permissions before.

We're doing a "Mock" e-commerce site for our project in Web Development and I was wondering how to make a Search form like the ones in many sites. There will be a Search textbox and a button in the form which will accept a string (keywords) which will then be processed by a script. If there is a match, a page containg the keywords will be displayed. Is there a way to do this using PHP or is there an existing free script out there already? Thanks very much.

For three years now my computer has been running on Windows XP Home Edition. Yeah, it came with my PC when I bought it.

The book I highly recommend is Java: How to Program by Deitel & Deitel. It's a very good reference book and has really helpful sample programs like the banking system you're working on. About your program, you should decide first if you'll go for a flat-file system using objects or a database using SQL and a backend database program like MSAccess or SQL Server. I suggest you use a database now since it would be difficult to transfer data from a file to a database later. But if your teacher asks you to do it using a file system then it's all right.

My first webhost was Geocities and I used their own WYSIWYG program to create my html pages. That was years ago when i know nothing about html and how websites work heh. The thing that I don't like about Geocities is that it has a very limited space and it displays an ad on the right side of the screen. Apart from those it's an okay website for beginners in web publishing. When they're older and wiser they can shift to paid hosting or a good free webhosting like Trap.

I just got approved by google adsense yesterday so I certainly hope it works! I've been rejected by adsense before so I think they have a rather tight criteria for webbies to be approved and so it's probably legit.

Wow! finally a tutorial I can use. I have a question, how do you brighten up a dark picture? I have a picture that I've scanned and it was taken using no flash, is there a way to brighten it up but still make the colors look vivid and not dull?

You could try scripts ready for download and installation like the ones in your cpanel (e.g. coppermine, gallery). There's another cool php script that's easy to install and easy to personalize (tons of cool skins) one referred it to me a few days back and right now I just installed the current version and it works fine. minigal website

I usually set my cellphone's alarm clock two hours before I leave for school. I occasionally have breakfast or whatever is left from it because my mother leaves the house for work at around 8 and so she eats earlier. I don't have to go until 10 am so I take a bath at around 9 then I eat, I groom myself and since the school campus is only a few meters from where we live, I leave the house 10 minutes before my first class of the day and I usually arrive just on time. Oooh I'm glad I don't have any blinking gifs in my site and a colored scrollbar... whew! but I use an inline frame for my shoutbox. I agree with what you guys said about animated gifs being annoying when they're all you see in a website. It's distracting and it takes the focus from the whole site content and it makes the designer seem amateur and the website tacky. sorry!

Hey! If you have Macromedia Dreamweaver, you can simply go to the BEHAVIORS panel and then click on OPEN BROWSER WINDOW. You only have to enter the url of the page you're referencing and the size of the window to open/popup and Dreamweaver automatically creates the JavaScript for you. Dreamweaver has plenty of behaviors for different browser versions and you only have to choose them and the code gets generated automatically. I hope this helps. Good day!

My friend gave me Nesticle its a DOS based program with all the games played in the 80's and early 90's. The games are those I remembered playing with my brother when we were young, Super Mario (original, poor 2D graphics), Battle City (the one where you shoot tanks before they shoot you or your camp), Adventure Island (where you jump to get fruits), Galaxian (where you shoot/avoid spaceships). It's fun to play and it doesn't require much from your PC since it's very light and takes less memory unlike most PC games now. I don't know where my friend got it but I think it's freeware now. Really fun! Does anyone know any website that has Super Mario (Nintendo's Original Mario, the one with Dino) for download?

One time when I was 12 and I had my friend in our house we sort of saw something moving across the sky. It was night time and we thought it was just a falling star or a meteorite 'cuz it was moving in a straight line but after a while it started to orbit this other star. It continued to orbit it until it disappeared. I don't quite know if it was a UFO or a man-made satellite or a plane but it freaked both of us out! Vencheslav .... Crop circle/s according to an expose program I saw on TV is a hoax. They're made by people who get thrills by messing up people's crops. Apparently they only use a plank of wood (to flatten the crops) and ropes. That's what the program said but who knows, there might really be something supernatural about them. Sometimes I love conspiracy theories!

$5000 is a lot of money here in the Philippines. I'd probably invest it in a small business like a chip shop or something 'cuz I've always wanted to own one . My advise I guess is to invest it in a business (like a profitable website maybe if you're into e-commerce or to whatever you like really) or as what others have suggested buy stocks with it.

My site layout I made but some of the components there I just took from the cpanel and installed like the gallery. I've asked a lot of help from the guys here at the forums especially for PHP and MySQL coding since I'm only starting out. My friend asked me to make her a blog so I'll probaby use WordPress or PHP nuke for her site...couldn't decide yet.

Last week was our midterms and it was hell. Being the procrastinator that I am I only had a few hours of sleep that week due to my pre-exam cramming. It also didn't help that I was a nocturnal studyist, studying only when everyone in the house is all silent and fast asleep. I probably had 5 hours of straight sleep time and I was a walking zombie during daytime. I got fever for 2 straight days after my exams, most likely caused by stress and lack of sleep.
