Free Pc To Phone No more heavy bills
Atomic0 replied to iGuest's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I use Skype for VoIP calls between PC to PC, since it is free and doesn't cost anything (except for negligible internet bandwidth costs), compared to using a real phone. I haven't used SkypeOut before, but I have used another VoIP provider called Voipbuster, which I had used for a while. However, as I remember, there is a limit to either the total talk time or number of calls you make before you are forced to pay for usage charges. You should be careful of using such advertising-based or non-common VoIP providers since you will never know if your private conversation may be used by the company or third-parties. It is best to subscribe to a VoIP packages from reputable VoIP providers like Skype. -
I checked my Xisto balance and none of my earnings had been deducted, except for some hosting plan that renewed automatically. I have noticed that sometimes the myCENTs rises a lot in a single post, while in a post in another section, it didn't quite earn as much in terms of myCENTs. It may be possible that the bonus calculation script may have been fixed by OpaQue.I am not sure why some people had their earnings deducted when their myCENTs where deducted during the bug surrounding the bonus giving script.

Windows 7 Beta Now released for download
Atomic0 replied to FirefoxRocks's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I have tried both since I run Windows Vista Ultimate on my main computer, but haven't got the time to try Windows 7 in depth. On the surface, there are many changes to the UI in many place, such as the taskbar and control panel layouts. Generally, it runs more fast and stable than Windows Vista, although I have experienced crashes with Windows 7 in my virtual machine, which I have not been able to find a solution for. From the reviews I have seen on top technology news sites like Engadget and Ars Technica, the underlying part of the operating system hasn't changed much from Windows Vista, apart from improving the speed of running the operating system and changes to the user interface to improve usability. -
As a update to the thread, my myCENTs balance has been reset to ZERO at the moment of posting here, which means than OpaQue has kindly resetted the problem. At a quick glance, I don't see anyone with a negative myCENTs balance, which probably means the problem has been fixed. Thankfully, it means that I can continue posting here without having to try and earn back the 300 myCENTs I originally had in the negative range.Moderators, I think this thread can be closed since the problem has been solved.
-
Probably just a bug in the system, or after the discussion started about negative myCENTs balances, OpaQue may have decided not to have deduct earnings - rather allow users to earn myCENTs back into the positive range. Some people are experiencing deductions from their balance in the Xisto Client Area balance, while some are not. However, I think that, for example, when I earn 32 myCENTs to around negative 300 myCENTs, my balance at Xisto may be decuted, since myCENTs are usually converted at multiples of 100.There appears to be no official announcements or posts on the issue since 9 days ago.By the way, does anyone fully understand OpaQue's post in the thread 'Negative myCENTs'? I don't think I fully understand what he is trying to say.

At negative 342 right now, I have not have my balance at Xisto - Web Hosting (Xisto) deducted of any amount. However, right now I have to earn 342 worth of myCENTs before I can get back to the positive side, and another to 100 myCENTs to order a domain name that I was planning to register soon.
-
From what I have tried out, any new posts will add myCENTs to your balance i.e. your negative myCENTs balance becomes less. This situation is a bit problematic since I would have to post at least 300 worth of myCENTs just to get back on the positive side.

Maybe Flickr.com would be a better option for sharing images. Flickr has now become the most used Photo Sharing site around, although it has some limits on their free accounts. These limits include a 100MB bandwidth limit and displaying of only the most recent 200 images on your page on Flickr (however, other images are still accessible). After having a look at the Uploadlingit.com forums (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/), it seems like many users are having their images deleted from their accounts. The official line that seems to have been adopted by the staff of the site is that images are deleted in the account becomes inactive after 30 days of not logging in, or if they violate the terms of use.I think Photobucket would also be a good image hosting site, since I have used it in the past to upload some thumbnail images.

Thanks for you quick replies to the situation!Should the myCENTs be going up if I was to start posting again? And if so, when I earn 100 myCENTs but am still in the negative range, will I get a conversion to the Xisto - Web Hosting balance?
-
It seems like there is problems with the myCENTs system at the moment. Recently, before 1 day ago, I had a few myCENTs (positive) in my forum account. However, after posting in the 'What's New?" section less than a day ago, I found out today I had dropped down to negative 376 myCENTs. None of my posts have been deleted, and it seems some of the moderators are having the same problem with negative myCENT's after posting too. Is this a bug in the credit system? Thanks for the help.

The latest version of Norton Internet Security, i.e. 2009, runs quite well on my computer, which is running Windows Vista. According to Symantec, it is the most lightweight and less resource utilising version. With most Norton products, you can choose the time that the antivirus programs decides to scan your computer. Usually, it will run a quick scan on startup, and when your computer is idle and not being used.

I remember trying Windows Vista when it was in beta on my old Pentium 4 computer with 2GB RAM. The experience was very bad, with the operating system lagging and freezing up for a while every time I launched a program and opened a file. However, now with my new computer with a Core 2 Duo processor, Windows Vista is running very smoothly without major problems, although it did have Blue Screens of Death for a while which I fixed with a driver update (after which Windows Vista happily updated to a older driver and made the BSODs appear again, forcing me into another manual update).I suppose one of the reasons for the performance of Windows Server 2008 is that it doesn't utilise the Aero Glass desktop enhacement theme (which is known to chew up graohical processing power). Also, Windows Server 2008 was designed with stability and performance in mind, rather than for just the new looks and features of Windows Vista. Hopefully, Windows 7 will be better than Windows Vista in terms of usability and performance.

Hamachi Local Networking... world wide
Atomic0 replied to nightfox1405241487's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I don't use Hamachi anymore since all the multiplayer games I have like Counter Strike Source and Team Fortress 2 run on the Steam platform and I can easily connect with friends using their integrated Steam community, which makes it easier for you to connect to the same server as you friends. -
Windows 7 Beta Now released for download
Atomic0 replied to FirefoxRocks's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I tried the new Windows 7 Betas in a VMware virtual machine I set up on my computer. It works very nicely, except for the Aero Glass theme, which doesn't work since the graphical requirements are not met by the virtual machine. Unfortunately, most of the new desktop effects don't work as a result. One problem I have found is that when I try and open one of the games, the whole operating system and virtual machine crashes and hangs. -
It should have noted that another limit of Windows Live Skydrive is the maximum 50 megabytes per file limit on uploads. At the moment, I am using Windows Live Skydrive to backup some vital documents before I go on vacation for a few days. However, I have still used Windows Live Mesh's own synchronisation as my first backup and Norton Ghost as my secondary backup.

Cents, Earnings And Credits Confusing one with another
Atomic0 replied to Animator's topic in Web Hosting Support
Thanks for the reply!I can peacefully vacation for a few days without having to worry about the billing for the hosting, since I have enough balance for a few months of hosting.Happy holidays! -
At the moment, its US$49.99 on Steam. From my experiences at playing, Far Cry 2 is a fairly good games, with just some minor disappointments and annoyances. I suppose one of the more annoying things is how the entire gameplay world is somewhat littered with guard posts, which a place at major intersections at road. Unlike other games like Grand Theft Auto 4, where you can roam freely as you wish, you can't peacefully drive around the world would being shot at by the guards at each guard post, as the guards are automatically hostile to you as soon as they see you even though you haven't shot at them with weapons. This sort of makes traveling from one place to another place especially during missions difficult without getting shot out by mercenaries and getting your vehicle damaged, which makes you have to fix it everytime it starts smoking from the engine. Also, I have noticed that the missions are getting a bit repetitive, almost like 'kill this person' and 'blow some stuff up". Basically, most of the missions that you do as a mercenary hired by the two different factions is do to with killing someone important to the other faction or destroying some infrastructure belonging to the opposing factions. Also, with the missions that you do for the Underground in exchange for malaria pills (to suppress the dizzy spells your character suffers), they are just missions getting to safely deliver travel documents from one place to another and kill everyone in your path.In terms of customisation, the game has a variety of weapons that you can choose from, with the weapons divided into 3 main categories. Like some other games with achievement systems, the guns in Far Cry 2 have to be bought with diamonds found around the map which are then unlocked for use. One thing people may not like about Far Cry 2 is the ability for the weapon to jam, which is annoying when you are in a middle of a firefight. What I found was more annoying was when the weapon simply breaks apart when I'm using it, and the character simply throws it away, leaving you weaponless in the middle of nowhere. After playing around 10 hours of the game, it starts to get boring and annoying having the travel around the game world, which is quite large compared to other games, where the maps are sort of linear and straight forward, unlike the open world nature of Far Cry 2. I would however recommend the game to those who enjoy open-world games where you can roam at your own will.

Cents, Earnings And Credits Confusing one with another
Atomic0 replied to Animator's topic in Web Hosting Support
I have had no problems after ordering a hosting plan with new Credit System, although I encountered a few problems trying to setup properly the Google Mail to work properly on my domain, which were eventually fixed. However, I do have one question that I haven't seen an answer to. Does the hosting system automatically bill when the recurring amount is due and take it from the existing account balance? Thanks in advance. -
I'm just wondering whether the Free Webhosting Requests subforum should be removed since the new Credit System V3.0 is online now. Instead of having to reply to every new application with the new instructions, maybe it would be easier if the posts were removed and the forum redirected to a page with instructions regarding the new Credit System. It would probably be easier for new users and moderators.Looking at the navigation on the forum, it would be better if there was a link to the Xisto - Web Hosting (Xisto) Client Area for convenience. Also, should the myEarnings statistics to the left of our own posts be showing the total dollars earnt or the balance? It isn't really useful to see the total you have earnt, rather it should be showing the balance of your Xisto - Web Hosting account.Anyway, you have made an excellent effort in upgrading the themes and features of the forum!

I have read recently on technology news sites and aggregators that Windows Live Skydrive has been upgraded to 25 gigabytes of storage for each user, a five-fold increase in storage space. It is better than most free storage providers since it makes available more space and has no limit on the bandwidth consumed in file transfer, unlike some other provides e.g. Box.net, which has a 10GB per month bandwidth limit on the free accounts. However, I don't think I will be changing to the Windows Live Skydrive storage account quite yet because I prefer using the Windows Live Mesh system which automatically synchronises files for me, which I use for backup purposes in conjunction with Norton Ghost.

It seems like my account has not been update, though it has been at least over 24 hours since I signed up with the new Logic Plan. Also, there was no 'Notes' section on the order form, so I opened a support ticket regarding the upgrade including my current cPanel username/password.I have noticed that even though I have opened a support ticket, the statistics in the client area show I have no support tickets.

There seems to be people adding inappropriate images as part of their spam posts. Would there be any way to stop this?

My Hosting Credit Is -100 Help MY hosting credit is -100 Help
Atomic0 replied to kanade's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Negative credits should be totally ignored, since the new hosting system is up and the old system has been partially deactivated, with negative credits not suspending your hosting account.
