  1. In terms of health and fitness, I think I have invented the perfect energy food:MayonnaiseTunaPeanut ButterSugarChicken BrothUnfortunately it doesn't taste all that great, but, hey, it smells fine. But mostly, I like mexican food, carbilicious noodle dishes, and chinese takeout.
  2. Yeah, sometimes other people screw up, but you just gotta forgive them. If they're your "friends" then that shouldn't be hard. You definitely shouldn't have blown up at your instructors/teachers/whatever because that looks really dumb, too, but, hey, everyone makes mistakes, don't sweat it, and we're here to help.
  3. Oooh. Creepy. And interesting. That bottom picture is really, really freaky.
  4. Ya know, way back in the olden days there were a lot fewer health problems, and the reason why is because people ate more natural unprocessed food. The foods you listed are unprocessed, but today's society doesn't like a lot of healthy stuff because they'd rather be eating white flour, sugar, and fat. Cholesterol isn't necessarily a huge problem, it's just an indication of how messed up your body is. Eating healthier should correct your cholesterol as well as other problems you may have.

    Media/shallowness

Yeah. I think it's just lame when women plaster themselves with makeup or get a breast augmentation or whatever. People like that just feel insecure and think they'll be more accepted if they look better. Unfortunately, that's sorta true in today's society, but it's still pathetic.
  6. Yeah, if it isn't compatable then that's reaaaalllly lame. The DS and DS Lite are so similar I doubt it's a hardware difference, so, it should work. Nintendo's probably just trying to sell more DS Lites, which I don't see why, they're already popular, so...
  7. Ok, the US has done a lot of dumb stuff in Iraq, but let's also put this in perspective...There are a LOT of reasons why people think we have gone to war in Iraq and, regardless of whether each one is an actual reason or not, there is logic behind all three I will cover. I will go in order of more gov't friendly reasons to, in my opinion, more realistic reasons.1. There are WMDs there: Let's face it - this is a load of bull. All they found was a bunch of empty shells. If there were WMDs, they could have been a bit more furtive and discreet in their investigations so as to not give too much warning to the suspected weapons-makers and holders...2. Free the iraqis from a dictator: Well, yeah, but then why did we choose iraq? Pretty much every middle eastern country is a dictatorship!3. We need control of oil: Well, yeah, I guess this one is true. Oil production is faultering, and we need to have cheap oil to function as a country. Maybe. But think of it this way: Americans are addicted to oil. Just like someone who's addicted to crack doesn't care how much they have to pay to get it, so are americans. We won't give up our gas-guzzling SUVs just yet, and, well, if there really is an oil shortage, then going to take over ("democratize") Iraq is one step in the right direction.4. Wartime economy = good. Well, seriously, big business basically has the US government in their pocket.I definately don't agree with the war, but this country went to war for reasons. Sure, it's not our duty or right to be the police of the world, and I think we're just getting ourselves into a repeat of the Vietnam War, but maybe going to war in Iraq will have some positive long-term effects.
  8. Some people are born into what they are. That doesn't mean it's right or fair or they're the best for their job. Some people just get lucky, and, well, that's the way it is... life sucks. However, you can improve where you are in life by working hard and trying to excel... Just because you're born into a bad position doesn't mean you have to stay there. People aren't necessarily a product of their environment, either, but 90% of the time, hey, it's true.
  9. Well, I kinda doubt vegitarians are smarter, because all the vegitarians I know are, well, not completely there, so to speak. Plus I eat meat on a regular basis and my I.Q.'s something like 165. However, I think there is a link between diet and intelligence, and vegetarians are probably a bit more careful about what they eat - e.g. they don't eat junky fast food. I think that it is more important to simply eat a nice, balanced diet with lots of meats and veggies and little sugar and that's what'll really make the difference. Also, one of the smartest people I know is an ex-vegetarian, and she just stopped being vegetarian a few months ago. As far as I can tell, she's more active and maybe even more intelligent now than when she was vegetarian... Then again, that's just me, but, as she said, her brother's vegetarian and it hasn't done anything for him, so...
  10. I pretty much doubt that it's possible to do this with today's technology. Nuclear fission is basically splitting a big atom (e.g. uranium) into smaller atoms (helium, hydrogen, stray neutrons, etc) And you can also fuse stuff together, so, theoretically...However, it takes a lot of energy to do some of these things, and they're hard to control. Perhaps we can create some processes to create SOME things, but most of the time you can't really change these processes so you can get whatever you want out. Uranium decay basically just changes into a few other elements and eventually turns into lead. Anything reactive will usually turn into lead or a more stable isotope of whatever it is, so you can't really get, say, gold out of uranium or something like that.Second, these processes that do work, to do stuff like this, are very, VERY expensive and inefficient. I mean, we MIGHT be able to "make anything out of anything" someday, but for now it's just too difficult. You know how they've discovered a lot of elements synthetically? well these take place in an absolutely crazy high power device and only stick around for a fraction of a second until they decay into something else. It's kinda like shooting around a bunch of subatomic particles and hoping they stick for a nanosecond before flying apart. In short, this is a really cool idea, and I hope they can do it someday, but I really don't think someday will be sometime soon.
  11. Well, school's been out two days where I am due to snow, plus a day for MLK day, plus two days for a weekend, and, guess what, I'm bored out of my gourd here. So, seriously, I'd totally rather be at school. All my friends are at school, and we get to do a LOT of cool stuff. Think of the bright side of school!!!
  12. Uh, yeah, of course it's messed up, it's american. And that's coming from an American, so, hey, I agree - American culture is really messed up!!!
  13. It looks WONDERFUL! I might actually use it. It might have some trouble beating out Paypal, but coming from google it seems at least to be reputable. Makes me wonder if Google will eventually own the entire internet or something...
  14. Awww... That's sweet...I'd consider you really lucky. I think Myspace is really dumb, but it's cool that you were able to find a girl on it. It sounds like you kind of tore her away from her old boyfriend, which would be mean, but it sounds like things weren't working out between them anyways...Anyways, best of luck to you, and hopefully your relationship lasts a while.
  15. 'Ya know, gamers might start getting a lot thinner with the advent of stuff like the Wii. You never know. But I think that gamers should play sports or participate in physical activity as well. It's not hard, just run, lift weights, play tennis, or something...
  16. well, I'm not very worried about global warming. I mean, it's cold where I am, and it's the middle of winter, so as far as I'm concerned, bring it on.
  17. Hey, if you think about it, it's acutally a really good idea to have ads based on cookies. I haven't seen any porn or anything (sniff) but it's cool that they do that so you actually see RELEVANT ADS. I've also noticed that a lot of the ads are relevant to what is being discussed in the posts. Interesting and entertaining, if you ask me.
  18. Yeah, it can't all be bad, right? And if you're there, well, there's definately a reason in, uh, the greater scheme of things, there's probably some good, viable reason you are there, so, hey, take advantage of it.
  19. Wow. That does sound, er..., suckish. [sweat drop]Then again, there's also a lot to be thankful for. I mean, think if you had been born in your country. You wouldn't know anything other than it, so it'd be normal. Now, say, you went to a country that has everything you don't, like, uh, Canada for example. You'd be happy. So, in a sense, you should just be thankful that you're alive and well, and maybe hope and pray for a better time.
  20. I really don't care about vista, I'm still in windows 2000, the last GOOD OS microsoft has made. (XP SUCKS) Then again, vista's the first major new OS change since 95, so maybe it'll be something interesting, but I just can't see the point in an OS which would bring a three-year-old system down to its knees with system taxations.

    My Pc Sucks

Yeah, that definately sounds like a motherboard problem to me. I've seen the same thing before and I guess you might just want to replace that...Hope you can fix it.
  22. Um, ok, so, I'd really have to say that you don't have a life if you can't survive a few days without internet. I've gone without internet for entire months and, hey, I'm still here and none the worse for wear.I think.I could even write a rant on my own about how it's really lame when people spend like five hours a day wasting away time on the web. In fact, I'd like to write a rant about people who use the internet for entertainment in general have no life. Then again, this is a forum, so saying that might just be a tiny bit hypocritical, hmmm?
  23. Hey, you may think you're so smart for 14, but, seriously, I'm guessing you've got it pretty easy with your family by the way you talk. The kid in discussion, as described by conret, is yelled at his parents for everything. Now, he might just be a whiner and complainer, but, assuming he's actually being level-headed, than it sounds like his family's just a wee bit too strict. I come from an extremely strict family, and my parents yell at me basically if I get anything less than a 95% on a test or forget to dry the dishes one night or vacuum the house or whatever. It gets old. However, there's a point to which I can put up with it. When I can't and my parents are getting angry at me for something inconsequential, I go beserk. I bang my head against the wall, tear quilts to shreds, etc. I'm not sure what part of this is releasing anger and what part is acting, I have a feeling it's more the latter, but it's my response to this sort of things. I'm guessing if said kid started crying really badly, refused to eat, banged his head against the wall, and so forth, his parents would be a bit more understanding for a while. In short, he needs to tell his parents how he feels. As it appears they aren't listening, then try something else... Granted, he probably just needs to grow some spine, but if his parents aren't listening, they're in the wrong as well. I don't really care if his parents get angry at him for getting Bs, I have to put up with that as well. If they expect all As from him, he's obviously smart enough to get them, he just needs to apply himself more. However, as said kid obviously thinks he has to take this into his own hands, I wouldn't suggest an orphanage, a foster care home is totally a bad choice, but if he's really that pissed, tell him to try running away for a few days. Maybe he can stay in the school he goes to or something. See if his parents start to worry, if they do, then he can come home, but maybe after some bargaining. If his parents just get angry, then they're the ones with problems...
  24. I guess I agree with everyone who's saying that you shouldn't cry just because you were low on batteries on your ipod, mostly because you should just be glad you have one. It does sound like that was a pretty bad day, with grades and all, but, seriously, if your book was stolen you should have taken care of that, not worked without a book. And if you think you're smart but your grades are dropping, then the problem's with you, you can't blame it on the world. Anyways, I can understand why you feel so awful, but your "worst day" doesn't really sound all that bad to me. It's not like a close friend died or something...

    My Friend

Wow. I seriously understand how 'ya feel. I'm kinda frustrated too by "double-standard racism" as you coin it. I also am really annoyed by some people who think they're just so much better than white people just because they're black or whatever. I'm not racist, really, and when I am I admit it, but, especially in the case of this one kid, I'm really frustrated. Basically, whenever someone says something to him, he yells "that's racist!" Even if it isn't. I find some consolation in the fact that everyone hates him, but I just can't believe how lame some people are when it comes to racism. Which is serious. As for racial stereotypes, well, I don't judge someone just based on race, but there's really no stereotype without a prototype. However, there's always a lot of people who don't fit into a stereotype, even if there are a lot who are. I always give people a chance before I judge them, though, and I'm just really tired of people thinking I'm spoiled rich or whatever just because I'm white, because that's WRONG.Anyway, if you think this person is really, really being out of line and stuff, then they're no friend and calling them a friend is a lie. Just tell them what you think and if they don't like you for it, then it's their loss.
