  1. it's good to see they finally found a definition of "planet..."I'm an avid astronomer so I've been watching this debate for a while... I've always thought Pluto and Xena were "Planets," though I didn't expect Ceres, the largest asteroid in the "inner belt" between jupiter and mars to be considered a planet, though it is predicted in the Titus Bode Law(http://www.enchantedlearning.com/subjects/astronomy/glossary/indext.shtml)go to this ^^ link and scroll down to it for a description of what it is...
  2. ha...or not... it could have been you.Yeah, heard about this while I was on vacation... luckily my laptop isn't one of the ones that got recalled...They should really make sure everything is safety tested before it leaves the factory...
  3. well, let's see... these are for second semester...Algebra II: B+ (It was an 89.4! I got an 86 on the final and if I had gotten an 88 I would have had an A!)PE: A- (I can't believe how hard the grading was... I don't think the teacher liked me, luckily a TA tought the class second quarter and he liked me... I was like the best person in the class...)Science: A+ - First semester I finished the 150 question final in 29 minutes and 58 seconds - just under my goal of half an hour, and I had a cold... I missed one question... The second semester final was 165 questions and it took me 36 mins 14 seconds... I got every single question right... I love science... <_<Business: AEnglish: AHistory: A (Highest Grade in class, I love history...)German: A (highest grade in the class, there were only 3 As... luckily I already know quite a bit of german... :DSo there you go...I have about a 3.8... Not as good as I'd like but it'll go up because I'm taking a bunch of classes next year that go on your gpa as a 5, not a 4, (AP Euro history, Honors Chem, etc)So that'll help.

    I Hate School!

I don't always like school, but it's just something you have to do... school can be boring, long, and just a plain waste of time sometimes, but you need to get a college degree for most jobs nowadays, so... Seriously, though, I'm gonna be a sophomore this year... I don't always like school, but I get to hang with friends and learn some interesting stuff from some of my teachers... the intrersting ones at least... trust me, the teachers in tougher courses are usually better... but when they're not, you're in for hell... anyways, one hour of homework isn't that much... I have a bit of a talent for finishing HW incredibly fast, but you have to be able to study as well, because no matter how smart you are you can't learn everything you need to get an A in class, you have to review... next year I'm taking Pre-Calc, English, German, Chinese, Honors Chemistry, History, AP European History and a whole nother sh*tload of stuff and I'm not complaining... I'm sorry, but I think people who think school is evil or stupid are whimps... just toughen up, do yer work, and play games later... as countless people have said, it's a lot tougher in the real world, enjoy school while it lasts...
  5. yeah... seen a lot about this... really it's not that big of a deal but everyone cares so much about what is going on in movie stars' lives... kinda dumb if you ask me... the magazines are all making a huge deal about this story of course just so they sell more... that's what would really suck about being famous - the world would know every little thing I do... but I guess that's the price of being famous...still, I'd rather be able to get drunk and not have the world know about it...as for whatever anti-semitic stuff he said, yeah, that's bad, but you don't even know that he really said that stuff... the police man could have made it up for whatever reason - perhaps he didn't like Mel Gibson... :)i don't know...
  6. those are all indeed correct, I am impressed with this article... though perhaps you shouldn't have pasted the entire thing in... :)Any password, really, though, is hackable... Yes, it does take a lot of processing power, but a hacker who is truely determined will leave it running for days or however long it needs... Some might just take months to crack... And you definately want a password over 14 characters... that's not an optimal length... Or, even better, make it REALLY long, but still meaningful enough to remember... really though, if you're that worried about someone hacking into your computer, just keep the actual computer safe...anyways, nice stuff. i liked the explanation of why ALT+NUMS is not always best. A most decent article...But then again, most people don't even know what this stuff means...
  7. not bad, I like the site, but the sides are too... "un-cluttered." I think you need borders or something on the sides of the text... I like the colors, but they may appear dark in some monitors... nice work, keep it up!
  8. interesting stuff. I've tried a few sites but haven't really found anything that sounds better than what you're talking about... so many of these sites are scams that it's hard to know what to do... but I guess you can make some nice pocket change off these things...
  9. i don't think it's that wierd, but I'm sure you really stand out wearing the karate uniform... if possible, I wouldn't wear it in public... I mean, really, it is kinda odd if you're the only one doing it....
  10. WOW... that's really wierd... I didn't know you even COULD give birth that young... Really odd, interesting find... just surprised she's ok...
  11. based on features, overall fun, and appeal, the Wii, though I think Nintendo should have kept it named the revolution... The PS3 will definately have the best graphics, but I think the X360 has the most appeal to older gamers because of it's titles... much funner games for the growing world of adult gamers... Nintendo should try to get more mass-appeal games for older audiences on the Wii... And then the PS3... Sony screwed up by delaying the release of it... we'll have to see how it fares, but I don't think it will do well, necessarily.
  12. wonderful explanation, I got a little tired reading even. :)interesting stuff, I don't know why people are not reading and replying to this...basically, what you are saying is that life is all interconnected and balanced out and this is essentially what karma is, right?very interesting...
  13. nice tutorial... I'm always interested in taking cool pix of me and my friends, and it's kinda neccessary to touch up and alter with photoshop...Photographic realists (people who want photographs to depict things exactly as they are) don't want to edit their photos with a computer, but you can create really artistic scenes from digital pictures even if you aren't super artistically gifted.anyways, good job on the tutorial. Keep up the good photoing...
  14. I've seen that lemonwonder... I think that's as close as they've gotten... I once say another thing, but you were more "inside" it, probably so you don't get fried by the jets... the reason you don't see this kind of thing on the market is because it just isn't practical... there are better things to spend your millions on...
  15. ha. interesting stories... I like the one about the greek guy... ^_^The others aren't that odd. If I was the janitor and you were attractive at all I'd be flirting with you... :)Post any more if ya got any...
  16. very true, plenoptic. I especially agree about how someone could be framed by forcing them to hold a gun... And a really interesting idea, nations... thanks for the read... I definately want a gun that has this technology... Though even 1 in 100,000 seems like an awfully hight failure rate if it can be achieved... what if you were framed and you were that 1 in 100,000 failure... that would suck because nobody would believe that you're innocent... then again, I can't really think of a better way to make sure only a gun's owner shoots it... and what about if a criminal brings their gun into your house and you manage to grab it from them - you can't shoot them in self defense... *sigh* - nothing's perfect...
  17. I'm not quite sure on the facts of what I'm about to write, but I remember reading this somewhere, I think it was actually proven, but I may have forgotton parts of it over time and, anyways... Here's my explanation of "dragons"Like many others, I agree that we call them 'dinosaurs' today.... and I agree that there are probably some still living... anyway, many dinosaurs eat meat, and apparently the meat ferments in their stomach because it is not all digested at once... (this is the part I am a little sketchy on the details on)... basically, dinosaurs would "burp," giving off excess flammible gases from the fermentation of the meat in their stomachs.... (gross, I guess) Anyway, some dinosaurs such as t-rexes are able to create sparks when their teeth grind together... apparently this ignites the gases, causing them to look like they're breathing fire...Anyways, there it is. Not my theory, so somebody may want to check and see if they can find it somewhere...As for me, I prefer the dragons of legend... much more fantastical, if you ask me...But that makes me think of something else...If anybody has read the book "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" by Mark Twain you will have an idea of what I am talking about.... Shortly after the main character is captured by a knight, he is taken back to a castle and the knight boasts about how he took this strange man from a land of magicians who are all invincible and, well, I guess knights liked to boast about their feats back then, and perhaps wander from the truth a little bit. Suppose there really was some sort of dinosaur or any old animal that a bunch of knights had killed... Surely they would have made the beast sound far more ferocious than it really was, giving it the ability to breathe fire and the such....a bit more believable of a theory, anyway
  18. only have time to skim, but interesting....though really, I myself realize it isn't hard to hack school systems and other networks of the sort...If I wanted to, I could change my high school grades... people just need to realize that doing that sort of thing is morally wrong. e.g. misrepresentation
  19. I disagree completely... and I'm surely not the only one... Why do people believe in evolution? Now there's a real question... Is it because three or four guys a few hundred years ago thought it up? Perhaps, Perhaps not. In reality, evolution is just an idea of what "might" have happened. It has not been proven and will likely never be proven... just like the theory of creation... people can believe what they want to believe and that's great, but they shouldn't try to force their beliefs on others as fact... but anyway... I have to agree that there is indeed "de-volution." People are getting dumber and dumber... I think we peaked in the 18 or 1900s... Thanks for that bit of truth... nice theories about evolution... and I also agree with what was said in response to the height change discussion... interesting stuff...
  20. yep... technology is constantly getting smaller and better... I wasn't around back then but my parents tell me about how pathetic technology used to be... and I try to relate... Something that I find particularly amazing is those spiffy graphing calculators you use in school... those have more processing power than any home computer had even 20 years ago... makes you wonder what will happen next... will everything have a computer in it someday???
  21. thank you very much... I agree with you completely... it is most certainly a mental disorder, and I might even go so far as to say that being homosexual is a mental disorder... just because it happens doesn't mean it's right... I really don't want this to escalate further into "is it ok to be gay/gay marriage" debate, but I just have to say I agree with you on what you say... as for what to do about it... well, I'd just like to say if I had this problem I would learn to accept the body i'm in... though it may not be as easy as I make it sound, since I don't REALLY understand what it would be like... sorry for rambling, just had to give my two cents...
  22. try a google search - there are a few places you can buy it... search for "once upon a forest PC game" or something... good luck.
  23. nice find... actually, I read about a screen that you can roll up like a poster - it's not super practical, but at least it's cool... amazing how advanced technology is getting, but all the latest stuff is super expensive, so it's not going to be within the reach of average joe consumer for a while...
  24. yeah, the "sightings" are fake but I do see stuff like this all the time... my brother worked at a fast food restraunt for a while, and there was one guy who came in and said, "I eat a lot of fast food."And he looked like it, too...
  25. Yeah, that much data ought to last a long time - it'd take ten years to accumulate 10TB. But really, many of today's hard drives, especially what I've seen in Western Digital Hard Drives, is that they die after about 4 years, so ten is an improvement.
