  1. Hey, everything hippiman is saying is true. Now, look, we get a lot of school things here in the vent, and we've pretty much established through them all that, hey, some people like school, some don't, whatev. But school is important. It's really tiring to see another topic on this matter, and I'm not going to copy down one of my previous posts on the matter or anything, but, among other things, school is like daycare, school is a place to hang around with friends, and you can probably learn something at school. And if you don't care about getting kicked out you can have some pretty evil fun as well.
  2. Cangor is:Latin for the sound a duck makessomeone's last namethe incorrect spelling of the japanese word for love in an alternate universeanother person's last nameand, uh, yeah, go figure... I'm not sure where I came up with it.
  3. Um, yeah, normally I have no problem making eye contact with people, but, eh, sometimes it's really hard to look a few girls straight in the eye just because they're watching my eyes the entire time and staring at me and smiling... awkward!? But, really, girls don't really care what a guy looks like as long as he's not gross, sure, they like some things about the way guys look, but most decent girls care more about a guys personality... I had a girl tell me the other day that I'm the only guy she knows who would accept a hug and, well, I dunno, I think girls just like guys who are nice and lovable. Or maybe that's just the girls that I hang around, whatever, there are some perfectly shallow girls out there, in fact a lot of them, but, eh, whatever...
  4. That's true... I wouldn't play sudoku on computer - it's kinda meant to be someting you do on paper... computers can screw up your body, too - hurt your eyes, give you carpal tunnel, so...
  5. Video games are a waste of time - there are better ways to relieve stress. Now, they're not completely awful, and it's fun to play games for a little while or just when you hate mankind so much you don't want to talk to eveyone, but when you start not going out because of games or you play hours of games each day, THEN they're a waste.
  6. This absolute (something I wouldn't say on Xisto because I would obviously get banned) Anyone who goes up to someone of a different religion and says they're going to hell is first of all tactless and second of all not following their own religion very well. Sure, everyone's religion gives them a path to "salvation," but that doesn't mean you should put down others - most religions preach love towards others no matter what. I made a post a while ago about my opinion on religion getting a bad wrap. Nobody had the guts to answer what I said, but, basically, religion is used as an excuse to manipulate people, but that doesn't mean religion causes that. In a lot of cases, religion causes people to love more and gives some people who would otherwise be absolute slime some morals. I'm not saying you can't be a great person without religion, but, eh, just read the rest of the post here: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/43453-religion-gets-bad-wrap-anti-religious-sentiment-as-a-form-of-discrimination-etc/
  7. And the fifth is better than the fourth, and the fourth is better than the third... My first kiss was of no real significance, anyways, but, hey, I'm not complaining.
  8. I think someone can totally be truly in love at a young age. I don't think anyone can, but there are people who are developed enough at that age mentally to understand love as opposed to infatuation. I do agree with your advice, though. You just have to move on - it's hard, it's painful, and it sucks, but you need to get on with life - there are other things to life than being in a relationship and, as unromantic a thing as that is to say, there'll be others as well. Soon, you'll find another girl and you'll forget all about past problems. If you don't I'd seek therapy because then that's starting to be abnormal.
  9. Okay, this is true, and, actually, if you're not planning on going on to college, you really shouldn't even be in high school - it's be better to be starting an apprenticeship or something. But if you're going into college,1) You likely don't know what you plan to do yet and therefore should be exposed to a variety of fields2) By taking history classes you have more of a background to understanding current events, assuming you're not the typical apathetic american or whatever. When someone mentions the vietnam war you should know what they're talking about.3) Personally, I think if you're not planning on going into a scientific field, math above geometry isn't really going to be useful, so... fwah.4) Don't say you're not a nerd, because if you say that that means you probably are and just don't want to be. Don't try to be something you're not, because that's way worse than being dorky. And just because you enjoy school doesn't mean you're a nerd anyways. I like school because I get to have fun with friends.
  10. Yeah, uh, I have to agree, 95% of Americans are practically comatose. Look, I knew about the "9/11" conspiracy for a long time and I believe it. Our government only wants us to believe what they tell us, but if you do that then you're failing your job at being an American Citizen.
  11. Okay, so I'm chronically depressed, perhaps slightly bipolar because sometimes I'm in a manic state sometimes, and I get that way when I'm not around friends or whatever. Unfortunately, I still haven't found a way to combat this, and when it happens I'm listless and can't be entertained by anything. Basically, I just wait it out and sometimes it makes me really irascible, I guess, is the best word. I don't know, I think it's probably happening to me right now. The only thing that helps me, maybe a little is to listen to music, so, I'd recommend that when you're depressed. It can help you before you get too depressed, at least.

    Darn Chainletter

Spam. Don't get me started on spam. My email gets somewhere around 40 spam emails a day, likely because its posted on my website, but gmail filters out EVERYTHING which is really, really nice. Just delete it and move on, like Saint Michael said.
  13. Yes! Yesssssss! It's like my avatar! I have no art skill, really. At least not that my avatar shows, really... But, seriously, you're supposed to act on a forum what you would act like in real life. I sincerely hope none of you are the kind of people who tell people they suck in real life. And people who do that on forums are just BITTER! Every person in the world is important, and whatever their art looks like is special and unique to them so, even if it does suck, the true value of it is that they did it themselves.
  14. I think it's fair, sometimes, like when someone posts a thirty page story or something they shouldn't get a ton of credits because they probably would have written it anyways, but maybe there should be exceptions... I dunno...What really pisses me off about the Xisto hosting system is how, if you run out of credits and your account is suspended, even for a minute, and you get several credits back, those credits may actually run out before your account is reactivated. Now, I know the solution is just not to get suspended, but sometimes it accidentally lapses a bit for me, and then I'll get back on and recover from a -.05 credit deficit and then I'll have to go do something, and two days later I'll run out of credits again and be suspended still. Credits are our way of paying for hosting I guess, but if you can't access the web space and you're in the positive then I feel your credits shouldn't go down... I'm realllly busy and can't schedule my time around Xisto. There aren't many forums I know enough to reply in, either, so I can usually only get about three credits at a time and have to wait for someone to post more... oh well, such is life...

    Vegan Diet

People can be vegetarian and they'll usually get all the nutrients they need. Being vegan, well, it's just hard to get all the things you need without taking all kinds of supplements, so, in my reply to a comment on the first page, humans can't rip the skin off a cow with their teeth (or maybe they can) but they can't be completely vegan either. There's a reason we use tools and stuff. My opinion is that going to one extreme or the other (total carnivore vs. obsessive vegan) is just bad for your health and you need to eat somewhere in between.
  16. This is really, really good. If you get attacked while you're on a walk or something, pepper spray is also very useful- most of the containers will spray over 8 feet, so if your attacker has a knife, you can attack him from far away...
  17. No, it's all a scam... just look at the language they use... just trash it... complain about it maybe... reply telling them to take your email address off their mailing list.
  18. Wouldn't be surprised to see a major war happening soon... not a world war yet, certainly. The best thing for the US is to get out of the Middle East. The entire middle east has been at war with western civilization for nearly a thousand years, and it's just all grudgy and, well, whatever, it's a volatile situation that we need to avoid.
  19. It's good. I think the death penalty works mostly as a deterrent- in most cases, the death penalty shouldn't really be used, in my opinion, but most of the people sentenced to the death penalty have committed murder several times or something terrible like that, so the death penalty really isn't that strict and, really, it is used so seldom that you can't argue it's wrong based on how much it costs. If someone commits murder once and regrets it, they're not going to get the death penalty, so, really, it's even lighter than the biblical "eye for an eye" example which, really, isn't even "biblical" at all... Anyway, the death penalty should stay.
  20. It's safe enough, but you might damage your night vision. I'll probably get it once my eyesight stops changing, but for now, well, people like me just as well with glasses as without, so it's no big deal. I don't really mind glasses in any case.

    God

Well, I'm Christian, so I pretty much believe most of what you say, but I just think it's kinda unbelievable not to believe in God. Can you seriously look outside and think that all happened by chance? I think it's pretty clear that there has to be someone or something out there....Actually, in a stretch of a metaphor, you could say that the supposed "Big Bang" was God, there are a lot of ways to look at it, but I just don't see how something could come from nothing.
  22. Okay, so, yeah, basically, Islam isn't really a violent religion. Just like Christianity and the Crusades, religion is used as an excuse for needless violence. Killing someone is almost never justified in any religion. The people who go and kill are just doing it because, like everyone's been said, they've been brainwashed. Being a Christian, I view many of the events in history where Christianity has been used to promote violence as basically the un-religious actions of someone who wants to achieve more power or wealth reverse-psychologically justified using a religon that, while they pretend to follow, are actually not observing and are basically just being slimeballs.I actually think there is a LOT of discrimination based on religion, [not "racism," though] and the reason for it is people like those described above. People will often say they're Christian to make others trust them and/or their business more. Then they'll screw said "other" over and that person will be left thinking that all religious people are slimeballs. That SERIOUSLY pisses me off because, thanks to this, there is now a prevailing sentiment, [at least here in America,] against most any religion. People who are nonreligious say that religion is trash and that it promotes discrimination and stuff. Which I hate, because, I think if someone actually cares about their religion, then they're going to be a great person - religion provides, in most cases, a pretty decent code of morals. That's not to say you can't be great without religion, but the fact that religious people are slandered for believing in something is DISCRIMINATORY AGAINST THEM! Hellllloooo....Basically, I don't care what people believe, and I think everyone should be treated equally regardless of their faith, but when people start bashing religion in general, or start giving me s*** for believing what I do because it "promotes hate," well, don't even get me started, even though you already have...
  23. Robots, while some have been programmed to show emotions, do not truely feel emotions, it's just a bunch of electrical signals. Then again, you could say we're the same way, but whatever. We create robots to do jobs for us, so, no, they shouldn't really have "rights," depending on what rights mean, but if you develop a robot to do something really, really nasty then just make it not have emotions and not be sensient. If you create robots that are identical to humans, then, well, that's just kinda useless.
  24. I hear a loooooot of ripoff stories from Paypal, but I still think its the best thing out there. It's easy and cheap - you don't have to pay for credit card service, which can be really, really expensive. I'd rather take my chances.
  25. Actually, greenyb118 is kinda right, but, hey, it's all war anyways, and, yeah, people might win wars, but it's always the leaders that benefit. So war is bad, in any case. The people always lose - their lives or whatever. I like how you made the allusion to Napoleon attacking the Russians, and, hey, I think it's a lesson everyone should learn before they go to war - don't attack the Russians, because nobody's every really fought them successfully.
