  1. The #1 factor to losing weight is eating less. This can take a lot of self control, but it's the most important thing. Try not to drink alcohol either, because alcohol can reallllllly make you fat really fast. Don't eat more than you have to and don't feel compelled to clean your plate at meals. And don't snack in front of the TV. I'm not saying exercise isn't useful, too, but you'll lose weight faster by eating less than you will by exercising more.
  2. yeah, there's a lot of crap involved with AIDS. It'd be great if there was a cure, but I don't know if that's really likely to happen. Like zak92, i'd rather be safe than dead.
  3. Funny. :PSomething this size would create fairly decent damage, but seriously, like I said above, it's no big deal. They've already probably figured out it won't hit us. Space is incredibly huge, and the chances of a tiny asteroid colliding with a tiny earth are astrinomical. Perhaps that's why 1 in 40-whatever thousand is so "high," but, there's no way this thing'll hit it. We could just paint it white and the deflection caused by the solar rays hitting it would blow it off course.
  4. Uh, yeah, I kinda guessed Vista was trash. Windows keeps coming out with newer and newer operating systems and they just kill your system further and further. XP was definately a step down from 2000, and Vista just sounds like its getting worse.
  5. Hey, I'll do it. 24 hours, that's just a day, and I'll be sleeping for half of it anyways, so... Notice from jlhaslip: - Notice - A bit of Spam happening here? - Xisto Readme -
  6. I've got the game, but I've really only dabbled in modding it... I could never really figure out how to do a whole lot more than change ships, create weapons, and hack save games... I think with freelancer mod manager you can do quite a bit of stuff, but I've never figured out how to import 3d models into the game...
  7. Hey sinthetix- we've already talked over in the vent forum, but, welcome anyways. I also think Freelancer is an incredibly fun game. ^^ Anyways, enjoy Xisto... It's a great forum.
  8. Uh, yeah. I've only been on Xisto for a matter of months, but I know that here we don't insult people for no reason. Or at least, the only people we insult are non-members.sinthetix... Your IQ is 173!? That's uh, really interesting. Because you're the first person I've met [whose IQ I know] is higher than mine.
  9. Look, there's no way the entire class did bad in algebra. I think you just did bad and you're assuming everyone else did, too. I don't think you have to study for hours for algebra, cause if you pay good attention in class you should understand pretty much everything. I never took algebra, I skipped it, but such is my experience in Algebra II and Precalculus. And, on the point of homework, it's math, so you should expect homework every night. If you really hate homework that much, do it with some friends or something...And I'm not even going to comment on your teacher being fat...
  10. For making posters and stuff, 5 megapixels are fine. However, with more megapixels, it's almost like having a zoom - digital zoom basically won't lose you quality then. And, for the baby powder thing, well, that seriously could happen. That's actually really smart. But if you add too many holes, it'd end up pouring so fast you actually felt like you were wasting it, so you'd stop buying it.
  11. The guy's absolute scum. I think he deserves the death sentance, but, hey, that's just my archconservative self, so...
  12. Eh.Yeah, hopefully most people aren't dumb enough to fall for such a scheme, but, hey, if 1% of visitors do, that still works for the scammer.By the way, did I mention that I think scammers, --along with people on welfare who could actually get a job and people who have really huge egos,-- are the scum of the earth?
  13. Very interesting, but, yeah, a link would be nice. Sounds like cool tech. The only problem would be how the heck do you heat something that hot at, say, home?
  14. I've been interested in NEOs [near earth objects] for a long time, and, I guess 1 in 45000 is a pretty good chance, but, seriously, we've figured out ways to prevent an asteroid from hitting us, so I'm sure it won't hit us. I've actually known about this asteroid for years and, well, there are a lot like it, and, as it gets closer to us, we'll probably figure out it won't hit us.
  15. Er, that's still really stupid and really illegal. If you were gone all weekend and forgot an essay, then your teacher will understand. Passing off someone's work as your own IS cheating, especially if you get a better grade then you would have gotten if you had done the essay. E.g. if you are a C student and you write an A+ essay then1) That's really unfair2) That's cheap3) Your teacher will know you didn't write it.So, yeah, it would be kinda cool to perhaps create a site where people could HELP others on homework, but not for one that does the work for you...
  16. My life really wouldn't be that different without the internet. I spend a little time on Xisto, but mostly I'm not the kind of person who mindlessly surfs the web. In any case, the internet's not going to mysteriously disappear, so, I don't have to worry. The internet does allow you to do a lot of nice stuff though. It makes it easier to communicate with people and find information, so it might be a bit harder to get work done without the internet. In any case, we do have the internet, and, as long as we have the internet, we have Xisto.
  17. Seriously, vaccinations are awful. As a baby the average vaccination/immunization has 26 times the toxic amount of the neurotoxin mercury. And it's not any better for you when you're older.
  18. Bwahahaha! There's so much interesting stuff on Google Earth! :PNice find, but definitely not the strangest thing I've seen on Google Earth. You can actually find Khark Is., an island off the coast of Iran, where a bunch of Oil pipelines go through.
  19. :PShe's lost it for good. Not that I really care, but, hey, funny anyways.
  20. interesting experiment, but I think even a microscopic black hole is really dangerous, because it could end up capturing material around it and growing. If you took the entire earth and shrunk it to the size of a marble, it would be about as dense as a black hole. To even create a microscopic black hole would contain a ton of material.
  21. Sports are a good idea, exercising reduces stress-reducing endorphines into the body,I'd also reccommend really trying to relax in the evening... Listen to calm music or something. Stress is a normal part of life, but when it's so extreme that you begin to get frustrated by it, that's pretty bad. Do you have any people you can talk to about your problems? That helps me a lot as well.
  22. Er, buddy, I think you just answered your own question.... Unfortunately, there's a loooot of shallow people out there... too many, in fact, and, yeah, anyways, it's sickening, and I know how ya feel. But, you know, you'll meet someone not so shallow someday, and then you'll be able to laugh at all the shallow people whose pathetic existance is trashed.
  23. That's really great that you were able to quit. Smoking and using tobacco is such a nasty, dirty habit, and I can't really see why it's addicting, but, companies are in it for the money, so they'll do anything to sell more of their product. If I was in the position of a company such as Marlboro, I'd feel awful about practically killing people for money. As for natural tobacco, It might be a bit better, but, really, it's all bad for you, so I think it's best just not to start, cause once you start, you're hooked.
  24. That's legal, I guess, but I'd still say it's a total scam. We see computer programs with user agreements sooooo often that we just begin to skip through them, and it sounds like this thing you downloaded is just taking advantage of this. That doesn't mean you can't fight back in court or something, I GUESS, but it's incredibly scheming. This thing sounds really low, and I really hope you can get your money back. I'd just say, go get a lawyer if this really bothers you, because I can't stand to see people taken advantage of like that.
  25. I dunno. A study actually said that homosexuality is caused by a chemical blockage in the brain. Which makes sense, since, hey, what gives you sex drive? Chemicals!I kinda doubt it's hereditary though. I think that being homosexual is gross, wrong, and whatever else, but if people want to do that kind of thing, it's their choice, not mine. So there.
