  1. It's a better idea than your last one, but it still can be abused in the same way as the first. So no.
  2. I never thought I'd ever request for somebody to make me a sig... but I'm getting tired of all my "just text" sigs, and I'm no artist, so I want to see what you guys can do for me. My specifications are: Size: 400x100 Theme: Calm and cool Render: No Render Theme: N/A Color: Blue preffered Text: No Other effects: Nothing in particular, but feel free to add any effect you think is cool. Thank you!
  3. An old trick, but an effective one. I used this trick once to advertise an old clan site... it was popular ever since! Too bad my friend left the site, causing it to rot...
  4. Everybody has said anything I would have said about the possibility of a fourth dimension, so I'll just say one thing - it's logical.
  5. I was just about to give my support for irmlm's idea, but Plenoptic has a very good point. Reffering people for credits is not an option, and should never become one.
  6. Nah, I won't be getting a PS3 anytime soon. If ever. There's not been enough intresting PlayStation games to make me want anything PlayStation anymore. Also, the PS3 is WAAAAY overpriced, and I don't have ?300 of extra money to fork out.Beside these problems, however, I'm not at all impressed at the PS3. Sure, it's got better graphics, but so did the XBox 360, and the first few games on that absolutely sucked. Besides, graphics do not make a game, they only enhance it. And sure, it's got Bluetooth, wireless, and a Hard Drive like the XBox, but (apart from the last one), do we really NEED these things? Finally, although I like that the PS3 looks like a George Foreman (admit it, you've all laughed at that too!), it's too big for me.To be honest, PS3 is just Sony's way of taking the PS2, giving it better graphics (like it needed them!) and a hard drive, then adding all sorts of fancy crap, and charging twice as much for it. And I'm not buying it.
  7. I've just tested it as well, and I see no such bug. There are no white spaces anywhere. And I have IE 6.0...
  8. Congratulations, Xisto Corporation! And all the staff involved in it! I can see great new possibilities in this acquisition. Not to mention the benefits to your own company - continued expansion and a wider market! Keep up the good work!
  9. The one with the grey letters is definately better. Makes it look coller and it suits the style more.
  10. When Testing, ensure you have "Show Title Screen" on, otherwise the Title Screen is not displayed and you just get a blue screen. This can also affect the music.
  11. I actually learnt HTML out of my own accord, so I can't really give you any advice of my own. However I can tell you that many of my friends recommend funky-chickens.com. It's a HTML-help website that covers all the basics of HTML, plus some basic JavaScript, and has a few resources too. It's a little outdated, but all the tricks still work. However, I should note that the website uses a pink and blue theme (pink for borders and underlines, blue for text, white background), so it may be a bit bright for some.
  12. If there was a problem with the cPanel that Xisto uses, then I would be assured by the fact that OpaQue would quickly be made aware of it and endeavour to fix it.And yeah, Saint_Michael is probably right, OpaQue's probably got an autoupdate feature installed on all of our cPanels anyway, so if there was a problem we'd be protected anyway.
  13. Avalon's right, a lot of your stuff does seem to be copied from Xisto. Try to be more original. Also, right now your website looks too basic. In fact, I find it rather bare.I reccomend you restart with your own ideas of originality. Or at least, try to make this look less cliche...
  14. Simple and to the point. Thanks for posting about this. I know a lot of people don't understand the concept of Permission Changing (or CHMOD as it is commonly known), so this will definately help!
  15. I can see why this may cause some inconvinience to people, and cause a few problems, but in all honesty, the Y2K only caused incorrect dates and maybe a few faults, so why would this be a major problem?
  16. My god, this is pure genius at its best. I showed the pictures to my family and they all agreed: it's just pure brilliance. And most people didn't think it possible. No doubt the people behind it will be approched with a job offer from Microsoft... lol. But seriously, I really hope that Microsoft gets ideas from this project, 'cos I'd love to buy something like this.Glad I came across this topic.
  17. Oh, man, those pictures are scary! Now I know this wasn't a hoax! I'm glad nobody got hurt. But I have to say I am not at all surprised about all this - Dell have been notorious for causing problems. Which is why I'll never buy a computer from them. I think a nice HP will suit me...
  18. I went on a suspicion, and found it to be right. Windows was claiming that there wasn't enough memory, but the actual problem was that too much was being used! My friend had messed around with the computer settings and accidentially set the Paging File size to be bigger than the computer's size itself!I've fixed the problem now, so this topic can be closed. But thanks for all your help. And sorry I flamed you, jlhaslip. I didn't mean to cause any problems.
  19. Just tried msconfig... we'll see the results. But, I've found something while doing a memory check (running mem in the command prompt): My friend's computer has no extended memory! Could this be a problem? And yes, I can still use safe mode.Edit: msconfig didn't help...
  20. Earth to jlhaslip! I already said it worked perfectly on Safe Mode. Only thing that doesn't work is internet connection, seeming as how it blocks port access on safe mode.
  21. 512kb RAM... what was I thinking? Or course it's more than that!FirefoxRocks, my friend's computer is capable of holding up to 27Gb, of which about 55% is already used.
  22. EDIT: Sorry, I was thinking of something else. I don't actually know how much RAM he has (I believe it was 32MB though), and I don't really want to fiddle with the inside of the computer to find out, but the fact that it has been working for the last three years and only stopped now seems to suggest to me that it was not an issue.
  23. Ok, I got a problem. Recently, an old Windows 98SE computer my friend has, messed up. All the DOS programs that were on the computer, started claiming that they were out of memory, and after he shut it down, he went on it later only to find that he cannot load Windows because there is "Insufficient Memory to Initialise" it!There is nothing wrong with the hard drive, however - I tried to use Safe Mode on his computer recently and it worked fine (with some restrictions, of course). I personally think it could be a problem with how much Virtual Memory has been allowed, but Safe Mode won't let you change this in the normal way.Does anyone know a way I can fix this? I will do everything necessary, even if I have to delete practically everything, as long as you can guarantee your method works. And please, don't suggest an upgrade! I have already talked over getting upgrades with my friend, but we both concluded there was no possible way he could spare the money for one.
  24. What I want to be when I get a job? That's easy: Computer Programmer. I'm so skilled at using computers that I just wouldn't settle for anything less. Woah, Albus! You want to be a forensic scientist?!? I have NEVER heard anybody admit their passion to do such a serious and dangerous job on the web! More power to you mate, we need more people like you!
  25. I am not too sure what you mean here. Do you mean that you want to make it so that if a 404 appears on your website, it still thinks the page exists?
