  1. Congratulations to all the winners! And special congrats to Saint_Michael for winning sooo many awards We all really have to try harder to knock SM off that throne
  2. I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I have two Dell's, a desktop and a laptop, and I've been very happy with both machines and with Dell's support. Buying name brand computers secondhand can be risky as you found out. It's a good idea to get the serial number etc from the seller before you go through with the purchase and call the manufacturer to verify warranty and registration information. It's easy enough to call them and explain you're thinking of buying the computer and they will tell you whether it's blacklisted, legally registered and still under warranty. They will also tell you what you need to do to transfer warranty to yourself. A little bit of research like this goes a long way and helps you avoid issues like you experienced. Yes, agreed. But you have to remember that the average user out there doesn't know how to do this. I do agree that it's a bad policy on Dell's part to refuse to transfer someone to a supervisor, but I suspect that it's a Dell policy and not just the individual support guy being rude.
  3. Sorry, but I'm a bit confused. You say you can't log in to the client area yet you say you can read your emails in the client area? Also, have you checked your spam folders to see if those emails are landing there instead of the inbox of your email address?
  4. I like it SM and I like the clean simplicity of the text too :)CS4 hmmm? Nice. What did you like best about using CS4 for this sig over CS3?
  5. a girl's age is a secret lol

  6. I'm an admin on a forum that uses AEF forum software, and from an admin point of view its GUI is great, features are well thought out and easy to use and AEF runs faster and cleaner than some other forum softwares I've played with. There are a number of mods available that have been tested and work well with the software including a very nice shoutbox. jlhaslip is being modest about his coding for AEF.
  7. Thanks again jl .. as always one super guy :)

  8. Hey! Sooo nice to see you again too :)

    Hi

Hi G0pher12 and welcome! I'm going to guess you're American rather than from the State of someplace? You'll find the people here very friendly and helpful. Here are some links to get you started, especially read the Xisto readme: Xisto Readme Credit System V3 Everything about myCENT Enjoy the fun and good times here!
  10. Snakes as pets? Not for me. I like pets that will interact with me, play with me and love me back. I don't see how a snake can do any of those things. I have 2 cats and love them to pieces and they come to me for affection and play, they talk to me (yes really they do! and sometimes I know exactly what they're saying lol) and they comfort me if I'm feeling down. A snake can't do any of those things.
  11. Happy Belated Birthday truefusion! Hope you had a great day yesterday and had a lot of fun.Did you do anything special?
  12. Pizza? It tastes good and there are so many different toppings and it's delivered. No one needs to cook :)I can get chinese delivered where I live, but it's much more expensive than pizza and if I'm going to spend that much then I'd rather go to a chinese restaurant and enjoy it there
  13. That's very interesting about cayenne but what does that have to do with diabetes as your topic title says? There is no cure for diabetes. There are different ways to cope with living with diabetes by changing your diet, or by taking medications and of course some people need to take insulin if diet and/or other medication aren't enough.
  14. Thank you for the fix! I was -3.97 in myCENT for a couple of days and was starting to get worried. Glad I waited and gave you a chance to fix this opaque. Now to figure out what's happening to my hosting application but I'll post separately about that.
  15. I feel for anyone who has this condition. A good friend of mine also had it and at times had kept him from sleeping properly or thinking clearly. By process of elimination, his doctor helped him discover a possible cause and it was one of the medications he was taking. That medication was substituted with another and his condition has improved and is expected to clear up completely. There's a weath of information on the American Tinnitus Association website and maybe you'll find something useful there American Tinnitus Association I hope you can overcome this awful condition.
  16. That is really beautiful! It almost seems like the carvings are done on the tree's external root system, which is better for the tree anyway as the bark isn't damaged.I'm curious too to kow where the tree is and what kind of tree it is.
  17. I don't think people should make fun of other people at all. It's not respectful to them and it's very immature. Not everyone is blessed with classic good looks and people's looks have nothing to do at all with their intelligence or how they are as a person.
  18. iGuest that's quite the rant but it sounds more to me that those are reasons for you to feel the HE doesn't love YOU any more and not the other way around.I'm sorry if you have gone through any of that.
  19. I was in shock earlier today too! But now when I came back here, the shoutbox is up and running and I'm sure all the other features will be available soon too.Great job opaque! Looking good
  20. To tell you the truth I was very surprised about the outcome of this vote, especially from a liberal-minded state like California, followed by both Florida and Arizona. It's going to be interesting to see if the California Supreme Court overturns it again like they did a little while ago. And if they do, will gay marriage and gay rights be written into the California constitution? Because if they aren't this particular battle will continue. And what about other states? Utah for instance, where Mormons are most dominant or any state where a particular religion is dominant because I agree that religious intolerance is the reason for strong feelings against gay marriage. I read an interesting article from the New York Times about Arkansas banning people cohabiting outside of marriage from fostering or adopting children. link Is all this a religious backlash? I live in Ontario Canada and same-sex marriage is legal here. On June 10, 2003 Ontario was the first jurisdiction in North America to officially recognize same-sex marriage and Feb 24, 2005 our provincial legislature passed a bill that would bring various laws concerning marriage into line with the new ruling. 21. Really nice looking form and loads fast. Are all the fields compulsory to fill in? I'd suggest adding asterisks and a note to say "indicates required information" or something like that. For instance, you' ve got a field for SSN, but of course not all users would be American. And of course, adding countries other than USA. But then, of course, the person using your templae will be able to adjust and change whatever they need to suit their own needs.Overall I really like it.
  22. Congratulations to all Americans on this historical election and as others have said, God bless America. A historical election, not only because Obama is African-American, but also because the voter turn out was the largest in American history. A sure indication that the American people want change and want it badly.Around the world countries are celebrating this new president as one who offers them hope for better relations. The real test lies in the months and years ahead and we will have to wait and see how much change, not only domestically, but also internationally, President Elect Obama will be able to achieve. Being a very close neighbor and a major trading partner, Canada as a country looks forward to the promise that Obama offers as polls came back here at about 80% saying they would have voted for him if they could.
  23. I am sooo sorry I assumed you were a girl!! Just goes to show that the old old saying is right about assuming doesn't it? It's easy to get caught up in the old traditions isn't it?I guess I never offered a personal opinion. It wouldn't matter to me seeing as I'm not that much of a traditional girl anyway. Giving and accepting an engagement ring is a sign of commitment and love and how much you spend on it shouldn't reflect on how much you love her.
  24. I think that for some people, or maybe for a lot of people, having a real diamond ring, becomes a status thing. They can always say "I have the real thing" and feel better about it. It makes them feel special. Some people only buy authentic Juicy or Gucci, others are happy with knockoffs.Diamonds have long been a tradition, in the western world, as engagement rings and I think a lot of women still feel they want the traditional diamond even if it's much more expensive. Some women equate the amount of money being spent on them with how much their boyfriend loves them.Ultimately it comes down to a personal choice and what you and your boyfriend will be happy with.
  25. I'm even further north, I'm in Canada, and we haven't had any snow yet in my area of southern Ontario. A bit of chunky rain, but no snow.I can't really say that I remember the first time I saw snow so I must have been very little but I do remember toboggan rides when I was about 5 or 6 years old. Being in a country where most of the country does get snow every year, it pretty normal for me.
