My First Sig - Please Critique but be gentle please

Thanks Avalon. I redid the border as you suggested...and yes I'm using Photoshop. -
Do you mean some statement so that, for instance, you cannot be held responsible for something? Some sites have disclaimers stating they won't be responsible for anything that's downloaded from their site. Others say they won't warranty the accuracy, reliability or that the information is free from errors and/or omissions.Knowing what you are trying to protect yourself from, will help you to decide what kind of disclaimer you need to have, or even if you need one.Sorry that isn't a lot of help but some more information would be helpful.

Thank you to both of you for the comments. I've added a border and made the text a bit larger and added a bit of an outer glow to the text. Not sure the I got the blue color overlay quite right, but here it is again -
Can Someone Help Me Out? Im a bit confused
moogie replied to AmandaB78's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Well I can see all your pages and the links all work ok for me. But your images need to be optimized more so the pages load faster.Potential customers may decide to leave instead of shopping because they don't want to wait for the pages to load.Nice jewellry though! Good luck with your web! -
I did manage to find a picture of an Intel Pentium 4 Northwood die. Here's the link but that's all I could find.

Thanks Tyssen. You are right of course. Errors are errors. And you're also right about a site displaying even if it has errors and mine did come up with errors.
-
I went to this site as you suggested and from what I can see, it It doesn't check your html for errors but for non-conformance to those standards. I entered the URL for my own website, which by the way displays and performs very well, and came up with 17 compliance issues....not html errors. So I think you may have misunderstood what this organization does.

It is 1.8GHz with 256KB cache and is a socket 754. Basically equivalent to Intel's Celeron line of processors. It's a low cost processor based on the AMD XP.If you want a faster AMD processor, then I think you should be looking at an Athlon64. It has 64-bit extensions and is a high end processor. Comes as socket 754 and socket 939. Speeds from 1800MHz to 2400MHz and either 512KB cache or 1MB.Athlon64 FX is available in speeds up 2800MHz.

Which version of the install file did you try and download? There are two different ones. One download is to use if you have the original installation CD's available and is a smaller download. The other download is the full and complete download to use if you do not have access to your original CD's.Microsoft also says that if you have problems with the smaller download, then you should download the full version.

Overall I really like this site. That is strange though with the blue screen flashing in the way it does before it goes to the normal background. Does it have something to do with transition? It looks like you've worked very hard for the minor hockey association and I hope they appreciate what you've done!

That is so amazing! I just couldn't believe it when I was watching the video but I was absolutely fascinated. So fascinated that I googled I/O Brush and came up with the MIT site that describes what the brush is and how it does it. Here's the link

Gorrillaz Vectech Sig vector tech
moogie replied to Saint_Michael's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I think the scanlines look all right but I agree that the text is off. It doesn't seem to suit and looks blurry. Maybe the text should be a different color too, maybe a shade of red? -
Gibson Research Company (GRC) has a number of free tests available and their ShieldsUp! is one of the best I've seen around. Using this online utility, you can check on your Windows file sharing, probe common ports and service ports, see what Windows Messenger is doing in the background, check up on Internet Explorer and much more. Click here to go to their page and scroll down for the ShieldsUp! On this page you'll also find many other interesting and free to use utilities.

Install Two Anti-virus Software In 1 System Is it ok?
moogie replied to Dragonfly's topic in Security issues & Exploits
If you're running a Microsoft operating system, Microsft recommends that you only have one anti-virus installed.I use Norton and am really happy with. Of course, it's important to keep the DAT files up-to-date to make sure that you're protected regardless of which anti-virus you use. -
There's a possibility that it's a heat issue. Have you run any monitoriing software to check on the heat? Also, ATI has some monitoring software for their video cards. You might check their web site for the download.Have you contacted Abit tech support?

Your friend is right about needing a quality LCD flat panel for fast gaming.Response time is the important feature. It's measured in milliseconds (ms) and the smaller the value the better the response time. For gaming or watching videos you really need a resonse time of 16ms or better.Ghosting happens with fast moving objects and it's like an instant repeat of the object like a ghost shadow.Overall though, LCD's are far superior to CRT monitors. They're much easier on the eyes, they take up a lot less room and use much less power.

I like this much better than the first one. The colors work with each other now. Before it was a bit hard on the eyes. What did you use to create it if I may ask?

How I Caught A 2 Sharks While On The Beach With 3
moogie replied to dr.a.sultan's topic in General Discussion
Well I've never caught my own shark! Don't think I want to. But I have eaten shark steak. It's really quite excellent barbecued and doesn't need to be marinated or anything. -
I've had Civ4 for a few days now and it's incredibly addictive. As was mentioned, the improvements over Civ3 are huge and I think the 3D graphics are very well done. I'm a huge fan of Sid's games and have played all the Civ games.Game play is much more user friendly once you get used to it.As for technical issues, occasionally my computer will just back out of the game. Have no idea why because I've got a fast machine and 256MB on my ATI PCI-X video. It hasn't happened very often but it's annoying when it does. Guess I'll check the Civ4 site and see if there's a fix.
