  1. Wow it's been a long time since I used Corel Draw. Photoshop is probably the thing to use, although I always liked using Paint Shop Pro since I learned on it. They're pretty similar, Photoshop is probably better though. There's another cool software called GIMP which isn't quite the power house that Photoshop is, but it has it's own nice little features... check it out some time it's free and a nice addition to a computer if you're a software junkie :(Edit: Looks like jhlaslip snuck GIMP in there before me. Sneaky! My post says 12:57 and yours is 12:58 but mines last! Hmm. Makes it look like I stole your suggestion  Oh well..
  2. Hey there kartikmsm. Welcome to Xisto! What TiGrE said.. check out the rules. Enjoy the site..and post anything you want..never know who might be interested in the same things. See you in the forums... !

    Dfx Audio Enhancer

DFX does indeed work very well. It seems to make almost everything sound much better. Another not so obvious use for it is if you're a musician and make music, you can set Winamp( or whatever ) to write to disk instead of play with sound card and run your song through it and DFX will enhance it quite well. It might not be as good as spending hours mixing a song.. and there are probably plugins that work just as good.. but this method works okay
  4. Same as you. I used to use Azureus but switched to uTorrent and never turned back. Tried FlashGet but that doesn't seem to work as good. uTorrent is great! Tried the BitTorrent downloader in Opera as well... not good either. I would recommend uTorrent to anyone.
  5. Not sure where to post this, but it's a cool map I enjoyed watching for the entire 90 seconds lol. It shows who controlled the Middle Easter over the course of history and it's pretty interesting to have a quick animated run down of this stuff if you are into history at all. http://www.mapsofwar.com/ind/imperial-history.html There are a few other maps..but that one was my favourite one. Any thoughts on the map or Middle Eastern history related to it? I think it's quite amazing how many different empires dominated such large areas over the years.
  6. I've never been to India but I would love to visit it. It's one of the places I would love to visit in the world. I wouldn't mind picking up a few indian musical instruments... they cost a lot here in Canada since there are no shops at my location that sell those things.I've seen photos taken by an Indian friend and it looks like a beautiful country. I was introduced to Indian culture only a few years ago.. food and music.. great stuff
  7. Greetings TiGrE. Welcome to the Trap. Check out the rules here http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ . It's good for you! What are you interests? Making websites? Oh, and I think it'd be in your best interest to make your posts a bit longer. In the rules it says short posts are routinely deleted. Sometimes it's hard to think of things to make your post a bit longer, but you should probably try. Anyway, have fun, enjoy yourself, if you have anything to teach us..that'd be cool. Macedonian recipes maybe? Do you cook? What do people eat in Macedonia? I must be getting hungry, I'm thinking about food again
  8. I'm using FF 3.0.11 and I'm wondering is there any way to customize the status and toolbars a bit more? I know you can right click on the tool bars to move buttons around but is there any way extension or built in way to move entire toolbar easily? It's just an appearance thing, but it bothers me because I have four or five toolbars and I wish I could put them in a less bulky looking layout. It'd be even better if I could I could put two or more toolbars side by side.. I have a RoboForm toolbar, that won't let me add any non-roboform icons to, so I can't just move icons to it individually, and it takes up an entire row despite being only about 4/10 of the row. Same with the StumbleUpon toolbar. They both leave half the toolbar empty and it seems like wasted space. I want to reclaim my browsing space, but keep the toolbar options! You see this kind of functionality in a lot of software, so I can't see why Firefox doesn't have more customizable toolbars?Second question is there any way to move the icons on the status bar around? They don't bother me TOO much, but for example I installed R.I.P and that icon goes visible/invisible depending on the page, and instead of just appearing, it moves every icon on the status bar over to make room every time. It's just a minor annoyance, but it'd be nice if there was a way to fix it. I don't want to remove the icon, just want to move it.Surely there must be some way to move these things around even if it's not as easy as just clicking and dragging?
  9. I replied to your thread about the pretzels today that's why i mentioned it . yeah I got all four removed
  10. lol wow those are quite the horror stories you're reading. I had wisdom teeth removed years ago and it was a little scary I guess going into it but it was quick and mostly painless. I can't really remember but that's just a good sign it's not very traumatic. I remember they just numbed my mouth with a needle (a little prickly feeling) and I was thinking, OH MY GOD, shouldn't I be unconscious?? but they didn't do that. It was over pretty quick, it didn't hurt at all although it felt a little uncomfortable because you could kind of "feel" your teeth being pulled out. Some teeth come out easy, some take a bit of yanking and I know that sounds bad but you can't feel it although it isn't a pleasant feeling. And that was it. I think they make you unconscious if you're really terrified but they didn't ask me so I just went with the flow I didn't want to look like a wimp lol. It didn't take 3 hours either, it was pretty quick.I also remember after it was over it was more annoying than anything because my mouth was still numb and I was drooling blood for a while and had to keep wiping it up and it feels very weird. They said it'd stop bleeding in like 10 minutes but it bled for an hour.. not a lot of blood..just enough to keep you wiping your mouth clean every few minutes. I had a milkshake I wanted to drink and I couldn't because I kept bleeding lol. I think it was a swollen from the needle and that made it hard to talk but that's not much to worry about unless you can't live without talking for a while lol. You have to eat liquids for a while too I think. I've tried swallowing pills and I can't do it either, I guess we're both pathetic! so I never took pain killers. Tough it up, be a man! Or crush your pills and eat them..but be aware aspirin can damage your teeth if its on there too long. I put it on peanut butter and just swallow it that seems to work ok.Sorry I don't have a very good memory of it but it wasn't nearly as bad as what you think it will be. I'm sure the fear of it is worse than the actual procedure. I remember dreading the whole thing and it ended up not being too bad at all. It will feel weird for a while but you'll get used to it and it you'll forget that you are missing teeth. This was just my experience though.. it might be different for other people. Regardless of that, one things for sure, you'll be fine! Enjoy your chicken noodle soup for a while.. No crunchy chocolate covered pretzels!Good luck and don't worry!!
  11. I've been using GMail for a long time, and it's so good that I gave up email software as I didn't need it. The spam filter is amazing. I hardly ever get spam and I never take precautions to protect email address from spam. Unfortunately as of an update a few months ago the main version doesn't load with dialup (times out with an error), but the basic is good enough for me.I never noticed it before but Gisellebebe is right, gmail just feels good to type as opposed to hotmail which feels really awkward.I haven't used it for storage, but I have that option if I want it which is cool.My Gmail account is the first e-mail I really settled down with. Gmail just rocks.

    Hello there! :)

  13. Blargh! Chocolate covered pretzels? M&M Popcorn?? So much junk food I don't like candy or sweet food much so this doesn't sound very appetizing to me. You never know though, I might like them if I was forced to taste it. I think I'd rather eat a plate of spinach and brussels sprouts for a snack. Yummmmmm! I love fresh vegetables. For some reason I used to drink juice from garlic dill pickles..the brine.. yum! Well not really yum, but it's alright lol seems like it'd cause ulcers or something though.
  14. Let's assume the obvious, that straight sexuality is the normal orientation, because it's the obvious relationship that makes sense for breeding reasons plus it's just obvious from nature that males and females join together. So then, Homosexuality must be abnormal, or a "defect, which isn't meant to be taken as offensive, just a term for a deviation from the normal. Does that make a homosexual inhuman? Well, does it make someone born without an arm or leg a monster? I don't think so. In my opinion, it's the same thing. It's not normal to be gay, but don't crucify the person because of that. They're just trying to live with the body they're born with.It bothers me a bit to see men kissing or something, but I think it's the stigma associated with gay men being unacceptable. I think we just have to learn to accept them. It's funny that women kissing is not only acceptable but encouraged by men, but men kissing men is considered disgusting. Think about that for even just a second, and it becomes pretty clear we're being a little unfair to the gay men because we don't agree with their choices.Yeah I think the greeks apparently had completely homosexual units because fighting with their lover inspired them to fight harder, to protect the one you love, you know.
  15. Well I'd imagine anything to do with space research would be quite expensive so it seems like a waste of resources to do the same thing (moon landing) over and over. I've also seen news of them complaining about lack of funding for space research too. It was probably more efficient to send that robot thing up there to send back data and photos.Regardless of the moon landing, I don't think the NASA people are frauds, they do some really amazing stuff.
  16. In regards to the flag, I think they (well someone) said it wasn't moving it was just crumpled up from storage. It had a horizontal rod in it to keep it out straight, which makes sense, because it wouldn't look very prestigious if it just lying their looking dead. I don't know, you think NASA would have spent a little more effort storing their beloved flag considering it'd be an iconic moment lol. Don't store it flat or anything, just crumple it in a ball and shove it in a tiny little compartment..
  17. I was looking through that list on Wikipedia and I think it was a RadioShack Tandy TRS-80 Personal Computer. Apparently I was wrong calling it a game console. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tandy_Color_Computer The first image looks very familiar and the red green blue by the logo seems to ring a bell so it must be it.
  18. There are a lot of times I prefer 2D to 3D. A big reason is because 3D games need really good hardware to run. Some of my favourite games like Civilization went to a 3D engine and I could hardly play it. I had to turn off all the fancy effects and it was still laggy but playable. I bought this computer a few years ago, and at the time it was a pretty good stock one, I couldn't even run some games released that same year! And even recent games I had to set everything on LOW. Not to mention the ones to come in years to come would take half a dozen of my computers to run enjoyably. Graphics cards cost quite a bit of money, too! Especially since their usefulness expires so fast. But assuming I had a great computer 3D still annoys me sometimes. I play a lot of strategy games and in the recent years they've been going to 3D with the ability to zoom and rotate the screen. In my opinion, that makes playing the game annoying. Like with Rome Total War.. I love that game, it's excellent, it looks amazing and breathtaking, but half my game time is spent spinning around the camera and trying to zoom out and fly halfway across the map. It feels like I'm watching beautiful chaos instead of commanding an army. It's like that with a lot of strategy games. It gets frustrating, and sometimes I yearn for the times when strategy games were just simple 2D games. That's not to say I hate 3D games, because I don't. It depends on the genre, I guess. I love a realistic action-shooter game and I thought Morrowind was a pretty impressive 3D RPG.Doom III was kind of boring and disappointing at first but I went back to it a year after I got it and it was okay in short spurts. It was so dark and dreary every time I beat a level I'd be in a state of depression and need to go for a walk or something lol .
  19. It looked a lot like a Commodore 64 but that's not what it was it had a different name. It could have been a clone of some sort I don't know for sure. It's not really important, I was just going to ask if anyone ever had one but I forgot what it was called . I looked it up on Google a couple years ago and I found it, but now I can't seem to find it. Should have a better memory I guess.. lolI remember this game for it where I think two people played and shot arrows at each other or something. Really simple games back then lol.
  20. I remember this thing from when I was young, it was a big type writer/keyboard shaped thing that hooked up to a television. It had a RadioShack tape recorder with it and the game cartridges were things that looked like cassettes. I remember playing with it a lot. It also had these really old fashioned looking controllers which I think were just a small box with a button and a joystick type thing on top but I'm not sure. What was this thing called? Did anyone else ever use it?
  21. I can play pretty much any game. My first love was real time strategy games and they're probably still my favourite. I like Action games though, and simulations (like sim city or even very realistic/slow and less-game like ones such as Dangerous Waters Naval Combat Sim or something). RPG's are fun, and I get quite addicted, but I'm not as addicted to them as some people. Once I beat an RPG I rarely replay it just to find stuff.I like simple and retro style games too, like from emulators or even newly released games. I'm not too fond of those light repetitive arcade games like "Cake Mania" and stuff though. Games seemed a lot more magical when I was younger. I remember my first experience with Super Mario 64 and seeing it in the stores. I couldn't believe my eyes, I was so amazed.
  22. Is eating meat morally correct? Well, yeah. Unless all the carnivorous animals of the world are sinners. I guess you could say animals don't have morality and that makes them "bad", but eh, I don't think so. All those horror stories about animals living in horrid tightly packed conditions and being butchered by painful machines and what not are a bit disturbing though. Whether that's moral or not, it kind of makes me lose my appetite to think about that. I certainly don't think I could work at a place where animals are treated THAT bad. I really don't think that's natural in the slightest. I I'm an animal lover and I'm against the completely unnecessary (killing and not eating) killing of wild animals but I believe eating meat is part of who we are. It's just how life is, for almost our entire history we've been eating meat. You might attempt to compare eating meat to something like slavery. I've seen this argument before. Our ancestors did it, so it must be morally okay to enslave foreign or less fortunate human beings? Well that can't be right, because slavery is highly frowned upon in the modern world. The thing is, slavery doesn't exist in nature. Eating meat does. That's the difference. I'm willing to bet it's a big factor in where we are today. Cave men ate wild animals, right? Why would they waste all that energy and even their lives were it not for a good reason? Maybe it just tasted better than plants, I don't know, or maybe they realized it was healthy, gave them more energy or something, but quality of food definitely helps a species survive I'd think. Surviving on pine cones and leaves or whatever they ate would kind of suck. Though I'm wondering about the question. Is it EATING meat that people feel is wrong, or is it KILLING the animals? For example, is shooting a wild deer and causing an instant painless bad? What if the deer had survived, chances are it'd have a painful and slow death at the "paws" of a wild animal. At night I often hear the cries of a live deer having it's limbs being torn apart by coyotes. Trust me, shooting a deer in the heart or lungs is an easy way out. I guess in conclusion, I feel that eating meat is perfectly okay. The mass produced chickens etc that you see on those horrific tv shows and the beating of farm animals by a incredibly stupid person with repeated sledge hammer blows is getting to the point where it's not ok. That has nothing to do with eating though. That's the bad qualities of the human race. We're susceptible to greed, even the most gentle person might become a monster if they're making millions of dollars. It's also the sadistic quality of some people who get a kick out of killing things. I eat meat, I love steak, chicken, pork, fish etc. I respect nature and animals though. I'm no blood thirsty monster. Related to this subject, what really annoys me is people who claim to be vegetarian and use all the common anti-meat defenses "it's cruel! it's unnatural!" but it's really because they're overweight and ashamed to admit they're eating vegetables because they're on a diet. I often have barbecues and sometimes a vegetarian cousin will come over and they'll want a fish burger or tofu burger instead of a cheeseburger. They'll tell you how bad it is to eat meat blah blah blah and try to make you not enjoy your food, and it's so obvious they are only saying that to convince themselves to stay away from the fattening stuff. It's the George Costanza phenomenon. "It's true if I believe it's true!" I'm craving a juicy, bloody steak right now though.. yum! By the way, anyone see that Omaha Steak ad that was on the PETA website? I believe it was hacked or something. Pretty darn funny! PETA are kind of nutty. I'm all for caring about animals, and anyone should be free to believe what they want, but their methods are sometimes really bizarre and quite morally wrong if you ask me, if you read about them on google.
  23. I don't understand what you're saying here, kasperooney. When I click on a thread title of a large multi page thread I've never read or even seen before, it loads the first page, first post. Normally I always click the go to first new unread link which seems to work. I tried it on a few different threads and it all works the same. Am I misunderstanding what you're explaining here? In fact, it's that way on every forum I'm a member of.
  24. Hmm. I see. I didn't know it wasn't so great. Good to know, though. I didn't look at it too much and I did learn a few things from it. Do you know any better sites for learning Hindi? I suppose I could just google, but that's how I found HindiLearner lol. I'll look again some time and see what other not very impressive websites I can find
  25. Well I'm officially addicted to downloading Firefox extensions. I've tried almost every extension in your dream packages and even some not on them. They're really cool. I even found one that enables easy disabling of images by double clicking on the status bar. Works good. Now onto the themes...... I don't suppose you have a Dream Theme collection?PS: I think you have "Cache Status" and "Extended Status" in two of your collections.. #5 and #2. Maybe you intended that though. And some of the extensions in #1 say "This add-on is for older versions of Firefox" meaning I can't install on the latest non beta version of FF.
