  1. Sounds a lot like me... Procrastination is one of the skills I have that I want to lose. I often try to do my homework in a room without my computer so I can focus. Then again... I still can't do it entirely, cause I go back to the computer room often and try to check if anyone replied to me, play some music, etc... Sometimes I do my homework at school so I'll have less problems at home. That usually works the best... unless you need to do it at home because of the lack of resources.
  2. When I was a kid, I used to play from sunrise to midnight... I was skinny and I didn't really eat healthy unlike now. Well, I'm still skinny, though I don't play like I used to. I spend more time with my manga and subbing groups nowadays as a translator/manga editor...
  3. Heh... you don't make the internet faster... you just try to make yourself faster. Don't forget that if the server you go to is slow, there's nothing you can do about it. I used to be a fanatic of such programs when I was on dial-up and they're just hypes. I'm not really much of a surfer. I've always preferred to download stuff from the net, so such programs never proved helpful to me. 500 times faster? Get real...
  4. I know how to cook simple dishes that involves you boiling a chunk of meat and hot soup... I love leaving them to boil so I can do other things while I'm waiting for them. I also know how to fry stuff, but I find them troublesome cause I have to give it my full attention... I'm a lazy cooker.
  5. Well... we're set apart from animals because they don't have the kind of intelligence we do. They can't reason out and stuff. If we were gone... there would be less predators to keep them in check XD (as if we're major predators... *rolls eyes*) I still think we're an important part of the ecosystem even if we end up doing more harm than good.
  6. Heh, yeah... I have to agree with you on that one. It's good for trivia, but I don't think anyone would actually use it. If they do, they'd probably shorten it to something. It's... not very practical. It's fun to know... yeah, but it's only useless trivia to me.
  7. Ahh.. classic books. Things that come to mind would be "David Copperfield" by Charles Dickens, "War of the Worlds" by HG Wells, "Around the World in 80 Days", "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea", "Journey to the Center of the Earth" by Jules Verne... Well... basically anything by Jules Verne... ; I love his books. Oh, and "Charlotte's Web". It was the first book that made me cry so bad...
  8. History... ah... one of my favorite subjects. Thankfully my history teacher makes things exciting, so I never get bored. Speaking of repetitive lectures... that reminds me a lot of my geometry teacher. She doesn't really teach organized and she keeps repeating a lot of stuff... :/ I don't think she's got a good grip on the class either. The class overwhelms her with noise. It's sometimes hard to understand what's going on.I'm also a quiet person in class labeled as smart... somehow... so I know what Sinari's going through. I'd probably bear it 'til it comes to pass... Until then, I'll keep on ranting. XD
  9. I did look for stuff on the web before anything else. I want to hear from someone's personal experience here on Trap... I guess I'm interested to see if anyone else here plays it.
  10. I got a violin yesterday as an advanced birthday gift from my dad... I'm psyched, but I'm completely clueless about violin care and other stuff. I recently placed the bridge, but beyond that, I have no idea what to do. I'm planning on having it tuned when I start my lessons. I'm wondering about how I should store it because I'm wary of mites/etc. and such. (I found two small ones when I came back home. I enjoyed squishing them to death, by the way...) I want to hear from your own personal experiences or at least some tips when handling it, etc. :)Thanks in advance
  11. No internet!? O_O Is that even possible? ;_; My future career is goooone gooone foreverrrr~~~ Well... I think I'd go learn how to play the violin, practice martial arts and be buried in books. Well, I think it could change me for the better, but... >_< It hurts! Come to think of it, I have to do my research old school...No wait... If there was no internet... maybe there would be something similar to it but named differently Hmm, I'm thinking too much.
  12. I picked hot coals... Well... they'd have to kill me to make me walk on human poop. If you walk quick enough, you'd be able to withstand the heat... so they say. And... I DO believe in mind over matter
  13. In response to the topic title, I think you're going too rash about this. I know for one that those terrorist groups are just extremists. We can't judge everyone who follows that religion because of that. For example, if an American murders someone in another country, could we say that all Americans are murderers? Of course not! Should we fear them all? I don't think so. This is another sad case of stereotypes. Just because one person or a group does it, doesn't mean that it's everyones fault. I suggest you go learn about their religion more. Approach it with an open mind. Don't jump to conclusions.
  14. Hah... They really come up with the weirdest concepts. Take this one, for example: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ It's supposed to teach English, but for some reason... there's aerobics!?
  15. Bah, I'd call it the Deathgem. You're walking around wearing the remains of a dead person as jewelry. I can't find a more fitting name. Anyway, I must say that I'm a little um... "iffy" about this concept. Do you actually need to carry around the remains of a dead person? I think they should stay where they should... in the graves or something. I doubt you'll ever see your loved one in that jewel. You're better off with pictures. Honestly... I never see the point in this stuff. Corpses need a little respect.
  16. I don't know... IE has already been a target for evil exploiters everywhere. I only use it when I'm desperate. I find it rather interesting that they decided to put tabs and such. They ought to be more daring from the start. :/ Anyhows, I don't think I'm going to get it because I'm already satisfied with my FF and Opera. Well... I think it's mostly because I'm too lazy to upgrade programs. But seriously, I don't think this is worth my time. I might consider it though... someday.
  17. It's pretty good, although the text could've been styled better to fit the theme and to stand out a bit more. A change of colors and fonts might do, but there are plenty of other ways to style it. I like Zelda, and I think that Link render is cute, so... I like it. Good job.
  18. Venting about the vent... interesting.Anyway, a reason why they're making different topics for everything... is cause they might've thought about some other thing to complain about after posting their first rant... I'm not sure if the topic starter can change the topic cause I never tried it. O_o Yeah, I've been here for awhile and I don't know. At any rate, some people just have to release their anger in some way. Maybe if they start up a lot of topics like that, they end up feeling better? Well, I'm not sure if anybody actually feels that way, but who knows... Humans can be pretty strange most of the time especially when put in stressful situations.
  19. I don't think it's possible. BUT, it's possible to prevent people from accessing it... Destroying it altogether? I don't think so. I don't think every single web server will go down just like that. The world is a wide place... Unless something happens like a world-wide black out or some weird natural phenomenon... The internet will vanish for some time, but I don't think it will be gone forever.
  20. Grr... reading that made me annoyed too. I get that treatment from my male busmates that are around 2 or 3 years younger than I am. They go talk about gaming consoles and stuff... I know what they're talking about, and I show them that I know, but they'd rather talk to their guy friends. I hate it when some guys think women are computer illiterate and stuff. >_< I hear things like "Games are for guys only." and some related crap. It's all about stereotypes. Oh, and when I go to computer shops and go ask around, I get weird looks. Well, I'm still young (I'm turning 16 a month from now)... and moreover... I'm a girl, so they probably think it's weird for me to be asking about such things like computer specs and stuff. The clerks don't even know anything. All they know is that they're selling such and such but... specs?I'm also annoyed that the guy didn't even acknowledge your presence. Is your brother the interpreter or something? Does that guy only see men? Jeez... People who don't look at the person they're talking to are rude. If that happened to me, I'd complain to the manager or something. Being treated like that is something I just can't tolerate!
  21. Like most people here, I highly doubt they'll do that. First of all, sending viruses out like that is illegal. Secondly, if they did that, they would lose all the reputation they've been trying to protect all of these years. I don't think they're THAT desperate. Moreover, it doesn't seem right... sending out viruses just because they have pirated copies. It's like they're responding to evil by doing more evil... That doesn't usually end up right. It's also a pretty shallow reason.
  22. Heh, that was hilarious... XD I never thought of something like that before. Well... that was technically... a dead end.
  23. They've been doing that for some time now, I would hardly consider it Hot News... However, it may be true. Since games are made to entertain, it could be used to educate as well and keep kids more interested. Educational games usually don't work for me... I'd rather do more playing than actual learning. I remember playing "Slime Forest", an RPG made to help people learn Japanese Characters (I only played it for the Kanji)... I didn't really pay attention to the characters. I only wanted to explore some more ignoring my mistakes. I was in it for the game and not the learning experience... :blink:Well, things don't go well for everyone. I learn better the hard way I suppose. It could be because I could hardly concentrate on learning when in front of the computer.
  24. Hah, that's nothing... I've got annoying people downstairs playing with firecrackers BEFORE Halloween! Obviously they like New Year and all, but I wish they'd use it during the right ocassion. It's really annoying having them go off when you least expect it. Then you go and jump in surprise... It's not fun. Really... it's not.
  25. Haha... interesting topic. Though I've thought of the same thing as Nani_Cheri. I think they had cloth for it... or at least animal hide. For the pre-toilet paper stuff, I think they'd use anything. O_o If they have no other choice, they probably use their hands... (ew) But of course, I'm sure they have water for that. I still think they use their hands as a last resort because it'll reaaally stink and people they meet will get grossed out. They probably used anything like leaves and other stuff.I'm so thankful I'm living in an age where it's pretty hygienic.
