  1. Part-time jobs are no option. It's different here in the Philippines. Plus I look nothing like my age. (Even if I'm old enough to get a part-time job, I wouldn't want to get one and my parents wouldn't either.)THINGS WORKED OUT!My mom talked to my dad about it some more, and he let us stay where I am now. It's not practical and all... my future uni is just around the block and if I move nearer to my current high school, I'll only be able to experience the comfort for only 2 years... What's the point? Plus... our current area is strategic. It's near all the landmarks like malls and stuff.
  2. Indeed... what happened to that? I just got back one day and saw it missing. It didn't seem too much of a bother, so I went on my way as if nothing happened. Anyway, interesting idea. It's kinda like the rep system before, except that you get credits for it this time. It'll probably make more people a bit more helpful. Just my two cents.
  3. I've done this once... I was so stunned, I couldn't believe I was in control of my dream. It didn't feel eerie or something... it was just like a normal dream to me, except that what I wanted to do sorta became reality in the dream. I wasn't in full control, but I still had some sort of influence over it.My dream was about me being in some strange world. I can't influence the environment too well, but I can influence what I do. (Something I wasn't able to do before) When I woke up, I just knew that dream was different from the others.
  4. I voted No in the poll, but I've used it before. I know myself. I'm not the blogging type, and I got pretty sick of it after a while. It was more like a chore. Sigh... I probably need to get these creative instincts of mine going. Then again... being the procrastinating type... *mumbles*
  5. Aww how cute. I use masks for things like that though. This seems much easier... Thanks I could probably use this someday... when I get around to thinking of changing my site layout. It needs to get a move-on... really... but I'm too busy...
  6. Another rubbish eh? Jeez, they're getting desperate. Only newbies would fall for that. Anyway, thankfully, I haven't gotten one of these yet. I don't want to waste my time seeing such a poorly made joke.
  7. For some reason, I think PC rings a bell. It could emulate pretty much anything as long as it has a software programmed to do it right. Besides, if that console breaks, then so long to all that wasted money. I still think the PC could do pretty much the same thing as long as it has the proper tools and people to do the job of programming some software for it.PS: It'll be hard getting permission from those towering game companies to make them allow you to "replicate" their consoles.
  8. I've been hearing about this for a while. I do want to have an invite though, despite knowing that I won't be able to invite anyone much for a while. ^^ I think my email is in my profile? If you see it, and wish to send an invite to me, please change the yahoo to gmail, okay? I'm trying to avoid spammage in my gmail address. :ph34r:Edit:=_=So that's...icemarle@yahoo.com <-- change yahoo to gmail
  9. Wow... wow... I can almost hear them talking when I was watching this... I also remember seeing the movie before and I have to say it's pretty well done! Of course, there are limitations like perspective, but this is a really good job! @_@ Amazing... the power of text.
  10. Actually... about that self-destruction thing... I felt that way with my HP PSC 750 All-in-one before. I loved it very much, especially the scanning/copying option but it started acting up after a year or so and my dad blamed me for it. To think I did nothing wrong... but it's not about that. When we needed the scanner the most... we weren't able to use it. I tried every "remedy" I found in the internet but they were only either temporary or bogus. Also, the printer started working up needing an alignment. BUT here's the catch. The printer does it by itself. It will print a page for you, then... you need to SCAN it so it will self-repair! How can I align the cartridges when I can't even scan!? Another thing... the prompt to align the cartridges happens EVERYTIME I try to print something and refuses to print what I want! So I had to say "bye" to that hardware and greeted my Canon All-in-One. It's been more than a year now, but everything is still in top shape! I'm pretty satisfied with it now.electron, sorry to hear that, but at times, the only way to fix it is to get a new laptop. If it's really expensive to fix it, why not get a new one? @_@ HP is going down the drain...
  11. Like some others here, I didn't know this beforehand... I never thought there was such a word til now... I was of course, thinking that the "right" in copyright meant the word "right" which is used in a context like "The right to freedom." Who knew they would coin a term using "left" making it the opposite to copyright? I certainly didn't expect it. ; Still pretty interesting to know, though. Thanks for digging this up.
  12. Hm... yeah... It's been more than 2 weeks now. Does it really take that long? Anyway, I've decided to stick around and wait for it longer. Thanks for the reassurace~ ^^
  13. I have a lot to worry about besides moving houses... The guys in my group sent some manga from Japan to me here in the Philippines... I'm worried about the package mailing system here. They may not get here in time when I start to move to a new house. I heard it's been sent a week ago and it still hasn't arrived. I've heard things from theivery to huge delays in sending like a few months delay. That's insane! I need to get my package or I'll be in big trouble. Those things (manga) cost a lot... and I was the one who asked to have it delivered here... Now it'll be all my fault. I don't even have a job! I know there are some Filipinos here... do you have any experiences with the local postal system here, particularly about packages?
  14. Wi-Fi areas? Maybe near the malls... :/ Wireless broadband... yes... we have those here, but I don't really need it to be wireless and we already have a lot of costs to consider.
  15. Yay... so we're moving houses. I don't mind that idea, but when I learned that my DSL provider can't transfer their services to our new area......and that I have to pay P3000 for a pre-termination fee... (though yes, I know that and I don't mind that)The thing that upsets me is that when I move... I may have to switch to dial-up again. The other alternatives are expensive and I have to pay another P2000 for installation and P1000/month. My dad didn't like that idea either... so he suggested the dial-up option.I finally got my DSL in late May!! I found a really good ISP! Now I have to say good-bye to it again! School just started a month or so ago, and now my dad's thinking of moving houses! I have to change my school bus... or as my dad suggested... commute (great, more risk... yay~)I need my DSL for a lot of things... things I can't do with dial-up (like setting up my own webserver). I'd do anything to pay for it... I'd sell my old gadgets (Gameboy Color)... sell my old textbooks just to pay for it! I'm not allowed to take part-time jobs either. My folks will never allow me to work in some restaurant, and I'm not enthusiastic about that either.Another annoying thing is I see my dad spend a lot of money for some crap and here we are lacking food at home... he only ever comes home on weekends too... and when we ask for money cause we NEED it, he whines. It's horrible... now he calls telling us he's seriously into moving houses, but now there are a lot of things to consider.Anyone got any ideas? *sigh*
  16. 55... Well... I do tend to get these selfish urges... I always say "No" when my friends are abusive. I also have a select group of friends... I have this cold barrier around me. I sometimes hear my friends telling me that *person* tries to talk to me, but can't for some reason. XD I guess I'm too aloof? Though when you're my real friend, I'll do everything to protect you. This happened several ocassions. I remember when my best friend got misunderstood by some classmate... I tailed that classmate down and confronted her. I'm that kind of friend.
  17. Uhh... really now? First of all, Ipod is a hardware. Google is a website. If you're going to make predictions like that, at least back it up with proof. Microsoft will always be popular no matter how many people put it down or rant about it. It was like Man's First Step on the Moon. I don't have anything against Apple. I think they're quite promising, actually... But I don't think they can gain instant popularity either. It just takes time... Who knows? Maybe after a few decades, Apple will be the one on top. (But please, don't compare it to Google. I agree with rvalkass... You can't compare a web company to a mostly-hardware one.)
  18. I'm pretty sure he'd develop his own language. People are born to think. Even if there's nothing... we still have the capacity to think. He'd probably mumble a few words to himself and stuff... and try to unleash his innate creativity. I'm pretty sure he'd start to look for food first... and fulfill his basic needs... and then maybe he'd start asking philosophical questions. "Why?"
  19. Wow... I'd like to have one of these things! I've always imagined being tied behind my back and getting loose with one of these things~ I want one!! Though... people here would most likely think I'm crazy... Spending some amount of cash to get one of these destuctive things... but... it's love at first sight! Yeah! Now I just have to earn some money... :/
  20. Actually... I still don't see the point of those stuff. Even if you accidentally <- snipped -> it doesn't really mean that you were interested in going it in the first place, so you leave the site right away. So what happens to those who pay to get their site advertised through pop-ups? Nothing. They don't really get the visits they need most of the time and they gradually become infamous. Nobody likes being forced to look at something. They're as annoying as those guys forcing brochures in your face about some real estate company.}}
  21. Seen it already... The plot wasn't so good... but it was fun to watch. Well... it's supposed to be the fun that counts, right?
  22. Actually... I'm the silent-type in class. I want people to be frank to me... When I notice they're hiding things from me because they don't feel good about me, I ask them to tell me straight to my face. However, it may be different the other way around. Like I said, I'm the silent-type. I'm not really good at being spontaneous with my words. I always need time to compose myself. Actually, I'm gradually... accepting what's happening. Though when the time comes when I can't take it anymore... I may just say it.
  23. I believe they expect you to know that kids are kids... but that's no excuse to bring them to a movie theater and distract everyone! I remember some kid just placed his feet on the back of my seat and occasionally kicks it... It's so annoying... Even if I administer my presence, nobody cares... Some parents should really learn how to teach their kids good manners and have proper discernment.
  24. I never actually saw had her do that to me (the staring thing) so I wouldn't know. Well, the reason why most people probably saw it the wrong way was because she was sitting at the front row. Then she'd seemingly stare at random people which, of course, makes them confused. (I see her doing that to other people, though when she kinda looks at me, I don't really think about it much... I just ignore it and do something else)Sigh... she tailed us again... I know she's trying hard to fit in and stuff... but she's trying too much. I've been meaning to tell her this since last year, but one of my friends won't let me.
  25. She's not tailing me. Just someone from my group... I don't think it's me. I don't like the way when she acts so "close" it's like she's being too forceful. Last year, my class had problems with her because she kept staring at people for no apparent reason. Classmate notices ABCD is staring. Classmate: Why are you looking at me? ABCD: Nothing... And her stare is really freaky... ._. I don't know how to explain it... By the way, most of my classmates don't like girls acting like boys. That could be another reason why they shunned her. (Most of the class did anyway) If you end up being nice to her, she'll tail you. She'll start acting so close that she goes as far as: 1. Putting hand on your shoulder... Commonly done while walking. 2. Crack up corny jokes 3. Do "Friendly" punches [this, of course, will not hurt in any way] (obviously, girls won't take this in a nice way) 4. Tail you 5. Tail you some more! My friend's experiencing this at the moment. She noticed that ABCD doesn't follow her when she goes to the washroom, however... (and it's not like she went to a cubicle or anything either.) Anyway, I don't mind her. I just wish she'd stop tailing people!
