Formatting Your Hard Disk what happens to the drivers?
BuffaloHelp replied to Jeune's topic in Hardware Workshop
Formatting a hard drive is like a sand castle being washed away by rising tide. In a way, it resets the ground floor for new building structures. If you are planning to format your hard drive and reinstall everything, I would recommend at least having the network driver at hand. This is, of course, provided that you have a broadband connection. As ghostrider mentioned once you install your operating system the basic features will be given to you: video, mouse, keyboard and generic CD-ROM function. And when you install the network driver you can fully use the internet to update or download any specific required drivers for your hardware. You can also prepare drivers before the format. Download all manufactures' updated drivers and burning to a CD would do just as well. -
Question: Using Trap17 To Sell Things checking
BuffaloHelp replied to Matrixdudej's topic in Web Hosting Support
Well, members have tried in the past but with hosting credits. Again, use every caution possible when exchanging money for a service. I will not prevent you from doing so but if the experience happen to end up distastefully, I would hate to think that Xisto is somewhat responsible. You can search for any member using Community > Members. In this case, OpaQue is part of moderating team so you can have the direct list of all moderators of Xisto forum. This link is only available in the main board's index page, Board Statistics box "The Moderating Team" link. http://forums.xisto.com/index.php?app=forums&module=extras§ion=stats&do=leaders -

...and to think millions of girls used to look up to her as a role model.I guess I have no right to judge since I could be judged as well.. but I heard that she never graduated her junior high school? What do you expect from a 9th grade drop-out?If this is a first step towards her rehabilitation well good for her! It's a radical symbolic gesture that only she can prove to the world she's serious about her commitment to change. This can come from the recent Anna Nicole Smith incident. Perhaps from one tragedy a celebrity's life can be saved.

If this Office XP was purchased (not installed as OEM) and registered with Microsoft, you can phone Microsoft support line and retrieve 24 digit registration key. They will walk you through the whole process of re-activating the Office XP.Microsoft will not issue another license key unless you purchase one. This will cost the same as buying one from a retail location.

Question: Using Trap17 To Sell Things checking
BuffaloHelp replied to Matrixdudej's topic in Web Hosting Support
Trap17 offers hosting account for you to do with as you like. The things you cannot do are already mentioned in Xisto's AUP (see Xisto Readme for details). Creating forsale page/site is not against AUP--Acceptable Usage Policy. You just have to watch what kind of items are for sale, in your case again not against AUP (as far as I know). Regarding donation: OpaQue truly appreciates any donation to Xisto, although he no longer provides where to donate. What I would do is contact him directly and discuss your plan. Or, you can simply purchase HOSTING CREDITS so that it's a win-win situation; you get hosting credits for donating and OpaQue can reserve your donation towards Xisto and Xisto operation. Again, this is completely up to you. Thanks for thinking of Xisto Purchasing Hosting Credits: Board's Top page menu Credits > Purchase Credits -

Question: Using Trap17 To Sell Things checking
BuffaloHelp replied to Matrixdudej's topic in Web Hosting Support
LOL You still haven't answered the question: listing item(s) for sale on your hosting account or on the forum? I'm sorry... it's a running joke around my friends. A friend of mine answered to this question like you. Waitress: ...so for your side dish what would you like; salad, potato, soup or fries? My friend: Yes, please. -
I'm not sure if you're re-applying... but according to your profile you are already a member of GFX Crew: Do you need an access to GFXTrap.com bios page? Also, GFX Crew! check out the new link in the main forum index page, Forum led by: T17 GFX Crew under Graphics forum for simple at glance look at all GFX Crew

One Click To Copy Script In IE6 it works, but not FF2
BuffaloHelp replied to jlhaslip's topic in Programming
The javascript execCommand() apparently works only for Internet Explorer. So perhaps a new javascript is needed that does not use execCommand(). Check this page: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ for allowing Firefox and Mozilla to enable to copy to the clip board. The better copy and paste script should work, by default, in IE and Opera. The following code seems to work for all browsers <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> <!-- // Copyright (C) krikkit - krikkit@gmx.net // --> [url=https://www.haider.li/; // // This program is free software; you can redistribute it and/or // modify it under the terms of the GNU General Public License // as published by the Free Software Foundation; either version 2 // of the License, or (at your option) any later version. function copy_clip(meintext) { if (window.clipboardData) { // the IE-manier window.clipboardData.setData("Text", meintext); // waarschijnlijk niet de beste manier om Moz/NS te detecteren; // het is mij echter onbekend vanaf welke versie dit precies werkt: } else if (window.netscape) { // dit is belangrijk maar staat nergens duidelijk vermeld: // you have to sign the code to enable this, or see notes below netscape.security.PrivilegeManager.enablePrivilege('UniversalXPConnect'); // maak een interface naar het clipboard var clip = Components.classes['@mozilla.org/widget/clipboard;1'] .createInstance(Components.interfaces.nsIClipboard); if (!clip) return; // maak een transferable var trans = Components.classes['@mozilla.org/widget/transferable;1'] .createInstance(Components.interfaces.nsITransferable); if (!trans) return; // specificeer wat voor soort data we op willen halen; text in dit geval trans.addDataFlavor('text/unicode'); // om de data uit de transferable te halen hebben we 2 nieuwe objecten // nodig om het in op te slaan var str = new Object(); var len = new Object(); var str = Components.classes["@mozilla.org/supports-string;1"] .createInstance(Components.interfaces.nsISupportsString); var copytext=meintext; str.data=copytext; trans.setTransferData("text/unicode",str,copytext.length*2); var clipid=Components.interfaces.nsIClipboard; if (!clip) return false; clip.setData(trans,null,clipid.kGlobalClipboard); } alert("Following info was copied to your clipboard:\n\n" + meintext); return false; } //--> </script> Source: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ -
A digital camer like this, without soundling like someone who hates off brand names, is usually a product of recycled parts from other companies. For example, the body style and design resembles Sony or Casio (which is also borrowed from Sony) and the sensor CMOS is Canon's part (CCD is Sony's technology). Nokia is not a major player in digital camera lens. So, knowing that the internal parts are components of other products you must realize that certain corners were cut. In this case you are paying for 3MP camera (6MP is interpolated). The key to today's expensive digital cameras, at least with point and shoot kinds, is the time response. You want to quickly turn on, almost zero warming up time and then click and store. Many of off brand named cameras take too long to power on, they need time to charge up the flash and takes forever to focus on the subject. And when you think you got it right it takes nearly full 5 seconds to save it to your digital film. If you can live with that, a mere $120 for the 3MP is well worth it. If you are like me and purchased DXG-308 digital camera with underwater case for $200, there is a reason why it only cost me $200--it is soooooooo sloooooooow when it comes to focus and store; even on some bright sunny days.So know what you are getting in to. Neither I nor you have used this camera before and so you should approach this purchase as though you are willing to gamble on the product. It may actually turn out to be the best 3MP digital camera you'll own; or maybe not. For the gambling purpose I would not pay more than $100 given the fact that there's no optical zoom.

The new shoutbox by Dean uses AJAX scripting. So if you cannot see the shoutbox or see the shoutbox but no one is shouting or can't shout, please log out and close your browser. Then reopen your browser and log in again. This new AJAX shoutbox was written for Firefox (Dean's one and only browser from now on) and the only browser that cannot 'render' this shoutbox is Netscape. It is possible that your browser or computer cannot handle the new cookies called STRONGHOLD. Although many solutions were brought to my attention I still believe that it's your java (like jlhaslip posted) version or your firewall/ad or cookies blocker. One of forum members put quiet strongly to me and denoted my intelligence, that by placing your local time zone to -1 than yours fixes this problem. Who knows... it might actually work for some.I have tested the shoutbox and making posts on IPB 2.2.1 using IE6, IE7, FF1.5, FF2.0, Opera9.1 and Safari with operating systems 98SE, 2000, XP and Mac OS X without any issues.

http://forums.xisto.com/topic/33314-topic-rating-explained-a-part-of-new-v214-board-feature/ I wrote an introduction to Topic Rating system. Also, What Is...? is not for asking a question. Please read each forum description. You should know this by now

What do i have to do now? Is this error message comes from not able to create an album initially or during your uploading a picture file? If you're getting this message during your upload, please select the category while uploading. Also, I no longer have the control over which filetype up be uploaded since the new version of IP.Gallery does not provide this setting control. So if this error message shows up even after all your settings, try the simpler filetype-jpg, jpeg or gif. If you happen to find out how I can manage filetypes please let us know

I think vujsa found the problem and I have addressed the issue. Please report to see if you get any more pop-ups. Since Xisto no longer features ADS for all registered members, there should not be any pop-ups.Thank you.

Question: Using Trap17 To Sell Things checking
BuffaloHelp replied to Matrixdudej's topic in Web Hosting Support
Currently we do not allow or prevent from items exchanged on Xisto on a good faith system. However, Xisto is not responsible for any altercation rendered during or post agreement between the seller and the purchaser. Therefore, Xisto strongly discourage any exchange of goods or services using this forum.Use every caution whenever possible. -
According to Whois records, that domain does not exist or registered. Perhaps a spelling mistake?

Brace For New Hosting Account Suspend
BuffaloHelp replied to BuffaloHelp's topic in Alerts, News & Announcements
AstaHost has to change otherwise the security of the forum is at stake. The forum is not upgraded so that the forum can have all these pretty features. It's upgraded to prevent any forum hacks thereby compromising ultimately your hosting account and credits. If hosting account wasn't important, the forum can always recover from database backup. But this will work against the hosting credit, like we've seen in the Xisto--loss of hosting credits. The better statement is the forum upgrade is alright but the new AJAX shoutbox should be fixed. And this is up to the author of D22 shoutbox Dean. Dscripting.com is not acknowledging any wrongness of the current D22 shoutbox. And I'm afraid for all those who depend on Dean's shoutbox is at his mercy. This topic is to warn possible database revert because the forum database has been attacked in recent days. And if this is the same as Xisto, Xisto will experience database restore after the forum version upgrade. -
It's probably because I had to rebuild the forum skin cache. You should be able to post without any problem from now on. Please let me know via PM if you can't post. In the mean time, I have made the shoutbox to appear only on the board index page so that ALL members can benefit the Xisto community. Since I cannot trouble shoot individual computer's setting I made it easier for all of us to disable shoutbox from appearing on every page. To chat contineously, use the Xisto Shoutbox line http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ UPDATE: This still did not resolve for one member. So the board is featuring two skins for now: Default and Lite. Lite skin was used by vbritton and still reports as successful in making posts. Please use this skin when posting until further notice. Forum skins can be choosen by going to the bottom of the page (any page) and selecting an appropriate skin. Thanks guys.
