Windows Xp Professional And My Assignment.
Chesso replied to Chesso's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Well yeah it is only for this assignment.I have a spare partition ready for it, and they expect assignments basically weekly and I have been behind due to some work that I can't get done, either due to lack of their assistance or ability to answer questions (rather than give off answers that are pretty much not relevant what so ever to what I asked.....).I have been under the assumption, that they had improved the work material since the last time I checked into it (when my missus was doing the Certificate under my current one, which she failed miserably even with my heavy assistance), and why?Well they had assignments on things such as, business only printers made by Apple in 1986 that cost $1000+, that were discontinued in 1988. Mostly to do with it's installation (using serial ports, I haven't used a com port for a pinter in over 5 years and I'm technically new to computing) lol. That and the fact that it was based on an Apple Mac computer (the printer only worked with Apple Mac as they apparently had somewhat different hardware to todays ordinary PC's), so it was impossible for her or me to do the work, and they couldn't let it off and expected it done anyway :S -
Windows Xp Professional And My Assignment.

I don't know many people with PC's, and the ones that do only have Windows XP Home edition like I do.Microsoft were useless, and to add insult to injuyr it was "mohammad" or something that replied with a message that had almost absolutely nothing to do with my enquiry what so ever and took longer than 24 hours.....It was about 5 sentences consisting of telling me to go bug the people who handle Microsoft products here in Australia bout purchasing decisions (I made no comment on any kind of purchasing or locally, and I specifically mentioned the TRIAL I was looking for, FOR STUDY), I think this guy needs to learn english again.Although his reply in english was good, he clearly can't read it very well lol.And even OTEN themselves are in a bind because all of their idiot employee's and teachers can't see what the problem is, apparently they don't have any understanding of CPU, 32-bit, 64-Bit and Operating Systems, heck the woman on the phone practically encouraged me to go and download it from anywhere I could (just not in so many words).......And this isn't the first or most major floor in their course work I have pointed out and had them correct, and I'm being smashed and cottled on my work by (only female teachers) trying to tell me that a Library is not IT heavy enough for me to use for an assignment looking for insight into an IT business (libraries look pretty darn IT heavy to me....) and yet they can't understand what a CPU is........Where on earth do these people learn to be teachers, and while I am ranting lol, how on earth do people get employed by Telstra when every single one I have spoken to (around 20+ different technical support people), can't even outmatch me in whits with there own job. Heck they went as far as calling me a liar the other night (upper management and several technical support officers), for about 2 hours until I pulled the undeniable, and most basic mathematics to prove them wrong and a simple screenshot to shut them up.LMAO indeed, and people I know wonder why I get so cocky .And now my rant is finished, it feels good, hope nobody minds lol. -

Well buying it isn't much of an option.I don't have any money lol, no job and it's only for an assignment (I have XP Home SP2 but they require professional). They should be open today so I'm going to bug them on the phone for providing such a dumb link from material that is quite old and there is no way even a good minority would have 64-Bit CPU's when the material was written. Thanks for the help! -
Hello,I'm doing an Information Technology Certificate through OTEN here in Australia and am having some issues that you might be able to help me with (they expect me to work weekends but there not open >_>).I have an assignment that requires me to Install, Configure, Update etc an Windows XP Professional Operating System.I don't have the Professional flavour of this Operating System, and the Windows XP Professional trial that they link to in the Assignment material is only the 64-Bit Edition of Windows XP Professional.I could not find a 32-Bit version, though I have emailed Microsoft as well, just in case they do.Now as far as I know, a 64-Bit Operating System (A Windows Operating System in particular) will not run with a 32-Bit cpu, is that right? As mine is not 64-Bit capable.Any help is greatly appreciated,Regards, Chesso

Need Support Urgently? Admin Absent? Read This...
Chesso replied to miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG's topic in Web Hosting Support
Yeah, I have actually asked about problems here in the forum, not that I think about it.but they weren't really cricitical and wanted to discuss the issue with board members at the time anyway, lucky lol. -
There isn't a section for it already?Hmm, well if we got Javascript and things like then I guess we really should, especially if people are looking for somewhat CSS specific help, it would make the information much easier to find.I vote for it I guess lol.

That's a really good idea to post this information, some poor people might not even realise this but they should now lol.Is this stickied, or put across all sections of the board in that special part at the top? It probably should be, just to remind people so they are always aware.Good job either way bringing this up! -
Which Operating System Is Better? Its a poll
Chesso replied to swinkid's topic in Websites and Web Designing
The Mac Interface? ROFL, Linux Power Tools? ROFL again, indeed. What Windows needs is some real flexibility in the departmant of looks (some real theming) and some better tools for keeping everything running smoothly (we still pretty much have the same old stuff....). -
What was that last bit about poo and wee lmao?

Yeah, I was told at some point earlier on, it was just a little easier around Xisto, less technical based somewhat. -

Is anyone here familiar with Dink Smallwood? well one of the authors of that game is involved in greating a 2d game maker, and although it is not near completion it is starting to look very promising.Just search "Dink Smallwood" and go to there mains ite and you should find linkage to the game maker.

There are some ways they could have advertising placed on user sites.Just as long as they give good options for many layouts and ones that don't protrude too much.Something like Google's Ads, they give you considerable options, for size, placement, look and feel. -
Who Is Your Favourite Free Host? whats your fav free host?
Chesso replied to teartrack_sos's topic in General Discussion
Well if it makes you feel any better, I have been hosted here for almost as long as I have joined up here (you can see in my posts of my join date and post count etc) and never really had much of an issue to complain about.I think maybe once or twice in all this time, and I can't even remember what those problems were (so they were probably very minor), and that's under free hosting, I can't complain at all that's for sure. -

Yeah Xisto is kind of like a partner thing to this I believe? or something along those lines.I much prefer this particular community though for sure. -
I don't have a problem with the graphics, I mean, I'm pretty sure they are intentional and it does have a nice and somewhat unique look and feel to it.I'm not sure how much has changed since I last played it, as I said, but from that time I really wished there was a lot more to do, like real virtual jobs to earn a living in the game, rather than people setting up there own things, and a lot of people getting ripped basically. And some proper games ran by staff.

I cannot begin to stress just how important the above is, about making damn sure any back-ups, especially vital ones are to be in perfect working order. I have burned off back-ups in the past, just nice and fast, not paying too much attention to it all in a rush and not verifying the disc or medium is in working order, only to need it later down the road and the darn thing can't access anything :|, also be vary wary of cheap cd's/dvd's.

By the sounds of what they are offering, it sounds way to good to be true. Not even payed hosting (at least not the average sort), offers that kind of bandwidth and space.I suppose they assume no one will ever use even a fraction of that amount heh. -
Very nice tutorial, and a good idea to have it up here for all to refer to.I have had to do this task considerably over the years, though I do often get stuck with bits and bobs as I forget (as the span of doing this is often months in difference), so it is very useful to have somewhere to refer too.
