For php development i use the eclipse IDE with the PHPclipse plugin. I is a very good IDE since it has all of eclipse's benefits and features along with the colored syntax, linking, etc. It will check you code to make sure it is valid and correct for what ever type set you are using (XML, XHTML, etc.). For me its great cause i do almost all of my development in eclipse so i never have to use a different program to update a website, correct code in an application, etc.

Hey everyone. I am writing an all div layout for my friends website and i just cant seem to get all the fields aligned properly. I can get all my images to be aligned and look great until i put any text on the site. For example, my box that will contain links and such has 3 parts: top, middle and bottom. Each of these have 3 parts: left, middle and right. To program the 3 parts of each row, i use 3 divs which are all floated based on their position. However, as soon as I put text in the middle area, the right image is moved down to a new line. The sample site is located at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. Good configuration but you will want a Nvidia graphics card instead of ATI. Since your motherboard supports the newest 680i chipset, you will see a huge increase in performance of two cards in SLi. Plus, Nvidia has started to blow ATI out of the water with the performance of their cards. I am a graphical programmer (write gaming graphics, research rendering techniques, etc.) i have plenty of experience with both and have talked to people in both companies and really look at the properties of the cards. Nvidia is way better at any sort of vertex and pixel operations because of their layout, chipsets, chip speeds, and most importantly the number of pipelines they allow a programmer to access. Plus, nvidia has certain tools and protocols that only work with their cards that really increase performance of many operations that developers use all the time.

The reason this is big is that is a 2.5'' hard drive and not a 3.5'' hard drive. The size is the important part because this means it is a laptop hard drive and not a desktop one. Since flash memory is becoming increasingly popular because it is solid state and small, it is important for traditional hard drive makers to increase their storage for laptops. Desktops will keep the traditional hard drive because of the drast difference in the sizes available. Laptops on the other hand want the most space in the least size and that uses the least amount of power. This is a good thing for all of us laptop users who fill the typical 80 gig hard drives without a problem.

I would say that you should go with the PS3 if you want a system that will be amazing for the next few years and not just another 1 or so. The XBOX 360 has a bunch of very good games at the moment and the graphics appear the same as the PS3 at the moment, but it has to do with it being out longer. In the next year or so the developers will have figured out how to utilize all of the power the PS3 has to offer and its graphics will clearly dominate. Plus, the PS3 has some amazing games lined up to come out and that will help them.

No your height is normal. Some people grow earlier than others. My ex girlfriend was 5'3 in sixth grade and hasnt grown since. You just might have grown to your max and everyone will catch up eventually. Otherwise, dont worry the guys will catch up soon.

1. When i drink, i drink with friends and drink to go out and such so i put back 10 - 20. However, if i have a casual beer, normally just 1 or 22. Depends on the type of beer and what bar i am at but anywhere from $2 for a 25 oz to $5 for one bottle3. Favorite beer has to be Yuengling. I love its taste, fillingness, etc. It is sooo good and is brewed near where i live so it isnt even expensive

I use IE 7 for my everyday use but i use Firefox, IE 7 and Opera when i am doing web design so that i can ensure that my pages work on the most used browsers. I also check my websites on Konquerer when every once in a while just to make sure they look good in that one too.

i would say you should go with the nokia just because the Razr is known for having trouble. It is really flimsy and easily breaks. I have had numerous friends with that phone and they hate it. Also, the battery life is not very good on it. I do not know anything about the nokia but from what i know about the Razr, that would be my choice

I currently am watching Sports Center on ESPN while i am answering this question. The reason is that i like to either have the tv on or music on when i am doing work since i like having background noise. Since my TV is just a monitor next to my computer, its very easy to do both at the same time. Besides that, i really do not remember when i sat down and watched a whole program just for the sake of watching tv.

Downsides of this is that if you are on a network and are transfering files and then also going online, it will not prioritize or distribute a certain percent of the bandwidth to each operation. Instead if will completely fill your connection with one or the other if your connection can not handle both streams based on their size and such.

Yeah like dre pointed out, the integrated video card is not good at all. I know you are not building the system for gaming or anything like that but if you work in photoshop, etc. a video card is a must. they really are not that expensive since you can get a NVIDIA 8000 series card for like $100. Since you are not gaming, you dont need all the special stuff but you should get a DX10 card if you are going to run Vista. It will increase your performance by a ton since Vista uses pixel shaders for operating systems stuff. Therefore, did you even check to see if vista works with an integrated video card? I really do not know but if it does you will not be able to run the Aero interface which is half the reason you would want to run vista. Besides the video card, everything else looks good. Seems like it will run fine for what you do and what most people would do too. I probably would have to go with a larger HD and a DVD burner since i do a good amount of video editing. Have fun building it since it is kinda fun even though it will only take you a few minutes (maybe an hour at most).

It was probably good for him to plead guilty but his career is not over because of it. He will be suspended for the season and maybe even the next one, but then he will come back. Because of his talent in running with the ball and making good plays on the run, some team will pick him up. If you want an example of this, just look at the NBA which has huge sponsers even for teams and players who have been in the legal system numerous times. People tend to forget and just dont really care if the acts dont personally affect them. That is the way Americans are and that is why he will probably be playing again in a couple of years

I prefer using google. To me, i seem to always find what i am looking for within the first page or so. If i am looking for something hard to find, i still normally get it in the first 5 pages which is amazing. Their site is simple, easy to navigate, and very reliable.

Best way to design is just to fool around with different effects and such in either the gimp or photoshop. Then try to piece together similar looks and make the colors look the same. There also are a few books on this but i completely forget the names of them. Look at other peoples designs and then try to create your own. Those are the only ways i know of on how to learn how to make good designs. It takes lots of practice and lots of messing around. Then you will be able to just vision a design and go with it.

I would definitely shrink the size of the main header image. It takes up way too much of the page on a 1024 x 768 screen. People want content not fancy images so if you can provide both, they are amazed. Make that smaller, improve the text on it so that it stands out more, and the site should be good. I like how your code is valid.

i prefer light and simple designs but it all depends on the content of the site and what type of site they are. If they are for a video game, the site should have colors that define the game. If it is for a service, it should be the colors of the companies logo. A light background and dark font tend to be the easiest to read but I myself even design sites with dark or semidark backgrounds at times. It all depends on the genre of the site.

Trap17 was one of the best finds i have ever had on google. It was / is really the only good free hosting company i have ever used. As you can see ive been with them for a while and it just keeps getting better. I am not going to lie, i have been inactive at times due to traveling, school, life, etc but i always come back a few days / weeks later to make sure my account has not been inactive for too long. I am a 21 yr old male from the US. It s good to see that we have a few girls here in the forum or else those relationship posts would never get a good answer :-). Also, as we know most computer people are guys so its nice to have found some diversity. At Siggraph 2007 in San Diego, it was nice to see some really intelligent girls asking questions and actually showing that they too can be interested / good at computer graphics.

Make sure you are exporting the database as a proper version of sql and that you are importing the same version. Also, as others have said make sure the database already exists or else PHPMyAdmin will not let you create it on Xisto. Finally, make sure the database is correct and not corrupt since i have had bad exports before.

First of all, how do you not have a legal copy of XP? Like every computer in the past three or four years come with a legal version of XP. Plus, if you want a free OS get Linux. As for the price comment, OS's take years to create, develop, and research. This means it costs a very large sum of money to create it and then maintain it. This forces companies to sell the OS's at a high cost. If they did not, the company would not be profitable at all and that means no one would invest in it and the company would fail. If you do not like this fact, you can always go open source and get a free os. The price does not cause more pirated software, people who do not realize how much work goes into an os are the ones that are too naive and thus try to cheat the system.

Yeah this is just like XGL and Compiz for SUSE Linux. Its been out a while and works great as long as you have atleast 512mb of RAM (prefers 1 gig definitely). I do have to agree that it is not the most stable software but really doesnt crash that often. I have had it on my SUSE 9.3 Laptop for a while and it runs pretty smoothly and the laptop is only a 800 mhz p3 with 512 mb of ram and an integrated video card which obviously isnt very good. I also do have Vista and i like the Aero effects and Vista has been very reliable and bug free for me. I play lots of games, create websites, program in DirectX, etc and nothing has frozen or crashed. The only issue i had was with drivers since i got a business copy before it was official released from work since we were corporate licence users we got it early. However, by now all the drivers i need are available and work great. The only thing missing is for peerguardian to finally release a version that works with it :-).Finally, all these graphical interfaces really do not even matter. It just makes things look cooler but doesnt really affect the amount of work / the amount of fun you have on your computer. Personally, i tend to turn the effects off most of the time since i just dont need them for what i do.
