  1. Aye, its a good tutorial, but the final effect does look a bit lacking, adding shadow and embossment like the others said would be a good idea, but often i find in simpler ones when you do that, you might want to make it look like its being reflected somehow, so it looks fuller. It adds ALOT to the final result, and looks very stylish and professional
  2. Mate, everyone hates microsoft because they have a monopoly already. When you go into a computer store and ask to be built a computer, what are your options for Operating systems? Duh.... Xp and Vista? And who makes both of those systems? Uh.... Microsoft? Which means they can literally charge any amount of money that they want for an operating system, because theres no competition! Apple is great, but you need apple parts to build an apple system, and those aren't readily available to mass consumers. Some would Say Linux is the competition, and although i love linux, its extremely hard to get it set up on some peoples systems (Mainly those with ATI cards, or those without intimate coding knowledge) The reason people hate having to pay that much for an operating system is the fact that if there was any serious competition between microsoft and someone else, we would be looking at 50 bucks for a copy of XP and maybe 100 for Vista. The problem is, that just isnt happening, once again, because of microsoft
  3. Haha, well its still sound advice. I find more often than not, people change the way they behave on the internet, so that person you love online, might not be the same personality waiting to meet you at the movies. I had that problem, but its all over now, with message learned as well. If anyone else here knows someone online, probably best to stick with this guys advice. He knows what hes talking about
  4. Aye, and could you possibly make a part about how to safely back up your registry for people who dont know how??
  5. Yes, it does get monotonous, and its nothing like starcraft. At all. Its all text, and some of the most exciting stuff is forging alliances. I mean, one of the common games played is counting. Yes, counting. Like to 1 Million. Then you get some resources, and everyone goes yay!
  6. Nope, no one can tell you what to say, because its not you. Memorizing some lines and spewing them out? thats not who you are, and the words have to come from within you
  7. That is some form of Korean karate, correct? It seems interesting enough, although i really havent heard much about it at all (A few words in conversations from people of different schools)
  8. Well... I hate to add this to bring down the product... but this kind of technology could actually aid rebels in the countries... Wireless networks that would be able to communicate with one another would bring a whole new level to a rebels ability to communicate with other rebels. If comparing this to radios, its basically saying to the kid, this is for you, use it to learn, while that same product could be used to aid rebels in making joint effort strikes.
  9. I do a mixture of martial arts as my instructor has multiple belts in multiple martial arts. The main martial art i practice is TKD, which has a belt system ofWhiteYellow stripeYellowGreen stripeGreenBlue stripeBlueBrown stripeBrownRedBlack (1-8th Dan)I am currently a Red belt, and i am content to stay there for the rest of my life if i have to. In my school, its mainly light to no contact in "formal" classes. I mean this because when you start, you do Tae Kwon do in "formal" classes that are meant to teach BASIC self defence, and tae kwon do. When you become more a part of the community, you are able to take less formal classes, like the adult judo classes, or my personal favorite Fight Night. These classes are mainly about self defence, and are not available to anyone usually under the age of 15-16 (I was the youngest at 15 years old when i joined) Since then i have become a dedicated street fighter, and I have fought with many people from many different settings (All perfectly legal at fight night) And as such, im horrible at tournaments, but when push comes to shove, ill take out any Pure TKD blackbelt. (That being 1-2nd degree, with only tae kwon do background). The other martial arts im in include Judo, Juijitsu, Apkido, Wrestling (non martial art), Boxing (Non martial art), Okanowan Karate and Oriental Weaponry (mixture of a whole bunch of stuff)
  10. Well, you have to do something, and you do have to get to know her, and what she likes. I know this may sound harsh, but some girls dont want someone that will bend to their every need, and they want someone who will be able to rely on for solid advice, and for someone who can really listen. I thought that I was madly in love with someone that I knew once too, but as it ended up, neither of us was a leader, and dates turned into us running around trying to find something that the other wanted to do. Naturally, this lead nowhere. I hope that you find that you two were meant for eachother, but even without that, people are still compatible, and its all about the ability to look over the others flaws. But once again, you must be somewhat outgoing if you want to keep an even relationship with her.Sorry if that doesnt really make much sense with the flow. It is just from experience, and a broken heart.
  11. Oh, thank you, that could prove to be very useful when you use it with some of the other topics here, kind of showing what works best. Hopefully people will use that closely and post results here on what gets the most ranks, while what gets the fewest
  12. Tribal wars is a hugely online game that is free, or you can pay and get a nicer interface, either way, you can still do everything for free that you can as a member, but it will take a little more brain power. You start off with one small village, and have 5 days to grow until you are big enough to defend yourself. You have 3 resources, Wood, Clay, and Iron, and each of those has a respective building to gather that resource IE. for wood, its your Timber Camp. As you increase these in level you get more resources per hour. Then you can start building more buildings, which in turn unlock more buildings. This will eventually lead to you building an army, and a nobleman. A nobleman is one of the most important, and expensive, item in the game. It allows you to take over another persons village. This is how you grow, make noblemen, and attack other villages until it falls under your loyalty. You then begin again, growing up that village until you can get another nobleman. With each nobleman built and each village you conquer, it costs more and more to build a nobleman. Eventually it will take you a week just to afford 1 nobleman. Luckily for newer members to the game, defense is favored hugely over offense in the game, as you cant combine troops from two different villages into 1 attack, but you can send multiple support units to a village, all adding together. You could have thousands of troops protecting a village, but you can only have 1 villages worth of attackers. Seems unbalanced, but it keeps the very strong people from being able to take out smaller onces with just a thought about it. Each world is huge, and new worlds are added all the time. You can also join tribes which will support you, and each tribe gets its own free forum to deal with, and leaders can give out privileges to other people. While this seems like a war based game, alot of the time, its more diplomacy by having ties to bigger, stronger people. You wont attack someone if you know someone 100 times your size is protecting him. So that means that forging alliances between people and tribes is a huge thing in this game, and when attacking comes down to it, its usually quite a big clash... 13. I believe that was an attempt to make a post that didnt look like spam so that he can get more points. No matter. I have actually never... played sim city.. well once, for about all of 2 minutes while my cousin went to the bathroom. It seemed really complex, and apparently the stuff i made cost him half his fortune... oops? im actually looking to get into sim city 4, so ill keep my eyes peeled for it at a retailer or online.
  14. Hopefully, alot of people have been waiting for that game a LONG time, and expectations are high... If its not perfect, it will turn out as nothing, and starcraft will still get more players
  15. Wow, quite a bit for 2 cents he he. But where would you go about finding a solid database of tutorials for learning how to program this. Im curious as to how simple/ hard it would be, as it does seem like it would be worth while learning so you can put it on your resume. This also is another step closer to bridging my gap between hardware and software, which is my goal. Any help is much appreciated :PDOH! just re-read it and saw the book, but are there any good online sites that have tutorials?
