Hi FolkRockFan!I know this is kinda late but...I just want to wish you a warm welcome to the Xisto community. Also , it's nice to know that you're a creative writer as well. I do a bit of writing as well on the side, but unfortunately I haven't had the time to do so recently.Anyway, I'm sure you'll enjoy your time here and that our paths will cross at least several times on the boards.Later!

Skype Review Description of Skype Software
shigajet replied to lairz's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I think Skype is great! I use it on weekends to talk or do a video chat with my family and some of my friends. Aside from the rare instance of the voice coming through a bit choppy, the sound comes through just fine. Some of the major phone companies around the world may not be too happy, though. -
Welcome back!Nice to see a fellow member come back after a break. I'm also one of those people who went on a long hiatus (over a year) before I finally came back to the Trap. I'm sure you're familiar with the rules or have re-read them already by this point. Have fun and stay active on the boards whenever possible.

Saying Hello From London I am not so good with introductions..
shigajet replied to Alastrina's topic in Introductions
Hi, Alastrina, and welcome aboard! I just came back to this community myself after a long hiatus and I'm slowly making my presence known once again. Interesting to note that you anime and manga is one of your interests. That's how I first got into Japan (at least the pop culture aspect of it, anyway) in the first place. Anyway, I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay here. Hope you can stay active on the boards. Notice from electriic ink: Merged accidental double-posts. -
Thanks for the tip, Buffalo. I'll try that route (off-site link, that is)...and I'll remember to be more specific in my request next time.

Cell Phones/ Mp3 Players?!?!?! Thats pretty intense.
shigajet replied to mtanonymous's topic in Science and Technology
Just a curiosity....most cel phones in Japan can take pictures that range from 1.3 to 3.2 megapixels...and I think there are some models that have more than that. How about the North American and European models? -
Hi all. Got a quick question for you. I was wondering how to scale down the gif I have as my avatar (it was originally animated). It seems to have just gone slightly over the file size limit/dimensions and now doesn't move at all. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Windows Vista And Its Problems Seems like a down-grade to me.
shigajet replied to CinnamorollTK's topic in The Vent
Are you kidding? Windows Me was actually a step down from Win 98. -
Do You Know How To Cook? Who cooks their own food?
shigajet replied to FLaKes's topic in Health & Fitness
Erm...did a lot of microwave cooking when I was a university student. When I moved out on my own I tried baking as well...and on the very rare occasion I would try to make tacos. -
Perhaps for those who made the upgrade, the 72 hour countdown may prove to be too much security. On a related note, that kinda reminds me of that Mac ad where "PC" keeps getting interrupted by the security guard ("...cancel or allow?").

My favourite Google features are Video, Maps, Gmail (of course) and (recently) Docs and Spreadsheets. I'd like to put down Google Earth as well, but it takes up too many resources on the PC I have.

As I'm sure all of you know, dust is everywhere. Whether it's common house dust or dirt blowing in the wind out in the park, dust is an annoyance to many, but perhaps there are some helpful qualities about.......so I'd like ask everyone about how dust plays an important role in our environment. Let the responses begin!

Never thought I'd notice this topic, but in one of the textbooks I use for my adult English class, there's a section about conspiracy theories - including the one about the first landing on the moon! I'll give the proof next post.

I believe with Web 2.0 the focus is on the user and what he/she wants. Certainly the rise in web applications accounts for that. Other features include: adjusting the size of text, AJAX, Ruby on Rails, scriptaculous, Digg....the list goes on and on.

I received an invite earlier this year. Pity I haven't had much time to peruse my messages or seek other contacts. Perhaps when I've got some time to spare over the next week, I'll try using it more.

I haven't used Google Talk since it's inception in Gmail...primarily because I usually use Skype or Windows Messenger (default messenger program that came with the machine). I was just wondering...can you use it to talk with those who don't have a Gmail account?

Which is a better search engine?Google or Yahoo
shigajet replied to jcreuter's topic in Search Engines
For me, Google wins the battle of the search engines hands down! Sheer simplicity and speed are main points that I liked about it in the first place...of course, now it's more than just a search engine...and wins even more points from me. -
Seems a bit steep for now, although if I had to choose I'd probably take the Home Premium....as in get a new computer that has it pre-installed instead of getting a separate upgrade package.

If only the MLB used a salary cap system like the NFL or NHL. there would certainly be more parity around the league. Baseball salaries are out of whack, but then again the career span of baseball players only lasts so long what with injuries and age catching up to the abilities they once had when they were younger.

I used to use a Mac myself - my dad used to have one of the first "fat" Macs (512K RAM?) back in 1984 and a Power Mac in 1994. For some reason, though, I've been using Windows for the next 10 or so years. Now I'm considering switching back to Mac; they've certainly come a long way since the early days. Trouble is, the price is a bit too high...perhaps if I make monthly payments....

Ipb Vs. Phpbb2 Vs. Smf Vs. Mybb Vs. Vb
shigajet replied to Default Sicknes's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Having dabbed into a little bit of PHPBB and SMF, I tend to prefer SMF ... except that it's difficult to find many skins for the forums. PHPBB, on the other hand is easy to install and has a ton of skins available. -
For me, I love hockey and basketball. Both sports are exciting to watch on TV - of course, watching it live is much better, and the pace is much faster than baseball and football (IMHO).
