While we're still keeping th etopic alive. The Sens are up against the Pens in the first round - with Ottawa holding home-ice advantage. This time I think the series may go to 6 or 7 games, whatever the outcome.

Cool Web Applications Discovered.
shigajet replied to masugidsk8r's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Thanks for the links. The imeem looks to be most interesting application to me. I already have OpenOffice (portable version) and I use Google services for documents, spreadsheets, as well as a private beta of another web app for creating and organizing tasks and projects. -
Hi Damen, and welcome aboard! I heard about my-php.net somewhere before. Sorry to hear about the invasion of the forced ads, too. Anyway, your friend made a great suggestion - you've certainly found a great community/web hosting service here at Xisto. The people are friendly and always willing to lend a hand if you run into any problems. I'm one of the "veteran" members here and from my experience, stay active in the forums, abide by the rules and you'll rack up credits in a flash!...and if you're really active (and I mean long, meaningful posts that warrant a good discussion) you might even have up to a years' worth of credits (okay..so maybe that one's a bit of a stretch).Hope you enjoy your stay here and see you on the boards!

The Point Of Some Subjects In School Is there one?
shigajet replied to seez's topic in General Discussion
I think just about every subject in secondary school has a point. Math, Grammar, Comprehension, Foreign Languages are quite essential in teaching the basics of life. Geography and History explains how this world came to be what it is today (through human mistakes). Gym/P.E. and Health teach you about the human body. Even the Art subjects allows one to express creativity. -
When I was a kid, I could never have imagined myself watching sex scenes on the TV with my parents. Just too darn embarrassing - especially for me since I was still learning new things during the pre-teen/teen years. Can't really say what would happen now. Perhaps we all might turn a blind eye to it.

Cream Puffs Cream puffs are easy to make
shigajet replied to communitykat's topic in Health & Fitness
Thanks for the great - yet simple - recipe! Aren't you missing the eggs to keep it all together? Maybe it might because of where I live, but a lot of cream puffs here have custard filling (which includes eggs, sugar, etc. all mixed together) inside. -
I also used to write a blog, but other priorities took over and I didn't have the time to post something anymore. Heck, I'd be lucky if was able toćmake a post for every month! Gotta try something different if I want to get back into it. BTW, the only replies I've gotten in the past were relatives (always welcome) and spammers (not so welcome).

How Did You Feel When You Got Gmail? Share it here
shigajet replied to delivi's topic in The Internet
Can't quite remember exactly when I received my first Gmail invite...somtime in early 1994, I think. I was glad to finally get an account though, and I've always used it as my primary account. In fact I have two - one for work-related/resume purposes and one for personal use. By the way, you guys ever saw their April Fool's joke this year? -
In terms of Western comics, I personally like The Far Side as my favourite. That comic is so off-the-wall I love it so much. Calvin and Hobbes comes a close second. In terms of manga (grpahic novels), I've always liked Inuyasha and Ranma. Both of them have great stories and great memorable characters!

Gimp Download And Setup Links to obtain The GIMP Package
shigajet replied to jlhaslip's topic in General Discussion
I've got a question about the GIMP English manual - Is it possible to get it so that you can check for help when you are offline? I've tried a couple of times, but I needed it to be online or else it wouldn't work. -
Free Domain Name Free Domain for Life.
shigajet replied to OpaQue's topic in Alerts, News & Announcements
Sounds tempting...but as much I like to have my own domain name at no cost, I still have a long way to go to reach that number of credits. Guess it depends on how long that offer stands. -
Hello, Lethe, and welcome aboard!Sounds like you have quite a range of interests (including anime, reading, and drawing up layouts). Anyway, if you should ever run into a problem, the people here at the Xisto community are always willing to help out. Hope you enjoy your stay here, and we'll see you on the boards!

Hello All I am looking forward to learning something here
shigajet replied to pinwillie's topic in Introductions
Hello, pinwillie, and welcome aboard!Interesting to see that you're a geneologist. My father's been constructing our family tree for some time now. Quite fascinating to see how far back and where your family roots came from. Mine is pretty much a mix of Scottish, Welsh and English...plus there's some Japanese blood in there now (which comes from my own family).I'm one of the "veteran" members of the Trap 17 community. Like yourself, I also dab in a bit of website/graphic design when I have the time.Hope you enjoy your stay here, and if you ever encounter a problem, feel free to call on the moderators/admins on this forum. So until next time...see you on the boards! -
When I'm not making my contributions (I mean posts) on Trap 17, I usually surf TSN - The Sports Network (especially during the hockey season - both regular and playoffs), Wikipedia, Youngfook.com (and his copany site, Jonkenpon), several blogs of people I personally know, Gmail (and any of the other Google services). At least, that's what I've been doing recently.

Nothing special, really. Woke up...after breakfast, I checked the newspaper and adverisements...went to the local shopping mall...got some birthday gifts that I'll be taking with me on a trip this summer...came back and had dinner...took a bath...hit the computer for a few hours...and now just getting ready to go to bed!

I used to use a Mac as well, and I'm considering switching back - especially since the new MacBooks have the intel dual-core chip.If you also use a program called Parallels (sp?) , you can also switch back and forth between operating systems without having to restart the computer.

Bye, Savage. Wish you the best in whatever you do next and you're more than welcome to drop by the boards anytime and add a few more comments.

Welcome aboard, Casino.Royale! I'm one of the "veteran" members in the community. I currently live in Japan, but I'm originally from Ontario (near Toronto) in Canada. Great to hear that you like hockey, too! Have you got a favourite team? Anyway, hope you have fun posting on the boards and we hope to see more of you in the future. Cheers!

My PC also takes quite a while to start up and shut down, although the latter may be due to the number of programs in the background that must shut off or installing updates. What really bugs me now is the time it takes for the computer to start up - and yes, I've disabled a couple of "non-essential" programs, did disk cleanup, etc. On top of that, opening up programs after startup also take much too long. Could it be a sign that I should maybe upgrade (I bought it at the end of 2003), get a new PC or simply get a Mac?

Welcome aboard, ravin! As much as we're glad that you joined our community, we'd like you to tell more about yourself. Where are you from? What are your interests/hobbies?
