  1. Depends on the quality of pictures you want to take. If you just want to "point and shoot" then using a phone cam over a mid-to-high range camera will do nicely. Same thing goes for the digital music player. Storage is a bit limited, so if you want more song files, perhaps an iPod (or equivalent) is the way to go.Having said all that, if you get a mobile phone then look for one that includes software where you can import sound files from your CD collection.
  2. Seems like I'm in good company here. I also just returned as a member. It's been more than a year since I temporarily moved on. Anyway, welcome back to the Trap and have fun posting!

    I'm Back!

Wow! Nice feedback so far. I luckily had a bit of spare time to make some posts and do my bit for the community. Still got a ways to go though....although I think this time around I'll install some of my scripts manually to keep them up to date.
  4. My media player of choice is Winamp - mainly because it doesn't take up a lot of resources. Both iTunes and Windows Media Player (11) are okay. One player I might want to try out is Songbird. Any testimonials from this one?
  5. Erm....the site design is okay, but you should get rid of the animated torches...plus some of the links didn't work.
  6. Actually, in Australia they're releasing The Smurfs TV series on DVD. I first came across it on the bluebuddies.com forum, where it included a link to a review.
  7. I've got a flip phone as well. Actually, it does more than flip; you can turn it (screen facing out) so that it allows you to hold the phone like a point-and-shoot camera when you take a picture. Really neat.
  8. I think the trick here is to first, invite some people to visit your website to get the traffic started...after all I think Google states that you need to have many unique visitors. At least this is what I would do if I were to start up a blog.
  9. I use Firefox most of the time, although IE 7 is a major step forward (FINALLY, IE has the tabs feature). Still, you can't beat the extensions/skins you can use for Firefox
  10. I think this may have been one of the reasons why I came back. Last time I was here, the second plan was 150 MB. Glad to see the upgrade...what great timing!
  11. I'm not going to upgrade anytime soon...in fact, recently I've been leaning more towards getting a Mac as my next computer. TO upgrade to Vista will require either a brand new PC or upgrade the RAM (plus eveything else) on my current PC. Nesides the first releases are usually buggy.
  12. Interesting topic here, so I'll add my two cents. Blu-Ray discs are getting a lot of promotion in Japan, but only time will tell which of the two products will win the battle. Ideally, you would like a player that's capable of playing both. As mentioned earlier, Blu-Ray discs are too expensive, but like any new electronic product, the price will come down over time...depending on the demand of the customers.
  13. If you like photoblogging and you like taking pictures with your mobile phone, then I think you'll love this site I came across. It's called Pikki and it's a really simple website where you can submit your phone cam photos to the site. You can even take part in a weekly Pikki challenge (the subject of the photo changes every week). If you get a chance to visit it, let me what you think of it.
  14. Since Web 2.0 has become one of the top buzzwords nowadays, I'm curious about the new languages: Ruby (on Rails), AJAX and scriptaculous are several methods programmers use to make web applications. I'd like to build some applications, but the trouble is where to start. How easy is it to make a web app in the first place? Which programs/languages have a learning curve that's not so steep?
  15. Can't really say whether that Yahoo and Microsoft would team up to compete with Google, but the two companies seem to collaborating well (like the search bar for IE 7). ....and of course, who knows what Apple might come up with next
  16. As much as I love the look and features of the iPhone, I'd rather wait until the price drops down a bit. It looks cool and all that, but I'm not in the market for a new cel phone now.
  17. Since I was born and raised in Canada's capital, I'd say the Senators still have a good shot at it this year. I was doubtful at the start of this season when they were struggling, but now they've overcome that period and are playing well and finding different ways to win games. I doubt they'll catch Buffalo, but they've beaten them several times (revenge from last year's playoff matchup?) Who knows what may happen this time.
  18. A Toshiba 902T....actually it's kinda old, but it can take decent pictures, can accommodate an SD card, Bluetooth, etc.

    I'm Back!

Hello, fellow members!I joined Trap 17 back in 2005 and even had a website hosted on here, too. Later on that same year, I left and moved on to other hosts, but now decided to have another go at the Trap. Great to see the guys have always kept the same excellent quality of service and community since I first joined.Anyway, looks like I've got some hosting credits to build up. For those of you who crossed paths with me on this forum - great to see you again. For those who are meeting me for the first time, nice to meet you!Love the new forum layout, by the way.Cheers, and I'll see ya on the boards!-shigajet
  20. Thanks for the link, but I wonder if the next version of Widgets may have that feature?
  21. Sounds like you fit in perfectly!Welcome aboard, Fermy and we hope you can enjoy your stay here. There's plent of topics abound (and the list seems to be expanding), so if you want to share you ideas, go ahead and post as much as you like.See you on the boards!
  22. I also assume that no affiliate links are allowed either. Anyway, sigs are okay as it's kind of a showcase as to what you can do in the realm of computer graphics.
  23. True...every free hosting service has their own system on how members can stay active in the community, but not everyone can keep up the posting to build up 500 credits in a short span of time.
  24. I think I'm more of a mix between Gluttony (try new things but move on once I get bored of it), Sloth (I do tend to be lazy from time to time) and Envy (depending on who I know, but I'm sometimes envious of other peoples' success).
  25. Another day...another web scam. I think somebody should close the topic (and block the poster). If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.
