  1. Try to access your website using your site's URL instead of its IP address. My site is not down: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  2. Yay. Problem solved -> thread closed.psychic, please do not quintuple post next time. Instead, report your own post and we moderators and admins will edit it for you. Thanks you.
  3. Haha my bad. Misleading modifiers are pretty funny when interpreted the wrong way. Yeah. That happens a lot at this forum when newbies and hosting credit-deficient people try to gain credits by copying some article from the internet. Fortunately, those people are denied hosting or end up losing their account if they already have one. It all comes back on you if you try to steal other people's work. Umm, no. You would have to go through a bunch of processes ad fill out loads of forms and such. It's all a headache for one layout. Putting a copyright symbol © doesn't work either. It's not really copyrighted until you have documented proof from the government. 1. Good idea, but people can just adapt to your layout, right?2. Watermarking is always a good idea because people can just go to the URL displayed on the watermark. You can even use PHP so that all your pictures are watermarked on-the-fly, so you don't have to spend time in graphics softwares. 3. Kinda useless because HTML code is shown anyways. What I mean is that if you use headers and footers, their HTML codes are always rendered after the server takes care of them. Look at my site: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. I use headers and footers, but if you look at the source code, you'll see the complete source code. See what I mean? Edit: Fixed my spelling error: defient -> deficient
  4. enemista is correct on both issues. Referral links are against Xisto rules: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/5769-terms-of-service-and-acceptable-use-policy/ Second, don't you remember the old addage "If it's too good to be true, then it is"? Think about it, if 10 people sign up for Free Money, then after a month, that company is in the hole 800,000 dollars. Nearly a million bucks. That company cannot and will not survive. I have one question for you though, have you ever gotten 20,000 dollars from Free Money (your first link)?
  5. Hmm, how long has the beta version of the reputation mod been out? When was the release of their beta version? I just wanna know if their beta version is similar to Google's - forever and a day. By the way, betas are suppose to s.uck. Betas are, in my opinion, releases of a program/application/mail service that are out because the programmer is so excited about his project, and he wants the public to see his creation despite the numerous bugs.
  6. Really?? I thought this mail tutorial thing is the first on Xisto. Can you give me 2 or 3 mail scripts that people have submitted in the past?
  7. Why would you install it yourself? All you need to do is go into Fantastico, and click the install button...unless you wanted the newest version or something, but isn't there an update script that you can download to update to the newest version? Nothing is hacker proof. Even big name websites, and government websites have been hacked. By the way, may I ask how the security update works? You're going to need to make bigger posts than that if you want an account here.
  8. Hey Kelly. What's up?I see you're from Las Vegas. I wanted to go there myself when I lived in California, but I didn't.You like designing layouts, uh? Do you have a website online? I just wanna see your work, and what you're capable of doing.Anyways, welcome to Xisto. Enjoy your stay!
  9. May I ask what this jona character did?
  10. Not sure, but there are several easter eggs. For example, if you type in "the answer to life, the universe, and everything", you'll get 42. This is only funny if you have read "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy."
  11. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/= That's phyre's link. That's is pretty weird....Maybe there's a bug in the Alexa site stats? Who knows. Let's see how long this holds up....
  12. Eek, you're right.... Hmm, well, the post is a pretty good read, and it pretty much summarizes what the tests results were. Basically, Kaspersky Antivirus Personal Pro and Outpost Firewall Pro are the best antivirus and firewall programs because Kaspersky has a detection rate of 99% and Outpost was the firewall that performed the best in the leak tests.
  13. Dude, your new design/layout is 10 times better than your old one! It's simple and professional-looking. So much better than what I was doing a year ago. Nice. What I don't like is that you used tables. This is bad because if you ever have a large page, then it will take forever to load, and you could drive some of your visitors away because tables aren't rendered until all of it is read by the browser. I give your new one a 8.5/10 because you made it yourself, you're young, and it's nice and simple. My three factors when rating websites. About your download.php question. You would have to know PHP first. In your index.php file, you have to have a statement that will get the variable $act. Then, you have to have if...then statements that will select what to do with the variable. For example, if $act is equal to "downloads", then redirect to download.php. Very simple script. The only thing I don't like about this is that your potential pagerank might not be as high because search engines tend to turn away from URLs with question marks and ampersands in them.
  14. First, go here: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Then, type in the URL of your website. Follow their format or else it won't work. Next, click the Build This button for which ever button you want. You have about 3 choices. Finally, right-click on the image generated, and paste it here! Here's mine: Pretty good for me because last week, it was around 34,000.
  15. Same here. I prefer headphones when I'm around people so they can't listen to what's I'm listening to. When I'm by myself, however, I just let the speakers blare as loudly as possible.
  16. Yep. Here is the Alexa proof: You can also go here if the image doesn't show: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/=
  17. Haha, nice images. Google should really use some of their logos to spice up their front page once in a while.
  18. 1. Firefox - The best and most secure browser out there. Not to mention it's open source and free.2. Photoshop CS - I see what this thing is capable of doing, so I decided to jump in the bandwagon. Best graphics software out there. Not free, but definately worth the money if you know how to use it.3. Microsoft Notepad - Simplicity is the key. Whenever I want to edit one of my webpages, I just right-click, and select Edit. Simple. Also, it doesn't take up much memory at all, so you can have about 30 instances of Notepad open without slowing down your computer. Did I mention it's free?
  19. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Follow the links in that post to see how each firewalls and antivirus programs performed. They tested things such as detection rate for antivirus programs, memory usage for firewalls and antivirus applications, and leak tests for firewalls. There are several nice charts and graphs for those visual learners out there.
  20. True dat. Zonealarm is for newbies on the internet, so naturally, it's really not that good. If you wanna know which antivirus programs are the best (detection rate and how much memory they use), then I recommend you look at this post: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Follow the links in that post also, so you can see how each popular antivirus programs performed. The results will be quite surprising to some.
  21. Dude, you don't need any affiliation software - just make your own. It's really easy, and I'll show you how with a little PHP. 1. First, make a file called af.php (short for affiliates). 2. In af.php, type in the HTML code that will include your affiliate's URLs: af.php: <a href="http://site1.com"><img src="site1.gif" alt="site1"></a><a href="http://site2.com"><img src="site2.gif" alt="site2"></a>... Just keep adding to af.php once you get new affiliates. 3. To actually make this show in your pages, include the following code where ever you want your affiliates' buttons/URLs to show:<?php include(/home/yourcpanelloginname/www/af.php) ?>Change yourcpanelloginname to your cPanel login name. 4. Finally, upload af.php to the root of your directory - inside public_html and not any folder deeper than that. That's it! If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. Good luck!
  22. Okay, Alexa is going to crawl my site within a couple of days, so my site will be on archive.org? That all seemed too easy....
  23. Woohoo! It works now! I don't have to copy and paste their email address anymore! Thanks man. Hey, no problem. Let me know if you used it on my site. I'm curios to see if/what changes you made to it.
  24. Yay. Problem solved -> thread closed By the way, you can also get a form mail by following my awesome tutorial: http://forums.xisto.com/index.php?shoc=20516&hl=mail
