Don't get tempted - go with Package 2. Back when I applied, there were 4 hosting packages, and 3 of which were available to new members. The highest available one required 50 hosting credits, and it had 100 MB of space and something bandwidth (I forgot the bandwidth amount). Anyway, I posted until I got 50 hosting credits because I did not want to apply 2 more times: 1 for package 2 and the other for package 2.If you want more space and bandwidth, I'd say hold it out until you have 30. Posting is not hard at all. I now have over 520 days of hosting.

You sure like the copy and paste functions in Windows, huh? Why are you trying to override school firewalls? Are you trying to play games while working? My school firewall/proxy works this way (and your school's firewall might, too): it searches for words in URLs then it blocks it. For example, if the URL contains words such as "games", "mp3", "free", or "downloads", then it blocks it, so the URL http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ is blocked. There are several ways that I do to get pass this. First, if you have access to the command prompt, open it. Then, type in this command: "ping [domain]" (without quotes). Replace [domain] with the domain of a site such as google.com. Yeah, I used to do that. Now, when I want something, I just go with my site because it has over 200 flash games, and I add 20 more each week every Friday. But when I used to do it, I'd usually find a topsite and work from there. Most of the sites in the topsite suck though because of excessive ads, but overall, topsites are pretty much the way to go if you want to waste an entire afternoon. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

I think it's your internet connection. I'm using 56K, and all the images loaded within a minute. No image corruption or anything.

Layout 1: What I like: I like its overall simplicity. The navigation is simple, and the news system is simple. However, it's a webdesign company, so shouldn't it be more graphics-oriented? What I don't like: You used tables. If you ever have a really big page, it would take forever to load. Use CSS for tables instead. And if you don't know how to do this, there are a bunch of tutorials out there that will show you. ----------- Layout 2: What I like: The banner. At first, it looked like Flash, but I realized that it's not, and that's what's cool about it. Your visitors don't need flash to view it. I also like the simple/standard navigation on the left, so your visitors can easily find the page that they're looking for. What I don't like: You used a frame. Instead of using frames, use PHP includes. It's similar to frames because if you edit the include file, then all the pages that use the include will change. Also, you'll get a higher search engine ranking if you steer away from frames. ----------- Layout 3: What I like: Sweet navigation buttons. What I don't like: Lack of colors and graphics. If it's a portofolio site, then you should really spice it up. Show off your skills. Don't go with the standard black-on-white design. Also, kill the tables and iframe. CSS is the way to go. ------------ Layout 4: What I like: The background. Nice little scanline action you have going on. I also like its simplicity. Also, you did not choose tables or frames on this one. Good choice. What I don't like: The background. It makes your navigation on the side hard to read. It also makes the copyright text at the bottom look weird. I also don't like the content/news area. Perhaps you could make its background match the rest of the site.... I like filters. It's easier to do because all you do is select the right amount, and it's done for you. With brushes, if you drag a certain length too much, it can screw with your whole picture.

I'm a PHP newbie myself. Just about everything in my website, except for my blog and shoutbox, I made myself. Anyway, bandwidth is the amount of data transferred, so the amount of bandwidth that will be used for said page will depend on the size of the rendered page. If the page outputted is huge, then you will use a lot of bandwidth for that page. If not, then not a lot of bandwidth will be used. So if you have a 10 MB page due to variables and poor coding technique , but it only outputs a couple of lines, then not a lot of bandwidth is used. Why is it black and white with a hint of red? That looks very very basic, and I don't think anyone will click on it. Right now, it looks like you pasted a bunch of stuff onto a canvas and called it a banner. If you could make it a little bit more colorful, I think it could look decent. Also, that font that you used for Xisto.com looks random. It would go great, however, in a gangster sig, but not on a banner. Stick to normal fonts that one can easily read. If you're going to put "Paid Hosting", I think you have to say how much the paid hosting is, and I would put it in this case because the paid hosting is really cheap. Speaking of paid hosting, Xisto does not offer paid hosting.
