I Have 10 Credits... but its not working...
snlildude87 replied to theconman's topic in Web Hosting Support
An email was sent to you on how to activate your account. If you don't want to read it, then go to https://support.xisto.com/ to create an account. Then, you can log in to your account by going into your cpanel at http://nitrousoxide.com/cpanel to log in. Everything is explained in the email (bigcfk24@yahoo.com) that is sent to you. Please read it. -
I don't think that's got anything to do with it as what is sent to the browser is HTML/XHTML, not ASP. But to follow your logic for a bit, if you're testing ASP pages in IE and there's something wrong, you'll often get a 500 Internal Server Error with no further explanation of the error. View the same page in Firefox and it'll point to the line in your code that is causing problems. Certainly doesn't sound like Firefox not handling ASP as well as IE. 153430[/snapback] For my defense, I wanna say that it's been a long time since I've heard the explanation, but I saw a segment on an old episode of The Screensavers where Patrick Norton explained it. If you try to download updates from Microsoft with a browser, it will often work better if you use Internext Explorer than it will in Firefox. Coincidentally, the extension name of the update pages is .aspx. By the way, my name is snlildude87, not sunster13. I do agree, though, that Fast Reply is so much quicker than normal reply. Edit: Fixed my BBCode.

There are two reasons why some websites don't show up correctly on Firefox. The first is that the website is coded in ASP (Active Server Pages). ASP belongs to Windows, so naturally, it will only show up as intended on Internet Explorer. This is NOT Firefox's fault. It's completely Microsoft's. The second reason is poor coding technique. People nowadays use frames and tables for layouts or they use an application such as Dreamweaver to design their site. Some programs generate poor HTML code, so they will show up correctly on one browser but not on another browser. I would recommend coding your site from scratch and reading up on W3C standards if you want your site to work on all browsers. You might also want to check that web page against w3c standards: http://validator.w3.org/ Sort of, but it's not Firefox's fault. Google "firefox and ASP" to read more on this issue. The other issue, as I mentioned above, is the coding technique. Exactly. Why do you hate using Firefox? It's more secure; it's sleaker; it's faster; and web pages will show up as intended. Do you mind showing us all your code so we can analyze it for you? I'm sure somebody here will be able to point out your error.

Would we be the best free webhosting on the internet if we don't allow gaming sites? I don't think so. Every single site genre is allowed on our free hosting plans except for warez (they are generally illegal all-around) and pornography. If you want to put naughty pictures on your site, consider cheap webhosting, a company from the creator of Xisto. In short, gaming sites are allowed here at Xisto.

Do You Use Neopets? Free Games, Forums, Fun for Everyone :)
snlildude87 replied to concertina226's topic in Computer Gaming
YES! That means I actually have a chance of getting someone. w00t. But seriously, the majority of Neopets is girls from ages 9 - 15. At least, that's what I heard from some news source. Like I said, I might play again if I can get my stupid password to work. And the people at Neopets can't help me either because they don't think I'm the owner of snlildude87. haha, yeah. They never die. Even if their hunger indication is "dying." -
Haha, I haven't used that sentence in years. I definately have to resurrect it in my vocabulary. What company?? And is it forever or only for x amount of times?

*is mesmerized*Dude, that's awesome. Much more compact than your last one where there was a guy with an axe coming out of your sig. Very nice.I personally like the blue one because it's more colorful, but both are equally good. Kudos.By the way, is that you in the pic? Someone, I don't think it is because I don't know anyone with hair as spiky as the hair that the dude has in the sig.

Do You Use Neopets? Free Games, Forums, Fun for Everyone :)
snlildude87 replied to concertina226's topic in Computer Gaming
I'll admit it. I, a 17 year old guy, used to play neopets until I found out that it was filled with young girls, so I quit. Also, I have a slow connection, so there was no way for me to get rich by buying potions (from that cow's shop) and by buying dark chocolates. Just no way at all, so I just quit. :-/ Also, I can't get into my account. I send my password to my email address, but it just won't work. Oh well.My username is snlildude87 if you wanna check it out.One of the best things I loved about it is that I am a millionaire. Everybody looks up to you when you're rich. It's awesome. If I can ever get my password to work, I might consider playing again. -
Great Site Ranking In Google The Secrets Out
snlildude87 replied to serverph's topic in Search Engines
Thanks for the link, serverph! My PageRank in Google really sucks (it's at 0), and I need to know how to improve that as soon as possible.I'll read that later. Thanks!! -
Johnny, how many fonts do you have?? I see you use a different font for each sig each time. It's crazy. Where do you go for tutorials? Good Tutorials and pixel2life? Too bad I can't look at all tutorials...espcially not those that use extensive images to document their every move. Takes forever to load on 56K.

Get Rid Of Trojan Horse Think I got one..
snlildude87 replied to Nani Cheri's topic in Security issues & Exploits
Well, BitDefender kinda sucks, too. Kevin Rose did a round of of brand name firewalls way back when he used to work for TechTV, and it showed that BitDefender was the worst out of the programs that he tested. I agree, Norton is a waste of space, but many people are stuck with it because it comes with so many new computers nowaday. Actually, Mcafee kinda stinks, too. I looked at several tests of antivirus programs, and it showed the Mcafee had a low detection rate, and it is a bloated software. -
Actually, there is a Javascript that does just that. It scrambles the HTML code so that when someone clicks to view the source, it looks all messed up. It's pretty neat; there are workaround, but normal people cannot work around it to view the source. Search on Google if you wanna know what it is. I forgot its name.

Where Are My Points ? All my credit points have disappeared

Get Rid Of Trojan Horse Think I got one..
snlildude87 replied to Nani Cheri's topic in Security issues & Exploits
The reason why you can't delete it is that it's still running. What you need to do is find what executable file the virus or trojan is, kill its process, then run Norton and wipe it off. It's best of if kill its process then scan with Norton in quick successions because viruses or trojan horses have a reputation of quickly restarting themselves after you close them. And take a screenshot of what Norton is saying so we can analyze it for you. -
Thanks for the tutorial! Some people here at Xisto mentioned that you can extract zip files for faster uploads, but I couldn't figure out how to go about doing that. Now I know that you have to upload the .zip file first (on my old host, the .zip file was extracted during the upload process). Thanks again!

Yahoo Publisher Advertising Network Google Adsense Alternative
snlildude87 replied to greendilim's topic in Business Forum
Were you over 18? You have to be at least 18 to use Google AdSense. It's part of their Terms of Service, and they can shut you down if you're not 18. -
Yes. I gave out several gmail invites, and they were back the very next day, so basically, you have infinite gmail invites. Apparently, you haven't been to isnoop. Gmail forced it to close down.

You said free, so the best firewall out of those three options is Kerio. Now, the best firewall out of the options you gave me, regardless of price, is Outpost. There were several tests that various websites have done that proved that Outpost was the best because it passed most of the leak tests, but the web pages now generate 404 errors. Kerio = good = free Outpost = best = not free

Help! What Do I Do After This? no link or anything to click on
snlildude87 replied to zijun's topic in Web Hosting Support
Exactly what Klass said. You did not have any hosting credits, you did not apply for a form, and therefore, you did not get approved by an admin to create an account at https://support.xisto.com/. The only way to get an account is to get enough hosting credits, then go to https://support.xisto.com/ to create an account. If everybody did what you just did, then there would be no need to fill out an application, now would there? -

All righty then. Your site worked for two people (me and darkmeca), so it was only a temporary problem. Thread closed.
