Which Text Editor To Choose? text editor choice for programmers..
mahesh2k replied to mahesh2k's topic in Programming
Notepad2 looks good, it is lightweight and works well with the files. I have found links to programmer's notepad software on notepad2 site. It is available here. It is good and worth to try. Support for multiple source files is also there. Other than that i downloaded pspad, which is for windows only.It makes use on synedit plugin. And it supports many source files. You can take a look at pspad here. It is freeware text editor and many plugins are available for it. It also has FTP client in it. So i'm checking these two as of now. I'll update thread as i try many others. -
Liberty reserve merchants are increasing these days. Many hosting companies and shopping sites are accepting liberty reserve as payment methods other than paypal. If you want exchanger for the paypal and liberty reserve then you can try searching google, there are plenty of exchangers are out there. Many PTC/GPT sites are choosing liberty reserve because of their low rate commission. Moneybookers is good as well as it is used by people in country where paypal is banned or not accepted.

First thing they did is they brought lots of traffic to the website(for this they used word-of-mouth publicity or forum publicity). Then they gave incentive (like mycent and freehosting) to members. So loyal members are giving something in return by posting quality content. There is lot of garbage these days on Xisto, so you can expect it is slowing down on search engine soon. Some people on tp17 are literally copying each others reply. Some are simply increasing length of post without any valid point just to earn mycents. Some are posting from wikipedia and some are simply refusing to agree that they did plagiarism. This ways standard of posting is going down and will hurt SEO aspect. Xisto was famous cause of it's quality content and free hosting. But now as quality of post is decreasing it will hurt rankings in turn revenue as well. So members need to make quality contribution. This is my way of explaining importance of "quality content" for website. As it earns more traffic than anything. In short if we look what makes Xisto and asta on google at better ranking is : Quality content, number of backlink from member sites, reviews and link from high PR website. These are some of the sure ways of having better traffic and rankings. Besides these giving free hosting without any catch (other than post2host) is what made them more popular than anything.

Sure. If you want to earn other than ads then you've to do real hard work. I mean you need to struggle literally to make money. Other than maintaining blog and site. Let me break it one by one as i posted list in my earlier post. 1) Donations - We're helping internet by posting good tutorial or content. So if we're not earning from ads then we need to get something to keep site alive (hosting fees etc). So ask for donations, don't hesitate. You're doing a good job of posting quality content then you've right to ask for donations. Some generous readers do give donations. Don't feel uncomfortable for asking for donations. 2) Consulting - Let's assume you're programmer and you're posting good tutorial on your blog. So there are chances that people are interested in your service like website design, software development etc. You can add it in portfolio that you accept paid consulting. This is one of the good ways to earn more money from site. Bloggers like chris garret and darren rowse and many other blogger and programmer are doing this. 3) Paid job-- You can market your current site on elance or other freelance network and get jobs based on the profile you created. Your site will serve as live example with your resume. Many people prefer website of developers and writers when working with them. 4) Paid calls- If you're good at support or telecalling then you can use skype or other IM to call clients and earn per hour consulting fee for your work. Bloggers like yaro stark is good example who is earning thousands from such programs. 5) Website as portfolio --When you post your resume in dice or monster. Do include your website as portfolio. This will bring more jobs and clients offer to you. 6) Mailing list-- if you're having blog or forum then you can open mailing list with aweber and add users to it. You can then do affiliate marketing in list or even post good posts+sales can be option. 7) Affiliate program-- You can join good forums and promote your affiliate programs from clickbank and paydot com on forum. No need to add affiliate link. You can get individual people from PM by making them interested in your program. 8) Promotion-- You can learn social media skills in month or two and can do job of promoting websites, themes, templates or services and can earn commission. This is different than affiliate marketing. As you're doing it without linkback to sales sites. You're doing this with direct connection with company. There are many other ways that i can add on to this. But i think this is sufficient. Let me know if any suits you else you can ask for other ways i'll see what i can suggest you.

Making Money From Games NOTE: This is for Flash Developers Only
mahesh2k replied to Raidation's topic in Business Forum
Mochiads take much revenue from developers. I think there should be a decent model for this. Kizash was paying pay per view for flash games. That is also acceptable. There are other sites which pay for pay per view. May not be the perfect option for all. But for those who are in it for money will choose mochiads. -

If so then it worth 4 hours wait.

I used beta version. But my experience is limited as i'm using it on virtual machine. So system related performance can't be compared in my case. By the way,Homepage of ubuntu is also improved. In between, anyone on Xisto is on launchpad.net ?]On point of windows vs ubuntu, i think ubuntu will have one more stable update on april. So it have edge to improve again. On windows side, they have to wait for another service pack which i'm sure will be released in march or may. Anyway, how many people on Xisto order CD from shipit ?

Which Text Editor To Choose? text editor choice for programmers..
mahesh2k replied to mahesh2k's topic in Programming
I used eclipse and codeblocks. But for texteditors they're too heavy. I like features of eclipse. But i'm in search of low-resource text-editor. I use kate on linux but whenever it comes to windows based work and no option of linux arround. Then it's of no use. I'm in search of cross-platform still low-resource taking text editor. Any suggestion ? -
Good topic for discussion. I'm more concerned about population and available resources. Soon we'll run out of those resources. I don't think all the precious resources are used in IT materials. And it is completely wasted. There is recycling of many IT products. Apple, dell and many other manufacturers use recyclable resources. Even hosting companies are gree these days. Green in means that they're using natural ways of generating electricity. Google also generates it's own power and using it for their benefits. There are plenty of places where there is resources wasted and return is none. For example, F1 races. Where we're getting some returns ? and in what way ? F1 is 100% wastage of fuel. Why not find such wastage first before blaming IT domain for wastage of resources.

If you want this information that which visitor used which os while visiting your page. Then such information can be retrieved from software like mint, awstats, webalizer, google analytics, slimstats. There are many other stats scripts that you can use for more power. But i found that GA,Awstats works well with me. You don't need java to install and use it. It's simple and if you're hosted on Xisto. You've it installed already. Just open the awstats option from cpanel.

Not strange. Windows 7 was released this month so it will take time for developers to come up with support for their current version to support VMware. Still there was experimental support for RC versions. But it didn't worked right ? So, that explains their point of experimental support.

Yes, they're targeted at beginners. I have completed some basic parts of working with python idle, book suggestion and syntax etc. I'm going to write more on loops, function, tulips, dictionary as well. But i need some time to do that. For complete newbie i have one tutorial up. I can post if anyone is interested. or if anyone want to see the tutorial on tulips, dictionary and other python related things. Then i can say you'll soon see some tutorials from me. I'll post the links for them soon.

Demonfire is not active. or is he ? and this thread was not bumped by you but by member prchakal. So don't take unwanted warning from mod when you done nothing . Anyway you're right at one point if thread starter is not active then thread should be closed. As there is hardly useful discussion going on.

I can see that here. From that page it is clear. Anyway, i'll not carry on with this. My only point was to show you un-necessary sarcasm at wrong discussion is not good and especially that too for earning mycents. Thanks for correction, earlier one was offensive if you can see what you've typed.

Are you spamming here or what ? or is it sarcasm added with your spam-post ? Who told you i used those toolbars on my blog. I'm asking here opinion of others on how they feel about this social toolbar. Personally i got annoyed with it like others. What made you think that i used this social toolbar ? Why are you posting something which you've no idea at first place. Do you read topic before you post ? How can you accuse someone who never did anything like that at first place ?

I know one with DOS command. Another i know is by with softwares like file and folder protector. And many similar softwares which allows folder security. Some take advantage of login system. And display only the folder to particular user. Though instead of using such softwares command line trick is always useful and handy too. I'm looking for such tricks on linux. But linux is more handy with user group management. users can't delete or modify roots folder. So hiding it is not possible at first place. That's one good thing about linux.

RC Versions are buggy. And in case of windows final release is also buggy that is patched by their update site later with lots of service packs. But here VMware fusion that you're using is new software that VMware launched for mac platform. I expect bugs in this stage as software for this platform is not matured yet. Besides for windows platform vmware is above version 6 so i can say it is mature. Besides both VMWare and Paralles who are creating virtual machine software for macintosh mentioned that support for Windows 7 RC is under beta. They're yet to support it completely. (For more information you can check paralles's homepage where experimental support for win7 is mentioned, same is the case with VMware). You can expect next update of these two software support WIN7 -ultimate and other versions without any glitches. By the way, if you've heard of Apple bootcamp. You can use that to install windows 7 as dualboot. RC release is not good to use for bootcamp though,IMO.

Not exactly, ubunutu is stable version of debian. Most of the ubuntu team members are also part of debian community. Unstable debian version is patched and results are committed back to debian tree by ubuntu. Check debian's role for ubuntu. Ubuntu being derivative of debian is much stable and release cycle's are of 6month. You can read more about discussion on ubuntu's stable version cycle in comparison to debian here. Chrome OS is not officially launched. There are some developer beta leaked and screenshots are shown on lifehacker blog. There is announcement about ChromeOS being shipped with netbooks. But no official announcement and download site is up yet.

You've to check standard edition. Or educational/organizational free usage. Business usage is paid. Check standard edition here. If you've purchased domain from Xisto - Support.com/billing then there is one link for setting up google apps for your domain. If you unable to find that you can do one thing. Sign up with google standard edition then they'll give you html file to upload on your server. Upload that file on your /public_html and ask it to verify. After minute it will verify and will let you use the email address with your domain without need for MX records. If MX records are needed then you've to add them in "MX configuration" page in cpanel.

Mycents can't be transferred from one account to another. Also please avoid posting message per line style. This type of SMS texting is not allowed and yo'll receive warning from mods about manipulating posts to earn mycent. Do reply to your own threads to notify others. Also "it's urgent" trick works no longer. Why it is used ? I know many members from india have habit of using it. Can you give me the reason why it is used ?

@BCD, i didn't find greasemonkey solution to hide this toolbar. If there is i'll post about it here soon. Why i say it is usability issue is because if you're using laptop try scrolling. Also old microsoft USB mouse with wheels are even slower for such toolbars. It may be avoidable but i did't find it. It annoys me more than it helps. @rvalkass, yes very few blogs are using it. They are doing it in the hope that they'll have good social media traffic by allowing users to use this toolbar. I doubt many people will even consider to use it. pure readers will use it. If i'm blogger then i'll definitely not waste my time moving around this toolbar. For newbie and intermediate readers of such blogs will use it and at what extent i have no idea. I found sharethis widget doing same job if user want to use it to promote or bookmark article on blog. This toolbar maybe useful and fancy for some but i find sharethis more beneficial and almost-not-annoying at all.
