I think ubuntu and some of the other distros started to force user to be in less privileges section. They don't allow user to be in root, and when it comes to install software or some action that requires root privilleges then it asks root password. If script kiddies are executed under root login then it is equally unsecure as windows.

I think issue is with battery and battery management. Either one of them is not working well right now. You need to go to the vendor where you purchased your laptop battery and ask them if it works or not and let them replace it. If the problem is not with battery then you should look at the OS, sometimes battery management is messed up (I know seen few vista users having trouble with it). So to solve the issue best thing right now is to take the laptop and battery to the vendor.

Not exactly virus free, some script kiddies does exist for linux. And there are some antivirus products exist as well. So it's not like it is free from virus it's just that it is more resistant to virus. And yes it is free and most of the security patches are instantly available.

Protection of norton is superior ? beats me. It slows down the performance of computer in the name of security and stealth mode. They just make system unusable for user then what's the point for virus getting into it. No, i mean that if you're hosted else where then you need to give nameserver details of that host. You done that ? All of us get ftp in same case. ftp.yourdomain.com way. If you want to get rid of old domain then cancel it and buy new one. Backup about your data from public_html if you've deleted the folders. you can get them back if your host allows free backups. ask them and they'll get your folder order and deleted folders back.

I agree. They are making products to a system which has lot of security flaws than any other operating system. That company itself is producing many viruses and posting definitions for it to disinfect. In such scenario if they publish such reports then definitely it is suspicious. In case you guys noticed it or not but either my posts are not increasing or there is somthing wrong with post counter. I made posts which goes my post count above 1003 but it is showing me 1002 everytime. Now that i'm posting this reply here i'm supposed to get 1003 total count. Yeah, from yesterday i guess the problem is there for mycent updates. I have posted content which costs more than 2$ and i'm not credited for that. Not fair . Anyway, i trust opaque for this, i'll wait till they update the servers. I use pidgin on linux system (ubuntu) but on windows nimbuzz is helping me to connect to networks which are not covered under pidgin.Maybe soon they'll add support to those networks. But till then i have to use nimbuzz on windows machine.

Though MAMP is removed i think services are registered and still not removed from the OS X. And as they're running you've to first stop them then you've to remove them from the services running list. This way you'll not get that message and you'll able to reinstall the MAMP again. Let's Hope this method works under OSX as it works with windows.

You used add-on domain feature right ? If so, you can delete the add-on domain first then delete the files created under the add-on domains. Simple and change the nameservers from Xisto - Support billing site that solve the issue. For this you can ask Xisto - Support about this, and ask them from where you're supposed to use control panel for domains you purchased then they'll redirect you to that. I think if you've purchased domain from them then chances are that they sent you Xisto - Domains account username password in the mail. You can ask about this to Xisto - Support people. Verification with file is much easier and faster you can say less hassles. First things first is that you can contact Xisto - Support about Xisto - Domains and your deleted folder. Maybe you can get backup from them. Second about domain name removal from cpanel we gave you step already. Third about ftp folder you need to ask Xisto - Support if they can give back up of old date. Fourth thing is about cname,if you've used verification file then no need for cname.

If you used language like python, java, ruby & php etc before C++ then c/c++ looks more annoying. And sometimes it feels more irritating like why we're using this at first place. You can delete subdomain any time you want from your cpanel. All you need to do is go to cpanel and find the subdomains icon/link. The cname and MX records we're playing with have nothing to do with google verification for search engines. If you want google to keep track of your site then you must create sitemap of your site and post it on Google webmasters account of yours. That way google search engine will index your site regularly based on content generated on your site. No need to create new hosting account. As in case you're not going with steps so this doesn't change a thing with new account as well. What i have seen from your threads is that and i want to suggest you that. You should create site first then atleast have 5-10 articles on blog then post your url at google so it can start indexing. Then you can proceed with google webmaster account as well for posting of sitemap. For google apps you can do this step anytime as you need just domain name and cpanel access. I don't have mac right now. Otherwise i could have guided you with procedure. But isn't it possible for you to stop un-necessary processes in OSX ? I mean before using any other local webserver software you need to stop MAMP first. If it is stopped properly then you'll be able to run another web server. This is because two instances of mysql will not run so you've to remove first then you'll be able to run another.Losing data(folder) is strange and you should check with the official MAMP list or forums about this bug. They'll solve this issue. And about problem of losing data. You should copy the folder to some another place after completing your work with MAMP. You can do so to avoid backup and you'll have multiple versions of your themes if that's what is important to you in installation.

Not exactly, i want you to tell me which version gave you fast install like that. You can find out about your version of ubuntu by simply using "cat /etc/issue" this command in terminal. This will give you version of ubuntu installed on your system.
