  1. Nothing can match Kefka's awesome laugh Advent Children is taking soo long... I can't wait either though. The Vincent game... that's going to be a PS2 game right? I gathered at least not till next year sometime.
  2. It's pretty good Johnny. Nice change from the original render - much darker/scarier now, in my opinion. He blends in quite well, and the text is alright (though it could be a bit more readable). Just feels a little pixellated round the top parts of the background..
  3. I say Johnny as well... Saint Michael's is quite well brushed - if judged on backgrounds alone I'd vote for his. However, his render is too small (though well blended), and the text is just not good.Overall, because of that, I believe Johnny's looks better.
  4. I actually like the brushing on rejected's better, though it's perhaps not strictly grunge. I think the render fits well too, though because of the colour of the render itself, when blended with a similar background, it tends to be a tad too monotone. The font is way too pixellated in rejected's though.Kremit's is not bad either, but the text, whilst not pixellated, doesn't match the sig well, and is probably a bit too small. I don't like the red bits on the render though - they stick out and look weird, and probably detract from the "blending".
  5. Not always, but this batch particuarly.
  6. In general, I feel your text is letting you down Johnny. Maybe try some more complex text tutorials on Good-Tutorials or something?1 - Don't really like the brushing, but colours are good. Font is pretty good too, but I don't think it should be transperant.2 - Render and font look a bit out of place. Not particuarly liking this one... sorry.3 - Better than 2, the render fits, blends in better, and matches colour wise. Once again, the font ain't so great, perhaps a tech/San Serif font is better.4 - Brushing is nice on this one, though perhaps not the best colour for the render. I feel the text is too small and too transperant for the sig though.5 - It feels too dark, with black and red, with a grey stripe. I think it needs brightening to match the happy cartoon Pucca render. Somehow it's just not working so well as a "simple" style sig.6 - If you could blend the render in a bit better, this Chobits one would be quite nice. Maybe just make the font more outstanding too.7 - Not too complex, and quite unique looking. I like it, cept for the brown colour in the background.8 - Brushing looks a bit rough, but it probably wouldn't matter if the font/text didn't highlight it so much. It really needs to have a more independant effect (ie, text colour not determined by background). 9 - Not bad, but feels a little empty up the top left.10 - Nice abstract brushing, good tech feel. I would just say make the text more dominant to fill up more space
  7. Wow nice Johnny. CCS is awesome... I'll be using this one sometime
  8. Yeah that would be nice, especially now the Photoshop forum is building up
  9. It's quite good BuffaloHelp. The items are nicely placed, and nothing seems overly imposing. I was just wondering what that streak next to the girl was? - like a sky streak or something? To be nitpicky, the left side is a bit heavier, with the render, and the text really should be in the centre.
  10. Yeah DBZ is an anime... real popular one in Japan & US/Worldwide.I'm a big anime fan, my friends got me into it last year. I guess what I like is the exaggerated humour, the morals of some of the shows, and well yeah - fanservice is always good :PMy favourites though: Full Metal Alchemist, Naruto, Gundam SEED (Destiny), AIR TV...Everything else I've seen/watching: DBZ (everyone has ), Vandread (1st and 2nd Stage), Evangelion, Melody of Oblivion, Bleach, Buzzer Beater, Jinki: Extend, Cooking Master Boy, Ichigo 100%, Mahou Sensei Negima, Love Hina and Tsubasa Chronicle...
  11. You don't anti-alias pixel fonts do you? I always though you weren't meant to as it smoothens edges - but pixel fonts are too small to do it effectively. I wouldn't recommend a pixel font for this sig anyway. Something bigger/bolder would be nice Try some more blending Saint Michael, it's just a brushed background with some renders. The one on the right is not too bad, but the left one looks out of place and is of bad quality.
  12. Johnny pretty much nailed it. I would even suggest a little more brushing over more of the render - blend it even more than what you have now.. Oh, and while you're changing the text, try some funky effects on it - in this sig the text can be outstanding without being too dominant over the render. But yeah, it's pretty good Saint Michael
  13. Dreamcast ey Johnny? Probably becoming more of a collectors item now right? :D1 - The brushing is alright, but it somehow doesn't work so great with the render - kind of like you *forced* it (the blending). Really don't like the text. It's way too transperant, and even if you wanted the see-through look, I think a different font would have been better. Techy perhaps to match with Megaman? Just something San Serif I guess...Oh and I don't think the dotted lines are that great either, I think a different line might work better - and it probably should be thinner (ie gaps between the parallel lines)2 - Not bad. It's not really outstanding like some of your other sigs - ie it doesn't have that unique quality. Nevertheless, the brushing is tight. Text is alright too, but the J is too similar to the background colour for my tastes. 3 - Sorry Johnny, don't really like this one at all. The font doesn't fit the background (and you also made it semi-transperant). I don't believe the render fits in quite well enough - it probably needs to be bigger to cover more area. The grunge brushing in itself isn't so bad, rather the choice of render, font, and placement of text/pic, which lets it down.4 - Bit monotone... the brushing lacks depth because of this, I guess. Since Vivi is looking to the sky, I think something more "inspirational", rather than attempted gothic look would be better. Personally, I believe some light brushing would have been nice :D5 - Don't like the brushing on this one - colours or the mix of abstract/grunge. The conflicting scan lines don't help it either. Sorry, don't like this one either :P6 - I like this grunge one a lot more. The colours aren't too dark or monotone. The render feels well placed, and blended. Just don't see any text - it just needs some to fill a bit of space - in my opinion.7 - The scanlines conflict too much with the abstract brushing. I would say lower the opacity on them, or remove altogether. Otherwise the brushing looks good, though I don't feel it goes with the Samus render that well, and she feels cut off on the left. Oh, and yeah the text needs fixing - it's small, unreadable, unattractive... yeah - do something about it :DDefinitely not your best bunch Johnny. I think most people get some sort of block sometime - next lot should be better
  14. Yeah it's got a 1px black border, just coz of the colour it's not visible I guess. I agree The stripes are fine with me. Actaully the whole sig seems to work well
  15. Fix up the pixellation, and make the text more visible. Otherwise the bottom bit looks good. Might recommend a bit more colour range too.
  16. Last I heard, though, it won't be released until Christmas this year, and that's Japan... So an English release probably wouldn't be till later, and us in the PAL territories, probably even later.Liking the look of it though, it seems darker, hopefully more mature - (Bring on more Riku!). Oh and they have Mulan and Mushu... yeay
  17. Yeah, it looks good. Just a bit too monotone for me, and I don't like the font - you need to make the text stand out more if you want to use it. I actually would rather recommend a different font altogether, and to place the words closer together, perhaps in the bottom right.Brushing is nice though, maybe make sure you got it right round the edges of the sig too? (As it's so monotone, it may need it).
  18. I've wondered that too, I've never had a gf either, especially now a lot of my friends are in relationships, or at least have previously been in one. I'm definitely in the minority at this stage, which really does make one wonder - "Am I socially uncapable?". Honestly, though, I don't I am, and clearly you aren't (after you did socialise well with girls at the wedding), so it may be just a matter of waiting for the right one. Yes, it is bad to go to a school dance without a date, unless you have a definite group of friends who will go with you, and also don't have dates. I just had my formal (bit like a less hyped up Prom) several weeks ago, and it was terrible. First, my *friends* moved me off their table, as I was the odd one out once they all got partners (and at the beginning we were going solo ). Then, I didn't even get to sit next to random chicks, but with someone who was complaining how he didn't want to sit at my table - geez, I mean it's not like I wanted to either . So unless you can plan otherwise, dances/functions need a date - just someone to talk to really, so your night isn't a waste/boring. I don't think you should feel like a loser though (especially if they are that bad), but you should try to get to know the girls your age better. I highly doubt all of them are as immature as you say. Perhaps you've been trying the wrong crowd?
  19. Works for me. Looking good DJLuki, just don't desaturate your render when your brushing is so complex, and the Green goblin is a nice shiny green anyway - just right now it's hard to pick him out. The text looks pixellated on the edges too. Anti-alias it, or pick a different font, as the one you have now doesn't really suit it, in my opinion. Try something techy, and make it fancier :unsure:But hey, real nice background you got there.
  20. I know with my digital camera I got Ulead's Photo Impact, so if you do have a digital camera, you may have some sort of image editing software with it.Generally, though, GIMP is the best free one, and I don't know of any others. Perhaps if the Photoshop CS2 trial doesn't work, try just a Photoshop CS trial instead.
  21. Yeah, shh don't tell Johnny, but I initially was planning to try and move each letter - somehow I couldn't do it, and decided to be lazy I think I need to download a ton of stuff off Dafont . The swirly whirlies was pretty easy - I was actually trying to follow a tut for a different effect, but couldn't get it to work. Basically a pixel stretch, mezzonic (sp) filter, then a twirl filter.
  22. I had to reciprocate sometime, and I finally found the time to do it. Bit rusty, haven't done much in PS for the last few months. Oh, and since I've been criticising everyone's sigs for so long (even though I'm probably not warranted to be doing so ) - now is your chance to get me back - Hit me with all you got, I'm ready
  23. As shigajet said, the text in a lot of the sigs are hard to read Saint_Michael. I think generally, it's the thing that lets you down.Otherwise, overall, the brushing in the sigs are pretty good.
  24. Text is just a bit too blurred for my tastes... Nice brushing though, perhaps make the logo a bit bigger and more dominant, to take up more space? Looking good anyway Phyre.
  25. Maybe try the other Graphics & Animation forum - 3d Max Studio etc. one?
