  1. Well.. some suggestions... I'd say it's best to go for one Render, especially when it's of the same thing - or at least have one foregrounded, and one backgrounded. Instead of just lowering opacity, leave the renders at 100%, and trying brushing on top. Generally bigger renders are better, as it's easier to cover part of them without covering too much. Text doesn't really need to be fancy to be effective - find something that's not overly common, and then give it some sold colour. Then you can try some other effects on it. Fancy fonts are hard to essentially "blend" unless they suit the sig specifically.
  2. Johnny - I'm a huge fan of "light effects" - think the grungy background works, and good render.
  3. Double post is probably just due to some lag...Anyway, it's an interesting concept. The arm doesn't look quite right though, perhaps you need to make it protrude out of the body, rather than the bottom of the sig. I bet someone would be able to come up with an awesome speech bubble or something for th' dude though - could be funny as hell
  4. It really depends what kind of style you're trying to achieve. You may be a complex person, no? :)I do realise that backgrounds which serve no purpose, other than to be a background, generally should be simple. However, if a complex background can complement a render, then it's well worth doing. Overall, though, too simple tends to be better than too cluttered.
  5. Did one a while ago with a similar idea that's no longer used. Tell me what name you want on it, and it's yours.
  6. A bit monochromatic, and I don't go for some of the brushing - namely the star white thing, just on top of the text - it seems to disrupt the flow which you have going on the rest of the sig.Otherwise awesome use of the render shape and making it popout, and most of the brushes look good too
  7. Wagh! And you never picked up my pressie! :)Anyway, good luck with whatever you're doing SM, if it's just a matter of losing interest, I'm sure you'll get reinspired to come back sometime in the future.
  8. Bloody oath, all the entries this week look awesome! The bar has definitely been raised.
  9. As everyone said, pretty darn good for a first - your experience with other designing shows. I suppose it's not so much a "technical" thing, but rather having an eye for what looks good - well done.If you make any more stuff, be sure to post it up
  10. Ooo it's Chii!As everyone said, the third is the best. Try and get the border going the whole way round though. Otherwise it has a nice soft feel too it
  11. I vote Johnny. It has a nice simple, clean feel - and as Frozen said, it's unique.
  12. Age of Empires II. Well.. 'loved the game - good step up from AoE.Never tried RCT2... spent way too much time on the first one - I may get around to trying the third sometime though
  13. Yep. A lot. Generally signatures are wider than they are high, so the proportions are a bit off. You may have to cut off some of it. Otherwise, the text looks kinda cool, but so far it's just a picture (with monotone colour) with some words. Get some different colours on it, a border, better size, and try some effects to make it more "yours". Keep at it
  14. Star Wars: Rebel Assault 2 (PSone and PC) was pretty terrible - it had some funky footage, but I swear the gameplay was... well...
  15. I think it might be even more effective with a sans serif font - they generally have a cleaner look than serif. Otherwise its stylish.
  16. I think it looks n00bish. Seems like a bunch of brushing with poorly chosen text, slapped on with a render. Fix it good Johnny
  17. Well it looks good, even if, as what Frozen said, it lacks a bit of blending. I think you should try some different text effects also Johnny. It's not that it's bad or anything, it's just it could be miles better
  18. ^^ Basically what Johnny said.First sig is interesting, nice film concept. Tidus looks a bit pixellated though, and it could do with a border overall.Your current is pretty good, nice try at trying to *continue* the background octagon things from the render, and on a normal glance, blends quite well.
  19. Personally, I don't think it suits my tastes, but by all means, apart from that, it is presented quite well. The background is simplistic but effective, and blends behind the render nicely. The text is placed well, and some effects on it have made it stand out nicely, with a suitable font. The measurements are certainly interesting on the side. I think maybe if they had more of a context - ie more of a menu feel or something, it would be better
  20. How could you be so stupid? -_-Anyway, who was it? Someone from here? Or over @ GR or something?
  21. Not too bad I suppose. Overall, make sure you have a solid border that covers the whole sig, some of your borders are too light, or phase off when touching the render. Also maybe try some more brushing, and blending of renders, rather than just changing blending options/opacity.I like the second one best, it has an interesting background, I think text choice isn't bad, just perhaps a bigger, better placed render would do it.
  22. Sorry, don't mean to be hostile or anything, but I suppose you're talking about sales, rather than "best games", in which case it may have been better to say "Which of the highest grossing games for each console do you consider to be the best?" - and if you're not talking about sales, and not talking about console specific games, then... well I don't know. Zelda has the best story? I imagined it had the best gameplay in terms of the freedom and innovation. I haven't had the most experience with an N64 though, so I probably wouldn't know.
  23. Bit monotone for my tastes, and font choice could be fancier, with a more central placement. Otherwise it's not too bad, perhaps just a little plain.
  24. Yeah, if you look at the latest topics list, a ton of them are sig related. I think in this section it tends to be many topics, but fewer posts per topic, as it's mainly about commenting on one particular sig. Whether it should be totally separate or not is another thing though.
  25. I like 2. the best, as I'm really not feeling those corner things in 1 and 3.They do give off a nice textured feel, though it's perhaps too similar throughout the three. Make the letters on 2 stand out a bit more and it'd be a cool sig
