  1. That's a very clever picture, to say the least. You can either look at it as a portrait, or as an archway with two people and a dog.... when I first looked at it I have to admit I viewed it as a portrait...It looks as if it were done by hand, but I don't think it's impossible to do something similar in Photoshop, but you would still need the similar skills in drawing, and would probably require a scan, with colouring in Photoshop... and no, I could never in my lifetime ever create anything so intricate.
  2. Honestly, I never liked Runescape. My friends, cousins, web-friends, all play/have played it somewhat seriously for a period of time. I, myself, have only touched it for perhaps a couple of hours, although I have spent many watching my cousin play...I feel the community there is rather rude, unfriendly, and certainly it's hard to find help for new players, from other players. My little cousin has even picked up several "bad" terms from playing the game, which surely, while cannot be helped, nor it being the fault of the game, shows the type of community it hosts. But as it is free, requires seemingly little download, and is readily available, it's popularity will be stable, or continue to grow for the meantime at least.
  3. Played X and X-2, yet to see XI for PS2 in Australia, and XII is scheduled for release in Japan in Spring or something...X-2 is certainly different, and most FF nutters (like myself), would prefer X... still I'm kinda impartial to FFIX myself, chibi characters are cool - not to mention a return to old roots...But currently, I'm working on FFI & II (Dawn of Souls) on my GBA.
  4. Yeah, it certainly is a shame that to find results that I want I often have to browse to the next page or two, but no search engine can be perfect all the time. dark, are you sure it wasn't some sort of advertisement on the side, or perhaps a sponsored link? Show us a screenshot or something next time, because for the tsunami, there certainly shouldn't be any Ebay stuff up top.
  5. Wow, I reckon that's really good. If it really is Impact, great work on modifying it and adding the snow-like features, it looks awesome. I also have to comment on the transparencies - they look very smooth - PNG's are so much better than GIF's for transparencies, but it's a shame only FF users see the PNG transparencies properly
  6. I thought you could download your emails from your Hotmail account as well through Outlook? - and as dexter said, POP3 defeats the purpose of Gmail.I love my Gmail, the only thing I would have against it is how Google can store your email even after you've deleted it. Even though they have an extensive privacy policy, it wouldn't do any important transactions on it (but I guess you wouldn't on Hotmail either seeing how it gets hacked). As for loading/space/functions - Gmail wins hands down, my Hotmail has just become a spam box.
  7. Depends what you want. As people said, Google will get you a nice list, but to be more specific... *I know these URL's are obvious * Game wallpapers - http://www.gamewallpapers.com/ Anime wallpapers - http://www.animewallpapers.com/ There are also design groups/individuals who show off their work at DeviantArt - http://www.deviantart.com/ Also http://clantemplates.com/ is a good graphics community, maybe you could find something to your liking there.
  8. Very nice. I reckon it could look better with some AA or something on the edges though? Seems a bit rough/jagged...Oh and if you do have it like that, make the canvas size bigger so you don't cut off some of the glow
  9. Photoshop is surely the professional package. It's renound as the best or definitely up the top for image manipulation. I've used PhotoImpact only a little, and while it is certainly good for image editing, it does lack some of the cooler things Photoshop can do.In terms of being user friendly, both require a bit of trial and error, but there is definitely a lot of free documentation on the Internet for Photoshop, I'm not so sure about Photoimpact. You also have to consider price, I know Photoshop is quite expensive, I don't know how much Photoimpact is. If you do decide to get Photoshop, consider Photoshop Elements, or even PaintShopPro for cheaper alternatives...
  10. I used to be wholly addicted to Age II, played it every spare moment for a year straight. The economy system/structure seems to be a lot more complicated than the other RTS's which were popular at the time (ie Warcraft II, StarCraft, C&C Red Alert), although I have had fun with those games as well.Only think I didn't like was the variation of the civ's, didn't seem visual enough, sure you had your European/Asian/Middle East sets, but I would have liked more than that. Obviously what Ensemble did with balancing was very good, and each civ is handled well. I know a lot of clans who moved from AgeII -> AoM and found it to be an unsuccessful venture, as AoM was not as easily accessible as AoEII was.
