  1. I vote Samma. I really like the soft brushing and render choice, with the little funky boxes on the left. Think I've already commented on it in the Showoff forum.Bluhapp: 2TrueFusion: 1SarCasM: 0mayank: 0Rejected: 0samma: 1Moody: 0SnXster: 0
  2. Looks good. Love the little square sections on the left, and the soft brushing works well. Don't know about font choice - personally I would have gone with a more script-like font, but the shadow and colour works well. Oh, and I think if you could move the diagonal/line bar thing - the top one - either lower or higher. I don't like how it's currently covering the render's eyes.
  3. Quite nice. Text is interesting and with some good effects. I would get rid of the shadow on the render though. And maybe try some brighter colours? Just feels a bit boring as it is.
  4. I vote Snil.Awesome border, good text and render blending. Very compact, but very nice.SM: 2snlildude87: 2Avalon: 1 Notice from snlildude87: Keep score after vote
  5. Half Life 2, Doom 3, Halo 1 & 2, GTA (3, Vice City, San Andreas - I only have the first original 2D one ), World of Warcraft... the list goes on. Basically anything recent that's popular. My computer is getting on...
  6. Yeah your fonts are ok, but just having good fonts isn't enough. If the opacity of the scanlines are low but they're still obvious maybe you have to try a different blending mode altogther - overlay or soft light perhaps. And borders are important. It's the difference between a polished/finished sig and an unfinished one.
  7. The more active/strong the forum community is, the faster it will grow (attractive/active topics). This in turn will bring more visitors to the forums, and increase forum ad views. I'm guessing, that unless your site has a lot of visitors (and doesn't quickly suck up your bandwidth) that ads on personal Xisto sites would generate very little revenue, and it is desirable to have a focus on forum activity.
  8. In which case - you should either wait till the next generation consoles come out and get one of those, or, still wait until the next generation consoles come out, as the older consoles will get a nice price drop - you'll be able to get everything on budget - buying now will see you paying more for a PS2/Xbox than you will in, say, six months time. If you want something current - well the Gamecube is an excellent choice if you want to spend a bit less on the console. In terms of specs, the GC is better than the PS2, and Nintendo has a lot of the best games for the console in the classics range already. It really depends on what games you like though. For FPS you can't go past an Xbox with Halo, for RPG's, the PS2 is for you (unless you really want Fable or sommat).
  9. Yeah, you got a pretty powerful GFX Card there... I'm surprised that ...can run it... I'm guessing on rather low specs? My GFX card isn't good enough for it by a long shot (GeForce2MX) but I have heard that BF2 is pretty damn cool, but helicopters and stuff are hard to control?
  10. Pretty much agree with what SM and Snil said. All three are just a bit bland. Text can be worked on - with simpler sigs, it's best to have larger text to compensate (unless you're attempting a minimalistic look). Borders are important... as is colour variation. Some nice render blending going on. Just spice them up a bit and they'll be looking good
  11. Blending is nice, if not somewhat overdone. I think the overcontrast is no good though; the extremely light blue patches put me off. The tech brushing isn't working so well either - maybe you need fancier and more varied ones - I can see you're trying to get the whole "gun aim tags tech" thing, but it doesn't quite work. Liking the main text - readable and blends in, as does the pixel text.
  12. 1. Final Fantasy IX (and the rest, but IX the most)2. Age of Empires II: The Conquerors3. Command & Conquer: Red Alert4. Counter-Strike5. Tekken Tag Tournament (not so much the newer ones, but 2,3 also)6. Call of Duty7. Enemy Territory8. Kingdom Hearts9. Advance Wars (GBA games are cool too)10. Pokemon (we all played it, and it's a bloody good RPG)
  13. Well, Snil made that one a while ago, I would actually say the same thing about his After looking at the render again, I guess I understand that if you were to chop off a bit of the top it might look weird. I like your style, and I agree, grunge is overdone - a little bare is better than a generic grunge. More leaves certainly may help, but it could ruin the effect you were trying to achieve (right now, at a glance, it looks like army camo). Maybe try for some more contrast in terms of colour, like having the background slightly different around the render (lighter/darker/different coloured leaves/quantity of leaves, whatever), and gradually blends in with the left side of the signature - just to give the render more of a "focus", so to speak.
  14. They're quaint in their own way, kinda funny if anything.
  15. I'm not sure which of Snil's sigs you're talking about, but for your one, Avalon, there is quite a substantial amount of space above and below the text. It's not really bad, because the background is quite interesting. However, it still does feel a little bare, and if you were to make the height smaller, or elaborate on brushing in those areas, it would be better filled. It's also because the actual render size is not so big, as there is background showing around the bow, and in the top right. I really do like the background though
  16. Like the brushing, but as Snil is saying, it's too bright in bits and the sig seems a little bare on the right on top and below the text. Try some vectors or tech brushing there perhaps?
  17. I vote Truefusion. It's a nice pixel stretch and love the concept with little pics in part of the stretch. Brushing is good, and text works, though could be fancier :PSM, I liked yours a lot as well. If you had your text in a better position I may have voted for yours. Snil, yours was very good also, but I'd like to see a different text style from you?
  18. Well it's interesting, but I think some of the brushing doesn't match, like the thing in the top left corner. As others have said the border really needs to be changed. Don't like the really bright overcontrasted bits either... but overall ths signature is alright.
  19. Text is hard, there's no doubt about it. But try some less common looking fonts, that are still fairly readable and try some effects on it (whether it be blending options + gradient/shadow/stroke or a rasterized text layer + filters or something), and you will have enhanced it tenfold.
  20. "Holiday season" - so somewhere near the end of the year I believe. I don't think the official Japanese DVD has subtitles in English, but if you were to obtain it "not so legally" there are probably some fansubs or something on it. It's relatively easy to find, just look around on some torrent sites if you must.
  21. Not too bad for a start. I'd say scrap the background, and find something textured, rather than a 3D render. This is because the render itself isn't so crisp, so having a crisp background highlights the render's kinda blurry nature. Choose a fancier font and get it to stand out more from the rest of the picture. Right now it's just a bit small, and the font itself feels a bit thin, especially when considering it's placed on top of the render. Oh, and don't forget a border at the end
  22. I'm sorry, but I would have to agree with those results. The background and text on the top one is nicer. Gyad, next time choose a fancier font, and try some brushing in the background
  23. Honto?I would interchange love with something, err, less suggestive
  24. More of a profile than a sig, I'd say. Nice and simple though. Add a border, and make the fields "Name" and "Description" stand out more from the other text too improve it
  25. Yeah, if anything, don't go for the overcontrasted look. It's terrible. Otherwise it's not so bad, add a border to finish it though.
