  1. I've always been a fan of First Person Shooters, but I also like Third Person Shooters just as much. Heck, I'll pretty much play anything but an RPG! I've never really liked RPGs...well that's a lie I do like RPGs but I like the ones that are based in real time combat. The ones without real time combat don't really prove a lot that you have a lot of skill, they just prove that you are lucky with a random number generator.
  2. If you have noscript installed on your Mozilla browser it wouldn't be so annoying as well, and if you knew that trick from somewhere else previously then you just ignore the information bar.

    Hi

Welcome back! Hopefully you can get your old username back, though I don't really see the point at this point as you've already got points for hosting already.
  4. TV shows are never a good place to extract scientific information. For example, Star Trek bases itself on many scientific theories, but it itself comes into fallacies. Transporters cannot exist because of Heisenburg's Theory of Uncertainty. The "Warp bubble" that allows the Enterprise to travel past the speed of light would require more energy to maintain than the output we could get from contained antimatter-matter reactions that occur in the Warp nacelles, and this was probably the most plausible scientific theory from any TV show for interstellar travel that has been in part actually explained, next to the wormhole. Alternate dimensions/universes have never been proven to exist. Physics allows for them to exist but they have never been proven to exist, and we don't have a theory of Quantum Gravity yet so we don't really know if black holes could transport us to these dimensions spaghettified.
  5. What you do is you take a popular site domain, let's say wikipedia.org.Now you make it look like it has a typo in it, how about wikipdia.org. Now you register the domain and see how much traffic it gets in a month. If enough traffic hits it in a month to meet the requirements of a pay per click host, then we go to a pay per click host like Hitfarm. You point your domain to the host's servers and then they will setup an ad portal for you. This ad portal can make you at least $500 per month if you have enough traffic. These ad portals look like http://www.be.com/ and http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ . I'm sure you stumbled upon them at least once. Basically if it isn't trademarked, it's fair game. Like ymndt.com or ylcos.com or even ecapsym.com. A lot of typosquat domains are already registered so it's hard to get in sometimes but if you find something unregistered you might make a fair amount of money. I don't really have much experience in this field, but I've read up a little on it. I don't really do any business online.
  6. That's not really annoying. Look at almost any MySpace profile. Your eyes will melt out of your head. There are also YTMNDs made specifically to be very annoying with only the use of sound and pictures: http://tellmeaboutthewhistles.ytmnd.com/ http://polendcraft64.ytmnd.com/ http://ddrpolendvote6.ytmnd.com/ The middle one is probably the most annoying at the end.
  7. I don't like the ideas of the Wii on how to control the console. I'd rather go with the 360 based on that alone.

    New Rpg

That sounds very generic. Try something that relates to your storyline, if any.
  9. We've all probably had dreams like this. I used to have dreams that I have cardiac arrest and then when I'm about to die and when I go completely limp from my heart stopping, I wake up and have the same feeling that you had when you woke up. The feelings were very vivid as well, though the dreams were never as articulate as the one you had.
  10. Great, now the service will be subject to abuse by spambots, as I have personally seen already. Invite or texting only would work much better in combatting spam than using a simple CAPTCHA and trying to fend them off that way. It'd be so easy for the people that run spambots to register a few gmail accounts it's rediculous. Less spammers would tend to join if it were closed to invites and phone queries.
  11. Testosterone is the chemical responsible for the human sex drive, whether you are male or female. It is natural for teenage males to have little restraint - they're not used to having a sex drive and cannot control it because of the high amounts of testosterone in their body(compare with your body, which produces a fraction of the testosterone). You can easily see that your testosterone levels have also affected the way that you think. The only ways you're going to stop them is if you antagonize them so that they hate you and they can regain control of their senses somewhat, or if you make yourself smarter and/or less attractive to them. I would go for the latter because it will not lead to penalties and it will teach you how petty vanity is.
  12. Ever turned a doorknob? There's more bacteria and virii on a doorknob than a toilet seat. Mysophobia is not an excuse for not being able to lift up a toliet seat. Ever wonder why when you go to a public bathroom and you use the stall you see that the toilet seat is a horseshoe shape rather than an oval? That's to shutup this little argument as well as to contend with those that have mysophobia. If we all had horseshoe toilet seats there wouldn't be an argument between anyone for such a stupid little thing because it's unisex when down.
  13. America may be built on capitalism, but not only are these illegals getting an unfair wage, they are also causing a bubble which unbalances the natural progression of inflation. Since these people work for less, other people are replaced by them. Now companies can produce goods for less money. But now due to inflation the prices rise, but the wages in jobs do not increase to offset this because we have illegal immigrants who can do the work for us without us needing to pay more. Goods are produced for the same price they were before and not less like normally. Now the goods are more expensive to us, and employers are lowering the economy to Canada's level, and possibly Mexico's in a longer period of time. In addition we are not a manufacturing country anymore. We've opened ourselves to the world - we aren't isolationist despite its idealism. The country is moving from the production industry to a service industry(an industry where people that work as doctors, janitors, and teachers are more plentiful than factory workers). We don't need these workers as much anymore. The only application where we are really producing goods that we will perpetually keep is the farming industry and the auto industry. I have relatives in the farming industry. Farms don't even need tons of workers anymore. Tractors?have?integrated?GPS?systems which nearly completely automate the entire process of removing corn and other such goods.?The?auto?industry?is?pretty much crumbling?in?the?US.?Legal?workers?could?find?work?in?animal?farming and other dirty jobs. There's enough workers coming into the country to satisfy this without the need for illegals. We still have a jobs to fill that these immigrants can fill in additon to those that can't find jobs here. I'm sure many jobs will be open if illegals were exiled. We don't need illegal immigrants. We need legal immigrants who work at decent wages. As I said if we overtax those businesses who hire even one illegal we now offset the costs of the war and offset the tax money that we waste on them. If we need more immigrants coming into this country than the hundreds of thousands coming here legally already, the government can just increase the quota. The only way illegal immigrants would be a benefit to this nation is if we tax cocaine and other various drugs. There are tons of it crossing the border each day, smuggled in humans, pets, food, et cetera that cross this border legally or not. The only way we're really going to stop illegal immigration is if we punish those that feed it, and improve the countries that this immigration comes from so the desire for illegal immigration is reduced to 0, but we can still have immigration. My idea to do this is through heavy taxation to businesses to chose to do hire illegal workers, increase peace corps funding for our southerly and easterly nations could theoretically help at least a little bit in stopping this.
  14. I prefer NVIDIA because its graphic drivers don't suck as royally, especially in free and open source operating systems. People say they've improved, but I still say they haven't improved enough!
  15. Napalm wouldn't be a good fuel. It doesn't explode, it burns, and whatever it burns, it sticks to, making it a very effective weapon but a poor fuel unless you want to work on an external combustion engine, which has never had the reputation of being as quick, compact, or reliable as an internal combustion engine. IIRC those engines take longer to start up and burn more fuel as well, and if the engine used cheap grade terrorist napalm derived from gasoline it wouldn't really solve any problems we have today. In space it wouldn't be used for propulsion unlike a nuclear, plasma, or antimatter-matter reactor simply because it doesn't explode and attempts for external combustion wouldn't really work out as well due to the lack of oxygen(and if water were discharged off the backside of the rocket it wouldn't serve the crew too well nor generate a decent amount of power for even mere stellar travel, much less interstellar).
  16. I actually got the account from someone here via invitation. A few minutes later I had a gmail account, and a few weeks later my Lycos mailbox was upgraded to 3 GB, so now I've got about 5 GB of space to use that I'll never find an actual use for, I'll bet.
  17. By dibbling and dabbling with Macromedia Dreamweaver I learnt to create pages within a week or two, and then refined my code when figured out newer techniques.
  18. Typosquatting by definition would be to take a popular website's name and make a small adjustment to it that would make it look like a typo. Then you register it, and then you watch its traffic for a month. After you see how many people visited, you can setup a pay-per-click portal and make possibly $500 a month.
  19. The easiest way is to get a typosquatting domain, watch its traffic, and then use a pay per click service to rake in the cash. It's underhanded, but it's worked for many people.A harder but more honest way is to make a site and popularize it, and add several adverts. You'll make less money, though if hosting costs are quite high.
  20. I'm more concerned about them putting weight on our American taxdollars than them changing our language, but that's high on the list of why I don't want illegal immigrants in this nation as well. What we need to do is tax employers of illegals highly so their profits are hurt greatly. Then there is no incentive for them to hire illegals, then jobs will he filled by American citizens. Since the illegals cannot get jobs, they will return to Mexico or Canada(or wherever) and either attempt to get here legally, or get a job in their home country, thus improving its economy and paving the way to making illegal immigration undesirable.
  21. If SMTP is disabled and POP3 isn't available then the next best thing would be to simply have a good URL CAPTCHA. I can tell you right now email confirmations don't really stop spambots all too well anymore, and phpBB's CAPTCHA sucks, so you're going to have to install a mod if you want to stem any flows of spambots that would come your way.You can always wait until you get a hosting account here as well. I don't think it will hurt too much after you import your database to here.
  22. That'd have to be one fancy keyboard to do that without your knowlege. You could easily keylog that way, but how would you send it off without knowlege from the user? Keylogging programs can just send off the data using Winsock or BSD sockets. A firmware stored in the keyboard couldn't do that - the orders would be sent to the keyboard buffer which would be processed by the OS on screen and then the activity would be easily noticed by the user. There'd need to be cooperation with the operating system manufacturers to do anything completely hidden that's without suspicion.
  23. I have to agree. Consistency is a key. If your website isn't stable, often users won't bother going to it. After overhauling The Code You Need several times due to content management issues and hosting transfers I haven't really gotten any visitors at all. I'm pretty much the only one contributing to the site and viewing the contributions .Another tip is to expand your forums over time. Make a forum with only 2 categories or so at first. As your community gets bigger, make more forums to categorize your posts. This makes your forum look more active, and encourages other people to register as a result.
  24. I played Civilization II, but I would like to get Civilization III or IIII because the game was very fun, albeit lacking compared to many current games. I usually don't like to play strategy games, but Civilization was one that I actually enjoyed.
  25. Meh, people die every day. Where's the forum topic for them? I don't think he ever made a significant contribution to mankind to justify any sort of media frenzy (just like Anna Nicole Smith. I still don't get why the media was beating a dead horse for over a week for someone like her). He isn't a Gary Kildall, Ronald Regan, or a Carl Sagan. There isn't anything significant he's done to justify media coverage beyond the WWE website. He was just an entertainer, not a brilliant astronomer, not an cunning inventor, and certainly not a diplomat. Entertainers don't do anything to deserve media coverage unless they were someone like Bruce Haack who contributed somewhat significantly to the field. The death of Chris Benoit is sad, but did he really do anything in his life to deserve as much media coverage as, say, the death of one of your close family members(like a grandfather who could have earned many honors in foriegn wars), or is it because he appeared on TV somewhere that isn't public access he should deserve coverage? Though the anotomy of what happened during his death is quite strange, and you might think that is deserving of some media coverage, has not worse deaths happened and never reported nationally?
