hahaha. is it me or does the image look exactly the same? there's no difference in the color. but then again, it might be, just maybe, it's me. you know there are a lot of factors when considering the difference in color. try asking a female to look at the difference. and that's not a sexist statement. it's just a fact that women have the better ability when it comes to comparing colors.

we just had that problem like a few weeks ago. in my major subject, we do programming challenges so some of the students in class could be chosen as contestants in an international contest. so here's the specs: that specs assumes that the suits have no impact on value. i've played poker before but i think it's a different variation over the original poker. the one i've played also uses the suits and the ranking from lowest to highest is clubs, spades, hearts, and diamonds. i don't know if the real poker game follows this style, but you could still search for it over the net. hope this helps.

well, society wants us to think that way. i guess the reason why she's open about it is because she feels that she is free by doing that. we have no control over that, and we cannot force her to stop doing what she feels could make her feel at her best. but like the previous post, it's not good health wise. it gets to the point that what she's doing wouldn't be good for her and her health. try guiding her and giving her some advice. nevermind the people who are teasing her. they are the ones who what i call "evil", those that step on people even at their lows. it's good that she has a friend that is concerned. help her out.

country music isn't that bad, but yeah, played too much isn't good. i've listened to some, but i think their genre is modern country rather just country. there's a difference, its boundaries intersect with pop music, and since i was born in the era of pop music, i guess that's the reason why i can appreciate such genre of songs. although there are pop music that i hate but i don't have to name artists.

yes. as i've mentioned before, my classmate uses paint to create his icons when he did his project for his thesis last year. well, thanks for the tips, i'll try them out once we've started on the prototype phase. right now, we're still designing the user interface and we're still trying to find a cool name for our application.

does anyone know how to create very cool icons that can be used in an application. my groupmates and i are creating an application for our thesis in school and we're now in the prototype design phase. we'll individually propose a catchy name for the application and design a User Interface for the application, and have it approved by our professor.i need to create icons for the application, but it has to be a cool one, sort of like the mozilla firefox's icons or the usual windows icons. i've searched through the net and it only teaches the basic icon-making stuff. my friend told me he uses paint to make his icons, but i'm kinda troubled when it comes to creating cool graphics in paint (it's hardcore, if you ask me. my friend shocked me when he said that he only used paint to create his icons), i might end up making prehistoric-looking icons. hehe.again, i don't know which subforum to place this, so i just put it here. sorry.

the minimum hours that i sleep a day is 30 minutes. that's just a nap during bus rides. it usually happens when i have to do projects and assignments. the maximum is 12-14 hours, if i get too tired after working so hard on a day.

are you kidding? mine isn't even in any of the choices. i use the pc like around 12 hours or so, usually because of studies, since i'm already in my thesis year now, so computer access at home is a must. and don't forget the internet connection.

when i was a freshie in college, a classmate of mine asked me a poll if i prefer a long distance relationship or not, and if i did, how long would i last in a relationship of that setting. i said yes, and i said i could last about a year. true it's very difficult, but since i haven't been into that kind of relationship before, i really don't know if one year is the true answer for that.i have read a blog on the internet where the owner is currently having a long distance relationship with her boyfriend. she's in canada and her boyfriend is in the philippines. if i'm not mistaken, it's already more than a year now since she left the philippines since they migrated to canada already. and they're still going steady. i have read some of her post which she said that they are constantly communicating. she did emphasize that she misses her boyfriend, and that the setting is really difficult, since they don't see each other. she hopes that she could finish her studies and work already so she could come back to visit her boyfriend.i think the entire point of having a long-distance relationship and how to keep it up and going is by having constant communication. it could be calling each other once in a while, emailing, writing snail mail and all. just for you to keep in touch. true, there's that longing for the tangible stuff and that you want to see them more and more. but at least you get to see her like everyweek, compared to the example that i just gave that they are miles apart, that they can't see each other for like a very long time. you're still lucky that the geographical boundary between you two is not that big. and seeing each other once a week is not that bad. at least you would always have that longingness to see each other and keep the fire burning, so that you'll always be glad to see each other once you meet up during weekend.

jealousy roots from one's insecurity. you're jealous of someone because you think that that person has something that you don't have (thus the insecurity), and that you're afraid that "that something" is what your special someone is trying what they see that you lack. then paranoia sets in. you start to not trust your partner because you think they will leave you for that other person.you know, you don't have to push yourself too hard. first start off by looking at yourself first. you have to increase your confidence level in order for you to trust yourself and your abilities more, thus lessening that "insecurity". the problem with insecure people is they always try to look for what they don't have and not get contented with what they already have. it's hard to do but that's realistic. on the relationship, once you are able to trust yourself more, you should also trust your partner. with that said, she sould also trust you, after all, it is a relationship. two people should be working hard for the relationship to continue and grow, not just one. take note, i used the phrase "working hard". some people take a relationship for granted, not realizing that it's something that you also put an effort in order for it to flourish. if the other doesn't recognize the effort you've done, then it's not worth calling a relatioship and not worth continuing anymore.think about it.

here i am again to ask help about viruses. my mom bought her laptop a few weeks ago (the one i was telling in one of the threads i started here that the dvd drive isn't reading any dvd's) and asked my older brother to copy the images she got using my older brother's digital camera and transfer it to her laptop. when he did that, he realized that the images were infected with viruses so he installed avast antivirus to remove the threats. after he did that when i tried opening the laptop, a message kept popping up saying, "Cannot find C:\Windows\KesenjanganSosial.exe, please specify the correct path and try again". i know it's a worm, but whichever application is using that must be a problem as well. the thing is i've installed avg on the laptop and downloaded the updates and ran a full system scan, but it didn't detect any virus.do any of you know a better antivirus that could probably solve that? just the free ones of course.thanks. i'll check back in a bit.

just the blank one. if i use google or yahoo as the start page, it will look for a connection, but since i don't have connection most of the time, it's just set for the blank page. and besides, i use my browsers to create my pages for my website.

well, it usually depends on the contents that you're making. using html isn't that difficult. actually it's the most basic stuff you need in creating a website. it's like A-B-C. i bet a 10 year old can make his own website on his own. actually, when i came to this forum, i found some members who already have created some cool websites, and they're just 12 or 14? i mean i've learned html when i was 15 and created a php-based webpage/blog just last year, and i'm already in my college years. really, it's just easy. if understanding a basic stuff is difficult for you, then don't do it. if it's frustrating for you to just even try, then don't. we have a quote here that says, "if you really want to do something, the motivation to do it will make you look for ways to accomplish it no matter what. excuses are only made by those who don't want to lift a finger".and that's the reason why they made those personal webpage stuff like friendster or myspace, to make life easier to people who don't have the technical know-how, or at least to those who complain that it's difficult to learn.

i am a superman and batman fan, since i've been watching movies/shows of them since i was a kid. if i were to choose which of them i like better, i'd choose batman over superman, mainly because he's human. although superman lived as a human (and aged like humans), he has these super powers that obviously is not human. i'm not saying that it's bad, i just think that batman resembles a more realistic hero, since he only relies on his intellect and his human strength to fight crimes, something humans can always do, while superman is just a representation of the idea that "all men have their weaknesses", being someone who have extraordinary strength, but has an achilles' heel.

well, "liking" is way far different from "loving". are you really sure that the girl feels the same way for you? it's more of her problem not letting go of her current boyfriend so she could stick with you. if she "loves" (take note, i used the word "love" not "like") you then she should know better that there's no point in staying with someone whom she doesn't love anymore. if you say that she "likes" you, then that's another thing. you can't just go jumping around and shooting people's boyfriends just because their girlfriends "like" you. people could easily misinterpret what others say. i could say to someone that i "like" them in a casual way and not giving them the idea that i'm into them. and that goes the same for you. i'm just going to leave you the question, is it really "love"?

actually, i just found out that the drive only reads original dvds (my dad has an original copy of the eagles concert), which doesn't make some sense to me, considering that the dvd that my friend gave me isn't a rip or something. i just had her burn some videos so i could watch it on the laptop. yet it doesn't read it.when i used troubleshooting in windows, it said that i have to have cyber dvd (it's the application that is required for the dvd's to be played) installed. when the laptop was bought, my older brother had already installed the application.about the speed, i also noticed that the drive is weak when it comes to reading data. weak meaning it doesn't read data from discs as fast as it's supposed to. i've tried playing the video on my dad's eagles concert, and realized that playback is choppy, although i've tried checked the settings for the playback to be smooth, yet the problem still arises.

well, the technician said that the reason why the dvd drive isn't reading the disc was because of its speed. jeez. what's the point of having a drive if it doesn't read the discs that it is supposed to work on. anyway, i proved that one when i play vcds and music cds. the playback becomes choppy and it's kinda irritating. so much for having a new laptop. does anyone know how to make a dvd drive work/read faster? if that's even possible.tsk. later peeps.

i've checked the drive's stats. it's a dvd-rw (dvd/cd-rw to be exact). the discs are dvd-r so i suppose the drive should read it, but it doesn't, it doesn't even detect the disc. the region is ok, there's no problem with that. well, i don't know what else the problem is so i'm having my mom check it at the store. (well she's the one who bought it so it's hers. i'm just trying to use it hoping i could watch a movie or something.) oh by the way, i've tried uninstalling the drive and installed it again, but it still didn't work.

well the dvd drive doesn't even detect the dvd's at home. but it does detect cd audio or vcd. i've tried using troubleshooting but it says i have to install a codec. what's the use of the codec if my drive doesn't even detect the dvd in the first place?oh well. i'll check back later.

well, i've tried using the search bar, but it returned an error, so if there's a duplicate topic about this, forgive me.my mom bought a laptop a few weeks back and my older brother installed everything the laptop needs for it to be fully functional (including players for dvd's). i got some videos from a classmate that was written on dvd, so i thought the laptop is the best option for me to play them. when i tried playing the dvd on the laptop, the drive just lights up for a few seconds (and makes a vibration that tells you that the dvd is spinning) but after that, nothing happens. it doesn't read anything from the dvd. i tried using an audio cd, and it plays the cd automatically. i used my older brother's dvd's at home but it doesn't work as well. i've checked the specs of the laptop and as far as i can remember, it said that the drive is a dvd/cd-rw so i guess there's no problem with that. i've check the drive status, and it's working properly. yet it can't detect the dvd.by the way, the dvd/cd-rw is ASUS SCB-2424A

are you talking about just christianity, and not religion in general? religion is a very complicated topic to be discussed, even more focus on just one kind of religion out of thousands.i am a catholic, but i'm not devout. i don't believe everything that is contained in my religion--the rules, and all those stuff. it's because i've been through stuff in my life that i believe that the bible, or my religion for that matter, can't explain. the devout people always come to me and say, "no, the bible can explain everything that goes through one's life", but i think there are some stuff that doesn't seem to verify it all.i'm probably in a position of questioning christianity, but it's something i dwell upon too much, since like what i've said, it's a complicated stuff i don't even want to go through. all i know is i want to live my own life with my own ideals.

what if the information got mixed up and later you realized that someone has just charged everything into your account? these stuff should be fool-proof and 100% safe that nobody's going to use your identity for their own greedy needs.

does anyone know how to get an ACM account? i need to get an access with their digital library. i need to find some articles, journals or works for my literature search for our thesis project. jeez, my professor just told me he doesn't have an account so now i'm scrambling and the deadline of the literature summary is on thursday. oh why oh why do i have to suffer always. grrr.or if you could help me get an access if you know someone who has an account there. the account is not free and my prof said that i have to pay like $18 for that... tell me how can i get that kind of money in just 2 days. my professor probably thinks we're rich enough to get the things we want and need. but then again, it's school work, it's just that i hope my prof just told us a bit sooner so that we're not scrambling. we had two weeks and he just says it like a short notice or something.
