i agree with this one. if she really bothers you at such a constant rate, let her come to you and talk to her. properly of course. you should shout at her for bugging you, you might hurt her feelings. tell her that what she's doing doesn't do good to both of you. obviously because she's wasting a lot of time, which she could use for more important stuff. and by bugging you, you won't be able to work or do your stuff properly. if she confesses her feelings towards you (thus the reason she kept on bugging you), tell her properly that you're already seeing someone if you're really seeing someone, or if not, tell her that you're not the right person for her, and that she'd be better off with other guys, and tell her that you won't be able to reciprocate the same amount of feelings that she gives you, and that in a relationship, a couple almost always work things out. tell her that it won't work between the two of you and she'll just get hurt in the long run. well that's not really the best way to do that. you don't have to resort to lying just to move her out of the way.

Nasa Found Life On Mars But Killed It!
master_bacarra replied to techlive's topic in Science and Technology
well, if it's found on one area, it could also be found in other areas. so i don't necessarily think they killed all the specimen. they killed some in the area, but if that organism has been thriving in there for years, then most probably they've already multiplied, enough for it to have a colony or something. -
Help With Not Asking A Girl Out

well, try to be friends with her more. in that way you gain a lot of trust from her. i think friendship is the best way to start a relationship, not dating or anything. -
My Internet Connection The most slowest thing on earth
master_bacarra replied to electron's topic in The Vent
i don't know if india's connection was also affected by the recent taiwan earthquake. but if that's the case, then you have to endure the effects of the earthquake for now. but if the problem has already happened long ago, then i think you should report that to your ISP provider. they should have an answer to that. -
well, our past is more like tribal and not medieval with all the swords and castles. but i find your response to your own topic very biased, and nonsense perhaps. basically because you compared two eras that are very different from each other and you just supported your answer by saying that "it's because there's electricity". that's just normal for a person who has lived his entire life in an era where the houses are lit up with light bulbs and televisions run in full color. and to live in an era that doesn't have electricity would just make your life not worthwhile. basically our time is just an output of the struggles of the past. that life today is a bit improved (for lack of a better term) compared to the past, with all the convenience and luxury that wasn't even discovered during the past.with that said, i would like to live in a time where witches were accused because of their beliefs, and burned at the stake, not because i want to see how they do their executions, but because i want to know more about their culture and how they live through life and stuff, and their rituals as well. i think that's something cool.

it was already mentioned before that the derivative of the meals should be accompanied with proper exercise. it doesn't mean that just because you're breaking down two to three major meals into "snacks" doesn't mean you're taking in too much. and it was also mentioned beforehand that the snacks to be taken are just light ones. and for once, the topic is about increasing metabolism. i already know the purpose of having a breakfast and which kinds of foods to take so i won't get hungry during the day.

for what it's worth, the thread starter should be blamed you wanna know why? because you're misleading the readers. your topic title doesn't match your poll question. so most likely everyone who reads the title in the last post section below would assume that the poll question would be the same. and most likely most of you (even me, perhaps), have voted for the wrong answer, or at least the opposite of what you should have answered.

thanks. i actually didn't realize people would find my words inspirational. losing weight need not be a burden, and people should enjoy it like the way they enjoy eating. as long as they're comfortable with the plan they're doing, it would work. we all want output, and if we feel like there are some changes that had occured, then it's already a good sign. we may not see a drastic change on our outside appearance but what makes us feel is more important. i guess having a positive outlook does help. i mean i've been through a lot of stuff in life, much tougher, and losing weight isn't comparable to that.

just because the person responsible for the death is already dead and that there's no one else who should take the blame, doesn't make it a canditate for legality. it is illegal in a sense that it is still killing life. just because it's illegal doesn't mean it should always be paid by some materialistic price or an equivalent time in jail. you can't charge someone who committed suicide and let him pay fine for killing himself, or throwing his lifeless body in jail. for those religious people, suicide is equivalent to a sin that the soul is burned in hell for eternity. making it legal woudn't make sense either. successfull suicide would give a scar to those who were left behind. those who probably care more about the person. as the cliche goes, "life will never be the same". those who would be bugged by their conscience would probably end up blaming themselves and in the worst case scenario, suicide. the emotional scar will be deep. unsuccessful suicide would have a psychological effect to the one who attempted the feat (for lack of a better term). studies show that people who attempts suicide have the tendency to become mentally challenged (politically correct term). the point is not about who's to pay or who's to blame. it's about the effect of making such stuff legal.
-
well, your problem woudn't be solved because you're already dead. it should be illegal because it's still killing, even if the one you're killing is yourself. although i haven't seen anyone who didn't continue with killing themselves and end up in jail for suicide attempts. i for one have seen a lot of deaths in our community, and the common factor among these is they couldn't cope up with a break up. are we talking about the same kind of suicide? i mean like the ones you put a gun over your head and pull the trigger or slash your pulse kind of suicide? i don't think smoking is by any form of suicide. it's a habit. but i do agree that a person has his rights because it's his body, but it doesn't mean he can just abuse it, what more destroy it. tsk. so you mean if someone attempts suicide and fails, you're going to blame him? that's rubbish. you're just making things complicated than it already is. blaming someone for taking his own life isn't a solution to the person's problem. i thought you're gonna help them? true the family kinda has a responsibility for the actions especially the parents. but blaming doesn't really help.

easier said than done well, at least you've given up smoking which is a good start. if your sheer determination has helped you in overcoming that habit, then i guess losing weight would be a bit easier, or at least getting into a plan. about food intake, the only thing that i was able to do, which worked out for me was to trim my meals. trim meaning, decrease the amount of food that i take. at first i've cut down the rice (rice is a staple food in our country, and that's carbohydrates, so whatever carbohydrates you take, you have to cut some). i usually eat at most 2 to 3 cups per meal, usually even more when the dish is very delicious. but during the holidays (of all the events... usually people are fattening themselves up during the holidays, but yeah i was able to do this routine during the holidays), i started off by cutting my rice/carbohydrate intake from 2-3 cups down to 1 cup per meal. and within a week, i was able to cut it down to just 2 tablespoons of rice. the dish, however stayed the same amount. one serving of a dish usually constitute around 1 small plate (5-6 inches in diameter), with either fish, pork or chicken. i don't eat beef anymore because i usualy find it hard to eat beef because it gets stuck in my teeth with is so painful most of the time. i usually eat fish, and a bit of pork or chicken. during the holidays, for some unknown reason, i had a disgust over meat, so i had a meat-free christmas. this also helped me cut down more of my food intake, since most of the dishes were meat, and i only resort to fish. needless to say, i ate less than the usual. at the end of the year, i was only eating fish and veggies and no rice at all. for what it's worth, eating fruits helps a lot. bananas give me that full-stomach feeling so after a light meal, i eat at least one banana. but i think any fruit will do. i can't give you any advice on exercise because i also gather info on that one so i could lose more weight. you might want to ask yratorm, lightmage for some tips. he's a resident expert when it comes to getting fit. he actually has some threads for exercises.. basically, getting fit. and if you have enough money, maybe signing up on a nearby gym would help.

Found This Interesting, Blind People Cannot See Dreams
master_bacarra replied to Saint_Michael's topic in General Discussion
who says people don't dream? a person dreams almost every sleep. a dream occurs during the last few parts of sleep, but not everyone remembers the dream thus they assume that they have not dreamt at all.with regards to the topic, even if a person is blind, the part of the brain that doesn't function anymore is taken over by other senses, thus blind people have heightened hearing, smelling, or touching. that part of the brain doesn't really go to waste. and through the other senses, a blind person can describe something or someone perhaps using his other senses. so it doesn't really necessarily mean that they have lost their sight, so they can't see their dreams.with regards to the other senses in dreams, yes it does happen. but it's more like the brain doing all the stuff. dreaming of smelling a garden of flowers would probably be the work of the brain "thinking" that you're in a real garden. hearing and touching can also occur. thus when a person remembers a dream, he remembers it more clearly with the help of the other senses that he experiences during the dream. which goes back to the topic of whether a blind sees his own dream, which also goes back to my explanation. -
Found This Interesting, Blind People Cannot See Dreams
master_bacarra replied to Saint_Michael's topic in General Discussion
actually that assumes the idea that the blind person was blind since birth. not all blind people happen to be blind since the day they were born, so you could say that it doesn't apply to all.what's more interesting, rather is if a person dreams in color. or does his other senses work in a dream, like smelling something in a dream. -
hmm... yeah, i noticed that one recently. people at home probably think i'm depressed or something because i barely eat much over the past month. lol. it's actually something that would challenge my eating skills (lol, for lack of a better term). i've also read about that, and my only concern was that most of the foods mentioned are those that i usually take in, like spicy foods and especially tea i love tea but i had to give that up. actually when the year started i haven't bought tea yet and i realized it's actually easy to not to take those kinds of stuff. that goes with spicy foods as well. i know. usually i'd complain but then i've been there for like 5 years now and who's complaining? lol. thanks a lot again for the advice. i'm sure to take those pointers in mind. i actually realized that it's not really that hard to change my lifestyle as long as i'm up to it. and it's fun to. and just to realize that a lot of things have changed, gives me that much motivation to go through with it. thanks again!

I Am Scientist And I Believe In God Believer Scientists
master_bacarra replied to kasm's topic in General Discussion
i am also intrigued. i believe i need to hear an explanation of that quote from a devout christian's point of view. i feel like there is some sort of loophole to that and about what god's functions and abilities. -
i'm touched. hehe. thanks! anyway, yeah, the idea of splitting the meals into smaller meals seem difficult. but i think it would help me a lot because i've recently cut down my "major" meals from three times a day to two times a day. the only thing i need to do is packing things that would help me a lot with splitting the meals into smaller snacks (for a proper term). and since we're into that. does the stomach size (eventually?) adjust to the amount of food you take in? i mean, i've recently discovered, after cutting down my meals for some time, and during the holidays, i've eaten more than the usual meal that i took before and i've experienced heartburn because of that. this may be off topic but since it's all about food intake and metabolism, i think there's some sort of connection. and does having a workout increase your metabolism as well? i admit i don't have that much time when it comes to doing some exercise, but does walking count as an exercise. i mean, our campus is a huge one and in order to get to a next class, i need to walk from building to building. that's what i usually consider as my regular "workout". i do however do biking once in a while (like once or twice a week, if i feel like it). my doctor told me i can't do much of the high-impact exercises for it would have a lot of bad effect on my knees because of my weight so i should stick to biking or swimming. the reason why i asked that was if i know that working out/exercise increases your metabolism, i do feel like i would appreciate doing it more.

hmm... it's either they're trying to deny the fact that the connection had gone berserk, or they're trying not to make their customers panic, which already happened so they're probably resorting to the former. anyway, the downtime started on December 27, 11 am to be exact. i know because i was online at that time then all of the sudden the connection was gone. i got the confirmation from the news. the connection was partially restored i think the following day for some time then got disconnected again, thus being intermittent. i got it from some blog where i was trying to look for my avatar pic.

How Did You Chose Your Trap17 Forum Name?
master_bacarra replied to Hadi's topic in General Discussion
well, my forum name is my online nickname (duh). it's in my trap account and i use it here. it doesn't have a deeper meaning of some sort... or at least that's what i think it is. bacarra is a fictional character from my favorite tv show, charmed. he's one of the villains that fought the charmed ones. as for the 'm', well it's short for "master" thus m bacarra = master bacarra. that's all.oh and another one. bacarra is also a town in one of the provinces here in our country. -
actually, it's already in the news, so there's not really any OTHER speculations.... or rather, it's not supposed to be a speculation of some sort. it IS confirmed already. i've already said it in my previous reply. i've mentioned that i'm also from the same country so i also experienced the intermittent connection. before the connection had the problem, i can surf perfectly fine, and i can even download so much using torrents. but after the problem, i could barely download a file... or at least when the problem had just happened.
-
wow, you actually posted one. i assumed you were able to see my post in the other thread. thanks! i'll keep this one in mind.oh.. and just a question. you mentioned that in order to increase my metabolism, i should eat several meals a day. but you didn't mention the kind of meals to be taken on those times. i might be accused of overeating if that's what you're trying to point out.
-
hmmm... didn't you hear the news? you're also from the philippines, and the news said that the internet connection will be intermittent for some time (let's hope it's not too long). the problem was caused by the recent earthquake in taiwan last december and the lines that connect our internet (and apparently, the telephone system as well) got damaged. for optic fibers, i think the restoration would probably be expensive and it would take some time, given the fact that the country was hit by the earthquake.so i guess that answers your question. i'm assuming you have DSL, from the description you have given.

hmm... one year in trap and i haven't really known much of the people here. that's the reason why i'm having second thoughts in voting.

New Hosting Place *VU* virtually unlimited
master_bacarra replied to MusicOnly's topic in Websites and Web Designing
that seems promising, but i am really fond of trap, and i don't see myself changing hosts for quite a few years. and i'd probably shift to paid hosting once i get my own money and pay my own bills. gahd, i'm suddenly longing for independence! just as the same, trap's really giving me a nice time, especially here in the forums... you, know... i get to bash some people as discreetly as possible so i won't get a warning. okay i was just kidding with the bashing thingy... -
I Am Scientist And I Believe In God Believer Scientists
master_bacarra replied to kasm's topic in General Discussion
oh sorry. it's just that the post is sooo long, that i was reading too fast and i missed the important notes hidden in between lines. evolution theories doesn't directly explain how these glands came to be, but as part of the evolutionary process, when a creature evolves to a higher form, it is able to adopt to its environment. to do this, the creature's body processes are affected by the chemicals secreted by these glands. so one can say that these glands have, in some way, affect a creature's existence and it's evolution through time. ah yes, i get your point. that because of God and his power, he is able to do such miracles. i get it and i respect your opinion. to each is his own. that's why i also mentioned my opinion, which may be about evolution, by my point was trying to explain in scientifically, and of course, my opinion about religion.
