If anything, you should (and i say should, because with 1&1 you can't change both) be able to modify all of the records associated with your domain.

Can't "manage" Domain Searched and Doesnt Appear
michaelper22 replied to CinnamorollTK's topic in Web Hosting Support
In that case, contact OpaQue by PM, or send an email to Xisto - Web Hosting's support email address. -
Windows Vista (build 5308) What is happening to Windows ?...
michaelper22 replied to adriantc's topic in Software
In my house we generally don't buy computers with very new operating systems (only one exception). I got my XP machine in 2005 - that shows it. I don't think I will see Vista on a desktop in my house for quite a while, especially since my father probably isn't ready to support it. I sort of like Aero Glass, but really - how does it improve the way you work (or play, in which case it may do more harm than good) on your machine? -
I am looking to switch to Xisto - Web Hosting, because I maintain a web site for my school and my dad will kill me if it goes bye-bye in the summer (when I am in camp). I heard the following things:1) I can have my account here upgraded to a paid Xisto - Web Hosting plan from my original Xisto free plan.2) I could have my account switched to the dedicated Xisto - Web Hosting server. And I have the following questions:1) Are the above 'hearings' valid?2) Will all of my addon domains remain as is?3) In general and follow-up to question 2: Do I have to change my nameserver if my account is only upgraded, and not moved to the dedicated paid hosting server?4) How can I request an account upgrade to a paid plan? Notice from mayank: Moved from hosted members area

What Are Your Grades? Post them here
michaelper22 replied to Albus Dumbledore's topic in General Discussion
My grades: Most of the grades are considered very acceptable as you see, and they are all better than the last two years. I have yet to see my spring grades (the third marking period). -
How is Xisto cheating people of their money when it is FREE web hosting? What does a reseller program have to do with this? I suggest you ask some people more personally about the service here.

Hackers Get Mac Running Windows and Apple thought it cant be done...
michaelper22 replied to serverph's topic in Software
I also should mention that Mac OS is UNIX based, and that's probably what I meant by hardcore. If you know UNIX well, then you can get a lot done. I saw an ad in PC World for a Mac, and on the screen it showed a command line, the type that UNIX systems look like. -
It was for a reason. I didn't see that post, but if it included any language, was posted in the wrong section (in which case it may have have been moved), found to be degrading to the forum, or any other reason that the moderators and/or admins felt it should be removed, it may have been deleted.

As far as I (and everyone else) can tell, your domain needs to be linked to a nameserver. This provides any browsers accessing the domain with the IP address of the site it leads to. I don't know exactly how to do all of this, but if you use Linux, then you can use the Bind DNS server package (included in many slightly adanced distros, downloadable for free).

Hackers Get Mac Running Windows and Apple thought it cant be done...
michaelper22 replied to serverph's topic in Software
There are plenty of hardcore Mac users out there. Macs are better for graphics stuff, like image editing, movie editing, and stuff like that. I can't tell you how many times I've seen a graphics tip on The Screen Savers (on TechTV) demonstrated on a Mac. -
If I'm using the admin console of Mambo, or the rest of my site for the matter, I experince really long page load times. I click on a link, wait, see some life (the banner at the top of the Mambo admin console shows up), wait some more, see some stuff from the page load, and wait again until it's all finished. So is this a problem with MySQL, some other service, a problem with Gamma, or with Verizon DSL (which I use)?

I never actually heard of that domain until now, but it sounds a little funny. When I noticed this topic, I thought that it was someone else's site, but OpaQue, you came up with a pretty creative domain name there. Trapped (for Xisto) in s*** (for all of the crazy things that go on in our lives) - sounds good to me!

I agree wth most of the replies here, what's the point of installing Window$ on a Mac, when it's easier (and possibly more economical, but defenitely more reliable) to just buy a box with Windows on it already? If I wanted to use Mac OS X and Window$ XP, I would put in the money (if I had any ) for both platforms on seperate machines. I saw a thing on ZDNet UK about how they got an OS X for Pentium Beta working on a windows machine. Unfortunately, I don't have a link for you, but with some clever searching, you should be able to find it on that site. -
I think that it is some Web programming thing. I know that it's been used on some big name web sites, including HPShopping.com (look carefully in your address bar on any page other than the home page; example, click the Notebooks link, and look in your address bar). I don't know what language or technology uses this, but one thing's for sure: it's an enterprise grade framework.

Unlimited Webhosting At Trap17? A reality or a dream???
michaelper22 replied to keysmaker's topic in Web Hosting Support
If only this were a reality - I have the same problem. I don't know wehn it started, but as of now (Sunday, March 19 at 9:29 PM Eastern Standard Time), I have unlimited space too. I don't know what on earth is going on with Gamma, but I will avoid getting into trouble nd I'm sure OpaQue will either do something about it, or tell us anything we should know so that we don't get screwed over when it's fixed. -
Went Skiing Again! Even bigger success
michaelper22 replied to michaelper22's topic in General Discussion
Nope, i never heard of it, but I'm guessing that instead of doing the V-way or pizza or whtever you call the thing, you make a quick turn to be parallel to the mountain and end up scraping off some snow? Something like that? (Tell me if I confused you.)I will never give up on skiing; if I had to get my lazy behind away from the computer and do any outdoor activity of my choice, skiing would be #1 (evn higher) on the list. I love skiing, and I will impatiently wait until next winter to go again. Any way, Camelback's last day of operation (only weekend) is either this Sunday (today, as I write this post; they don't have night skiing anymore, so they are closed now), or next Sunday, to be decided by like Wednesday. -
I sort of aggree with you. Everyone is like, "My friend got one, so I have to be part of the trend. I want an iPod!" If you ask me, I would not buy an iPod. I think that they aren't good value. You can get other players that either do more or hold more for less, the same, or not much more than the iPod. I also don't like the restriction to the iTunes Music Store, as well as iTunes itself. My Sandisk 512 MB MP3 player is also an FM radio and a voice recorder. It costs around $90. The iPod Shuffle, on the other hand, costs $99, and only plays music, and doesn't have a screen (but it does support playlists, which my Sandisk doesn't). My friend just got this Archos portable DVR thing, which plays music, photos, and movies, and you can even record from a TV (try that with the video iPod). Sure it costs more, but it's a much greater value.

Most of the stuff you see is made by the template's developer. All I did was remove a couple of things that were messing up the layout of the page (as it appeared on my screen, which has a 1024 x 1600 resolution). I did not make that 'grass fields' image, nor any of the styling of the menus, etc. But thanks for your compliment anyways!

I saw that blogjet program once, and when I saw that it wasn't free, I i mmediately left the site. It looked pretty impressive though, working with about 15 blogging services / tools.
