  1. I don't really want to be mean, but you obviously don't really care about your studies. My dad keeps on telling me about how getting good grades feels good. And after two years of keeping the chair warm (an expression meaning "doing no work"), I do feel good about getting mostly in the 90's on my report card. Doing homework is basically the thing that keeps our minds going. If you don't complete your homework, then you might just have trouble doing classwork too (for example, if you don't read a book or play at home, then you probably won't be able to do a worksheet on it in class).
  2. My school is not up to the technological advancement of being able to recieve homework by email. And anyway, the assignment is to write the journal in a specially designated marble hardcover notebook, so almost by definition, it can't be done on the computer. And we also don't have "pigeon holes" in the office, as opposed to my elementary school.
  3. Well, the fact that he addresed you as Albus Dumbledore (which I think I know for a fact isn't your real name) surely tells you that this meassge is spam. Or maybe not. But if I got a message like that, my next two clicks would be the checkbox next to the email in my inbos, and the Report Spam button. Some people are really bored, and have nothing else to do with their lives, so they just hit up other people with scams like this.
  4. As most of the above replies highlighted, PHP and ASP.Net wok very differently, and there fore you can't really make an ASP.Net web form in any PHP equivalent. PHP is a somewhat simple scripting language, while ASP.Net is an enterprise grade Web applications platform.
  5. The key to a good ranking is good content. There is little point in getting indexed if your site has nothing to index. Trust me on this, I've had sites that were "under construction" (and still do) and they didn't have anyy content on them, and even after submitting them, they didn't get indexed. For example, my site gets a bunch of hits every now and then from Google, because I have some decent content. I still should work on the meta tags a little bit at least.
  6. I barely passed English the last two years - and it was my fault. I refused to do work. I got 65's across the board (in my elementary school, which I have graduated from since, thank G-d, 65 is the passing line) in English. The teacher is very good - and now that I am in high school, where I need to turn my brains on - I am doing much better.
  7. Many 'real' developers use industrial stregnth tools such as Macromedia Dreamweaver, and Microsoft Frontpage or Visual Studio .Net. Personally, I don't really use an editor, but when I need to fix up something quickly, I use PHP Designer 2005 (from http://www.mpsoftware.dk/phpdesigner.php), which sports code highlighting, HTML tag, CSS style and PHP function references, and a built in FTP client (which is crude but effective). I do find Visual Web Developer Express Edition a decent product, but it's only really of use if you are an ASP.Net developer. It's too big overall if you just need HTML editing.
  8. It seems that you have it backwards. In NYC, buses and subways are incredibly boring. I was just sitting on the bus and subway the whole time, not reading or even just listening to music. And I'm not really the very social type, I just like to get where I'm going without any unnecessary delays (including walking behind other people who walk incredibly slow, as has happened before).
  9. Well, I didn't just go to the orthodontist, I also went to my grandfather's office in Manhattan to help him with something on the computer (he's not very computer literate). That adds a lot to the trip. Also, I ws describing the trip in great detail, I could have just wrote that I spent forever on the bus and subway and what routes/trains I took.
  10. I'm new to the business of making sigs, but here's my first addition to the market. I made it using a photo I got off the Net, and I used a pattern (the lighter blue one in the middle) from http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. I feel so accomplished by having done this.
  11. I looked at the bottom of the forum home page, and saw that it's TrueFusion's Birthday! I am mentioning this because TrueFusion is such a great guy, making all out=r sigs, and generally contributing to the community! So enjoy the gifts, and go get your self a nice haircut (that was random). Anyway happy birthday!
  12. That is true, but NDPA wanted to know whether he could use it, so my reply above gave him the answer. I don't really have anything more to say on this aside from the fact that IPS has good, fast support.
  13. NDPA, I sent an email to Invision Power Services, asking them whether you are allowed to use IPB 1.3. Here is my original message: Here is thier response: So apparently, you are allowed to use IPB 1.3 after all.
  14. Well, you know what, if you feel that you don't like our services, then go elsewhere. It's that simple. The credit system here is EXTREMLY fair. Some users may have difficulty posting here due to their lifestyle or own abilities, but the system in incredibly fair. I thank OpaQue so much for it. If you think Clubhost City is better, then just stay there. Also, advertising on this forum is against the rules, so you might want to edit that post.
  15. OK Here's my story of today. I needed to go to the orthodontist (G-d bless the fragile and annoying minds of the people who work there), which is a shlep and a half to get there, and my grandfater's office, which is in Midtown Manhattan. My dad leant me his Unlimited Ride MetroCard (see http://web.mta.info/metrocard/ for more on that), which I thought expired today (meaning that I could use it today), but found out that it expired yesterday while on the Q46, when I put it in the fare box, and got the low-toned beep, the red LED and some message telling me that it didn't work). So I used my MetroCard. The Q46 ride went smoothly, and I even got a recording of the ride (I'm known in the bus geek community for recording beses A LOT). I got off at Francis Lewis Boulevard, and waited somewhere around 10 minutes for the Q76, which got me one block from the orthodontist, at Willets Point Boulevard (I could have gotten off the bus one block later, and been right in front of the building). I spent less than 10 minutes in the office, all they needed to do was adjust something. So I waited for the Q76 back to Union Turnpike (which the Q46 runs on), and got one within 5 minutes or so. That ride took forever, just as the ride there did. When I got to union Turnpike, there were no buses in sight, so I waited (don't remember how long). Eventually, the Q46, destined for Queens Blvd. (where the subway station is) came, I managed to find a seat, and was boiling hot for most of the ride. For the subway, I got the F train, which doesn't involve a transfer to get where I was going. I took that straight into Manhattan, got off at 34th street, and walked over to the office. I had chicken fingers for lunch at the reaturant Me@t Circa (really Meat at Circa; the brother of the dairy Circa across the street). On the way back, I took the 6 and E tains to make it back into Queens. That ride also took the normal time (about 35-45 minutes). The Q46 home was waiting there for me (and it was even a hybrid, oh boy!). I ended up standing for the whole ride. I'm sorry I posted this but I need to get my life stories out to someone. My main pooints here: -Buses are slow[er than subways] -Midtown and Whitestone are too far from ach other, and take forever to travel between. Just remember: Hybrid buses rule!
  16. For those of you who live in NYC, The MTA/City has (almost I think) finished acquiring all of the private bus lines in the city (Green Lines, Command, New York Bus Service, Jamaica Bus, and a couple others). Supossedly this will bring more reliable service to the riders of several dozen NYC bus routes (yes, Q10 included), along with fare increases and new buses (eventually). But this doesn't really affect me since most of the action happened after I graduated from elementary school, when I had to take the acursed Q10. Hopefully one of these days, I hope Kenedy Depot (formerly Green Lines) will get some brand new Orion VII hybrids.
  17. If the whole page is in a div tag, then add the following CSS style to it: text-align: center; This is assuming that the page has a preset width. Or try this: <div style="text-align: center;">PAGE CONTENT HERE</div>That will center anything within the <div> tag.
  18. For those of you who understand Judaism, a man was selling his Chametz of Ebay for 15 dollars. Any good Jew will get a good laugh out of that. You even get a candle thrown in for free! And maybe a feather while their at it.
  19. You may have to wait a maximum of 24-72 hours for the DNS record (aka your domain) to propogate around the net. For my domain it took a few hours. Results vary.(Side effects may include broken keyboards, smashed monitors and crashed hard drives ).Try it again tomorrow. It should work by then if what I'm suggesting is the problem.
  20. The theme supossedly is called Royale, is included in windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, and can be easily downloaded off the Net. I even have it, so obviosly it's not a huge secret (anymore).
  21. As far as I know, the purpose of the TPM chips are to enhance security, not enable full control of our PCs by the software companies. But I just hope that my 2005 HP isn't affected by the TPM chip. The chances of this machine getting Vista is slim to none, as my father likes to wait a very long time before upgrading our technology in this house.
  22. I'm with several others here on WordPress. It's free, open-source, and has a decent community. Supposedly it is XHTML compliant, but I tried validating my blog (see my sig for link) and got a bunch of errors. However, the administraion interface is nice and easy to use.
  23. Based on your analysis, how can I fix this? I'm guessing that I should add a couple of style rules to the CSS file, specifying that there should be no padding on all four sides. Gotta figure out which rules those are; I'll take a trip back to W3Schools.com for that.
  24. If you use IE (aka Internet Exploder ), then you will see a whitespace equal to the height of the header image. I have no clue of how to fix it. I even looked in the CSS for any hints, to no avail. If you have any idea on how to fix it, then please either PM me or post the possible fix here.
  25. Major updates: I changed the header image to a homemade one (special thanks to ME ). I played around with the CSS a little for the pathway link, and also fixed some field width problems in the forum settings profile tab (if you are registered). I added the zOOm Gallery and MamBlog components, these are soley for your entertainment. I also should mention that I would like more members, so if you have a moment, drop by the site @ http://nyceducated.info/
