Also to slow it down I think he might have used a "buffer overflow" or somethign like that I'm not really sure...But if hes taking your bandwitdh thent hats why it's going so slow...But I can take a look at whats going on...And what the other people int his forum are trying to ask is if your friend hosts his website on his computer or does he have some free website hosting thing on the net...Cuz if it's freewebhosting on the net then chances are that it's apache and he might be using a program called "brute forcer" yeah...thats quit the good program for that kinda stuff...I suggest you tell yourf riend to make a backup of his database RIGHT NOW...Then secondly post the link to your website here and I or another member/mod/admin will most likely look into it for you...A good way to get better protection would be to switch your webhosting to Xisto...as opqaue said we are quite protected and if you have a mysql backup of the forum and you copy all the files used to make that forum down...I may be able to get it running on Xisto... Just pm me for help...And read our free webhosting plan...It is very reliable and hasn't been hacked into for as long as I've been here and ever before that from what I have read and heard.But please also post more info on the problem and the link would be quite handy...thnx

Yes you are aloud to have ads on your website...But be advised...Do not make a website souly for advertising...That will eat up bandwidth, and slow down the server maybe...You maybe put a few ads on your website....But make sure you have actual content ont he pages to...Because that would not only brake the adverts agreement but it would be a complete waste of Xisto's space

Well to do a dual boot of two different windows os' I'm pretty sure you'd have to reformat first....I dunno if you look inside your windows help program in start menu and look it up it gives a pretty detailed tutorial...Or atleast thats what I remember from when I was reading over that

A old school way to partion things that works well but I don't think I would recommend since you all have those programs is to just use a windows 98 boot disk lol....It worked very good for me and it was quite easy to use lol...But I've read all the posts and it seems partion magick or w.e would be the best program to use..... Yes...there no problem at all...IE works perfectly....N is most compatible with web pages...You just gotta check off the view buttons inside view for toolbars statusbar n explorer bars

Ok...First of all if mysql isn't working obviously PHPMYADMIN isn't going to work considering it needs mysql to work properly....Second of all Xisto has been experiencing some spikes inside mysql...Don't worry about it it normaly fixes itself within a certain amount of time...And for the cpanel well thats probably just because to many people are logging in at once? I'm not sure but that seems that that would be a logical cause

Well...The clicking issue isn't a big thing...Because my community is goign to be composed principaly of people I know, from my school, in the area...So they wouldn't mind clicking each banner once a day or twice...But meh...I know there ages are from 14-18 if thats any help

I gotta say right now...Go topologilinux!!!! I dunno if it will run with amd64 but it gives you so many different boot logins within linux n it has dual boot so u don't need to delete windows xp n theres no need to partion...It is ideal if u have ntfs drives though

Ack....Php = 100 times better then html....Html is the begining of the net...N then comes php...Php helps do thigns with tasks n stuff and thats how forums work....It's a lot more complicated but a lot more powerfull...Takes a long time to learn...(I'm learning slowly cuz I have millions of things going on) but it is so worth it...N the up side is there a tons of pre made php scripts...Like this forum was pre made n then the admins programmed it....N to your question about what are all the things mentioned in Xisto hosting...Well for now you should only be concerned about webspace bandwidth...E-mail stuff and subdomains... Everything else doesn't apply to you because you don't really know it... But fantisco or w.e is a way good added bonus for you considering it comes with tons of pre made php scripts that self install...Quite simple to configure once installed...So yeah...Astahost is good on space and bandwitdh compared to almost all other free hosts...So I recommend putting the time and effort into it!

LOL....I don't know how accurately accurate what you said was man... My mom uses AOL all the time!!! She doesn't even know anythign about the internet at all... She doesn't know what a web browser is...She thinks aol is the onmly possible way to surf the net...So we keep aol around just for her...Aol does have some nice features though...But aol is mainly for the people who know the least about the net and are most likely to spend their money on some crazy scam... Thankfully we only pay 3$ a month for aol cuz of my dads work...N it lets us connect through my high speed network instead of that dial up ****... All in all though aol is just another company that thinks flashyness is greatness... WAY WAY WAY to expensive just for dial up to...But they do give it away for free on cds all the time so meh...
