  1. Here's a site that provides definitions to terms and acronyms of everything related to the web. The site's name is Webopedia: an online dictionary and search engine for computer and internet technology definitions. Dunno if you guys heard of it before or know about it. Anyways, that's where i lookup web terms and acronyms if i don't know 'em.
  2. I just checked it out and i think it works very well. I only tried a couple languages and so far the translations are correct. This site is very handy. Thanks for sharing with us this page. Im goin back and learn a few more words in French. Hehe.
  3. If you have any P2P programs like Kazaa, you can always look for Adobe Photoshop and download it there. But if you want a legal copy, then it's really gonna cost you alot. Some softwares have free alternatives, but nothing comes close to Photoshop so it either you get a buy a legal copy or get a bootleg version.
  4. Hmm..this is definitely a very handy tool for us who share files and upload/download files alot. You can send a whole playlist of songs or movies with this. Hehehe. Thanks again deivid for sharing with us this information. Im gonna try it out now.
  5. You can use other P2P programs for free. You don't have to buy a program to download files in P2P networks. If you want a spyware, adware, trojan, worm & virus free program there's an alternative in Kazaa Lite or Kazaa Lite Resurrection. It works exactly the same as a regular Kazaa. Like the saying goes, "The best things in life are free". Hehe.
  6. That happened to me once. I was checking my bulk mail folder in Yahoo mail and saw that one of the emails was from a friend of mine. I haven't received an email from that person before so there was no way for me to have blacklisted the address or categorized it as spam. However, the email had an attachment. I guess Yahoo considered it as spam and diverted it to the bulk mail folder.
  7. Just wondering which search engine do you guys use for research or plainly looking up something in the web. Google? Yahoo? Lycos? Hotbot? Dogpile? Or do you know of any other search engine in the web, share it with us. I used to go with Yahoo or Lycos. Now, i just Google.
  8. Google is not a browser. I think you mean search engines, like Yahoo, Lycos, Hotbot & Dogpile. I think most if not all search engines let's you submit your site but some sites charge you for that. Go to their respective sites and check out the "Submit your site" page and read the requirements.
  9. Your request to be hosted in Xisto was denied because you didn't follow the rules for this forum. You made several posts that you copy + paste from different sites and most of your posts here are only one liners and that is considered spamming. Read first the rules for this forum and try making decent posts.
  10. My pc is running on Windows XP Professional SP2. I've been using it for less than a year. So far, i have no problems with it and everything is running smoothly. I used Windows 98 SE for a long time before i switched to XP. Never liked Windows ME, it sucks!
  11. What i meant was, you don't want them to know what your internet activities are, that's why you want to be anonymous. Yeah they can see what you're browsing but if you use a proxy and your IP address is masked then they can't pinpoint which machine/computer it is, right? Or am i wrong again? Hehehe.
  12. I also have problems viewing some websites, but this is because the web programmers made that site to comply with IE's standards and not with the W3 (World Wide Web Consortium) standards. Mozilla Firefox conformes to W3 standards. You should try Thunderbird, its a very good program to compliment your Firefox. Thunderbird has a very good and intelligent junk mail filter.
  13. If you install Mozilla Firefox, you really should install Flash, Shockwave, Java, etc. But is it really a big deal? With Firefox you get a fast, stable and most importantly, a secure browser. Once you have theses things installed, im sure you'll be happy you switched to Firefox. Note: Mozilla Firefox users are advised to switch to Firefox Preview Release because Firefox 0.8 and Firefox 0.9.x suffer from a flaw in downloading which could lead to lost data. Read more about it https://blog.mozilla.org/press/2004/10/important-security-update-for-firefox-available/ '>here
  14. Wow! This is so cool! When i first read this article i thought it was a scam or a bogus site but after i checked it out, it was for real. Im trying to locate my house right now. It's quite complicated. Hehe Thanks deivid for sharing with us this site.
  15. Hahaha..this is a good idea! You can ask a friend who has PSP or Photoshop to do it for you or ask somebody in this forum to help you out. You can email them the image and tell them where you want the effect to be placed. *mrc : please read the rules for posting. posts that are less than 3 lines are considered spam in this forum. better be careful, just a friendly reminder.
