Do a lot of what? Everything? Or just one of the "sports?" I don't know about Bowling not being considered a sport. I mean, if Archery gets to be considered a "sport" why not Bowling? They're the same (or very similar). They both require accuracy, and they both require the physical motion of moving the arm. Why archery and not bowling then, huh? While archery might be initially used for hunting and bowling may not (you can't "bowl" an animal to death of course, as they will probably run away before the ball reaches them and the dirt ground that will most likely be filled with grass and shrubs and trees and other plants will most likely block the ball's path), bowling is just a variation of practicing the accuracy component of "hunting" (read my previous post on this matter) and should be considered a sport in my opinion. If bowling isn't to be considered a sport, then neither should archery or dart-throwing. Horse-riding may be considered differently as the horse DO do sweat and get exhausted (as well as their riders), and yoga slash pilates should be considered as just excercise and not actual "sport" itself. But then... don't the "warmups" that you do before you do proper "sport" be considered as sport as well? So in general, excercise is also the same as "sport".

This is exactly what I feel... If I had to choose though, if I really had to choose, I would rather die peacefully in my sleep and I would prefer not to die in a car crash or a heart attack or something. But then, what makes a person dead anyway? Why are they alive this one millisecond and "dead" the next? What is the meaning of this? Personally, I don't think you can die. I mean, you CAN die physically, but not mentally. This can be seen with the "ghosts" and "poltergeists" that people see. The impression of a spirit (most of the time a RESTLESS spirit) is so strong that it leaves an imprint in the fabric of space-time is an example of this. We will still be here, but just not physically here. Empty air is more of what I'm talking about. But anyway... Why do you want to choose how you want to die anyway? To me, I think that it is the best to just go with the flow, close your eyes, and trusts where the river flows and follow it. Or you can make the river God if you're religious. It's the same thing anyway. Just ignore everything, live your life in the present and trust that everything will unravel when time allows it to be.

You have a warn log? You've only have 15 posts... and you've got -110. something myCENTS!!! What happened with your account???

I must say... I really don't know why your site was rejected from Yahoo! I mean, it's all good and everything... I can see that your site is about global warming, and I find nothing wrong with that, so I must say I really don't know what to say to you. Maybe it's because your site doesn't look too professional, but I think that this shouldn't be right, as many other sites don't look half as good as yours and they are still listed on Yahoo! Try sending in a mail and ask them what you did wrong if that is possible, or ask around and see what replies and support that you can receive.

Ah... wow, I never knew there was a Team Viewer option... you have to be in a team to have this, right? And yeah, I agree with the mistakes bit. You have to fall down first, or you will not be able to learn how to stand up on your two feet again.

Hello xuan,Glad that you've decided to join after all!!! It's not that hard to post... once or twice a week is enough, as long as you can get enough money to host your site...And I'm glad that you've been seeing Xisto everywhere in your search for a free hosting site too!!! This means that our attempts to broaden our subjects and everything to attract members from everywhere IS working after all!!!I'm sure you will find that Xisto.com has a lot of friendly members willing to help you as you build your website, and I think we do learn from each other (or more of me learning from the more advanced web programmer and coders on this site).I see that you still haven't gotten your myCENTS thing under your name... you should go and subscribe at Xisto's Support and Billing System first (first things first!), so you can have your own Client Area. If you don't sign up, you will not be able to get your free hosting, as we will not be able to record your posts and give you money and myCENTS in return for it!!! When you sign up, you will have a myCENTS thing under your name (like under mine) as well as an Earned thing under your name too, but only you can see your Earned amount (apart from moderators and admins)Once your registration order has been processed (takes around a few hours), you can get started! You will be able to see a myCENTS thing under your name on the forums of Xisto once your order has been processed, like what most of the members and posters here have (I have one under my name too, so you can see what I mean). Every 100 myCENTS is equivalent to one USD (US dollar). To earn myCENTS, all you have to do is to post on this forums. The bigger and longer your thread or post is, the more you earn. So, basically, it is a free service would otherwise be NOT free (paid) that only requires you to post here every so often. And it doesn't have to be a lot. Just once or twice a day would be fine.Remember to read the forum rules though, as you can get negative myCENTS if your thread is edited, moved or deleted by staff, but that's rare.Anyhow, feel free to browse around and learn more about this site. It is an easy way to learn more money while learning to build your own site!!!Hope you will come to like and love this site as much as I do,Nameless_But anyway, I'm very glad that you have joined!!! Good luck and enjoy your free hosting!!!

If this is what you really think, then these other "sports" will then not be considered as a sport in your definition... Archery Horse-Riding (The horse is running, not you) Yoga/Pilates??? (I don't think it is counted as a sport in the first place, but anyway...) Fishing Bowling But I don't really know what the definition of "sport" really is, as it is a broad term with many variations on it's exact meaning. I mean, what does good-sport mean? It means that you don't really mind when you lose, or it could also mean other things. But generally, it's definition is generally accepted as a competitive activity that requires physical movement. But OK, let's choose Dart. What does Dart have that is different from Flower Arranging? They both use arms, they both require minimum physical movement. What makes "Dart" a sport and Flower Arrangement NOT one? Well, here a a few things that I would like to point out: 1) Dart can be competitive. While it can also be a leisure activity like Flower Arranging, it can also be used as a competition game thing while Flower Arranging can NOT... I mean, have you seen any Flower Arranging competitions lately, if any at all? I think not. So, that's my first point. 2) OK... now let's compare Archery and Dart. What do THEY have in common? Well, I must say that Archery requires more physical strength than Dart, but just like what your definition said, it does not give you sweat (maybe cold sweat from nervousness, but you get that in Dart too...) or makes you have exhaustion, but they apart from that, Dart and Archery requires accuracy. So, the more refined definition os sport will be anything that requires HUNTING skills. So... let's go back into the ancient times. What do people used to do? Well, I'm not sexist or anything, but women would do household activities, like clean up, cook and raise their children and offspring, and men would hunt and care for the family by protecting them from wild predators and beasts by killing them and giving the tribe and family food. Now, what do we associate the term "sport" with? Men activities or female activities? Well, obviously men ones. So, we can safely say that the term "sport" is related and associated with what the male part of the population used to do... hunting. And what does hunting require? Let's list them out (feel free to add more in your post if you have anymore categories) - speed (this can be seen in most "sports" like running, cycling, rowing, swimming, horse-riding and so forth) - team work (well, you obviously don't need a team to do flower arranging... you can see this in our modern day "sports" like rugby, soccer, hockey, waterpolo, tennis, netball, volleyball, basketball, rowing... and so on...) - accuracy (like, target practice when they shoot animals. You can find this ability in sports like archery and dart and bowling...) - endurance (you can find this ability and factor of "sports" in marathons, tri-atheletes, and so on...) - strength (you can find this ability in "sports" like weight lifting... - agility (you can find this ability in the "sports" taekwando, judo, boxing and samurai wrestling.) That's all I can think at the moment. But after my analysis, I'm sure most of you agree that the definition of "sport" is any physical activity related to the pre-dominant male activites that they used to do in the old ancient times, maybe even before the Stone Age, where they ("sport") consists of abilities and factors that influence the success of a hunt... In short, it is anything that is related to HUNTING animals for food and for protection of the tribe or family.

Why Am I Born Here? Reasons for not being born somewhere else
Nameless_ replied to heavensounds's topic in General Discussion
The REAL question isn't "Why am I born here?"But "Why am I born?"TO born or not to born, that is the question... hahahahahahahahahaha.Anyway, back to the topic.I don't think there is a reason of why we were born the place where we were born. It's just chance. It's just a coincidence that we are even alive, I think. I mean, why do WE have a conscience that we can think? Shouldn't somebody else have this chance to be able to think, feel and express their emotions? Do inanimate objects even have emotions? They can't see, feel, or express themselves, I don't think they can even think. Well, what makes US able to see, feel and express ourselves? Why are we even here? And Why are we where we are today? This questions is even deeper than the initial "Why were we born the place we were born?" Because it dwells into the mysteries of life. Of what makes life, well... life! Just typing this I feel lucky to be alive, to have a chance to experience what being alive means.Isn't it weird? I mean, human beings, US, spend so much time want and trying to make life from metal. Robots are created to be able to imitate humans, robots are programmed to act like humans, and to be able to express human emotions (sad, happy, angry, etc...) and are able to communicate with them. But what we don't realize is that we ARE creating life. With our sexual reproduction organs we create near similar replicas of ourselves, we make life. But what and who exactly is the life and soul that we have stuff this inanimate object (in this case the human body) when we give birth to new life? Why am I here? What would happen if I was not born? Will I remain forever not able to be alive, not even know that I exist? Do I even exist? We don't even know that. This can all be a dream. Everything. Happiness, Pain, everything that we experience. How do you know who you are? This is so hard, it's getting me SO confused... I really don't know where my trail of thought is taking me. So, why am I born the place I am born? Let me just forget my previous question of why we are born in the first place and answer this one. Well, I don't really know, to tell you the truth. Why? Yeah... why? This is a very good question.IS life just like a line? Is it just like a line up thing? And that if someone decides not to give birth, you will just get transferred into the body of the next new born baby that will be born? Are we just waiting one by one waiting to inhabit the baby body that is next in line to being born? But that means that we will have to have a life before that, meaning that if this theory is the be put in place, then there HAS to be reincarnation. But let's say that there is no line up of souls waiting to be born. Let's say that they (the lives) are created as the babies are born. As they are created. Well then... THIS leads to the question. Why are we born in the first place. THIS, if you follow this trail of thought, will then lead you the the question... why do I have a conscience? Isn't it unfair that other inanimate objects don't have this chance to experience life? Why me? Why not someone else? Do other people even exist? Or is it just me, imagining everyone else, even my mum and dad and family members? This question, this very one question that you have asked (to the first poster) have lead us to new possibilities and more questions. And I don't think that we will ever have all this time to work everything out and answer all the questions that are given to us. So I must say... Just enjoy your life and live in the present!!! You will never ever be able to answer all the universal questions in the world, so you should just ignore everything and go with the flow!!! -
The mods (or should I say, THE mod) has spoken!!! Now it's my turn to post and reply on this matter: Yeah, you're doing a wonderful job with that. I think you're just one of the few active mods actually helping people out. Yeah, I suppose you're right... but has the admins been active lately? Well, I've just checked their profiles of both Opaque and BuffaloHelp, and it seems like Opaque is active, but BuffaloHelp hasn't been on since 2nd August 2009 - 12:23 PM. Is that good or bad? I don't really know, as it's not THAT long, that's just like two weeks or so, but as an admin, shouldn't they be on like, once a week at least? Just my opinion. When I was admin in this other forum, I went on everyday... Yeah, well, while we have an immense number of members, only a handful of them are active, and I must say that most active members have already voted... I think that's a very good point too. I mean, we don't spam that much, and basically no one spams, and do we really need moderators? New moderators will be nice for a change, but we don't really need them at all, do we? It's a want, not a need. Hmm... so we'll just have to wait 'till THEY give their two cents worth (or twenty cents worth, I should say).
-
Aww... is that true? Well, Saint_Michael hasn't been active for a while, and even though I'm a newbie sig maker (I've only start one month ago), I still want to try my hand at it and I consider myself pretty alright as a new sig maker... (I made the one I'm using right now) And I see that most old members have a sort of award thing at the end of their sig. Do you know what you can do to get one of those, or are they now disabled? Yeah, that would be great in my opinion, but wouldn't it be unfair for the people holding the competition? (Unless it's an admin or a mod) I mean, here this person is trying to get more users to join in the Xisto forum community and he/she has to give their own myCENTS to do that, when they don't even have to hold this competition in the first place. Maybe the myCENTS should come from Xisto instead.

Transfer Of Mycents Ability to transfer MyCents
Nameless_ replied to Tramposch's topic in Web Hosting Support
Woohoo!!! Yay! Thanks Tramposch! Well, just like cicala, I don't really understand what "transfer" means, but that's only because I wasn't here when the old system was running and I only cam here after the new system, also known as myCENTS, when it was put in place. But I absolutely agree that it will be a great, actually, make that an excellently wonderfully excellently fabulously great idea to have the graphics community starting up again, and giving myCENTS as the prize. I think that we should try and make the graphics forums active again, just as it used to be, before my time, and have a wonderful forum for newbies that are new to graphics making, oldies that can both help the newbies out and display their works and making tutorials and posting them up for other people so they can give graphics making a shot as well! It's like a design community, and we can attract many designers and graphics makers to this forum, and they will be able to showcase their works, help others out and learn and refine their skills WHILST earning myCENTS to keep up their hosting and they will all have their own sites. Isn't it great! And that's why I voted a very big YES for this. Yeah, just like I said, I don't really understand this too, but I wasn't thinking of Member to Member Transfer. One reason for this is because... well, I mean, wouldn't it be unfair if the person or people hosting the competitions and tournaments having to give out myCENTS and not earning any themselves setting up everything and attracting more visitors to Xisto? I actually think that Xisto should thank them instead, and give myCENTS to them. And this also means that there won't be any Member to Member transfer as it will be unnecessary. Instead, the awards will be given out to the winner(s) from Xisto instead. Also, another reason that I am against Member to member transfer is because it will be easy for existing members and users to set up a new account, SPAM everywhere and earn myCENTS, then send it to the existing member and user themselves before the moderators and administrators get on and stop the spam. And when the spamming posts get deleted and the "phoney" user is now on negative myCENTS, the initial user will just create a new account and start all over again!!! Easy way to get myCENTS and cheat their way on Xisto doing so!!! So they should just give myCENTS to the winners and maybe to person doing the competition. And it doesn't have to be much. Like, less than $5 USD or something. -
Yeah, that's a great idea. Well... I never knew that you could give myCENTS as a prize, but if that's possible, it'll be a great idea!Yeah, if you could work on that it be great. But we can give other prizes other than myCENTS for the time being.I don't know... I've never seen an active tournament in my time since I came here, so I don't know what people usually give as prizes for the sig comps.
-
Yeah... I don't know why this is happening though. Must be the moderators working and editing behind the scenes, or some sort of bug...I mean... -500 myCENTS. Isn't that a bit just too much?I wish this would stop, as both of you contribute quality posts... I really don't know what's happening.

I use Photoshop CS4... it's the newest because I only got it this year for an art project that I have to do... it's hard to get started and learn everything, as it has lots of features, but once you know how to use it it's pretty easy to use and it is an amazing tool. I actually think Photoshop is the BEST out of all graphic making tools...And apparently, it is the international standard for all companies that do graphics designing or uses it to do website templates.
-
Ooh... nice. You must've been a mod before then... I thought only mods can see your warn log. Yeah, that might be a good idea too. Let's wait for rvalkass and truefusion and the others to come and have a look at this before we make anymore decisions.

Are Girls Prettier Without Makeup? Vote & Say You Thoughts
Nameless_ replied to lihuyt's topic in Health & Fitness
Wow... I must say, that's a very long post, Phoenix.Illusion...Anyhow, now, for my opinion.I think that make up is fine by me, as long as it isn't excessive. If it's excessive, then it will most likely than not look horrible.Personally though, I prefer girls that don't wear make up at all, as it just shows that she isn't obsessed with the whole:"Oh my god, if I don't wear make up I'll look terrible!"world. So yeah.Light make up is fine by me, just to add a few touches to their complexity and all that. But then, if you want to wear light make up, why bother putting up any make up on in the first place? This is so annoying!!! -
I'm OK with it, I suppose... I'm actually, to tell you the truth, OK with everyone apart from myself, as I have absolutely no incentive and no desire in being a mod. I'll probably trip everyone up in my noobiness and my lack of knowledge in web building. Though it is kinda obvious in you being a mod is the main reason why you started this thread in the first place. Not that I have anything against it, so don't worry. You can see Ash-bashes warn log? Really? Why can't I see that? This is so weird... Yeah, I actually think -Sky- should also be in the vote for being a mod too, but not if he doesn't want to be one. He's pretty active and quite helpful as well.

Trap17 Ad Or Answers.com Ad Has A Virus
Nameless_ replied to FruitRocks's topic in Web Hosting Support
Isn't that what it's meant to do? I mean, give to a answers.com thing whenever you double click a word? It's everywhere... so I don't think it's a virus. If you look at the ad on the left hand side corner of the post box when you post under the "Add reply" think you will be able to see an Answer Tips ad where it says if you double click a work you will get the definition of it or something. It's actually a very good way to advertise, in my opinion. Do you think I can add that to my site? I mean, you can't see any adds, only when you double click them. But people rarely do that, and when they do it's an easy way to earn revenue. I wonder if that's how Xisto keeps up it's hosting and all that. -
I don't think I can laugh at that. There are many racist encounters that I've been confronted with before... and well, I don't laugh at it. I just ignore it.I mean... wouldn't it be weird if you just laugh suddenly in the public when someone just insulted you? Like, on the train or something? I think it would be. I mean, most of the times when I get racist comments and encounters are most of the time on the streets, lifts and public transport. I just don't think laughing would be appropriate in those areas. It's just well.... not right, if you can put it that way. Anyway, I usually just ignore them and walk away. My country is a racist country, especially when it was, or used to, keep out people that has appearances that look like me. The old people there still have beliefs that my country should remain free of any other race influences and appearances as they "blemish" the surface of the land, unknowingly conveniently "forgotten" the fact that this land wasn't theirs in the first place, and that they had snatched it away forcefully from the indigenous people that had owned this land for many, many years. I just feel so sad when this happens. Why can't people learn to accept other people's differences and go ahead with their life? I mean, it's not like that people can CHOOSE to get born in this particular race or whatever. They can't do that. So what will these racist people do if they were born in the "wrong group"? Insult themselves? Throw racist comments on their family and race? No... (I'm surprised I went through all that without having to give up my identity of where I'm from and all that. But I think I've given enough hints to let your guys have a go to guess where I'm from. )
-
You, or you mean other moderators? Also, I think it will be best if people stepped up and said that they will want to volunteer and be a moderator. I mean, if you don't want to be made a moderator but you have been picked and made one... well, wouldn't that put you off???
-
Nice job... I voted yes. It's good you didn't specify WHO should be staff though, I wouldn't have voted otherwise as I wouldn't know who to vote for. (As I'm new and only know a few people here)

If you know Drake's Equation (an equation used to calculate the possibility and chances of life forms "out there" in the universe), you will be able to see that even if you give a minimum chance of life forming in the universe, there is still a lot of chances of life forming out there, so I'll say YES.This is the equation:N = R* fp ne fl fi fc Lwhere, N = The number of communicative civilizations (like, intelligent life forms like us)R* = The rate of formation of suitable stars (stars like as our Sun)fp = The fraction of those stars with planets. (Current evidence indicates that planetary systems may be common for stars like the Sun.) And around 50% of the stars are not in binary systems, so 50% of stars may have planets.ne = The number of Earth-like worlds per planetary systemfl = The fraction of those Earth-like planets where life actually developsfi = The fraction of life sites where intelligence developsfc = The fraction of communicative planets (those on which electromagnetic communications technology develops)L = The "lifetime" of communicating civilizationsAs you can see, there are a lot of stars out there, billions of millions of trillions of gazillions... you know, and there are a lot of galaxies out there too. Too much to count. Now, if you give a minimum possibility of 0.0000000000000000000001 of life forming in the universe, you will still be able to see that the number of galaxies and the number of stars forming in the universe will easily compensate of the 0.00 zero's that I have put. Add a hundred or more so zeros after the decimal point and it will make no difference. So there is a high chance of intelligent (and I say intelligent like us, not just any life form) life forms "out there" in the universe, it's just the problem of contacting them and finding out where they are, due to the vast distances that the universe covers and due to the immense number of stars and stars with planets in this universe.Nothing is impossible.

Fellow members of the Xisto community!!!On this fateful day, I was just browsing the forums and I found this one... and it seems like this inactivity that I've found isn't the first time that it happened, as we can see from the threads below mine that it is not the first time people have wanted to request for a new tournament due to the inactivity of the threads. And well, I can see that there was a tournament that WAS set up by a fellow Xisto Graphics staff member but unfortunately, it seems like no one had submitted a submission (how sad), maybe because of the inactivity and the lack of people viewing the thread, or maybe it was because there was a "lack of prize" as it was pointed out by the organiser of the program.Either way, I am pleading all active (or still are) Xisto Graphics Staff Members to hold a new competition!!! I will most definitely join in, and I will be checking for any new tournaments that will be held!!!It is time to renew our activeness in this forum and to do that, we should hold a tournament in the attempt to start and renew the spirit and activeness of this forum, and renew our creativity and passion of graphics making!!!
-
Yeah, well, rvallkass is doing his job, I must say. And he's a really nice moderator too... But I don't think any other mods apart from the ones listed in the first post is active. So new moderators will be very welcomed!!! Someone that's good at coding and helping people set up their first websites ever, I hope. And someone that's patient and willing to go an extra mile to help newbies like me to understand what different things like CMS are. Someone like rvalkass.
