Did you remove the default theme? If so, reupload that and see if it works, and also make sure that you have not accidentally moved, deleted or renamed a file. Also, are you certain that you did any permission changes that were required? This can sometimes cause weird problems, so check the installation files for CHMOD permissions. Alternatively, there is a support board here that may be able to help you out.

Life Imprisonment For 9-1-1 Attacker He plead guilty
rvalkass replied to jlhaslip's topic in General Discussion
I think he should have got the death penalty. Someone who has admitted to killing thousands of people should be sentenced to death, like any other mass murderer. He even said: Yes, life keeps him out of society but after killing 3000 people it seems right that he should lose his own life. -
I'm in the south east of England, about 40 miles north of London. Today was one of those really infrequent times where the temperature got above 70 degrees!

People have taken advantage of it, you just have to select the right country first. It's great to see people using these systems for free advertising and it should be interesting to see how quickly the space fills up.

The Javascript will cause the browser window to resize to the resolution you specify. The resolution of your monitor won't change at all. I've tried it and it works in IE and FF, but Opera seems to refuse it and nothing happens? It works if you click Restore on the tab first, but if the tab is maximised then it won't change the size. Can anyone else get this to work in Opera correctly, as I would find it useful for testing web pages and CSS.

I agree, the name doesn't really matter and they have started a viral marketing thing here, as people are spreading the name for free and people get to know it. Yes, it sounds a bit stupid and I'm sure a lot of people will laugh at it, but then again, most people interested in gaming will probably still call it the Revolution. The games are what make or break a console and if Nintendo can bring out some new concepts and some interesting new games then they will have a chance, otherwise the console will flop like the Dreamcast.

Remember to put quote tags around anything you copy, even if it is from your own website. The design of your site is good, apart from that green menu on the left. It stands out, yes, but it doesn't fit with any of the other colours on the page. Most sites use a selection of shades of one colour. Just look at this forum, its all shades of blue. Try changing the menu to one of the other colours you have used on the page, or a darker shade of the background.Your Contact Us form looks a little unorganised, as nothing is lined up. I presume you have used central alignment in a table? It looks weird and would probably be better if you left aligned the whole lot. Other than that your site is fine.

As Dragonfly has said, without knowing your location its a bit difficult to help, but I would suggest the Sony Ericsson K700i. I've had it for a while and it works perfectly. It's well built and seems to withstand getting knocked about a bit! It reacts pretty quickly on the menus and is easy to use and navigate. It also looks pretty good: link. When I got mine it cost about Ł80, but prices vary all over the world.

Well I use Wordpress for my blog, and there are a whole load of themes and plugin scripts to use to expand the site. You can create your own theme (like mine) with extreme ease as well, just to get a personal touch. Wordpress has a pages feature, which are static pages, just like a normal site, that are not really related to the blogging system. You can customise the URL scheme that Wordpress uses. I use a system derived from the date I posted, but other people just use page titles and other systems. This means that search engines can generally find the site quite easily and put you near the top.

Wow, Microsoft really have made that look more like a Mac than Windows. I'm sure they said the key to their software was that everything looked the same, so you could use any application easily? Although it does look clean and modern, a lot of people are going to need to relearn how to use the Office system, especially if they are not exactly computer-savvy.I also noticed that from their comparison table of the plethora of different versions, FrontPage seems to have been dropped from the lineup, along with Visio, so I presume these are only available separately. I am currently doing my GCSEs, and soon I'll be starting my A Levels, and I am going to need the Professional Plus version to get the software I need. Surely Microsoft didn't think this through properly, as no student is going to be able to afford the versions they need, so more people are just going to switch to OpenOffice or some other cheaper version.

I think my favourite online game is probably either America's Army, because there is a very large online community with it, or any of the Age Of Empires series, as they are different in every game you play, with different people and strategies.

I don't really think this belongs in the Google section of the forums.I have used this software before and it is good for creating some quite basic games very quickly, and you can also create more advanced 3D games, but that can take quite a while. The interface is pretty intuitive and easy to use, but of course there are limitations compared to progamming a game from scratch.

Helpful Criticism Of My Website Please
rvalkass replied to agentblade's topic in Websites and Web Designing
It looks great, I've never seen any sort of navigaition like that. Just keep the blogs updated and you will have an excellent site. -
This looks like a brilliant idea! With more and more people now using MP3 players on the move, and downloading speech as well as just music it makes sense to have a device like this. You can buy it for a few pounds and listen to a book while on a flight, on the train or even at sea. Although, if you wanted to keep the audiobooks you buy they take up just as much space as their cassette-tape equivalents, so they're not exactly a space saver, and there is obviously a lot more choice online for people and a download takes no physical space at all.

Grow V3.0 - Flash "simcity" by a very talented guy

I've managed to complete it, and it took a while to get the right combination! I kept getting one or two that weren't completed. -
I can confirm that this is most likely the Sasser worm that was going around a few years back, but was mostly cleared up. The problem with trying to get rid of the virus is that you can never stay online long enough to download any of the removal tools. Try and keep the command line window open (Start > Run > "cmd" > Run...). Whenever the box appears making the PC shutdown, type this into the command line: CONSOLE shutdown -a That will stop the countdown. As for removal tools, try Symantec. Their tools are generally reliable and I actually had to use this exact tool on a PC a few years ago, and it cleared it up a treat. If you keep getting this virus, get some firewall and antivirus software! Symantec make Norton, which is very reliable and, although some claim it is resource hogging, it seems to work perfectly on every system I have tried it on. There are also a lot of free ones, just check out the Freeware section of this forum.

Video With Google Talk Will it ever happen?
rvalkass replied to michaelper22's topic in The Internet
I've used Festoon and it works pretty well. I'm sure that if Festoon is a sucess then Google would build video functions in, even if only to keep up with MSN! -
You could also have a look over on PSC or Pixel2Life if you can'r find what you want here. Normally login systems are quite hard to incorporate into systems developed by other people, but some (like Wordpress) are made to be edited. If you intend to have a forum on your website too then there are often plugins for things like Wordpress and other systems to use the users from the forum on the rest of the website, meaning you have one universal login system and userbase over the entire site.

Speaking from experience, the best way to keep your hosting is obey the rules and post in any topic that interests you. As Albus has said, it is better to write longer and more detailed posts as they contribute to the forums more and are often more helpful and useful than a post simply containing one or two words. Your knowledge is key here, just post about what you know about and write what comes naturally. Once you have a few credits you only really need one a day which you can earn from just 'normal' activity like any other forum, you don't need anything excessive here.
