  1. I'd say eye contact is very important.Theres no pointdealing with somebody who is shifty eyed.It just showsto me that they are hiding something. You say you're friend is cross eyed? That is definitly anexception to the rule then.It could be she's very self consciousabout this. All the best.
  2. The internet is the last of the free wild west so tospeak. It wouldn't take billionsof people to moniter it.Software programs could be written to do thatvery easily. Strict liscensing put into place. It wouldn't be hard to do at all.I mean,it's easy if need be, to restrict what sitespeople can see.It would be easy to editcurrent sites also.I hate to sound cynical. I think we should enjoy it while it lasts.
  3. You know, you are right. I can't believe after all this time I never used vb script clientside.I guess it's because I've been concentrating on php too much for years and messing around at home with vb .net desktop applications. Thanks This is something simple I wrote for somebody in php. I used javascript client side to open up new windows : http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  4. You're completely wrong buddy.Vb script is not client side.Purelyserver side. Therefore there is no point even comparing Visual basic to javascript, though Visualbasic(From which vb script is based.) has been around since about 1962.Javascript came much later(mid 1990's).
  5. Vb script is a server side language where javascript is a client side language. In other words vb script works on your web sites server where javascriptworks on your browser.
  6. I worked for one of those companies once.I won't mention whichone because I wouldn't want to be sued. The rate at which the trucksare loaded and unloaded is incredible. Packages are just basically thrown about, often with no regard forany 'fragile' sticker warning. If you are sending anything fragile through these companies, make sure youpad and protect it extremely well.I've seen what it's like.
  7. It's kind of ironic though.I mean people complainingabout 'office injuries'.I mean, I thought the reason it was called workin the first place was because one had to put effort in and thensuffer a few aches and pains.I mean the expression 'no pain,no gain'really does mean something, People can get slight 'injuries' flying a kite or drinkinga cup of tea.I think we've all gotten too soft really.Myself included, complaining about the slightest aches and pains.
  8. Unfortunately it's easy for people to stigmatizepeople. As goes the old expression goes, you don'tknow what it's like until you walk in someoneelses shoes. At the same time though, certain 'disabilities'can really inspire people to higher levels(i,eTerry fox,Stevie Wonder, Django Reinhart). Hopefully we can educate people better to bemore understanding.
  9. I think I'll just follow the standard public health warningsabout aids and needle use. It's a scary disease. It would definitly be news to me that sharing aninfected needle wasn't that dangerous,if notgetting aids, then hepatitus.
  10. Caffiene is definitly a drug.I have to have it in the morning.I don't know what I would do if I didn't. Yes.It does give a definite adrelenaline rush.It seemsI'm used to having three cups everyday and if I don'tI have this constant craving for it.
  11. No.Political science is not a science. If that were the case a sanitary engineer(i,e garbageman) would be hi tech.We live in times of political correctness.Too much double talk really.
  12. Three things that make me really mad? 1)People speaking loud on cell phones. It is like theyare including you in they're life when you didn't want to be.It is extremely impolite.2) People who don't follow the rules of the road while driving. They don't signal, pull illegal u-turns,turn at red lights etc.Accidents waiting too happen.3)People who over idolize celebrities. It's fine admiring somebody. It's great admiring talent. When this appreciation gets to bemindless hero worship though,it can get to be too much.
  13. They did find his remains. It is now well documented that the Russians took jawbones from the burned corpses and matched the teeth with Hitler's dental records.Indeed finding a match. The Russians kept this a secret for decades. There is no desire to display these jawbones in a museum because they will just become a shrine for demented neo nazis. This makes a lot of sense. You can read up on it here : http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  14. It irritates me that many of these books have beenturned into movies. The way I see it,one doesn't even know Lord of the ringsat all until one has read the trilogy. I mean,I've read a clockwork orange and never have any desireto see the movie.Reading a book is like having a private, custom movie. Call me messed up or what, but the best entertainment is still in books.
  15. The most messed up book I've NEVER read, which I think they should ban.is mein kempf.Purely evil.I'm sure we've all heard about it. That Christine f book?I think I've read that.It takes place in Berlin right? At first the girl is a huge fan of 1970's glam rock right?I read a book just like the one you described. The most messed up book I ever read?Helter skelter about Charles Manson.Truth really is stranger than fiction. He had all those demented followers.
  16. I was told by my isp provider that simply hooking up my ethernet cable tothe computer disables the wireless access, although I encrypted it too.Once these pirates get a holdof your signal they can eat up bandwidth like nothing. As a hobby I messed around with wire sniffing software before. It's easy enough to be patient to obtain the packets, but after that comes thehard part.Deciphering the code isn't easy.
  17. I looked at your list and saw that rapidshare is on there.Whatever youdo don't try using a free account with them. It's just not worth it.I don't know what the payed accounts are like, but the rapidshare free account was miserable.
  18. Why not just post a lot of messages and do it right here through Xisto?I haven't been using Xisto for long but I haven't had any problems yet,and from what I've read it seems pretty good. Dynadot.com is also pretty good for purchasing domain names.I've used thembefore. They accept paypal as well as credit cards. They are cheap too.The interface is a lot simpler than godaddy for making purchases. They don't try and strong arm you into making purchases you don't want.
  19. I don't think I'd be interested in that whatsoever.I mean, when I use a coffee tablefor coffee or beer I really don't want to know about a computer at all. It sounds to me like a real geek thing.Incredibly expensive too.
  20. I've thought of getting a usb stick to increase memory.Right now I'm no longer using wirelesss internet so all my usb ports are free,The thing is,I either just burn stuff to disc to save it, or more recentlyjust upload it to yahoo or google to save it.This eliminates any potentialhardware problems, or if your stick becomes faulty.
  21. Adobe began Photoshop?I never knew that.I didn't mean that Adobe couldn't be edited. What I meant was thatI could never copy from an Adobe document and paste intoanother application like notepad.I've never really had any problems with any other software, just Adobe.I don't like the way it scrolls though.I find it an irritating application.
  22. I've never liked Adobe acrobat reader.I've always found it an extremelyawkward application to use.Never easy to view, links that don't work,no copy and paste etc. What makes me laugh, considering Acrobat reader appears tobe Adobes first main application,is how this company gotso strong that they bought dreamweaver.Truth is stranger than fiction.Basically Acrobat reader is a joke.
  23. Watching videos, listening to mp3's,viewing too many images.all online, will all eat up your bandwidth.Using Torrent download programs will kill it even more. I'm concernedabout this because I have a bandwidth limit and pay heavilyif I go over it.It doesn't take much really.
  24. There was a lot of news a few years ago about something calledSt John's wort. It's apparantly a herbal remedy for depression. In the articles I read it apparantly seems to work.
  25. I've heard about this Cayenne pepper before, but I'dnever heard exactly why, so it is good reading this today..Right now myhealth is very good but one should never take anything for granted. I think I'll check into this stuff at the drug store or health food store.Really should look into garlic too.
