Snow In Texas Snow in Houston Tx, whats next?
networker replied to Echo_of_thunder's topic in Science and Technology
Last year the snow in Toronto was really bad.Apparantly it was theworst winter in 35 years. I always try to expect the worst as far as the weather goes.Thatway I'm pleasantly surprised when it's not that bad. It must be pretty bad for all those people in Houston who are unprepared forsnow(i.e no winter clothing).Maybe that's the first step in Houstongetting an Nhl hockey team.lol. -
No.I wouldn't add anything like a two point shot in soccer. That would change the nature of the game too much. What I would do is increase the number of substitutions allowed during a match.Right now I think it's 4.Make it so that a in certain instances a player can be taken off and put back on. Also, maybe increase overall substitutions to seven.

Daddy Long Legs Did You Know its most poisonous
networker replied to devildude93's topic in General Discussion
I read somewhere that in his sleep the average person will eatsomething like twenty spiders in his life time.Strange but true apparantly. Although I doubt if Tarantulas are included with this.It would take a lot ofchomping to eat one of those though it would probably be very nutriscious. -
Animal Cruelty Why do people harm helpless animals
networker replied to velma's topic in Home & Garden
Sick people are cruel to animals.I guess the word is sadistic. It seems every week you read about another episode of animalcruelty though. If we can't treat the animals with respecthow can we treat each other with respect? -
If the turtle reacts like that when it sees you then it mustlike you a lot.Turtles are so placid and quiet normally thatyour turtle seems unusual. Who knows.Maybe it's smarter than most turtles.Maybeyou could teach it some tricks.

Yes.Things are tough right now.The only thing to do is stick by yourfriend and roll with the punches so to speak.Things will get better. The economy goes in cycles and always has and alwayswill. With that, the job market will improve.

The way I feel is that animal testing should be legal onlyfor medical purposes. As for cosmetic companies, I disagree with thiscompletely. It really is superficial and shallow to test and basicallytorture animals for the sake of beauty.

networker replied to amir691's topic in Science and Technology
What about those things that were called mood rings? If a ring could find out what your mood is like then indeedanything is possible. The wonders of the high tech world.I wouldn'trule anything out. -
On of my scariest incidents was when I was working for thismining claims company one summer in the wilderness of Northern Quebec. There was me and three other guy's and 2 doberman pinschers andsupplies in this little boat. We were crossing this large lake and there was a storm. We were thrown about like a pea in a bathtub.I definitlythought it was the end.Fortunately we survived it.It was scary.

Yes.I suffer from it too although suffer is hardly the word any moresince I've gotten used to it.That's funny you mention the sound of the sea.I always leave a fan on at night when I sleep and that too reminds me ofthe sound of the sea. I always have to have extra sounds going on in the background. The sound of silence is just a little too loud. I got my condition from playing and recording music, especially with headphones on .Must watch the volume.

The way I see it,the best cure for depression is to keep busy.Keep your mind active.Try to focus on positice things also and not the negative. It sounds easier said than done but it's the way I try and deal with it.

Mitch Mitchell Passes Away Today Former drummer for jimi Hendrix
networker replied to jlhaslip's topic in General Discussion
The thing is Jimi Hendrix was never amazing technically as a guitarist compared tosay, jazz or Classical guitar players. What he did have though was his ownsound and he was incredibly innovative(Effects usage) and was basicallyway ahead of any other rock players at the time. This is why he is one of theall time greats. r.i.p Mitch Mitchell -

networker replied to Echo_of_thunder's topic in General Discussion
It's about time he got his due.O.J and his thugs.I mean,he lost that civil suit to the Goldman's.It was pretty obvious that he commited the murder, running away in a white vehicle and all. It was only a matter of time. -

It's all fine to say that there was a warm periodin the Medieval ages but they didn't measure the ice capsthen did they? I think these melting ice caps are a definite ominous sign. Then again,by the way the weather has been in TorontoCanada lately global warming is wishfull thinking.Theres noevidence of it here.

What Do You Think Of The Books I Own? my favorite books
networker replied to quiksilver's topic in General Discussion
I've read the 'Lord iof the rings' trilogy which is obviously a great bookseries. The way I see it,one can see the movie but it's nothinguntil you've read it. 'Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy' is also a great read.I've read some Tom Clancy. He gets very technical. That's fine if you're into that.Obviously the army likeshim as they apparantly hired him. I'd say you're choice of reading is pretty good. -
I guess I have several favorite animals. For friendship it's definitlyDogs.I admire Lions.I guess it's because of the whole 'Kingof the Jungle' thing. I also like elephants too. They just seem so noble. It's so sadso many of these animals are endangered.

Freelance Designers: How Do You Drum Up Business?
networker replied to mikeyboy63's topic in Online Advertising
I've done freelance coding for a lot of mickey mouse web sites. Any site really is sort of 'mickey mouse' if it doesn'thave a half decent google ranking.Getting a good google rankingis the tough part. These people have a lot of initial enthusiasm for they're sitesand it's sustaining that attitude which is the problem. Theres just too many 'fly by nighters'. -
I saw her as moving clockwise which makes me logical.I think she has a nice body though so that would make me artistic wouldn't it?

I like to believe that God sees the mind and heart of thegiver and not how much cash he has.If only life were that simple though. The threat of starvation to a lot of people would preventthem from giving everything they had. Still, the ultimate act of giving it all away would give someone the ultimate inner spiritual satisfaction.

I can't explain why but instinctively I feel that the deathpenalty is wrong.Maybe that's because I feel that a high level of guilt is inevitable in such cases as Murder, rape and pedophilia. I wouldn't want to live with that kind of guilt but I havea hard time seeing in the eyes of these people.Maybe they don't feel any guilt. Regardless though, murderers, rapists and pedophiles should be imprisoned and quarantined together for life.At the lowest financial cost possible. It's easier said than done though.
