  1. Nah, I'm not fond of entering contests... It could be too nerve-racking for me. Maybe I will someday when my skills become better. Oh, and no problem jlhaslip~ I was bored today and decided to let my creative juices flow, haha... I found some cool wood brushes and other stuff so what else can I do but make a sig of them?
  2. Waah... This is the first time I made this kind of sig. I'm not used to making stuff like this, so I'm open for suggestions. I can really use the help. It's wood-themed because jlhaslip said that he liked wood. I made wood brush strokes below and added a teensy bit of grunge and some techy stuff too. Then I added the robot-render thing to match the techy brushes. What do you think? I hope you like it jlhaslip!
  3. I don't use Yahoo! as often as I used to. I still keep the messenger because most of the people I know could be contacted using the messenger. I still use Yahoo! mail though, because it's my public e-mail address. I don't care if I show it in public places because it's probably got enough spam anyway... I use it to get impersonal mail. But other than that, I use my GMail address for my personal stuff... (I love GMail more than Yahoo! Mail) I don't remember searching in Yahoo! Search since I discovered Google... So... yeah, I suppose I only end up using Yahoo! for the messenger and the mail, but other than that, I rely on Google. Still, Yahoo!'s not that bad, but I prefer other stuff~
  4. The internet? That storehouse of information? Make you... stupid?Well, honestly it all depends on how you use it. But even if you end up using it for good, even if you don't admit it... You slowly become lazier, denser and eventually become more stupid if you always rely on the internet. I can atest to that. I used to read a lot and go to the library, but after I discovered this gold mine, I've been extremely lazy in trying to look for information manually and rely on wikipedia or google to get what I need to research on. That certainly made me lazier... I also realized that I sometimes failed to see the obvious. My social life? What's that?Don't get me wrong, though... I don't flunk in school or anything. I'm one of the top students in class, but I must admit... The internet could plausibly be doing more harm than good. Even if you use it for good, if you always end up using it too much, you will eventually and slowly succumb to a negative change of character. As the others have said, you should take breaks every now and then. Also, if there is something you should look up on, and you know that it's not hard to find in the library, then you should by all means... It certainly wouldn't hurt to do it, would it?
  5. I agree, you should use another font because it does seem too common... The sig gives me a sinister feeling because of all the red. You should also make the text more visible. I had too look around before I realized you put text there... I'll give it a 6.5/10. Good job for a first try~
  6. I vote for Saint_Michael because I really liked the way he managed to blend the colors in his sig. It's like some sort of radioactive blue blob and I like it, hehe...
  7. We don't celebrate that here in the Philippines. I don't think anyone has much interest in it either. I know about it because of watching American Television perhaps? I think it's a really fun day, and I wish I could experience it someday. Though I'd like to do some of the pranks myself.
  8. Ahh yes... Balut... I've eaten that once when I was a kid. It looked pretty scary when I ate it. It's better not to look at it when you're eating cause you just might puke if you have a weak stomache. It tastes stranger than any other food you've tasted, but I must admit that it tastes pretty good. I'm not exactly fond of it, but I'm not completely hating it either. I still feel nervous about eating it though... It's such a taboo... I only eat the soft parts and the "soup" the chick... is too hard... and it's really freaky...
  9. Same with Opaque and all the others who replied the same thing... I can't stand to eat any of those... "food". Even if it falls on a seemingly clean floor, I still won't eat it because someone probably stepped on it with shoes that came from who knows where, or some rat/cockroach/equally annoying pest passed by it. It's still floor, and floor is dirty. (I must admit, I'm a bit of a bacteriophobic [or whatever phobia it's supposed to be])
  10. I tried it out, but after it uploaded it, it gave me an error because I didn't choose a genre... Thus, I had to re-upload it, but it gave me the same thing... It's really annoying, and I sure hope they don't delete my files... I was able to add other stuff before they implemented the game/software choices thing...
  11. Yeah, that's why I was asking for another host with the same features that is NOT Rapidshare and Megaupload. I meant something that you have to register for (free of course) and where you get your own storage space and you are able to host or hotlink your files from your page. FileLodge is a similar thing, but the downtimes are getting to be annoying. Does anyone else know something similar to those two?
  12. I didn't direct any of my posts to "preps". I was directing them to suhrlucky13 whose post, I must admit, annoyed me (and probably lead me to do generalizations ). So I guess they were kinda off topic? I see that you consider "prep" as being fashionable, fffanatics. Well, I have nothing against preps, just people with really annoying attitudes. I only encountered a "prep" in my old school and she's really nice and loves to wear cool stuff. I hope I haven't been confusing anybody with my previous posts. When I get upset because of an arrogantly posted post (heh, sounds weird), I just have to reply.
  13. He didn't put his personal info for a free gift, but he entered a competition. I'm pretty sure there's nothing for him to worry about except maybe, the prize getting lost in the mail... (Though I sure hope not... ) Anyway, congratulations on winning!
  14. I'm icemarle... It's already in my signature...Anyway, if that's the case, suhrlucky13, I aplogize for my sudden judgement of your plans in the future.HOWEVER, you can't expect people to adjust for you the whole time. Sure, your attitude may be stuck-up, but you can't say, "Get over it." just like that. If you must know, a lot of people hate stuck-up people, and even if you are seemingly successful, you won't have any real friends because they're just there because of your wealth or your "success". You might not know, but it'll come back to you in due time when you realize that what you're doing is wrong and that people are just putting on masks to fool you. I would like to delve on this further but I just might end up doing more than expected. As for me, I'm an only child, my parents love me and I love them. My dad has a high-paying job and my mom helps out make money in the sidelines. I may get what I want most of the time... I may also wear branded and expensive clothes or have certain expensive gadgets, but I never act stuck-up, I never brag about having them, and I most certainly don't feel superior to other people. I grew up in a home which nourished me with good values and I've learned to treasure them. I care about other people and do my best to help out. I return my parents' love by doing good in my studies in getting awards. I have a very small circle of true friends who don't look down on others. Certainly, cultural differences may be a factor here, but at least I don't have any problems with people hating me because of what I do. I despise people who feel superior to others. You're still human, you know, and we're all the same. You can't act superior only because of what you have. When you were born into this world, we all came out by ourselves WITH NOTHING. I did too, so did everyone else. It just so happened that you gained things along the way, but we are all the same. You have no right to be superior to others and neither do I or anybody else.
  15. Really? I used to come here like once a week with only about 15 credits or so left, and I've only experienced getting negative credits once. (And I quickly boosted it up) A tip though, when you find a good topic to talk about, elaborate on what you're saying, in short, say a lot of things relating to that topic, and you'll get a day or so of credits. I usually rant, or reply to rants, so I get my posts long enough to make me happy. It's probably better to post when you're in a good mood so you can think up of more things to say.
  16. Well, excuse me suhrlucky13... Do you earn the money to spend for your designer clothes? You're just a leech sucking your parent's money and you know it. You probably can't earn it for yourself and live in your fantasy world. Not that clothes are everything... It's your "better than everyone else" attitude that annoys everyone. And a note, WE DON'T HATE YOU OUT OF JEALOUSY! We HATE YOU because of your stuck-up attitudes that make you feel like the world revolves around you. WE DO HAVE FRIENDS, and we must say they're better than you will ever be! Try living in the REAL world once, and NOT LEECHING OFF OTHER PEOPLE's HARD EARNED MONEY! Try working or starting a business. If you can't survive any of those things, you're better not living in this world. Life is NEVER EASY, it is full of trials and challenges, and you can never live life to the fullest if you can never experience any of these. Life isn't about your money, your clothes, and your other "cool" stuff, it's about living and communicating with other people, and not just your gang. No one likes to hear someone brag about themselves. Tell me, do you enjoy hearing someone brag? Face it, you know you're wrong and you just want to cover all your wrong-doings by acting really superior. You're just like everyone else, except that you act all superior when you're not. Face it, when you see us "losers" out in the real world earning more money than you leeched off, see who has the final laugh...
  17. I said I followed the instructions. (Which meant I pressed the buttons) Hmm, I do wonder why it wouldn't work for me, though...
  18. Strange how I'm not getting any of the desired results... I did as instructed and nothing happened, oh well, it's no matter... It's okay if I don't see them.
  19. There's such a restriction!? I didn't know that... Well, I'm trying it out now. I'm going to download that 11MB thing I uploaded and try to download something else right after. The download speeds aren't good like you said, but I guess we have to sacrifice for free service. I don't want to use RapidShare right now because I hate having to try and keep my file expiring and losing my links. One time, I uploaded something in RapidShare and the link it gave me was the previous thing I uploaded. Thus, I had to re-upload it again... It got to be tedious in the end, but oh well...[Edit]I was uploading fine today until there came an option where you had to choose the game/software program you're uploading. Unfortunately for me, I was uploading neither. I wasn't able to upload it properly... sadly... Anyway, I decided not to stick to it because of that. Since I've uploaded like 8 files already, I decided to leave them there and have them linked to my site. At least it was good while it lasted. I got a few files in before they started "filtering" them and segregating them as either game or software. I guess I'll have to retreat to Filelodge.com that offers a lot less than FileFront (500MB instead of unlimited). It doesn't seem to be as picky as FileFront when it comes to file uploads... Sigh, I was starting to like it too... Or would anyone recommend me a similar service (not Rapidshare/Megaupload and similar stuff) that doesn't have much downtime and has proved itself reliable? FileLodge goes down quite often and it annoys me cause I really want to get over uploading all my stuff for linking...
  20. I tried the first one. It's impossible to hold ALT while trying to click Pallete options. I tried it normally, and there was a sample pic of wizards and flowers to preview the thumbnail size. It's not really a bonus thing, it's just been there, and you can access it normally. The second one didn't make any sense. I tried holding Ctrl and it still had the same effect as doing it normally... The About Screen showed up and nothing else happened. I'm not sure about how the others got this effect, but I don't think there's anything specialPS: I'm using Photoshop CS2 in a Windows XP OS if that makes any difference.
  21. I've been looking for a new filehost recently, and I came to FileFront.com. For registering, you can get unlimited space for file/image hosting. I've been using it for a while now and I've been really satisfied with it. You just have to make sure that your files are completely legal, and they will be untouched. You can even share your files to other people. I'm planning on uploading my unlicensed manga files there to link to my site. I think their service is great, though I want opinion from people who have already been using it. Is it stable and can I rely on it in the long run? (I don't care about downtimes now and then as long as the service will last) If you have any other comments about this service, please inform me.
  22. Hm, I'm not sure of the hardest game, but I have to say that most of the original NES games are quite hard... I think I found the original Dragon Warrior I for NES insane... (Well, I'm a modern gamer so...) Anyway, when it comes to hard, NES games come to mind. I usually go back and play the classics when I go looking for a challenge. As for the more modern games... well, actually, I think I'd like to suggest Puyo Pop Challenge because I played the original Puyo Puyo games before, and my technique was to always use combos and unlesh a ton of garbage puyo upon my opponent, but in Puyo Pop, the more you send g.puyo to your enemy, the possibility of a comeback is increased. When I play that game, I never get rid of the hair tearing moments that drive me up the wall... Frankly speaking, it's really challenging and it makes me wanna throw my SP out the window...
  23. Gah... Hey now... that was overreacting a bit. I go to a private school here only because most of the public schools here don't exactly have good stuff like only a few chairs in class, most of which are broken... Overcrowding and stuff... Well, the government hasn't actually improved on the area yet, and my family is well-off so they can afford to send me to a private school here. In fact, what happens here is private school wars. For example, most kids in my school hate the kids from another school cause they're so annoying and love to flash their wealth. We wear uniforms... In fact almost all schools in my country have dresscodes! You'll usually see uniforms wherever you go, be it private or public. The heat happens between private schools because some private schools are most expensive than others, it gives them an excuse to act all stuck-up cause they're in a rich school. Personally, my school doesn't have a rich reputation, however, it excells in its teachings. We get taught advanced math here. In my previous school (also private) we get taught advanced english. Public schools are sometimes too bad to talk about here, so... ~_~ Besides, it doesn't mean that you're in a private school that you're automatically rich. My family's probably considered as middle class. You know, we're not even allowed to bring gadgets to school! We're NOT even ALLOWED to bring cellphones, laptops, games or any other expensive stuff to school. We're not even allowed to wear bracelets, necklaces and big earrings... And I'm in a PRIVATE school! So I guess this can clear the stereotype a bit.Out of topic:I'm in an all-girls school and I hate it mainly because some girls here get crushes on other girls... Plus, we're affiliated to this all-boys school. Why can't we just merge? It's so annoying... The funny thing is, I got sent here cause my dad thought there were boys in highschool. As it turned out, boys were only allowed til Grade 4... Fancy that. I guess they're being paranoid about relationships. It could get really annoying, though. Having a male friend would be really neat, cause girls love to talk about you behind your back.
  24. Haha... I've only ever used Yahoo! Briefcase once... and that was to leech off an invalid link. Pretty useless, actually. I never tried to use it to upload my files cause it seems unstable. I use alternatives like Rapidshare and YouSendIt. Else, I do what I usually do right now, sending the file to myself as an attachment. It's pretty secure, so that's what I often do.
  25. Hmm... Everytime I come here... I think, "Time to post again...". But I remember the times when I was new, I absolutely loved to post in this place! Now it's turning to be a chore. I've been very busy lately, so I sometimes forget to post and when I come back here, I rush and try to post to keep it up til about 20 credits. It's hard to do that, but I've managed to keep it that way for a long time. But you know? I don't complain about it. Sure, it turns out to be a chore for me, but no one can come up with a better hosting service than Xisto... to mention it's free too... that's such a good bargain! Why do I have to whine for a small sacrifice like this, when I can get good hosting service for free!
