  1. Theres another converter that goes by the name Xilisoft MP4 converter. I personally use it to convert videos for my PSP.. Works great. The good thing about this player : Highly efficient, can convert from any format , you can also customize different video and audio settings separately(i dont know if any of the above player has that, generally its like when you change the some other settings the audio changes accordingly.)The bad thing : Its not free :lol:NEways.. Do try it.
  2. There are two girls in my life. One is a School Friend. I didn't have any kind of crush / Love relationship with her. We've been friends for a long time now, since we were kids. We don't really meet up that often but I must say, It its more than 4-5 months I miss her. She doesn't call me either but then Its may be bcoz of my attitude or bcoz she's really busy with her post-graduation. NEways .. Thing is , I think She really likes me , Bcoz she keeps asking me if I can spend some more time with her, walk with her, etc. Second Girl is the one I really like. I feel the butterflies in my stomach every time I am with her :)I can give up anything and everything for her. But she doesn't want to be in a relationship. She just wants to be a good friend and nothing more than that. I dont know what to do.. ? I am confused :PIts kind of funny .. right ?
  3. Try to remove the Photoshop entries from the REGISTRY manually. This is a common problem with Adobe products. I've faced it a lot. If you need help on how to do it. Do reply
  4. Problem could be with the registry entries. Photoshop does some fixes on the Registry before installation. Now if it gets stuck it tries to roll back. You may have a scratched CD and thus the installation might have rolled back. Now, If you try to install again and if the registry entries were not removed, installer will assume you have a proper installation and wont install the components again. This has happened to me with lots of games NEways.. the best solution is > Manually search through registry for Photoshop entries and delete them. Make sure you are deleting it for the Adobe Photoshop CS3 (and not anything else like other Photoshop file supporting softwares eg. Irfan View ) when you are done. Restart your pc and then try to reinstall. If you can, I would say try to copy the CD (make an Iso) and then run installation from there. It will make sure you are running from a proper installation without CRC errors.
  5. Well I think Limewire is better. Bcoz utorrent can only handle torrents. Basically it doesn't have a search functionality for a network of its own. Like Vuze and Limewire. Vuze I dont like bcoz of the conflicts it has. It was not compatible with the NVidia firewall (on my previous motherboard) and so it used to crash. I couldn't leave it overnight. Though I must say, If its for torrents only I would still say utorrent would be my choice but generally I like Limewire has anyone tried the new eMule Plus ? Direct Link : http://www.emule.com/
  6. I dont think there are any free PC-to-Phone now. Everyone is charging for the services. Atleast I can't find any. Do put up some names if anyone finds a free PC-to-Phone calling. That would be quite useful
  7. @Xpress - I somewhat agree with you but these result doesn't mean we stop using a Good Security Suite. It only means that we should use continuously apply patches as and when they are released. But then, I've had bad experiences with patches also :)I had a licensed version of ZoneAlarm and it really screwed up my system. Then I bought Kaspersky Internet Security Suite. :PI know it has bad scores but then I can't help it, at least it detects my Viruses well.I guess AntiVirus' companies should concentrate more on their engines.
  8. Hey Eldeo. I believe its a Compiler Construction assignment that you are having and It would be something like construct a C Compiler using Java. There are many of these available freely. Google for it and I am sure you'll find one. Otherwise if you want to build it on your own. It will take some time but you'll surely be able to build it. find some good books on Compiler Construction. And build a Flow Chart first. Then you need to proceed step-by-step as in the book. Lexical analyser, symantic analyser, Syntax analyser, etc. I also did a similar minor project in my fourth year
  9. @ ADMIN : Kindly remove the content of this post if you find it offensive or illegal in any way. Thanks :)I am only replying to this post because I find it amusing that people still want to hack their School PCs.I can really understand and relate to this. Its really strange that people put up security where it is least required. I mean what possibly can a guy do on a School's PC. And If they are afraid of the Virus (yes , I know it sounds stupid but I've heard this reason also ) why dont they buy a better Antivirus. Our college uses Symantec Antivirus and hasn't been updated for past 5-6 months even though we have a proper net connection.Hey Arthur, Can you just plug out the Network cable and still use the PC ??bcoz if you can , then you can easily boot from another OS and change the Admin password.Google for "OphCrack" p.s. "Ophcrack" is a legal software and is used if a user forgets his / her admin passwords. Happens to me a lot.PM me if you need more help or the software doesn't help.
  10. dudes the original post was over 2 yrs old .. why are you still posting ?
  11. This was good. But then, People should be smart enough and not believe everything and anything .. I guess the problem is , the Literacy level amongst Muslims is still low. In India also, Many Muslim families still believe that girls shouldn't be getting higher education. I mean this is bad. Considering its 20th century ppl in villages are way behind ppl living in Towns and Cities. from what understand , the problem is less education and nothing else. People affected from the so called "Human Virus" must have been the uneducated type knowing nothing about viruses and how they work :)P.S. By education I dont mean getting a degree from some college / university . I've seen people studying for Ph.D. and knowing nothing about a computer. By Education , I mean the understanding and general knowledge and Common Sense kind of thing.
  12. What Security Suite do you use ? source : http://blogs.flexerasoftware.com/vulnerability-management/2008/10/symantec-beats-the-competition.html Notice from electriic ink: Copied from http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and http://blogs.flexerasoftware.com/vulnerability-management/2008/10/symantec-beats-the-competition.html Condensed and quoted.
  13. Hey Buddy, Your SMPS could also be the problem. In one of my friends computer, the SMPS was bad and he was having a similar problem. The motherboard was same as yours and he was using a 6600 GT. Problem was that the card was not getting enough power supply and whenever he started the system the computer used to beep up 3 times. Now, since card didn't have enough power to run the Monitor didn't light up. But in your case its starting after 4-5 min. I am guessing, your motherboard is smart enough to sense that the system is not running and hence turn of many of the things to save power. After five minutes when you reboot, since most of the things were off, your gfxcard gets the power and hence its starts up.Actually, Most of the SMPS degrade with time and after 4-5 yrs they dont supply the rated power. This was just a guess, there's no harm in trying. You can bring in one spare SMPS from a friend and then try. RDRAMs were always expensive , thats why they phased out fast. I remember even I had a system with RDRAM for a few months. I decided to sell it only after the first 3-4 months. Upgrades were quite costly. I'll suggest you think about an upgrade too. Also, I remember RDRAM has to be put in pairs, right ? and that is the most annoying part > You always spend double
  14. Thanks all.I'll definitely try an XP-64 bit or Vista-64 but I'll need to buy the new license first.. Guess that'll take time
  15. Thanks onscreen :lol:I am thinking of installing Windows XP 64 bit Edition ^_^One more question .. Can I use a Legit Windows XP pro key on a 64 bit copy of windows.. I have a legal copy of Windows XP pro .. So can i use the same key ?------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  16. Hi, I want to know .. what all major differences would I feel , if i install windows XP/Vista 64 bit edition (x64) ?? I mean will all the softwares and games work properly ? Can I run all My games ? Will it need different Antivirus softwares ? Will I be able to download softwares for it ? I am really confused. And Is there a way to check whether the system Supports 64 bit operating system or not ? Though I can run Ubuntu 64 bit edition properly but is there a way to check for windows ?
  17. Thanks Saint Michael .. I fixed it by reinstalling it. Also I removed ZoneAlarm , It was not worth the risk. I had installed a hotFix from microsoft that had a conflict with ZoneAlarm. I later realized , that could have been one reason. Its strange how Microsoft releases HotFixes that have conflicts with other important softwares on your system. And moreover there was no warning on the Microsoft's site. I read about the conflict on ZoneAlarm's website. I wish I could stop using Windows ..
  18. I'll say Kaspersky 2009 is quite light .. It takes up around 5-10 MB in memory. Dont know about the exact processor usage but It can adapt I guess. You can try the trial version and buy it. Its not free .. Alternatively , You can go with a light weight firewall combined with Adaware + Spybot. And then Install AVG. This can minimize the risk and guarantee a safe surfing
  19. Happens .. I like my Athlon more than my Quad Core Could be because of a hardware conflict or BIOS error.Another possibility is that one of the Devices is causing a bios conflict. Does your system properly supports Windows XP ? For the reinstalling part .. I'll say create a recovery partition and Norton Ghost Disk .. You can lessen your hassle of reinstalling it again and again. One more thing .. Is your XP legit ? many of the pirated XP versions are bad that could also be the reason Since you were not able to update the BIOS .. You should contact the customer support for the Motherboard PLEASE WRITE YOUR SPECIFICATIONS NEXT TIME ALL OF IT. PROCESSOR , MOTHERBOARD , RAM , DRIVES, SMPS .. EVERYTHING AND THEIR MAKE ALSO finally If by any chance this issue is unresolved .. I'll suggest , you should switch to Linux.
  20. Thanks all :lol:I didn't have any important files on my C drive so I formatted the drive .. Fixed now.. though I still want to know what caused the problem .. @Saint Michael -- My case is open.. No chance of heating/over-heating .. My room temperature is generally around 30-35 deg Celsius and hence processor temp is around 38-40 deg onlyanyways.. I dont think it was a hardware problem since otherwise my other system would also be behaving in a similar fashion , which is not the case. My Vista was running properly. I've formatted the drive .. Thanks for the Support Link.. Proved helpful to one of my friend ----------------------------------------@ XpressThanks for the concern but I dont think my system was infected.. Though I was also thinking of the same but I scanned it using two different anti-virusKaspersky 2009 and ZoneAlarm Security Suite 7Dont think I've seen a Virus pass through both the Anti-virus'NEways .. Since you gave me that link I've uninstalled the ZoneAlarm now.. Just to be on the safe side .. Though I seriously like the way they've put it up but then I cant risk loosing data again. I've got two projects going on now .. ==========I am still looking for the exact possible cause . .. If anyone still has different theories pls list them.. ==========
  21. Hi I am using KAV 2009. Just bought it. I think its great. Atleast better than the NORTON or AVG It does have a good scan engine and plus definitions are updated on a daily bases, Atleast thats what I noticed.
  22. Sorry Dude your drive is screwed .. The only chance to recover that data would be by using some lower level tool that can perform sector level recovery. Take help from Professionals if its really urgent. Even Seagate is offering their services for data recovery. I Hope you get your data recovered. An Advice .. Next time you buy a hard-drive Don't go for Seagate. They have reduced their quality too much. Even one of my hard-disk failed and its not even six months.. I heard they are putting chinese parts in their drives.. May be thats the reason of the price cuts -- REDUCED QUALITY
  23. Hi , I dont know what happened but My system restarts after a few Minutes (at max an hour). Can someone guess what might be wrong. It displays a System Shutdown Timer (initiated by Administrator) and then restarts after 60 sec. This is an SP2 so I dont think its a blaster. I have a ZoneAlarm Security Suite and it didn't detect anything. I even Scanned my Windows folder from Kaspersky using my Second OS (Vista) but that also didn't detect anything . .. Any guesses ??
  24. Sorry ShadowX was busy with some things First of all, Eclipse is quite easy. You just needed to switch from Java to FLEX environment. Its a tab one one of the top bars. I guess you missed it It takes time to getting use to it, so I can really understand . But it is at the same time worth it since you get syntax highlighting and plus better error debugging options. .................. Second thing. The code above. You need a Remoting component for this to work properly. http://www.amfphp.org/ Go there and read the instructions Its quite easy to install and even has video instructions .. Plus you also get to use the remoting properly. I must tell you that I haven't tried this myself. So best of Luck Also just to add , If you were working on FLASH and then trying to send something to PHP you'll be needing FLASH remoting component. I guess the last they released were for version MX.
  25. Thanks .. The site really helps I'll try that .. but just for the record I've cut down on fats already
