  1. Hi,I have been trying to install adobe photoshop cs3 for a little over a week now. The problem is when I'm installing at the end it says it has successfully installed shared components, but has failed to install photoshop cs3 and shared components. This is really annoying because nothing that I have found on the internet helps. Other people have had the same problem, but thats because they have installed beta versions, which I didn't install! I have tried the CS3 clean-up tool from adobe - that doesn't help either! The only other adobe/macromedia products that I have installed on my computer are Flash/Dreamweaver/Fireworks 8 - and acrobat reader 7.Any help would be greatly appreciated

  3. Hi guys. What's life like as a technically competent programmer in your country?Over here, programmer is the lowest life form. Everyone despises the programmer, from the sales to the users. The consultants are people who normally are poor in actual programming, but good at talking and sales, and they rose up to be a consultant. Here, a programmer works from 8:30am to 9pm everyday rushing projects. Pay increments are low, and can expected to be laid off by 35 yrs old, once u are considered technologically backward. How's life of a programmer in your country?
  4. I first tried Linux a few years ago, not because I was completely against Windows or anything like that, but just because I had some free time on my hands. I started off with Mandrake 9.0 which was very user friendly and Windows-like. After reading through a bunch of message boards and learning which distros are good for what, I soon realized my current distro was great for Linux noobs. So then I decided to try something a little more advanced like Slackware which I knew had a steep learning curve.Since then I've been using Slackware as my main OS and couldn't be happier. Of course somethings are a pain in the *bottom* to configure, but that;s Slack for you. If it ain't hard, then you won't learn anything from it.That's my story, I basically started to learn Linux because I was bored.
  5. The success of the program of TV "American Chopper" he/she opened space for "Computer Choppers". As the own name says, the business of those faces is to do modifications in computers, so that they have more style. And they are not joking: the last project published in their site is about a laptop of Apple browsed to gold. After buying Macbook Pro (that doesn't leave for less of R$ 10 thousand in Brazil), it will be necessary to invest more about of US$ 1,5 thousand to leave the machine gold. That has been not enough, it is also possible to stud the logo of Apple with diamonds-the price of that last alternative, that it should really be frightening, it was not published. You can imagine...
  6. Many people have been disappointed with the Zune- Microsoft's attempt at developing an iPod killer media playing machine. I don't know too much about media players, but you would think that if it has wifi capabilities, it should be able to go online. Well, the MS Zune lets you preview other people's music, which you would then have to buy. I guess that the idea has some merit, but come on? I digress.Does anyone think that the Zune will outsell the ipod this holiday season? Some people seem to think so. With a price tag of $100 in some popular electronics stores for a pre-ordered version of the 2nd generation Zune, who knows that's in store for us this holidays. I would say that it's going to be tough for anyone to beat out the ipod, but ipod is competing against itself and transitioning to the iphone-like technology in their newest ipod touch player. To try to rival the ipod nano, there's the sportier flash zune, which doesn't have the hard drive like other players, but is very good for music and a small amount of video.ipod killer? What do you guys think?
  7. Yes, the Canadian Dollar's highest peak was $1CAD = $1.08USD. This type of thing never happened after the 1970s as the Canadian Dollar was approximately 90 cents American until 6 months ago when the Canadian dollar (and possibly other currencies as well) skyrocketed. What does this mean? Buying power. However, little do happy Canadian shoppers know, the high dollar is impacting people like me. Yes, it impacts the manufacturing and export sectors, but the less known aspects it hits are families with members who work at other places on Earth to provide a living back home. For example, my father works in Hong Kong and the rest of us lives in Toronto. Due to the skyrocketing loonie, now my dad needs to work many times harder to earn that $1 Canadian compared to couple years ago. The bad thing is that as long as the American Dollar drops, the Hong Kong Dollar drops, so it's bad news for me sad.gif.So, this means that as long as the American Dollar drops, many people will suffer, even shoppers (yes, we still get charged more than Americans do for the same good. Damn businesses and their gouging.)
  8. Not sure about the rest of the world where Dominos is located, but in the USA, Dominos has started a whole new marketing campaign around the whole "You Got 30 Minutes" idea. I was curious as to what they meant. I knew that in the past, they had an offer where if your pizza was delivered in over 30 minutes, you get it for free. So, is this another one of these deals? Well, their website has a disclaimer about this. On https://www.dominos.com/en/ if you look at the bottom of the page, you will see a legal disclaimer about the whole "You Got 30 Minutes" deal. It says: This means that there's not even a guarantee that you'll get your piza in 30 minutes, because they can just say that safety was a priority when delivering your pizza. So what does this offer to the consumer? I guess it means that Dominos will try their very best to get you your pizza in 30 minutes. So, if you're trying to get a free pizza from Dominos, this might not be the way to do it.
