I don't know much about webdesigning but I would advise you guys to make sure your sites are IE compatible because most people use it. People like you and I know there is something like browser compatibility but there are so many people out there who don't even care to know how these things work. People of such a type will use use Windows default everything( default browser, default player, default editors) so most of these people will only use IE. Technically inclined people will understand why the site is rendered in a certain way and will forgive you for browser incompatibility. I think we all have to wait until FF grabs 50% market share before we start designing pages for it.

Hey guys please help.I haven't been able to access my cPanel for a long time now. I think the problem started when most members had those password problems. I think that's when I made too many unsuccessful login attempts. Now I can't access my cPanel and any site hosted here. Someone told me my IP is blocked but I don't know who to tell to have the problem resolved. BuffaloHelp(sorry if it wasn't u Buff) stated in one post that he could reset password if nayone would write a post with the line "Please reset my password". I did that but still there is nothing.I have a question when my password is reset how do I know? Do they send the new one to my email?

We may tell newbie a lot of different ways to learn new things but I really think one will always find a way to learn something that is unique and only works for them. How I did it may confuse someone. What is easy for someone may not be that easy for me. I'm not saying we don't have to tell them how we did it.

Microsoft And Google At War? Are microsoft and google at war?
kudmus replied to minimcmonkey's topic in Software
Well the guys who wrote this blog don't seem to see a fierce beef. Instead they see MS benefiting from the developments at Google. Very true! This guy misled me and I ended up thinking Google bought a chunk of Skype. I guess on the others he was not being particular about who started it but he wanted to compare what they have side by side. Although he said some thing like MS strives to better what Google will have done I think he was now refering to the latest technologies like what you find in Google applications. -
Can't Access My Site An Cpanel already did some sugested things
kudmus replied to oxida's topic in Web Hosting Support
I have had a such a problem for a long time now. I can't access my cPanel and I believe it's because of the password problem mentioned by BuffaloHELP(I think) in one of his posts. Now my site is not even accessible. Someone said my my IP may be blocked because of many unsuccessful login attempts. What am I supposed to do now. Who do I ask to solve this problem for me? -
I don't see myself using that format anytime soon coz everyone out there is using gif, jpeg, png, etc. I don't think everything will be fully compatible soon. We can have issues like we had with transparent png's on IE6. One more thing this may mean people using other OSes will not be able to view the pictures. That will be bad. And for what? Those benefits they are mentioning are not that attractive after all.

Of all the pets that I have seen with people I think a turtle is one of the most complex ones to study. I think most things on earth like whatever thing that gives them food so I believe your turtle sees food when it sees you. Very funny!

I only used Chrome for a week and we had to part ways. I did not unistall it but it's no longer my default browser. I t seemed to be too heavy for my gunk-ware laden P3 machine with less than 512MB memory. I think I'll have to try it again when I get a better rig. The thing is resource hungry. It sets the benchmark for what people call a memory hog. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying this is a bad browser coz I think what it does under the hood is worth the resources it will be grazing. I wish they could make it as customizable as Firefox. Until they do that people like me are going to stick to the good old FF.

Guys I have a problem with Joomla. When I install it on one of my sites hosted elsewhere they enter some content and some sample tables in a database. They have their own installer which is what I was using. How do I get rid of all that info that they put there and upload my site so that what I end up with is exactly what I have on my desk. How else can I go about installing joomla on a site like the ones we have here.

PHP Function To Add Previous and Next Page Feature useful php function
kudmus replied to asglu's topic in Programming
I'm learning PHP and would appreciate it if you explain what you are talking about here. Please be clear and help dummies. I'm sure there are a lot of guys like me out there who have heard about classes but would like to know how you do it in a case like this. -
Guys it's a good thing that you are telling us about all these things but what I'm looking for is something that will defrag those files that will be left out by the tool in XP. That's why I'm looking for 3rd party tools. Can anyone help?

You first need to learn the basics of HTML and CSS and then install Dreamweaver(not the best idea but that's how I did it). Download a template that you like and start from there. When you think you are seasoned with HTML and CSS go to Tizag and start on PHP. Whoever that guy is, his tutorials are helpful for dummies.

Where is the image? I was so curious to see it. I also skinned my Gmail and I'm experiencing the same problem when I use someone else's machine. I believe all this talk about what they should do with labels is a bit unnecessary. What galexcd suggested is a brilliant idea but a lot of people will want to debate on how the labels should be done. Why? Because they can't find folders in Gmail and they want labels to do everything that they were going to use folders for. Labels are labels. Folders are folders. If we want folders let's tell Google we want both labels and folders, not to try and tweak something made for one purpose to do another. A lot of my friends have Gmail and there's only one with a similar problem. Those spam massages you are getting are not Gmail's fault. They come when you either give your email address to spammers or spammers obtain your email address by one way or another.

That is very true. Microsoft sees Google as the benchmark for good things yet because they own the OS Google is supposed to be depending on the trends set by MS. I however think with Mozzila in this world MS can not keep Google down by making the OS stand in the way. Now anyone can get an addon throw it into Mozzila and a job is done. For example I changed the skin of my gmail and made hierarchical folder view for what was going to be passive labels. Things like Prism show a dawn of possibilities and opportunities for those who believe in using the web to get around OS destruction and restrictions. That's how I see it but I know others know better. Let's hear those minds.

I had not realised what a giant Google was untill I ssaw a blog titled Microsoft spends $486 million to compete with Google. That is very bad news to the Microsoft lovers because what it simply shows is MS is lagging behind. Google is leading the way and all MS has to do is counter what Google will have done. I want to hear what others think because my opinion is always biased. I hate monopolies that's why.

I have added a drop down menu on my site as an include. The problem now is that when I hover over the buttons the menus hide behind the the contents of the divs below the menu bar. I have tried to play with the CSS for the two divs(the menu and the body) but I did not succeed because I did not know what I was doing. I did not know where to fix and what to suspect. May you please help me. Tell me if there is need to upload the CSS file.

I was going to tell you to Google for "Login Recovery" but the solutions given here are far much better than LoginRecovery which will tell you to download an ISO burn it, use it then wait for at least 48hrs to get the password. The process can be accelerated if you are a premium member though. What you do is you go to the site and download the zipped file or ISO that you'll have to extract to floppy or burn to CD. Boot from the media you have created and everything is intuitive. You just copy the very long encrypted password you get there and reboot. Submit the password on their site and prepare to wait for ages before you can check and be given your password.I think if you are like me who hates waiting for things like that ChaosDesign's idea is good and D d s twin's is brilliant. I'm going to try them both just for the sake of it. It'll be very interesting if they work.

What a collection! I like those script giving sites but I don't know how to get the scripts from hotscripts.com. Do they have some where I can copy the code as plain text. I thought they weren't giving me that because I wasn't a member. I signed up but I still can't them.

All that can be avoided when instant on machines come. Although the future when most people own Instant-On PCs is still distant, when it comes there will not be a any need for OSes any more. I'm sure by then Google will be owning some kind of online desktop. Given the way Google has been developping things over the years I think it is not a crazy idea to think some nerds are working on an OS in the Google labs. And if we consider how user friendly Google products are, we are guaranteed that they will release an open source OS that will target Windows users. The only problem is Google's idea of beauty is different from what Windows lover will be expecting. Google derives it's beauty from simplicity which I don't think will work with most people.I for one would not like it if they abandon their trade mark blue theme for anything to suit Windows users but I'm afraid that could be necessary. If they are going to release an OS I want it to have a theme that resembles my Gmail and Chrome. I would love that.

Xampp How Can I Generate "automatic Start Sites"
kudmus replied to raymond07_ca's topic in Programming
I dont encourage people to do what I did coz I was new to this thing. I just deleted the entire content of xampp/htdocs/ and placed my index.php and all the other folders in there. It worked the first time and I never had a problem ever since. I still type LOCALHOST/phpmyadmin and it works. I don't even know where it gets it but it doesn't fail me -
Being in a country where buying things online is hell, I did not choose to use freeware. I was forced to use freeware and sometimes cracks(I know it's bad but it's not my fault!). Over these years I've grown to love the following freewares listed in no particular order:FirefoxChromeFoxit PDF reader(I really don't understand why people use Acrobat reader)SumatraPDF(the lightest I've ever used)FileZillaVLC portableWMP 10XAMPPNotepad++(can't think of anything better)SkypeREVO uninstaller(I set the hunter mode on autostart)TeraCopynLiteBitTorrentGmail NotifierThe list goes on and on but those ones are the ones that I can think of just by looking at my start menu.

Should Sex Education Be Made Compulsary In Schools?
kudmus replied to FreedomOverdose's topic in General Discussion
Sounds like a good idea to me. I think the best way to convey a massage to someone is to use someone they respect and believe to be on their side. There is always some sort of differences between kids and teachers or kids and parents. Kids think their parents and teachers 'no' a lot but, so they need someone who does just 'no' but 'knows' a lot. -
