I'm not sure if this still is the case...But be aware that foreign language oriented operating system, in the past that includes Windows, and the United States machine do not mix well. This is for several reasons but mainly due to encryption and security issues. Did you know that Intel makes two or more different types of CPU with the same speed? One is for United States 128bit encryption and others for less than 128bit for foreign countries. This is so that outside of US cannot hack into US machines. This is simple as preventing from our own machine compromising us. The reason how I know is that I initiated Windows 98SE Korean version in Pentium III and the system crashed immediately and constantly. And the same issue with Japanese laptop (Sony Picturebook) with U.S. Windows 2000. But like I said, this was for the older machine and OS. Today could be different.

First Attempt At A New Style. Emphasizes attempt.
BuffaloHelp replied to Se?or Maniac's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Nice work Senor Mainac!I like the way the reneder's arm extends beyond the white border and meets the outer boarder. And thus the whole render looks beveled. I'm sure you paid careful details to picking the correct font style to match the techy look--it works well!I'm not sure what you mean by different style but it sure works for me. -

Issue resolved on another thread http://forums.xisto.com/topic/34433-accused-of-hacking/ Topic closed. -
When you modify the nameserver, it takes 24-72 hours sometimes to update the changes. Therefore, in the mean time your DNS cannot be assumed tied to Xisto - Web Hosting's service. So this may be a reason why "yourSite.com/cpanel" cannot be accessed.Use your FTP procedure to access your hosting in the mean time. You can upload and/or transfer files in that manner.

Topic has been resolved. Member removed pirated software. Pirated does not always mean hacked or cracked--when you obtain it and use it without the proper lawbinding manner, the act of obtaining also applies as a form of piracy.
-
It's Trial not Trail. Right? I have inquired repeatedly where and how you received it. You did not respond. So I assumed it was obtained from another source since Invision no longer offers 2.0.x trial download. In fact, the only version you can download for a trial period is 2.1.x. In order to obtain that you must give your personal information to obtain the proper downloading URL. If you can prove that you downloaded from IPS, Inc. I will unsuspend your hosting privileges. I knew it would be unwise for me to terminate at this point so I suspended your account. However, this is IPS, Inc.'s direct respond: Even though this question was for 1.3.x the answer clearly states that they have retired all versions prior to 2.0.0 Final. This includes the trial version. Please provide necessary information and we'll take it from there. The possible proof is a letter from IPS, Inc with the proper contact number/address. Thank you.

Your board shows 2.0.0 Trial version of Invision Power Board. This is no longer offered by Invision (see http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/). You have installed pirated software. Under the Xisto TOS your hosting will be terminated immediately. -

Admin And Mod's Note Bbcode For Ipb Note Feature
BuffaloHelp replied to MaineFishing45's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I thought it was understood how to install them from my previous post. If you are looking for step by step instruction here it goes. You must be pretty fluent in CSS, file location and bit of HTML knowledge: The below is something I'm thinking about proposing for all tutorials--when applicable--if writing an instruction: Knowledge base needed:basic HTML editing advance IPB ACP knowledge basic FTP Time for completion:under 5 minutes (without modification) 1 - download m^e's files 2 - upload graphics to the loacation you want to store (in your forum directory etc) 3 - modify notice.css by editing location you're storing needed graphics files (this can be http://... or if you're planning to store the notice.css file in the same directory then just 'filename.jpg' will do) 4 - upload notice.css to a directory where you want to store this notice.css file 5 - modify notice.html to point to correct location of this notice.css file 6 - access ACP > Custom BBCode Manager > Add New BBCode 7 - Add a new custom BBCode as follows: Custom BBCode Title: NOTE (or whatever you want to call it this is just the title for the tag and NOT the actual BBCode name) Custom BBCode Description: (enter whatever you want to say to describe this, i.e. Admin and Mod usage only) Custom BBCode Example: (this explains how to use it, again just few words will suffice) Custom BBCode Tag: notice (or whatever you want your BBCode to be called) Use Option in tag? Yes Custom BBCode Replacement: (this is where you copy the HTML source, from the downloaded file, to this area. Just copy and paste the whole code) 8 - Click on 'Add BBCode' And you're done. If you need to modify the looks of your note, just edit your CSS and HTML file like any other webpage file and you should be set. -
Something New But Different Doubt It
BuffaloHelp replied to Saint_Michael's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Jumping Jupiter! Now that is an awesome sig! I agree with you on blue ice hue--definitely works with the render.I like the details you paid attention to as a background; ice crystals forming and around your name. This SOTW voters will definitely have tough time casing votes -
Please read pinned topic on how to request for sigs.Topic closed.

Interesting choice in layout of the sig--vertical. Although I've always seen sigs in horizontal this is a nice break from the ordinary (and part of SOTW#28 format).I like the render in sketch style. But what I noticed right way is that your name isn't fully visible. That adds to the artistic visual effect. It's like something out of a poster.
-
NICE!!! Good choice in render. Not too busy and not too plain...simply straight to the point--pain. Have you entered our SOTW competition yet? If not here is the link http://forums.xisto.com/topic/34271-sotw-28-entries-and-now-for-something-completely-different/

Somehow I knew bookmarking this page would come handy someday. Since Xisto supports PERL this site explains how to write for PERL. http://www.chami.com/tips/internet/041498I.html I'm not sure if it really detects the true IP but it has been working correctly in identifying my IP address--and I'm behind 3 firewalls and 2 routers, which something I heard that it hinders IP address for some scripts.

Admin And Mod's Note Bbcode For Ipb Note Feature
BuffaloHelp replied to MaineFishing45's topic in Websites and Web Designing
When you download m^e's version you have to do two following things:1) access your ACP and update the new BBcode tag (make new then add scripts accordingly)2) access your forum root (via FTP) and upload two files: CSS and JPG image file under the directory that #1 script calls to.And that's it. Since the customized NOTE tag is the work of m^e, I cannot post his script on this forum without his permission. Thanks for understanding. -
Swiching From Trap17 To Computinghost
BuffaloHelp replied to psychiccyberfreak's topic in Web Hosting Support
You can perform the migration of files yourself. Your individual files and relative links must be changed if you used, for example, <a href="http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ of [html]<a href="directory/file"> those need to be changed to new hosting server's address (Xisto - Web Hosting.com).Database can be backed up and downloaded as compressed file. Then uploaded and uncompressed using your cPanel or database manager. It would also be easier if you have exact copies of your page files in your local drive as well. You can then zip all of them and upload it as one single file, use cPanel to unzip and you're done. -
Please do not change the subject of this topic But since you asked, please read Xisto Readme for forum rules. Contact moderators for clarification. One or two URL links are fine to be posted without QUOTE tag. But when you list bunch of URLs or just lists of software or names, this is when you should be using QUOTE since it is an unfair advantage in earning hosting credits. Any further post on usage or related to QUOTE in this topic shall be warned. This topic is about religious tendencies. Thank you.

Admin And Mod's Note Bbcode For Ipb Note Feature
BuffaloHelp replied to MaineFishing45's topic in Websites and Web Designing
You can start with Invisionize's modules. Our NOTE BBcodes were then customized by microscopic^earthling for looks and other small behavior of the actual tag. If you understand IPB and PHP, then those modules downloaded are fully customizable. -
I don't know which forum software you have, but Xisto's shoutbox is by Dean and his shoutbox module can be found in Invisionize.com.

For Admins : Important Issue About Invision Power Boards
BuffaloHelp replied to itssami's topic in Web Hosting Support
You have started the same topic question here http://forums.xisto.com/topic/33953-is-invision-power-board-131-free/ and it was answered. You should have continued your reply there since it's the same topic issue. As replied from Invision Board sales department, since Xisto cPanel is no longer offering self installation any method, after Xisto cPanel stopped offering, of how you obtained will be viewed as illegal. The proper method is you should notify Invision Power Board the website which offers now considered piracy activity of spreading the software. Invision Power Board has online piracy notification submitting form. -
Topics That Annoy Me Millions of replies = waste of time

It is against forum rules to disrespect, ridicule or criticize other member or member's post using this forum. I will not caution you again. Play nice with all our members. This forum is to build and help one another. There's no point in placing blame or finger on something or someone. In fact, this very topic was created to make a point of pointless topic is disconcerting. There are certainly better ways of making our forum the elite of all other forums. And I believe this is not the way. This topic is closed. -
There are scripts out there that can divide a webspace and allow subdomains to be created automatically. And since you understand that having that kind of script in your Xisto hosting violates TOS and due for immediate termination, I am confident that you will not do such foolish thing. So, I not going to mention the name. But with that script you can never offer cPanel power unless you have WHM (Web Hosting Manager) installed. This comes with any good services, like purchasing shared space or dedicated server from, i.e. Xisto - Web Hosting.com. WHM allows you to preset the disk quota and bandwidth allowance as well as all the options that you see installed in you own cPanel. For more information visit Xisto - Web Hosting.com.
