SOTW shall continue as long as at least 1 person is interested. It is my firm belief that a project such great potential should not be extinguished without the benefit of the doubt. In the past, there were some miscommunications as to who actually runs the forum. However, SOTW will go on as long as Xisto GFX Crewmen are here. It is not up to just one individual to keep the place going--it is up to all crew members. I believe that coming up with new SOTW with literal interpretation of new one every week was too strenuous for some members. SOTW can be accommodating this way: one week to submit a piece and one week to vote. This is technically still SOTW since it's a week long process of evaluating and voting. We may not have all 52 signatures out of a year but let's set more obtainable goal of week long discussions.

I had pup-under (a full enlarged page) of FriendCircles when I entered your site. I personally dislike all pop-ups and pop-unders. It degrades the true content of the webpage--whether professional or not. I'm assuming it's probably from ads placed in your site. Besides the layout and how it should be looking, I'm surprised how fast your center media loaded--and with pretty good resolution as well. I'd say that's successful enough to impress old fart like me on the first page

First Time Skiing Need some tips on top of lesson
BuffaloHelp replied to michaelper22's topic in General Discussion
I've read some good advices form everyone. Looks like not only our forum community is well endowed with computer knowledge but outdoor activity as well :huh:Just a small additional suggestion I'd like to add is that you stretch well enough before and AFTER your skiing. I'm talking about deep stretches especially your legs, groin, back and arms. You will be facing with many positions you're not used to when you fall (and you will fall) or trying to stabilize yourself. And be prepared to fall a lot. It happens with every new outdoor activity that involves external equipments. When you feel that you're going to fall, just fall. And there's a technique to falling. You want to simulate rolling by using your back as a cushion. So start the rolling fall by leaning to your most controlled side (usually the right hand side) and bend your knees to get closer to the ground. Then initiate the roll. But keep in mind that your ankles are fixed. So don't do the full rotation with your back. Keep your legs as close to each other as possible when you are rolling. Ski instructors in the past told everyone to have your ski pole strap through your wrist. This is dangerous. If you happen to fall and the ski pole is still hanging by your wrist, a sudden jerk or pull may cause injury to your wrist. Do not use the pole strap if you can.And furthermore, bring fresh change of clothing just in case your ski outfit is wet. It does take some time to dry even with waterproof clothes. The last thing you need on the way back is to sit with wet behind.Have fun! -

Color composition and render separated by nice background flare worked out very nicely. The first thing I noticed was that it was difficult to read what it said, "Akuma" I initially read it as Kuma...so the font could be brighter. I can hear our sig gurus next comment: use some kind of border. lol And I have to say it's bit 2-d like without a savvy border. My rating for this will be 8.5/10 Nice job! The brush work seems to be very original and you should think about writing a tutorial on how you created your background.

Verbal diarrhea??Please! Ladies! Keep our forum clean and sanitized! ;)Welcome misere. Xisto is striving to be the best forum community on the web. And the byproduct of participating in the forum discussions is that you get to have free web hosting. It's a nice reciprocity I think. HA HAOh and by the way, "Clean up in aisle 5! Customer spillage..."

I for one found that sound to be quite amusing. In fact, I recorded the sound and placed in MySpace HA HA HA!At first I had no idea where it was coming from. My speakers are usually off and I only turn it on to listen to my music collections. Well I guess I triggered it. It came and I thought my computer was being invaded by spywares. Phew~ I don't think it's that bad.

Girls Are The Devil two-faced sons of beeps
BuffaloHelp replied to semeticsister's topic in The Vent
Perhaps because I am not a female so I never went through the other side of the story. However, males have dominant sides and territorial sides that sometimes over runs the rational, logical social relationship protocol--that is to never take things seriously among "friends." But I'd like to start by saying that I do understand your wishing to hurt them by keeping yourself away from their little clicky world. Hurt them by hurting yourself almost--if I disappear they will feel sorry that they no longer see me... This feeling, by the way, is very universal for boys and girls, regardless of nationality, among the puberty years. I know this because I went through it and so did my sister; and 1000 other students I interviewed for my Psychology class in the university studies. But always remember that by isolating yourself and thinking that this action will inflict sort of remorse or hurtful meanings towards them, you have to think it over. Whatever they have done, they can't feel them like you do--just like you can't feel what they went through especially this girl Tynesha. You probably thought that it's an acceptable friendly gag when you did what you did to Tynesha's lunch. And maybe she felt violated. When the group decided to vote you off, maybe they thought it was something they can do regardless of your feelings--much like you did not regard Tynesha's feeling if she knew what you were doing to her lunch. No one can tell you what to do next. It's because you're the one who's actually living your life--neither I nor anyone else. I would never know the humiliation by taking the course of action that I'm about to suggest. I can only relate.Whether by apologizing to Tynesha at this point may or may not solve your crisis. It may not get you invited back to the table that once you were the sole sitter. This may not even bring the world to the once before this voting moment. But I would like for you to have the courage to say, "Tynesha, this may not solve our differences but if yesterday's voting me out had anything to do with you feeling violated when I took samples of your lunch, I am very sorry. I just wanted you to know that. I did not know you would feel this badly as I did when I left the table." And just walk away and do your thing. Do not expect anytime soon to be invited or even join them just like you have before. Go on with your lunch time...There's a reason why social grace is important. By admitting your fault you are acknowledging your understanding towards another person's view. This softens the blow of whatever the drama may have happened. But you are not hiding your tail between your legs because you're not expecting anything in return. You're not looking for "I'm sorry too about yesterday" because then, your apology means nothing. You're taking the high road. In fact, the one who should be apologizing is you (since it seems like your previous actions instigated the voting). And keep your agenda of apology with you and Tynesha--no one else. Tynesha might have been furious with you but still others have decided to make this personal to them. For that, you do not need to acknowledge. And furthermore, an apology from the heart is worth more than elegant words and gestures. -
SOTW #24 Winner Saint_Michael.Voting is now closed. Thank you everybody!

Again, Xisto forum server and Xisto hosting servers are two different machines, Shengeta.Today there was some unexpected error in both forum and hosting. Forum was first because of over load in Xisto. Because Xisto's forum hasn't upgraded to the lastest version yet. Your hosting service might have been interrupted (I'm saying might because there was a user using all the load--possible spam sent emails). There's no issue with asking and finding out how Xisto services are doing. But if you are going to state an experience please be sure to listen to the facts. One more note: I am not doubting that your internet service isn't the issue. But how internet service is connected to the rest of the world is through connecting to cache server. This server is dedicated to caching most frequently visited pages and stores them locally (not your machine but your ISP's machine). This is done to prevent too many connections to one particular site at once. It's very similar to how P2P software can break down 1 file to small few pieces so that not one connection is feeding the whole file.Anyway, sometimes those cache servers will take some time to "clear" things to update the information. It is known that certain websites and services will be interrupted. But in most cases, it's due to one of the hosting members decided to either test out unstable codes or decided to abuse the service and use it for mal-purposes.

It's a slow building process... But GFXTrap.com Staff page has new links, now, to proudly present staff member's bios section. And of course every crew member will be updated but for now SM and Johnny's profiles are complete. It is our tribute to their hard and successful works! Please feel free to comment and contribute on the page layout. And a little bit of criticism is alright To navigate, go to the GFXTrap.com Staff link, and click on hyperlinked staff member's name. Thank you for your attention.

Photoshop cannot edit any vidoe files. In fact, Photoshop cannot even do animated GIFs. So you will need a real video editing software. If you own Windows XP you will find Movie Maker which comes with your operating system. That's a simple video editing software. But as far as capturing screen shot.. as in a still picture or short clip? If it's a screen shot just use the Print Screen button. If it's a short clip, convert your whol WMV file to MPEG (free converters are out there). I use TMPGEnc mpeg-1 since it's free. Then, you can import that to your Movie Maker and just chop off what you don't need.

Verizon Dsl Offerings plentiful, but speed slow
BuffaloHelp replied to michaelper22's topic in General Discussion
How are you connected in home networking? Two computers with a router? And this router is from Verizon? Have you or are you using the USB connection or have in the past? And the software you installed from Verizon, is it still present in your computer? -
That's why you should've paid attention to the confirmation page. When posting an image, make sure it's no wider than 640.sigh... topic resolved and closed. Please pay attention to Xisto Readme for future incident when we may have miscommunication.

That's why I asked you to PM me your password... so that I can give it a try. Take some time to breathe and sit back.Otherwise, you can send email to support@Xisto.com or use 10 credits to reset your password.

Please stop and listen to what I am saying. There's no other email that can be sent at this point. You had 5 areas you had to fill in from the process page. The first two were for your forum ID and password. Third was for your subdomain and the last two were for your cPanel. Since you're saying that you used the same password for all your account(s) THAT is your cpanel password. It's not that hard.
-
Wait, during your process of host activation, the form asked you to enter your forum ID and password, your desired subdomain and cpanel userID and password. So you mean to say that you didn't select the password then? Or did you select the password and forgot already?
